Hey All,
I unfortunately messed around with the LTE Band Settings on my LG V30 - US 998 (US Cellular) in the hidden menu and am now worried that the phone is locking to specific bands. Right now, no matter how many times I reset network settings and restart the phone, it will only lock to one band (12 or 4). The lock is dependent on which LTE Band Setting I select. Anyone know where in the hidden menu I can reset the band selection? Any help would be appreciated.

I managed to unlock my Vibrant, but I can't seem to get AT&T 3G on it. Do I need to change done settings to get it to work?
Its only works where AT&T only runs its 1900 MHz band but AT&T mostly runs 850 MHz which the Samsung vibrant does not have. I think the original Samsung galaxy s has it but not us.

Check the bands for this and the att version of the galaxy the ones that are the same are the ones that yours will work on, seems like it would have been easier to get the att galaxy s
You can get 3g by ATT if it is there (available)
This is where you got to go to nmodify the bands and force the phone to recognize. I have used this in Hawaii so, I know it does work. You have to lock the band that is sending the 3g. The Vibrant has Quad band so you just need to know which one is the one they are using.
Okay…so do at your own risk. You can go back and set the phone to its default automatic gsm/cdma settings.
Dial: *#*#197328640#*#*
Click [1] debug screen
Click [8] phone control
Click [7] network control
Click [2] band selection
This is where you make a change, default setting is [1] automatic, which means it chooses automatically between gsm/cdma (Edge vs 3g). So we are going to change this and set it to wcdma band which is 3g.
Click [2] wcdma band
Click [1] wcdma all []
Now it should display “select wcdma all bands [*]"
Now on the bottom of your phone, click the menu key, it’s the one next to the home key, now click back, menu again one more time, back one more time, this is just to confirm it set to number 2 wcdma band.
Now click menu key one last time, click end.. and you are done. Now to double verify that the phone is locked into 3g, dial in: *#*#4636#*#*
Then click phone information Then scroll down to “set preferred network type” It should now have listed “wcdma only.” PS, if you tried to do a shortcut, and just set wcdma this way first without doing the lock above, it would just go back to gsm/cdma auto once you exit the screen.
Good luck

That is my understanding as well. The FCC reports shows AWS and 1900MHz. No 850MHz.

Pretty sure 1900MHz AT&T 3G worked automatically once I unlocked the phone.
Hello everyone, I think I made a mess...
I have a Le Max 2 X820, I went to the secret menu (*#*#4636#*#*) > phone info > 3 dots menu > select radio band > and i selected "band mode 6". All of this because I had 4G signal issues.
I thought I had solved because the 4G worked perfectly but I just found out that I can not make calls! While I try to call someone it loses the signal and displays a network error.
I tried to reflash the ROM, to flash another ROM with all the wipes, tried to reflash stock modem.zip but nothing! I am desperate! Please help me
EDIT: On the second SIM slot it works, I can make calls
EDIT 2: if I do a manual network search in slot 1 only appears 4G but if I do a network scan on slot 2 appear 4G, 3G and 2G so I can make calls
I did what you did 2 weeks ago on my x829,i think both options band 6 and usa bands just disabled 2g and 3g bands and i can get it to work with qpst or qxdm easily.

I'm trying to change to the LTE network which is not available in the Mobile Networks. My carrier is Freedom Mobile and I'm running Android 7.0, with the LG G5. Anyone know how to fix this, or if this something the Carrier did to the phone ?

After You chose option Your mobile data may turn off and on.
Sorry for my bad English.
I was able to force the phone on to LTE, but it won't switch back to LTE after making a call. It stays on 3G.
Hi, guys!
I'm trying to fox my LG G5, but seems nothing works... I bougth this refurbished device in USA last octuber. I used it in Venezuela with my venezuelan phone number perfectly until march 2019. Then, suddenly, my device stop working. Now, is unavailable to recognize any network, no matter what SIMcard I plugged in (My SIMCard works perfectly in other devices, BTW). So, I went to three differents suport services in Caracas, but anybody could did anything. Now, I'm trying with some codes that I find, but it didn't work either. Actually, my device couldn't recognize some of them... Can you help me, please? I'm desperate to fix my LG G5.
I have rooted my s8 using the extreme syndicate method. I am trying to be able to switch bands. The hidden menu is blank and network signal guru is 50 a month. I have tried using shortcut maker, but it says i need privileges even though i have root. Can I unlock the hidden menu to access the band selection? Is there another app besides network guru that does this? I've tried samsung band selection and that does not work either.
I got this oppo and 5G not working (not even an option to select in sim options), i tried 3 different sims, no 5G.
I have the Vivo X Fold and 5G working great.
What can be the reason?
Look for Force LTE in the Play Store, open and select Method 2, then for your band selection scroll to the bands starting with NR.
I don't believe the changes stick after a reboot and I'm not sure we will get 5G speeds but since I have Mint (T-Mobile towers), I selected a band package with NR/LTE/GSM in it. So far I've learned NR=5G, LTE=4G, GSM=2G and I need GSM band for my calls to come through. There are many bands to choose from so play around with it but this was the ONLY way I was able to get 5G to show up in the notification bar on this phone.
Hope this helps!
I've noticed that 5ghz Wi-Fi networks are not detected on my find n no matter what I do. Only 2.4ghz networks show up. Is that normal?
