I'm assuming you mean screen protectors? The original one that came with the phone is great... just try not to get dust underneath it. Makes it unsalvagable
As for other screen protectors... well, you get what you pay for. I bought a pack of 12 for about $15. A $1 screen protector is exactly that.
In terms....
If you're talking about the today screen then yes. Download the .Cab files on your device and open it on your device. Try that for now and if it say like exe. then more then likely you would have to active sync your comp to phone. good luck
I meant screen protector
the one that came with the phone is smaller then the screen.
Very annoying.
Yeag ut do
Try it but dont buy it... your phone will more then likely dent and scratch but it happens over the years. by the time your know it; youll be buying a new phone anyway. Im on my 4 xda over 2 years. IF your with t mobile; they will go into a big change really soon. phone is already in transaction to catch the 3G internet. Save that $15 to your nexts phone! by the time your know it 6 months later you have $45. good luck
I use Boxwave screen protectors with this device and all my past devices. I have good luck with Boxwave. One screen protector will last you 9 months to a year. I normally just carry my Wing (and my previous devices) in my front pocket with the screen turned inwards to my leg. No keys, pens, change or other things in the pocket. Never have had a problem this way.
I use ShieldZone's full case cover(film) on my wing...
even though the place I work doesn't sell them, I still take my keys to the case just to prove the point that cases/protectors are worth it..
I keep my Wing in my pocket, frequently with my money clip and/or pens... 2 months it's still in *great* condition.. sure the cover is getting a bit dirty, but I know when i remove the cover months down the road to replace it it'll probably look like new again
I just ordered a set of protectors from NuShield. They seem like a really great product. I'll let you know how they are when they get here. It was 3 for $11.99 US.
Im into selling phones and one thing I've noticed is that WM phones don't depreciate as much as say a Razr would. I read a comment about someone who says you shouldn't get one (and I respect everyone's opinion,) but that wouldn't be very smart. If you keep your phone in good condition + keep a screen protector on it by the time you come to sell it and buy a new phone you will be able to put more money on your new purchase (with the money made from selling your old phone) than you would with just the 15 you would save from buying a screen protector. For me this is a no brainer. Get a screen protector, and I don't mean the one that comes with it, buy a good one for like 20$.
Atleast once you do you won't care about touching her delicate parts cuz you'll be using protection
I just got my NuShield screen protectors in today and I think they rock. They're of a very strong plastic material that is absolutely clear, and it completely covers the screen, even under the bezel, without using any adhesive. No bubbles, nothing between the protector and the screen, absolutely perfect display. Cannot even tell it is there.
I read a post in another thread where someone bought a sizable skin from bestskinsever.com. I tried it out because they said they had such good luck with it. Its the first screen protector that I have ever put on that actually is invisible. No dust, no bubbles, looks perfect. You use a soap solution before you put it on and slide it into place. I used my fingernail to get the edges of the screen protector underneath the edges of the phone. Seriously, it looks like its not even there. Oh yeah, they are cheap as hell too.
i buyed a schreen protector , exactly to herald .. it cost $22 (it was only one schreen protector) .. i have it about 15 months of full gaming by stylus, and surving net by picsel brovser (a lot of slides by stylus) and i dont have 1 scratch on it... it is realy perfect .. perfect fits on my schreen, and it seems, it is undestroyable... very happy with it ...
i would say, you better buy one more expensive for a long of time than be still buing that, where one cost $1.. (my opinion)
Man, my friggin digitizer crack one day, literally like a sheet of thin ice even with a case on. Now, the new one has a tiny scratch and I haven't done anything to it. I have never had such a fragile digitizer on any phone before. Only thing that really bothers me coming from HTC MyTouch 4g where I was in a bar fight and my phone was dragged across the floor and only had scratches, never cracked when it should have been destroyed, lol. Anybody else thing the digitizer is crappy?
Don't get me wrong either, I am careful with my phone, i just can't believe how badly it shattered on a short drop. Annoying as hell!!
I've dropped my phone with and without my commuter case at least a dozen times on a construction site without even a scratch.

