Could you link to it? There are a few apps called flygps on the play store
Bumping since it has been moved to another section.
Is there a solution to fake the GPS in Tinder? E.g. the app Fake GPS location works for Maps but not for Tinder. The Xposed Module Fake My GPS also didn't work

Can the maps be downloaded on Galaxy s2 other than Google maps? Please suggest the best app.
Search the Market. Lots of navigation apps at varying prices there. Most store the maps locally on the phone so you don't need to have phone coverage in order to use them.

Q: Is there anyone who knows what map areas are available Offline with Google Maps 6.9.0 for Android?
Background: With Google Maps 6.9.0 it is possible to make certain maps areas available offline. As for Europe, this seems to be dependant upon where you attempt to make this happen. Most of Croatia (except Zagreb) seems to be unavailable, same goes for most of Italy except major cities.
The only way seems to select area with sea as most part of it. It's weird, I don't know if this is a bug or no...

Thank you, just what I was looking for.
Wonder why Italy and Croatia is missing, though...
downgrade
Is there any possibility do make a downgrade?
The offline maps aren´t aviable in Brazil.
How could they make a mistake like that.
ridiculous!
with the previous version i saved a couple of offline maps without problem. after upgrade, all the savings has lost, plus i cant get map for italy now, and i am going there for travel in a week time! how ridiculous!!
downgrade worked for me
I got hit with this too, I don't have a cell plan in Brazil and was relying on cached maps to get around.
To fix it I completely uninstalled the Maps application. Then searched for version 6.8.1 apk on google. There were several places to download it from. I then side-loaded it on my SD card and it is working again with the Labs feature.
What does side loaded mean?
yeah, its possible, and I have downloaded a map and used it as well..
http://www.gpsworld.com/gis/location-and-lbs/news/google-maps-android-now-works-offline-13159
Offline mode doesn't work very well; if you set data connection off and restart your phone for instance you will not longer be able to access saved maps.
The new update of Google maps 6.7.0 denies you to save cached areas for offline viewing. It's a common problem and many users report of the message "Not available" when they try to save an area for offline viewing.
The solution:
So solve the "Not Available" problem in Google Maps (Android), you simply download the older version, 6.6.0 from this place and installs it.
good stuff man, i dont really like this new feature of the gmaps thingie... will keep this version for a bit.
by doing a brief research i can find many people with the same issue, and we are talking about major urban areas.
sometimes google does something really cool but with some very stupid mistakes, wonder why....cheers
Nyc, also wondering if it possible to save bigger areas of the map.
Well I'm on 6.9.0 in the UK and I can save for offline. You might want to upgrade to this version.

The off-line caching has been moved from the labs settings .
Later versions
now turn cache on via settings .
Go to map location Menu Make available offline Select area = new off-line map
So instead of hitting the address and opening a search bar that includes Off Line cache this area . It is now in the menu settings .

Offline maps are not available in Malaysia too.
I'm using offline maps in Bangladesh. Works great. Up to 29mb per block which pretty much covers Dhaka city. On latest map

North of Spain: even with today's (16/08) new version of Google maps, o get the same issue: I cannot get offline maps from any area

When you're off Wi-Fi or 3G/4G, you'll have 'OFFLINE LIST' below the map.
For me, 6.12.0 sometimes shows this 'Not Available' and sometimes fails to completely download a map, but deleting the unfinished download and restarting the application seems to fix it.
P.S. Came here from Google and just now saw that this topic is in the S III forum - well, I don't think this issue is specific to it - it also manifests on my Galaxy Nexus.
No good in Korea
I am in Seoul, and it does not work here. It works for other countries (US, Europe...) though.
I wonder is there something about Korea. Last year, there were zero games in Android market here, because of some local laws. It has been solved since.
you still have to deal with the offline maps getting seizures randomly during navigation. the only way is to quit nav and come back in otherwise it won't update location and start showing grey squares.....
no idea why it's an offline map issue only

Do you know if is possible to install two different versions of an app on Android?

