Hi there
I have rooted my Xperia and installed the Xposed Framework.
Then I realised that I got the nvram warning err 0x10 displayed at my wifi networks. Turned out that my wifi mac address changed after every reboot (when I disabled and enabled my wifi the mac did not change).
So I searched the internet and found some information. I edited the WIFI file in the /data/nvram directory using a hex editor and changed my mac address to one which does not start with 00:. Now the mac does not change after rebooting but I get a nvram warning err 0x02 :/
I can't find a solution for this and I find it kind of annoying.
1. Does anyone have an idea what I could try?
2. Is there any possibility to read my original mac address? I've tried some tools but they all just display 20:00:00:00:00:00.
Looking forward to get some usefull tips
I too get the same error wifi but i actually thought someone named it that way. Never had to connect tomit though.
Good luck

Hi,
i tried to change my MAC Adress on the Galaxy s3 but none of the existing tutorials worked. The problem is i want to change the mac permanently. I already found a file in /efs/wifi/.mac.info but when i change the value and restart the phone it's set back to the old mac adress. The other tutorials are using nvram or something like that but i couldn't find that file. Do you have an idea of how to change this right?

Hi,
Please help me to solve the issue on the android ICS Wifi Mac address , here are the problems
1) NVRAM warning Err 0x10
2) Wifi always disconnect after able to obtain IP and browse internet a few seconds
3) Noticed that the MAC address last 6 digits are always changing, like 00:08:22:XX:XX:XX after I enable/disable the wifi
4) IPLINK SHOW ETH0 -- error: Can't find device 'eth0' , but WLAN0 is present
5) NetCfg command shows only Lo, wlan0, tunl0,sit0,ip6tnl0,ccmni0,ccmni1,ccmni2. but the Eth0 is not present?
Those problems originally found at the original rom. I have downloaded another similar rom but still not okay.
I downloaded the MIUI rom but only updates the system.img, recovery.img, boot.img. other image files were the same. The WIFI errors are still there.
Any advice?
Many thanks!
Wifi ever changing Mac address
yeah, +1, same problem here.
would be glad with a software solution...
I selected "Format & Install" on SP Flash tool & my IMEI was gone and there was also there was a wifi connection issue (WiFi NVRAM WARNING: ERR 0x10 is shown in Wi-Fi network list & MAC address changed!). I solved both, but those problems reappears every time I reset my phone. Is there any permanent fix for this?
Solved
Solved it. I had to find the correct MAC Address of my mobile & write the mac address permanently by this method. After that IMEI also solved permanently! This tutorial helped greatly:

Hi!
I tried several guides on the internet to change my MAC address, at first, using one of the "MAC spoofer" Apps, but they all just change it "softly" so you can't connect to Password protected Routers (same happens if you use the busybox/terminal method), but my router is password protected and i need that protection. Next i've tried this guide:
"After your rooted head into terminal emulation type su and go into /data/misc/wifi
Look for a file called nvram.txt
Copy it to your sdcard and then to your cpu desktop open it with notepad and at the bottom of nvram.txt is the mac address
This i was able to verify and test on android Citrus Ciena
Edit that mac address and save it as nvram1.txt onto sdcard
Now go back to data wifi misc and copy nvram.txt to nvram.bak
Head into gui and then settings then wifi then turn on the wifi but don't connect to any wifi
turn off the wifi, switch back to terminal
Copy the nvram1.txt to data misc wifi
remove the original (make sure you got it backed up)
Rename nvram1.txt to nvram.txt
head back into gui and then settings then wifi
Now for me it immediately stated unable to turn on wifi
Ignore it and try to turn it on anyways
When it turns on your newly edited mac address will take effect
Connect to your AP
NOW B4 REBOOTING YOU MUST CHANGE NVRAM BACK TO THE ORIGINAL!"
but I haven't found the nvram.txt, so i searched and searched and found out the "s3 version" of it, is "/etc/wifi/nvram_net.txt" but in this file, my s3 shows me a completely different MAC, as my handy actually has. I tried the method with this file anyway, but it didn't work, i still had my old mac, but the MAC written in the file was not reset, so it seems like the system doesn't even care about the MAC-line in that file. So next I found the ".mac.info" file in "/efc/wifi/" and in this file, there is just my MAC written, which really is my actual MAC. So i tried the Method i've pasted above with that file, and it didn't work, the system did just overwrite that file and as i checked after turning my WLAN back on, there was again my old MAC in the file. Then i tried changing it and making it read-only through Root Explorer, but it didn't work either. This time the system afterwards still had the old MAC, but the file didn't change, so in .mac.info there was still my new MAC written, but the system still had the old one. After some time i checken the file once again, and then suddenly the old MAC was written in the file, and the system did automaticly gave writing-permission back. Now i'm just desperate, so if anyone can tell my any method to change the MAC, which works on galaxy s3, please tell me.

Hey guys,
I've found that my mac address in this file "wcnss_mac_addr" located at "/sys/devices/soc.0/a000000.qcom,wcnss-wlan" is 00:00:00:00:00,
and when i change it and confirm that was really changed i restart my device and check again this file and it's 0's again...
can someone explain to me why this is happening?
Obviously that's why my mac address is shown like 02:00:00:00:00:00 and cant turn on WIFI.
Any developer as a sugestion?
ps: my device is a Redmi Note 3 Pro SD.
