As we all know face id or face unlock has arrived in miui custom build roms like miui pro and multi rom etc..
It is little bit slow but the idea of unlocking your device with your face is worth having..so
So my question is that is there any possible way to build this feature in custom nougat roms. any custom rom for our kenzo. As it is there in miui rom but most of the users kinda like stock android rom.
Go to settings-> security-> smart lock-> trusted face.
Btw, it was available in android from jellybean, though it's not as perfect as apple's face id and it won't work in low light, it's still pretty decent feature.
Hope this helped you.
Yeah, and it can be fooled with a picture of you. Tried and it worked, unfortunately.

I know what smart lock is but i am asking for a unlock id like the dev used in miui pro rom that face data thing which automatically unlocks as it detects your face

It's actually the same thing. Iphone X has different sensors and also an infrared reciever and blaster in the front camera. Miui pro ROM only has copied and implemented the smart unlock technique from google and renamed it to attract more users.

Smart unlock does not unlock automatically you have to swipe up right?! And in miui pro it unlocks automatically even though its fake or whatever but its a nice touch in unlocking your device

You can use smart unlock feature in gravity box [N] to automatically unlock with trusted face or even trusted bluetooth devices. Although you will need to install xposed for this.

what do you mean?
i can confirm miuipro 's FaceID is safe & it can't unlock with your photo. FaceID & Smartlock is different , by using smarklock you can only unlock the device pattern/pin, not directly home screen. but in FaceID you directly unlock the home scceen. XIOMI should implement this in future update
Bro, use autoinput to get face unlock. It is new feature so it can be used only without protected lock screen

Miui pro has the future and is fast one cannot fool it
https://www.xda-developers.com/autoinput-update-mimics-oneplus-5t-face-unlock-android-7/
This might be what you are looking for and it should work on all custom roms
Okay so i manage to make this work in android 6 and 7
First i installed xposed installer then i installed a module name IFU and now smart unlock automatically jumps into homescreen without swiping the screen. For this to work we need rooted device, smart lock fearure, correct xposed version,IFU Module thats it.
I also used gravity box but it had unnecessary customization as i just wanted face unlock si i switched to this module

Just thought I'd point out that the Xposed module "Unlock effect before security code" designed for the S4 works nicely on the S5

Make sure you turn off security on the lock screen first, set the effect and then turn security (pattern etc) back on.

Works with fingerprint scanner
Dude, this was exactly the thing I was searching for since my previous phone is a S3 Mini which could do this out of the box. Now I've got my favourite lockscreen security = fingerprint and my favourite unlock effect = ripple This thread should be GOLD xD Thanks for sharing

That's one of the reasons I don't want to update to Lollipop, the other being that most mods here are for KitKat.

I'm not the developer but in the original linked thread. I believe that feature has been requested!
Currently if you use the action to sleep, it will interfere with MIUI camera function, sleeping the device instead of taking a picture.

Early version of the xposed implementation was just completed. I upload it for test only, you need to bear the risk of testing yourself. In addition to xposed implementation, it is no different from the 0.5.0 version, if you do not want to test the Xposed module, there is no need to update.

This is an app you need to install yourself. Doesn't come pre-installed.
The latest version can be found attached to this post or also available from xda labs <<< Open with XDA Labs app.
Fingerprint Gestures
There is an alternative app called "Fingerprint Gestures" that people may like to try instead. But requires allot of permissions.
It marked my device as incompatible, but is also available from xda labs.
Edit: - Just tested on my device and is incompatible for a reason, it doesn't work.

I've been searching for that feature left and right ... i have no idea why it doesn't exist.
Edit : MIUI Pro has a feature where it can utilize the Home Button for answering, but that is not a physical button or sensor. Pretty useless if u ask me.

99% there won't be a pick up call gesture in that app , it needs to be made specifically for the device i think. Built into a Rom or something.

Not needed, fingerprint is a feature present in all newer devices actually, it just need some elevated permissions to work correctly. It works perfect in miui roms, I didn´t try yet in aosp roms.
Of course all of the apps that are implemented natively with the rom they suppose to work better, more responsive and with a lower battery consumption.
Hey guys as you know google I/O is finished and android q is intruduced
And a good news is mi 9 is in beta device list
If you have unlocked bootloader you can try it now
But these issues is present in this version
1. Alarm does not ring when the device is switched off.
2. Device restarts after user selects wireless projection device in the “Wireless display”.
3. “Settings” app stops running after user deactivates shortcut to mute device.
4. “Settings” app stops running when “Gesture” is selected in “Settings”
5. “File” app stops running after refresh.
6. Unable to switch screen color in “Settings”
7. Unable to ‘Add a fingerprint’
https://www.mi.com/global/androidqbeta/
Thanks. Not really worth it atm, but i'll try it as soon as it's stable enough.
It seems that google must add under display fingerprint support natively in android
All devices that have this type of fingerprint cant use it on this version

Does it have pure Android UI like pixel or it's the ugly miui?
It's pure Android, but pretty unoptimized. Feels choppy, has aliasing in the "round corners" of the display and only supports Chinese and English language.

That's great. Maybe could be a good base once it gets optimized a bit more.
its very buggy and cant use as a daily driver
gesture navigation is exactly what xiaomi is doing since android 8
i hope that dark mode brings really black background not a gray one but it seems that google is trying pure black on some of the os but not completed
and my summery is android q is just a polish on android pie and nothing big is happening
i like privacy upgrades
oh and one thing more
at startup there are English and Chinese but after that in setting all languages are present
Hate this miui 10 for hiding notification icons on status bar, hope they showing in Q, cheers
If it's anything like the Mix 2S Android P beta, this will be the only build for it.

That is sad, but it makes sense that Xiaomi doesn't want to provide an official stock rom since it means that users might not be using MIUI, which their business model is based around.

All Xiaomi's non-Android-One devices have a 360h wait time before unlocking their bootloaders.

Follow the instructions exactly on the original thread and the top of the app itself. Turn off AOD and give all permissions. When selecting the apps you want to enable click the app name and select the color you want for that particular app (It doesn't seem to work unless you do that), the name of the app will change to that color. Once it's working you can switch AOD back on.

I'm on global Pie too and it didn't work until I assigned colors to the enabled apps. Ensure you click confirm for the colors.
However try these solutions:
1) Reboot your device and enable again
2) Uninstall and reinstall
3) Disable AOD before setting up
4) Ensure notification access, autostart etc are enabled.
5) Lock the app in recents
6) Basically give it all the permissions it requires.

Hmmm. App was working great until a few days ago when it started draining the battery on my Nex. All of sudden it started showing up near the top of the battery stats. Uninstalled and everything is back to normal but I miss the functionality. Maybe the next update will rectify whatever it is the developer changed.