Funny you say that. All touchscreen phones are like this. Thin glass. And being that motorola generally makes quality hardware and the plastic on the atrix absorbing impact better than metal phones, methinks you need to take better care of your phone. I see a lot phones during the work week and it seems ive seen a lot of cracked iphones lately. Im not fond of apple but i concede that their phones are high quality. Cant fault a phone or its manufacturer for dropping your phone. You sound silly when you make the mistake but shift the blame.
I voided my warranty.
My first Atrix was tossed out of the car at onto asphalt. I didn't have a case or screen protector on it and after picking up the cover and the battery, everything was fine. A couple scratches and bumps in the plastic but everything worked fine.
The screen finally broke on a fast ball pitch straight down to the floor.

If I wasn't comparing it to past phones I could see you saying it was shifting blame. Kind of silly that you are not too bright.

Lmao..was she jealous over your phone? I'm sure sometimes my wife would like to "drop" my phone lol..
OP..I've dropped mine getting out of my truck onto ashpalt (3-4ft drop) and it came out completely unscathed..so who know..you either got really bad luck..or need to try harder being careful
Ive dropped my phone onto concrete, rocks, grass, tile, carpet all without a case on. 1 MINOR ding n no scratches. I got a otterbox on it now though. Luck sucks.

Yeah i agree :\
My atrix fell out of my pocket when getting out of the car, even with the Otterbox Commuter it still smashed :S
I've ordered a new digitalizer to replace myself, $70 later.
lol my atrix sliped off my leg and fell 3 feet and got broken screen over the buttons @the bottom now

You know.. I gotta say, I absolutely love the build quality on this thing.. I was worried about not having a case for it at first..
But, my girlfriend accidentally dropped it like christmas even and that is the only scratch on the thing.. it is a small nearly unable to be noticed scratch on the very bottom right side. And that was onto a brick fireplace by total fluke. (She didn't realize the box wasn't sealed shut and it somehow popped out.)
After having this thing nearly a month, it being in my backpack a few times, my pocket and other places..
I see no scratches dings or anything.. which is pretty impressive. While I have taken pretty darn good care of it.. normally by now you will have something on any given piece of electronic.
Are the HTC phones this good? I'd honestly consider settling for lower specs in the future as long as the build quality was this good... Naturally I have and would use a screen protector but, I must say I am very happy with the current no scratch goodness of my tablet.
Yes, they are built well. I did drop mine from about 3-4 feet and it hit a corner in a case on a hard floor and the LCD went bad. I replaced it and all is well.
I dropped mine down a crack on a sleeper sofa and it put a nice gouge on the side of the tablet, but otherwise it's pretty good. Got a little nick on the screen as well. But otherwise, it certainly feels like a premium device.
Dropped mine screen first on a parking lot. Only a corner was scratched.
HTC is the best. I can't believe the majority of people think Iphones in the same league. You can't even mount it as a flash drive for christ sakes, you have to go through Itunes, after you have to update it every week or it doesn't work lol.
I'll probably get thrown off the forums for admitting this, but I'm an iPhone / Mac user and the View has really impressed me in terms of build quality. HTC's software "improvements", on the other hand... :/

All of these products are designed to enhance our lives in ways ranging from fun to productivity.
While we may disagree on preferences or reasons to use certain products, none are really more or less valid than anyone elses.
I don't deny personally having a strong dislike of Apple products, but they are gadgets not a religion.

you should still get the screen protector as its screen is not a gorilla glass.....more so if you are using pen a lot.....you will get the scratch sooner than later bro! and there are quite a few clear screen protectors around, so grab one!

