Any hope for upgrading old Galaxy Mega 6.3 i527? - Samsung Galaxy Mega

I have searched through these forums and others about upgrading android on this old device Galaxy Mega 6.3 i527. Mainly what I find is for the GT versions.
I currently have a rooted 4.2.2 rom on the phone via Odin. I was just wondering if anyone has attempted any of the later android versions on this phone?
I have watched some videos saying that the upgrades work for all galaxy megas, however if my research is correct, the i527 is different than the rest of the Megas. Curious if there are any custom roms out there or if development has stopped for this device (which I'm beginning to think it has).
Any help in this matter is much appreciated. I apologize if this has been answered lately. However most of the posts I find on this have Zero replies to them.

[Q] Tmobile Samsung GS2 (JB OTA hits what should i do before update?)

Hiya all
I'm new to these forums but ive lurked for a bit off and on.
However I felt it was time to join up as I am getting more and more involved with android development.
Here is the current scenario: I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 (SGH-T989) Currently running the stock firmware (ICS).
I am also rooted and fully enjoy the device and it's flawless operation. But I want to move on to Jellybean as I have heard quite a bit of positive feedback from many users of the newest flavor of android. As such this brings me to my first question rooting after the update.
As I understand it when I update with the OTA JB (that's constantly prompting me) I will be back to a out of box device, No apps, no tweaks, and even worse no root? (if my understanding is faulty or not on point please correct me)
Secondly Has anybody rooted the stock JB with this model of the SSGS2? if so please be as so kind as to direct me to relevant documentation or guides.
That being said Thank you all for your time and I look forward to geeking out on android with all of you from here on out.
Corpsemaker
Cheers!

re-flashing to official software

hello,
after the "sort of recent" reveal of the galaxy s4 i have decided to trade in my gt I9300 to get the s4. but obviously they wont take the phone if its been rooted etc, i know how to install custom roms and how to go about un-rooting and reseting the flash counter. so bring my question....
where would i go to get a version of android 4.1.2 for the gt I9300. i have googled around but only seem to come across silly articles about leaked versions of 4.2
all help is much appreciated :good:

as mentioned, easiest way is sammobile.com, download the rom and follow the un-root guides and you should be fine.

[Q] I need help with rooting the SGH-T999N version of the Galaxy S III for Metro PCS

I own two phones. An LG motion and a Galaxy S III. Originally, I got the Galaxy S III and all I had to do was switch my SIM card from my LG to it and it worked fine. Recently, I upgraded from the stock version to Android 4.3 and it stopped reading my SIM card. I know that all I have to do is downgrade to the original firmware but I can't seem to find anything that works. I have the SGH-T999N version from Metro PCS. Both phones inlcuding my phon service are from Metro PCS. I have tried making myself a superuser but it's not working probably because I downloaded everything from another version of the Galaxy III. It will not let me remove or uninstall the super user app file. I don't know if that's going to be a problem but it hasn't affected my phone in any way so far.
Does anyone know how to correctly root the SGH-T999N version of the Samsung Galaxy S III from Metro PCS and also downgrade Android 4.3 back to the originial (stock) version of firmware? This site is my only hope and last resort since I can't seem to find the correct information anywhere else. Some sites or people say that there way will work for any Galaxy III but that is definitely inaccurate since I have tried. Please leave step-by-step instructions and any links I might need. I've been rattling my brain with this for days.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

[Q] Difference between the i9200, i9205 and the l600

I have searched and searched and couldn't find any information on the differences between these galaxy mega devices. What I have seen is people saying "don't flash a i9205 or i9200 rom to a l600 device". And my question is what makes these devices so different that would cause them to be bricked? I've seen some AWESOME roms for the i9205 devices and would love to flash it to my l600 with the twrp recovery, but also want to know what differences if any would there be in these devices? The first thing that comes to mind is the fact that the l600 is factory locked to CDMA, but of course with other awesome people here at xda that can fixed. So other than that, are there componet differences, or perhaps drivers that are specific to the i9205 that aren't correct for the l600? I have my l600 running on GSM network with lte even at times, but i'm stuck on the 4.2.2 rom as well. That's why i'm asking this, because if the difference is just the bands used, then I would think that it would be ok to flash a rom for a i9205 galaxy mega to a l600 galaxy mega. Also, would the custom rom touch my modem messing up the changes I made to the band selection? Thanks!

I'm stuck on 4.2.2 because i chose not to let it update, plus my phone is rooted so the ota updates don't work. But i unlocked my phone so that i can use my att service with it. updating the mega with the ota updates updates the modem and bootloader with knox which doesn't allow for flashing custom roms.
I want to bump this thread because I too want to know the answer. The L600 I have is only being used as a tablet, so as long as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth work I could care less about the cellular functionality.
Nobody?
If your phone has recovery installed. Why don't you add mumtirom, and try flashing the ROM as a secondary and see what happens. If it works, you're golden. If it doesn't, you didn't lose anything.
Multirom doesn't support SPH-L600

Starting out, what Rom might work with a Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3

I don't know if this should have gone somewhere else, but I have done a search and I cannot seem to find any information about upgrading the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3. It came out in 2013, and there are older phones listed in the forums. I'm using the phone on Sprint now, but it hasn't had a update in more than a year.
If someone could point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.

You need root, custom recovery (TWRP, CWM or Philz touch), then there's Custom ROMs, which will be your newest (And only) options to upgrade your ancient Samsung device, since Samsungs update record is total garbage. ,
