I have been sitting here all day searching on xda. I have the L24 running a nougat custom rom, went to flash an update for twrp, rebooted, no twrp, now i get the "download EMUI recovery" message. I am at a loss what to do, searched and searched, can someone point me to a thread I am not finding? I thought I could just reinstall twrp via fastboot but for some reason i get no response via command window on pc when phones connected. I have never had to post on here asking for assistance am hoping I did so correctly.
Just download the full firmware for your model and flash via dload. If you have not heard of this, there is a quick guide in my signature for dload method. Good luck. Let me know in case need more help
Thanks, I ended up reflashing Twrp via fastboot.

Hi all,
Currently I'm on B371
I unlocked my bootloader, flash with TWRP 2.8.7.0 and then try to install SuperSU. After reboot my phone, it goes to permament bootloop.
When I'm in TWRP mode, phone memory is visible by my PC. When it's in bootloop and Honor logo is visible I can install HiSuite on my PC from phone and it's also visible by "adb devices".
What can I do to retrieve my phone?
Thanks for any help.
Flash this, it's the root package from WBT, I've got the same probleme after rooting on B371 and then I flashed this file, it fixed the problem.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3O4DzQkXNR4aFoxbXk5cmZPRlE/view?pref=2&pli=1
Or you can flash your stock recovery.img with "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" command in rescue(bootloader) mode. And after that you can install your B371 rom again by 3 button way. If you want to root again, use TWRP 3.0.2 and SuperSU 2.62.
Thanks! I used Nexx_ method. It works. If I can ask, what is WTB?

The stock recoveries are towards the bottom of the post. You can use Rashr or flashify from play store to flash. I prefer Rashr personally.

your phone must also pass the system partition check
you need an untouched system.img so you can revert to stock
If you want to avoid all this in the future it's quite simple
before doing anything to your phone with the phone turned off
plug phone into PC / hold volume down + power to enter the bootloader
from the PC command prompt use
fastboot boot TWRP.img
after it boots go to Backup and backup
Boot
Recovery
system (not system.img)
cust
oeminfo
efs1
efs2
firmware
modem
Save this backup to your PC so you can restore it for the next OTA update
Note: when restoring for the update only restore Boot / Recovery / System
the rest of the files are just in case something happens to your phone and you need them.

Hi, if I install TWRP and then do a complete backup will it backup my stock recovery as well or is there another way to backup the stock recovery?
P.S. I already have the backup of L22- B340 and when restored it doesn't get back to stock recovery. I'm completely clueless about how to extract the stock recovery.

Unroot, do a factory reset and try to apply update again.
If that does not work, you can always try a force update.

I don't see how wiping data would remove TWRP, but the way I'd reestablish TWRP once it's gone would be to LGUP the Tungkick 10d tot file and then use that TWRP to flash the 20c zip by Autoprime. Flash SuperSU one way or another and then have a blast. I'm sure there are other ways to accomplish all this, but this way is easy and has been reliable for me.
It seems that you can still boot the phone.
If you still have valid bootloader the issue is not that tricky.
Just do a "adb reboot bootloader" and reflash twrp, like how you installed them in the first place.
I'm not sure which exact version of twrp is compatible with v20*, but that should be easy to find anyway.
Then boot into twrp and flash supersu/magisk/any other thing you need.

So I did a factory reset from the settings menu. Now it boots back into TWRP. Weird. But that's it. No OS. Just the recovery. So I guess I'll try and flash a ROM and see if I can get that back. Thanks for trying to help.

