Nova Launcher Prime and what doesnt work - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have the paid Nova Launcher on my Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra (Nougat 7.0.0) and here is what doesn't work: If phone is locked and a Calendar notification goes off the notification flashes then disappears from home screen so I lose ability to snooze.
Email notifications don't work
Light Flow app for customizing LED for selected contacts.
Went back to the Xperia launcher and all works.
Really disappointed as I used Nova launcher with my Blackberry Priv (Marshmallow) and all of the above worked fine. That's when I bought it.
If anyone can assist in making the above work with Nova I'd be very grateful

Lost widget

Since I changed from the stock homescreen to APW and the tools widget isn't visible anymore. (That great block widget with buttons for airplane mode, brightness, data, bt, wifi, etc.)
Does anyone know why I can't use it in ADW or how to get it?
Many of the Sony widgets only work with the Sony default launcher. They use some special stuff that's just exclusive to the Sony launcher.

Sony Xperia S lockscreen

I had a go on my friends Sony xperia s and the lockscreen is really cool, it lets you controlled your music and preveiw text messages and missed calls, I was just wondering if there's a mod anywhere for CM7 or a theme for widgetlocker or milocker that has full functionality like the original lockscreen?
Thanks
nobody has an answer? im guessing it would need to be ported from a sony to the atrix
I also think that you need a port for this.
Meanwhile you can use widgetlocker with xperia theme, music widgets and download a free sms pop up app from the play store.

Beautiful Xperia UI Home Launcher plus Working Widgets (Smooth and Stable) for N7100

Hello everyone,
I tested the Xperia UI Home Launcher along with the Xperia Widgets and was able to get it fully functional. The home launcher is very smooth and stable. And the widgets are really stunning. This is a modded launcher with completely customizable app drawer rows and columns. The App Hide feature is also included in this modded launcher. This is a multi-resolution launcher so it works perfect on the Note 2. Screenshots are provided as attachments.
I take no credit for the work. All credits go to ra3al for modding the home launcher to support multi resolutions and for the gorgeous widgets. His launcher was made for GB and ICS. I tested it on JellyBean and its perfectly functional. You can get more info on his work here.
A rooted phone may not be required for the home launcher and most of the widgets. But I have tested these on a rooted de-odexed rom. So feedback and comments are welcome from testers. All these apps can be downloaded and installed like any other app.
The main Home Launcher can be downloaded here. Before installing the widgets, do note that the widgets can only be picked for the home screen after installing the Widget Picker app.
After installing the Home launcher and Widget Picker, you are good to go to install the following
1, Clock Package
2, Animated Weather Widget
3, Photo & Video Widget
4, Toggle Widget
(Please note that the Toggle Widget is not fully functional and FCs when toggling Backlight. Also note that you need to push this app alone to /system/app folder and set permissions to rw -r -r for the GPS toggle to work properly)
Saumsung widgets like Music player, will be affected in size but not in functionality. Hope you enjoy the Xperia UI. Thank you for your interest. Cheers :good:
Too bad that the animated weather widget is only working with the Xperia UI Home Launcher.
Lol.. same here.. I started experimenting after I saw the weather widget actually I would rather use the widget with Nova launcher. But its just a different look. And feels quite nice too.

[Q] MailDroid Pro Badge Notification

I purchased MailDroid Pro and absolutely love it. The only issue is, I need a notification badge on my DashClock Lockscreen and/or my homescreen. With MailDroid PRO they give you a widget icon that shows a badge of unread emails and it' almost exactly what I need, except for the fact that you can't change the icon or hide the text under the icon.
I am using Nova Launcher and no setting in Nova Launcher let me have an unread badge number or let me hide the label.
I'm using a rooted HTC One with native Google Play Edition ROM installed.
Any work around you know of would be great!!!

Try the new version of Nova launcher, this option is available. If resolved, pls close the thread.

Favorite launcher (home screen)

What's your favorite launcher? Nova seems popular, and I use it, but my favorite one is total launcher currently full version unlocker is on sale for about a day.

It's not super user friendly because it's so customizable. Just an example with my screenshots you tap "net" it opens my web browser Firefox, but when I click on the flashlight now when I tap "net" chrome opens.
I've started using FastKey launcher and I'm loving it. Fastest launcher available right now.
I started using evie launcher. Replaced nova. Not as customizable, but very smooth. Low resources.
I like nova because gesture swipe screen up/down to open apps and notification. No need to tap app icon or swipe status bar, you can do it everywhere on the screen.
Is there any other lighter launcher than nova that have similar gesture?

Try FastKey, it's not pretty but it's brainless and crazy intuitive.
I tried fastkey, then i tried KISS launcher, KISS is better
I also use KISS launcher for a long time and satisfied with it

Yes, fastkey is the best launcher for people who have 100+ apps, I have 684 apps installed. But the dev of fastkey isn't active now.
I like Nova with swipe gesture.
- Swipe right to open Google (using google companion addon)
- Swipe down gesture everywhere at home screen to expand notification
- Open apps by swipping up
- and badges
- popup menu
KISS is the best for me

Same setup here and I've tried all the popular ones, but nothing comes close to Nova
Meh, I still think Nova is superior
Try lawnchair launcher it is customisable pixel launcher with blur option and supports icon pack ls and has swipe gestures
Been using Apex Launcher for ages. For me the key points are the ability to modify the grid on the home page and to be able to hide apps in the drawer. Would like to switch to a more modern launcher (and one that's actually maintained) but haven't found a suitable replacement yet. Tried Nova a couple of times but have always returned to Apex...
Nova all the way. I don't think I've ever used another launcher. And the weird part is I think most people prefer Nova for its gestures but I don't. For me, Nova's best selling point is convincing me that it isn't even there.

I've used quite a few launchers before but now I have Meizu and I love their native interface so I stopped using another launcher