Absolutely get a screen protector. They also help reduce glare (if you go with a matte one) which is a real problem with this tablet if you like to watch movies.
I had a screen protector on my Nook Color also, and just before I sold it I put a deep gouge into it by pushing too hard on a cheap capacitive pen. Thanks to my screen protector I was able to sell the Nook with a clean screen, rather than one with a deep gash.
I have a screen protector, but no case on my Flyer. The powder coat aluminum casing seems really durable, and I've been really impressed with it. I've owned it since June I think. I can't seen any scratching on it, despite being laid on tables constantly.
My Desire Z phone has a brushed aluminum battery cover on back, which has a lot of superficial scratches. But the soft touch plastic around it does not show scratches. Every HTC phone is a bit different (a few too many different design, some might say). But in general, they have the highest quality casing design in the business, IMO.

Yeah, I can't count how many times I've set my tab on a table and I feel something scraping the bottom that I didn't see when I looked at the table..
Scared the crap out of me the first few times.. I am quite pleased to have no scratches from it yet.
also, I have a screen protector on my flyer.. Found a cheapo zagg at bestbuy.
Tottaly agree. I really like the build quality of the HTC Flyer. The HTC Flyer is my first permanet tablet. I started with a Samsung 8.9 but it went back to the store.
Hey guys! I've got a bit of a problem, all of the sudden really small dents are starting to appear on the screen of the device, they are almost unnoticeable but they are certainly there.
I haven't done anything such as dropping it to the floor, mixing it with keys or coins in the past days. Just being in the pocket! On Friday I had two scratches, today i have four!! They are not deep and they are not dirt.
It seemed such a strong device! about four months ago I accidentally dropped it onto the sidewalk and then to the asphalt of the street and it was intact!
Anyone has had this problem before? Do you think Nokia would take care of it for free, since It hasn't been an accident?
Oh well, I knew this would happen at some point. The scratch free curved screen was to good to be true lol.
The screen is very strong, I stopped using a screen protector more than 3 months ago and even a few big drops haven't damaged it. However even the Gorilla Glass can suffer some wear and tear: micro scratches will start to appear from time to time, but at least in my case they're very faint, and you won't be able to see them unless you look very closely and at a certain angle against some strong light. To me this is really irrilevant, and honestly it doesn't make me go back to a screen protector: the screen will still be totally pristine compared to the look and feel of whatever screen protector you may have. I'll check back in a few months or so to see how it fares, but so far so good. I'd still be using one if those amazing real glass ones were available for this phone, but going for anything less than that would feel like a complete waste and a major downgrade to me right now. Obviously if you have to deal with sand on a daily that's a different story, but not my case at all.
How about those scratches you have, are they deep? Can you feel them with a fingernail? Otherwise (if you simply got those ones I described above) I guess it's pretty common wear and tear, even for a Gorilla Glass, and you probably shouldn't worry too much about it. We're men after all, we're not supposed to be so OCD with our things after all IMHO
Nooooo!!!!
I have only had my phone for 2 weeks and I was sitting outside of Starbucks with my phone on my lap, and this yellow jacket bee kept flying around me. So I stood up to get away from it, while forgetting my phone was on my lap. CRASH! My V30 without a case falls off my lap about 20 inches down onto the cement.
It caused a small spider web crack in the corner of the back glass. One of then cracks extends to the camera lens area. On thr bright side the screen is fine and the camera lens is fine with no cracks. Plus its only mostly the corner thats cracked on the back. But still, it really really sucks since I just got this phone.
I know some of you are thinking I was stupid for not having a case. Maybe so, but keep in mind I pretty much never had cases on my 6P or my S7 Edge. I only dropped my 6P once real bad on a hard surface (fell out of pants with a smaller pocket while sitting) which only left a scuff on the edge with the display fine, and never once dropped my S7 on a hard surface in over a year with it. So I have always been super careful with my phones. Never dropping my phone in years that was a result of my clumsiness or carless.
I guess its just a matter of time though no matter how careful you are handling your phone. Its bound to fall somehow when its not your fault. Like sliding off a slippery surface, falling out of a small pocket, or similar. Anyways I called a local phone repair shop and the good news is the back glass is only $70-$75.
I don't think I am going to get it done just yet since the display is fine, camera lens is fine, and its only the corner of the back. But I probably will eventually before I resell the phone in 1-2 years. Anyways kind of disappointed a military certified phone cracked for such short fall. This is why I prefer metal backed phones so much more. Anyways hopefully this info of how easy it cracks and the cost to replace the back out there being pretty cheap helps some others out there.
*Puts case back on my V30*
Yeah, I watched a couple of videos on what happens to GG 4 & 5 with drop tests and decided mine would stay in a case. Added bonus of keeping finger prints off of the actual phone back and just on a plastic case.
I have several cases I've bought to put on my LG V30 when I actually buy the phone. You can buy very good cases for even a couple of dollars on ebay. I started the LG V30 cases thread, because most people don't know that.
You can even buy clear cases if you still want to show off the phone.

