Could anybody please try to add more than 1.000 characters to the Contact Notes Field and try to sync in back to Google Contacts?
I still have the Huawei Mate 8, which has that problem since Nougat. The Huawei Mate 9 has similar problem, not sure what Mate 10 will bring. The problem is described in more detail here:

Or here:

I'm thinking to switch to LG V30 or Pixel 2 XL, just because of my Contact data getting truncated and lost. Samsung Note 8 also still has the problem, I tried it out in Samsung store.
Could anybody please check, if there appears an obvious limit in the notes field within Google Contacts?
Thanks!

It seems so. Just did a test for you. Perhaps this happens with every phone.

Thanks a million, man! Much appreciated! It wasn't the case before the Nougat update on my Mate 8. Also on my old LG G2 not a problem. And on Nexus or Pixel devices with direct software from Google.
But all Samsung have the restriction and several other brands. Huawei since Nougat, also on the Mate 9.
Unfortunately it seems more common now... Really too bad. I won't get around finding other solutions then.

Same with Huawei Mate 20 Pro
I have the same problem with my new Huawei Mate 20 Pro. So far I have been using iPhone and all the notes of the contacts have been displayed in full. However, when I use native Huawei Contacts app or Google Contacts app on my Huawei phone, the notes get truncated (cut off). Huawei support has told me to contact Google support, however, at Google forum, they say the problem is device specific and that phone manufacturer should fix that.
solution
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fullcontact.ledene
probe esta app , y se puede visualizar el contacto completo con todos los caracteres de las notas.
espero les sirva , saludos desde argentina

Hi,
Can somebody confirm the presence of mirrorlink in the Huawei Mate 10 and maybe
post some photos. A video would be great too.
Thanks
3rd Icon from top left but it's called mirrorshare, I have no idea if that is what you are looking for.

Hi rjan22, thanks for your reply, however I am not looking for mirrorshare.
Can you try looking under settings and do a search for mirrorlink?
(I 've seen it there on supported Samsung phones)

it cannot be called differently because it is a trademark.
It's for connecting your smart phone to the car,
viewing maps and applications in the dashboard screen.
(see http://www.mirrorlink.com)
I have seen it as an update on the Huawei P10 and was told
by Huawei support that the Mate 10 will support it out of the box,
but I am not quite sure.
Response from Huawei France
Hi,
Huawei-France, in Europe, wrote that the new Mate 10 Pro is fully compatible with MirrorLink.
All phones with Android 5.0 or above should work in MirrorLink FullLink mode. I'm using it since Honor 7, P9 and now P10.

My mistake - all Huawei phone from 5.0 support FullLink, not MirrorLink. Sorry for the confusion.

Hi, with which you can do with the application, I'm getting the error "This app works only on LG branded devices" When I try it with the LG MirrorLink app, but this app uses Samsung devices to transfer the entire screen in the same way as the Youtube vs. I'll be waiting for your help
Has anyone managed to project their mate 10 to a Surface Pro 4?

yeah, you need to do at least one EMUI update to get the Microsoft Translator. I got it after my phone notified me of the first update. The second EMUI update adds live wallpapers and the Amazon video app (which I uninstalled immediately).
I haven't received a second one yet... When did it happen?

on my mate 10 pro after the root the translator app has disappeared, can someone extract the apk and put it here?
Yes is possible I my phone.
I've downloaded it from the Play Store, is it the same as the stock one?
I think I may have accidentally deleted it
I tried it, but it's kind of slow, took 10 seconds to translate this:

Hi, I'm from the Microsoft Translator engineering team in "sunny" Seattle, WA.
If the event you don't have the app installed (or removed it unintentionally) in theory you should be able to just go to the Huawei store (not Google play as we can't put two versions of the app there) and re-install it.
However, after I saw this post we went to check and realized it's not there. We're talking to our Huawei engineering partners soon and hopefully it will be fixed shortly. Then, if the Huawei store detects it's a Mate 10 or Honor view 10 it will automatically send you the IA-build. Other Huawei phones will get the "vanilla" version that has all the same features but the NMT offline translations packs, just regular SMT ones (still probably the best on the market based on our internal testing from last year!).
Note: All cloud translations as AI (well, for supported NMT languages!), it's only when you're offline and for the dozen NMT offline pack (easy to know which ones: they're 1/2 the size of the non-NMT ones, 100MB instead of 200MB) that you'll use the Kirin processor accelerated translations.
Note 2: if you had it on the phone, and I know it's kind of brute force, you can factory reset your phone and it should come back.
I hope it helps and for any app questions the best is to just ask them on our Uservoice forum ( we monitor it daily): microsofttranslator.uservoice.com

No, it's the default one, without offline NMT support. If you're online it makes absolutely no difference though.

You will know if you have the Huawei version as you will see the Huawei logo on the bottom of the splash screen.

Other tip: the icon is slightly different. The standard app has as "a" and a Japanese character in the icon. The Huawei version has a "a" and a Chinese character.

Still can't find it on my device
ALP-L29 8.0.0.132 (c185)
Does this have office voice translate?
no, only text translation offline
For me it doesn't work anymore. It always says "can't translate this" no matter what I point my camera on. Also text gets the same error immediately after opening the menu even before typing in text. Same for voice
Hello everyone !
I just switched from a Huawei P10 to the brand new Huawei Mate 20 Pro and discovered that the messaging application was replaced with the one from Google.
Is there any way to get rid of the Google application and install the Huawei one instead ? I heard that the Chinese ROM of the recent Huawei phones still use the Huawei application but can't find any Apk out there.
If somebody can help me, please let me know !

I'm curious why you think the Huawei is better (I use Textra so don't know the Huawei nor Google msg'ing apps)?

Well it's mostly for UI reasons. I prefere the look and feel of the Huawei applications like Contacts, Emails and Agenda. It's more "integrated" in the general design of EMUI than the Google application.
Hi guys,
I have a problem with my stratos SmartWatch who don't sync good with Google fit. I just saw that the function isn't usable from stock with the Amazfit app so I googled it for a tweak but didn't really find any answer... Some topics talk about using the Mi Fit app so I tried it, seems to work but stepcount for example isn't synced, I have screenshots taken at the same time after doing manual close, open and sync of each app but I can't post them because of being a newbie (a lurker is more exact) ...
I really don't understand what I do/did wrong, Amazfit and mi fit seems to sync well (step count, BPMs, slepp) but no way to make Google fit the same... I tried to disconnect/uninstall the watch, the amazfit app, the mifit app and the Google fit app one by one but no results tough... I have a Xiaomi Mi 8 as smartphone if it can help you...
Have you any solution for me? Is there a tweak that I can use or any rom to resolve the problem?
Thanks for your future answering

Yours is a Canadian version, Huawei ID is not supported. You have to use a non Canadian SIM, change your phone to the corresponding region and then setup your Huawei Account. After that, you may switch your Canadian SIM back.
Getting a Huawei Account allows you to have 5GB Huawei Cloud storage space for phone backup. That is the only benefit I noticed. If that is not important to you or you are using Google backup already. Don't bother getting the ID.