Yeah, as long as the ARB is the same (ANTIROLLBACK 01) you can flash 10 after 20. I don't think 10a qualifies, but 10d should be okay from 20a or 20c.
It's a quirk of the G5 that TWRP can only be accessed from boot by factory reset of the phone. If you are already up and rooted, you can use a command or program AFTER boot to access TWRP without factory reset. But, for now, that's our doorway into TWRP from power-off.
Now that you're in TWRP you can sideload a ROM onto your SD and flash it, just remember to also flash the latest superSU zip afterward to ensure root (unless your ROM is pre-rooted.)
Dear XDA Experts!
As I was flashing on my Redmi Note 4 Snapdragon Global (mido) LineageOS 15.1 step by step using instructions from LineageOS site I came up with a problem. Suddenly the the fastboot command didn’t “see” my phone. Before that when I was typing in the command prompt (as administrator) “adb devices” it said it found my phone. When I typed “fastboot devices” it turned out it didn’t “see” my phone so I couldn’t do the “fastboot flash recovery twrp-x.x.x-x-mido.img” command. However before fastboot stopped detecting my device I was able to do this command “adb reboot bootloader”. It turned out later that adb still was detecting my device but fastboot still was NOT detecting it.
So to flash TWRP on my phone I used a XiaomiFlashTool in which I could among other options choose to flash TWRP.
I selected this option, the XiaomiFlashTool that in order to even start and work needs access to the Internet it download the latest file twrp-x.x.x-x-mido.img with TWRP for my device and flashed it.
Now, having the TWRP installed I flashed in TWRP the file containing the LinageOS and afterwards I flashed Gapps instantly with no reboot as it was written in the guide. Then I rebooted the device to normal system mode.
The LineageOS started for the first time, I configured it and Gapps were present.
Later I’ve chosen to root the phone so I booted to TWRP and selected Install to install Magisk17.2.zip but it didn’t work cause an error occurred “couldn’t mount /data”. It was all red.
When I try to do the same thing with superSu the same problem occurred.
Could You tell me what I did wrong?
And which drivers/install programs to use to repair or uninstall and install fastboot again so It can work cause there are so many of them and the LineageOS guide doesn’t cover that thing in 100% ?

I used the latest TWRP for mid (I saw when the XiaomiFlashTool was downloading the latest TWRP for mido).
May I ask why shall I use a Treble compatible since my Redmi Note 4 was manufactured in 2017 and came with not Oreo but with Nougat so it is not compatible with Project Treble from the start.
BTW Can You please direct me to that Treble compatible TWRP please?
BTW#2 The Xiaomi tool only flashes the latest TWRP .img for mido by downloading it from the internet (I can't change which TWRP will it flash).
BTW#3 The only thing I can think off to flash other TWRP is by fastboot but can You help me which or where to find it so I can uninstall current fastboot and install again or repair by installing again?

That's a great idea but sadly I can't flash TWRP anymore. I don't know what happened. The Xiaomi program I was using to do this suddenly stopped flashing it telling me that there's something wrong with drivers
When I do "fastboot flash recovery TWRPforMido.img" it "flashes" the file in less then a second and when I enter recovery I see the old Xiaomi 3.0 stock recovery.
I have the device unlocked, developer options with USB debugging are ON.
I'm compleatly idealess.

Nope I don't.
But I finally flashed stock, TWRP for mido (not Orange) and Magisk for root and I'm so tierd now
Just tell me what shall I do next to install 1. Lin Os (their guide is not accurate in 100%) 2. Some custom romwith project treble and Android Pie, some popular good stuff

I've heard that Crdroid official
And Siberia os unofficial are the most stable pie ROMs
Make sure it twrp is treble supported becuz someone told that official twrp has no treble support that's the reason I use orange fox
If it ain't treble supported just flash orange fox from the same twrp
Do advanced wipe
Install from and gapps

Could You do step by step 1., 2. what I shall do (at the example of Linage OS). And what about that advanced wipe thing. People that told me steps just like You didn't mention Advanced wipe
I tried the latest twrp from the official website, but to no avail
Anyway, i installed PE+ with their official recovery, but now i can't flash magisk or any module
I'm wondering if it can be done (twrp or orange fox) without having to lose all my rom data, as i am alredy settled with my current ROM
Ps: when i tried i flashed at partition be, i have no clue as to why i didn't want to boot to recovery even tho the installer said it actually said it was flashed
Thanks in advance

Yes you can flash any recovery without loosing any of your data
Check the current partition and flash recovery in that partition

the latest official TWRP was released in June 2020. TWRP is not working for me as well after Mi update of Sept 2020.
Now if I install TWRP and boot into system via recovery, it takes me back to Fastboot. I was lucky to have a copy of Stock boot img. @Hugask

I had flashed twrp in september build also.
Try using 3.4.0.0 or 3.3.1.7