Yeah I already have a case, I just didn't have it on because I don't really like having one. I got it on now though. Ita a slim fitting case by Lumion. I never heard of this case company before but I really like it. I'm probably going to give the Spigen Crystal case a try too.

At least you know it can be repaired easily.
If the glass is still smooth, you can always put a skin over it.
This is one concern causing me pause in my purchase. Why there can't be a nice carbon fiber replacement back for this phone, I don't know. Motorola had a good idea going with the "design your own phone" during the Droid Turbo / Turbo 2 days, they just gave up on it too early.

That's the beauty of carbon fiber composites. The resin it's molded in is waterproof, gluing is about the only way to attach it to anything, it can be built up as thick as needed to create a reliable sealing edge or stiffness to the back. And it's radio transparent, so no issue with wireless charging. It can be textured, to make it more grippy.
The ccf aesthetic isn't for everyone, I get that, but it would be great as an option, and would be completely workable.
That is a bummer that it cracked. I am super impressed by the strength of this device though, my embarrassing story about it. Bought a new TV for my living room, decided I needed to take my old TV down to the basement and thought I could wrangle the 60" TV by myself, took two steps down and slipped, fell super hard all the way down the stairs with my phone in my back pocket. Huge bruises on my back, butt, arm and legs, the phone I was positive was a goner. Took it out of the case and to my amazement not a scratch and the glass looks perfect, however there is a size-able dent on one side of the phone and it is pushing the screen out. Everything works perfect and like I said, it did not crack at all, I am not a small guy, between me and the TV it took a 300 lb hit on the edge of a step and then several more hits down the stairs.
Of course I went to T-Mobile and they laughed and said "We can't take a bent phone back" luckily I am still in the 14 days grace period and will be adding insurance so I can get a replacement. It works, but is a little annoying to use this way. And to end the story on a high note, I did save the TV, did not let go of it!

My wife had dropped her v30 TWICE already in a week... Both times it luckily hit a corner and no glass cracked or scratched. Just a scuff on the metal of each bottom corner. So damn lucky with that so far... her case finally showed up the day after the second drop.

Actually I think the sides of this phone are super reinforced. Way more than more glass phones. I think mine just fell at the absolute worst angle that hit it just right. Just thankfully it was not the display!

Thanks! I also found the glass back is on Ebay for only about $18 and comes with the little tool to replace it. So I might just do that myself. I watched a video of how to take the back off.
I only have 2 worries if I do it myself.
1.) Making sure the new glass back seals on tight enough still be at least mostly water proof and
2.) Removing the finger print sensor from the old back to the new back. The video I watched doesnt show how to remove the finger print sensor. But once I find a video on someone removing and reattaching the finger print sensor, then I will pull the trigger for the $18 glass back.
So much for military certified durability  :crying:
Also you'll lose the ip68 rating by replacing that yourself most lowly just a heads up. Watch the video of Jerry rig everything. When he made a clear v30. Really good on how to open phone
Happened to one of the phones on my account. Fell about 3 feet on a wood floor and the back has a hairline crack. I'll skin it, put it in a case and be done with it.

That's quite a story! That should be in a V30 durability ad. Opening shot of the big dent and bulged screen with the phone speaking in "android voice" saying, "yeah, I took quite a beating, but you should see the other guy!" Then a fade in shot of you looking all sheepish and bruised from head to toe with a final fade out slow-mo reenactment of the fateful tussle.
