Since the last one month there has been no update, no replies from the developer of lineage os 15 oreo build which has volte. Nor the trees are being released, so that others can implement. We users here are like sitting ducks. Is everything okay?
Grow up.
Well tbh abhisekh has not committed to you or me that he will update los 15 daily , weekly or monthly . So you cannot say why there is no update . Its been a month or two.. it doesn't matter how many days have passed. He or any other maintainer/developer builds rom in their free time xda doesn't pay them for building roms .
Regarding updating device tree its upto him ..when he wants to push the updated codes /commits .
The only thing you as an user can do is just enjoy whatever you are getting or roll back to previous android version or go back to stock miui or get a new device which you think has a great development in Oreo ..

Hi.
I don't know if this is the right place for posting or not. But I just wanted to share it with you guys.
I was a fan of Simple AOSP ROM on my Nexus 4 back in the day. According to me, it had all the essential features for a ROM.
Now I have switched to OP2. The development of OP2 was very slow in the early stages but now it has picked up pace.
Keeping that in mind, I want to request someone to please build this ROM for our OP2. Since I have no idea or the time to build it myself, I would love to see someone take this up.
Here is the official source code - https://github.com/SAOSP-M

I'm not a developer myself but I do try and flash the roms on my OP2. Not sure if you yourself are a developer so please ignore if you already have checked these, but Paranoid android, Exodus are all aosp based.. and this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-2/orig-development/rom-aosp-caf-oneplus2-t3386553
I think is purely aosp-caf based.
I don't know if I'm out of line suggesting an alternative rom but, http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-2/orig-development/rom-halogenos-oneplus-2-t3377799
Similar to the suggestion above but is way more current. June security update, beta 2 released today.
Android oreo has been released a few months ago but custom roms have just begun to appear and most of them are far from stable.
Also open gapps are still beta on oreo.
Why is that? Is there something new about oreo that needs special "treatment"?
i see official builds are coming up right now but no LOS official build till now
so it's coming this days ?
All Android 8.1 ROMs still have the exact same bugs. Just because dotOS or crDroid chose to already go for 'official' status doesn't mean they're any more stable than Lineage. It just undermines what 'official' should stand for - a ROM where everything works. I'd rather that development took its time and the 'official' status really meant something.
someone can port that? it could be good see R5+ with Miui 10 Pie ROM.
And why would you need it? Just to have Pie easter egg and 9.0 displayed when you enter "About phone"? MIUI is heavily modified framework, and as long as there is no official 9.0 update from Xiaomi (which imo is not going to happen, looking at the past few months of suspended global beta) there is no need for additional work that would bring new bugs and problems on top of the existing ones. Pie MIUI is basically the same as on Oreo anyway.
But, if you just need to flash your "About phone" tab to friends and others with 9.0, go to build.prop and change some things...
tl,dr: not worth the hassle
For the same reason that a personal create a custom rom aosp pie... To add another possibility and keep the update process alive for the R5+.

That's the point - you need open source code (AOSP - Android Open Source Project). All these ROMs came because Xiaomi released kernel code for Vince, and some nice devs got their hands around it. MIUI is very much not open source. This device might get semi-stable Android Q or whatever comes after Pie, but don't expect anything fancy. In Xiaomi ecosystem, this device has probably EOL tag already. Enjoy what you already have, there is sooo much to choose from.
For quite a while now I've been making LineageOS 15.1 ROMs for the Axon 7.
I think Android 8.1 is still a very capable Android version and there's still support (without using different solutions) for Xposed and some other things. So far I'm still pretty happy with it, but as there are absolutely no fixes and so on in the source anymore and every month one has to hope that it still gets the latest security update, I wanted to ask you guys if you'd still like to see further updates on this ROM (hopefully with more security updates), or if there is any other ROM that is based on Android 9, as Android 10/LineageOS 17.1 isn't ready yet and probably will take a bit more time till it can be a Daily Driver.
The advantage of Android 9/LineageOS 16 is that the source is still being updated (and not only device specific) and that it gets Security Updates much earlier.
So, I guess a Poll would help here...
Due to overwhelming demand I will continue with the 15.1 builds for now. :silly:
I'd love to see a ROM that supports signature spoofing :good:
Anyways, thanks for the work you've done here