Hi there,
you are absolutely correct with the License Issue:
support.google.com/gmm/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2650347&topic=2649131&ctx=topic
Get something like the Route 66 app. You can all the maps I guess for free as long as don't want navigation ...
Another Work around?
Back when I was using a jail broken iPhone 3G....there was a method of downloading ALL Google Maps files you wanted via a special program and then storing them in the iPhone for use off line. This activity was NEVER envisioned by either Google or Apple.
Why can't this feat be duplicated for Android?? Would solve all those irritating, "Map not available for this region" problems...
I have the S4 int version with 4.2.2, and i can't install the old version of maps.Did all the preparation with deinstalling the updates for the current Maps, and enables the "install from unknown sources".Ask me do i what to install it,and when i hit yes, show me "the app is not installed".
.
Anyone with 4.2.2 or newer, successfully installed the 6.11.1 maps application?
Hi, I just bought this and the package arrived an hour ago the update is downloading but for some reason, my google card (I don't know why but I only have weather and stories) won't sow up :| and location the google app settings give me error when I open them!
but anyway the only thing i see on my lg gwatch is the steps and notifications like viber, how can i get more cards and then add them to my g watch? like even the simple weather!
and my bigger problem is that whenever i try to create any kind of remind it doesn't work, it works on the google app on my phone. other stuff like note to self or "how tall is the empire state building" work!
EDIT: After updating to lastest version reminders work. still no google cards ;(
Android Wear app is us to date? As well as Google app? What OS?
Latest Google app versions don't display separated cards anymore, but you should get one that you can swipe to see other cards.
You said that settings of Google app don't open? Try clearing data on phone then reconfigure it.

You mentioned VPN, so maybe you are in a country where Google Now doesn't work (for some reason that Google thinks it's not supposed to work)?

Nothing useful on that post. already read that and it says "Blank" not no google cards at all!
Not useful for fixing it maybe (now, new replies may be added with more info), but useful because it's the same issue. Good luck.

Thank you
Yes
Did you try? Thank you
Oh my fault! I read "play"
As I read on the internet "it should work". Can only test it as soon as mine has arrived.
I've set mine up but I don't typically use Google pay. If I have the opportunity to use it I'll let you know. It appears to be functional though.
thank you very much, if you set it up will work !
Also wondering if NA bank apps would also work?
Base on Michael Fisher youtube review...he seems to have issue seting up google pay.
Keen on this phone...anyone who got it please do feed back if it works with google pay for contactless payment.
Yes Please...if anyone has the Find N and can verify if Google Pay works it would be very appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

Almost pulled the trigger here in Canada but was waiting for someone to have tried google account sync (contacts and calendar) as well as Google pay. Those that are selling it on eBay and no reviewer has said either work (with proof). Hence why I would love if someone can report back here.

I just emailed PDAPlaza asking whether or not they can verify that as I have ordered one but didnt think about the issue of the sync…will let you know what I hear back.
Google pay and banking apps all working fine for me
Google pay works fine for me as do all other Google apps.
Anyone seeing what some of the reviewers have said with apps sleeping and no notifications? Any other watch outs for Google apps not behaving?

Ya, Michael Fisher said he did that but for whatever reason, he was still not getting notifications consistently from the apps he did this to. Oh well....guess people have to try it themselves to truly believe it.
I was so excited to get on here and let you know my seller, PDA Plaza has verified that Google Pay indeed works as does syncing of Google accounts such as calendar and contacts but others beat me to it but good news none the less. I now have to wait to get the phone but just a heads up that Constatine at PDA Plaza has been a fantastic help and really great to work with.
There is a setting under the apps menu to allow the app to run as a foreground service. If you select this then app notifications come through instantly everytime just like any other phone. You so have to allow the app to send notifications as it is set to off for each app by default.

Yes it is and it works - but it is limited to only 5 apps. I would need a lot more apps to work in the foreground. Any solution?
