Audio cues during runs? - Amazfit

Any way to set up audio cues during runs?
Like telling you when to speed up or slow down, or to update you with how far you have run?
I want to look at the watch as little as possible while running.

I know there's a way to get vibration on every km, or other distance, and the one when HR goes over set limit.

[Q] Audio Skips and Pops [Partially Solved]

Here's an interesting problem for everyone to ponder:
My original setup was a stock rom with ryan's lag fix applied. My music played back just fine (WMA and MP3). Since I didn't backup my verizon apps correctly, I recently wiped everything and started over from scratch so I could get the latest update from Verizon. I gained root access again, and now, when I play music through any media player (stock app, winamp, mixZing, pandora, etc), there are noticeable skips in the audio every 15-20 seconds. I realize that pandora may be buffering, but there's no excuse for the others that are reading files from a class 6 microSD card.
Is this happening because I don't have a lagfix applied anymore? If that's the case, then it's incredible disappointing that a phone this powerful needs a hack to make music play back correctly. I don't want to install another lag fix, because, aside from the music, nothing seems to be noticeably slower on the device.
Any ideas?
I'd be interested to hear what solves this, as ever since I upgraded to DJ05 I have had the same audio skips, even on local content.

+1 on audio pops
I had audio problems on a lot of the kernels I've tried with this phone, but the jt stable voodoo 5 kernel doesn't have them. I did have them on his 11/25 version, and on still the greeknic versions I've tried.
It's definitely kernel related. I had that problem on geeknik's and jt 11/16. I'm on jt 11/11 now and I'm fine.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Someone on another forum had this narrowed down to the battery status polling, I think. Can't find the reference now...
Got stock kernal on my phone. No skips. I am rooted. Used to have skips on my last fascinate which I got replaced for the audio skipping problem.

Voodoo kernels don't seem to have the problem on the non voodoo try bumping min cpu to 200
take off your widgets to make sure it's not something simple. Battery widgets can do this
I did just install a new battery guage widget right around when the pops started... if that's the issue, i'm thanking you in advance. This has been quite annoying. I'll go kill the app for kicks here.
Brilliant!! The battery widget did the trick! For reference, I had the guage battery widget installed. Looked great, but caused the skips. Been listening to VBR MP3 now for 20 min and skips.

sorry, i meant to say 20 min and no skips

battery widget
Dittos on the battery widget issue. I was using Circle Battery, killed it and the skipping/popping stopped.
Interesting to know this is the cause of the issue but it's odd that it would cause that to begin with..poorly coded something I suppose.
If anyone's interested, I switched to "Battery Widget" by geekyouup, and it doesn't seem to be causing the pops and skips. Working fine so far.
No battery widgets here. I'm running a fresh StupidFast DJ05 and I'm getting static/popping in doubletwist. Anybody else?
I'm having this problem too, and I'm not running a battery widget. I've only noticed it since I started installing themes. So maybe it's a theme issue? I'm not entirely sure. Also the popping and crackling seem to occur more often when I'm actually doing input and output operations like clicking on apps and whatnot, than when my device is asleep.
EDIT:

This is pretty pitiful. This is only Android phone I've had audio skip/pop issues on. It only happens when I'm running SysTray Monitor as my battery% display and my screen is on. If I have my screen off while using SysTray Monitor, it doesn't skip, and if I have SysTray Monitor off, I get no skips.
As soon as I turn my screen on with SysTray Monitor on, it starts skipping. I'm on DJ05
Didn't happen on my Epic, Moment, or Hero.
I definitely would not have marked this as "solved", because this is not a resolution.
it solved my problem, but i'll go ahead and change the title...
Widget size matters too for whatever reason. For me the 2*1 gauge widget did it but the 1*1 didn't

[Q] youtube: problem with multitasking

seriously, and i mean it.. did you guys have trouble multitasking with youtube?
When you buffer anything inside youtube, and you switch to ANY other app for example browser or calendar or whatever, all the buffer you have done, will gone back to zero !! Wtf!
How stupid this is?? And i wonder why nobody has ever noticed this and complained about it somewhere over the net.
Yes, I have even basic problem with youtube. When I switch to another app, why does the video stop playing? Sometimes, I am only interested in the audio!

Hi, I'm having same prob and I don't think we can do anything to it ;/

No, the video can continue to play but in the background. For example, on a PC, if I have youtube video playing in a browser tab, and I switch to another browser tab - the video continues to play back. So, I can at least listen to audio (which is useful for music videos).
Thanks,
Osho
I have this problem and it annoys me, as I have very slow internet,so last thing I need is for it to restart again.

Yea, i know that if in pc, you switch to another tab, youtube would still continue buffering. But this did not happen in tab's youtube. If I buffer any video, and then i switched to browser, then switch back again to youtube, all the buffers would have gone to zero.
Are you 100% sure you dont have this problem with your stock youtube app?

Are you talking about p1000 or the new gt with honeycomb?
Don't be fooled into thinking that Android's multitasking is that much more robust than iOS. When you move away from an app, the system sleeps the VM that it is running in to devote clock cycles and memory to your current working application. The only way an app can continue to persist alive in the background is to specifically request to remain alive and working on something with background processes. The YouTube app doesn't do this, so when you move away from it the application sleeps.
The only advantage Android has over iOS in terms of multitasking is the easy ability for an app to run background processes if it so chooses. Fortunately no sane app developer is going to write an app that tries to stay completely active in a non-windowing OS.

Okay, i know it make sense to not write an app that tries to stay completely active in background. But wouldnt it make sense for an app such as youtube that needs a lot of buffer (since not all country in the world have fast mobile connection), to be partially active in background, such as the buffering ability?
I think that make sense! And i still wonder why wouldnt honeycomb developer realize this .

I would also like Youtube to be able to play in the background, just like on a PC. Why not? It can't be too hard to programme either.
Swedish national radio, Sveriges Radio, has a good app that allows you to listen to all their programmes and the app runs smoothly in the background while I surf or do other stuff on the tablet. You'll find it at Google Play (former Market) if you're interested.
An other thing that Youtube on Android does not do is to run playlists. Again, why not?
I can't really see the point in removing great features when you develop a new OS. The goal can't really be to make it worse compared to the PC, can it?
labovski said:

If your mostly worried about the playlist feature, it works when running stock browser and you are signed in. All you have to do is tap on the bottom-right corner of the video's preveiw image, afterr tapping, the little '+' shows up

A solution would be using OverSkreen (Browser) and just open youtube in a small window.

Bluetooth Audio Streaming

I picked up my Note the other day and I have come across an interesting situation.
My Mazda3 has built in Bluetooth and I can stream to it no problem. When I did so on my old Infuse, the display on my car only ever said BT, no track number or play timer. Now with the Note, there are areas that show the track and play time. When I play anything with the Samsung music app, the track number increments properly, but the play time stays at 0:00. With Google Music, any track I play shows 600 for track number and the play time stays at 0:00.
Has anyone else experienced anything similar?
EDIT: I should probably mention that for now I'm on stock Gingerbread.
Yea, it's just the way the software works with a2dp from what I understand. Every music app will be a bit different if they support the feature at all.
But then why didn't the Infuse have the same behavior?

Infiniti G37xS
I'm encountering issues. On the stock Note GB ROM, mp3 tag data was showing up in the display of my factory head unit on my Infiniti G37xS.
After applying the ICS leak, this functionality no longer works. This also worked with my Skyrocket and the stock ROM. In all cases, I was using the default "Music Player" application.
Does anyone know of any market players that support tag (or even album art) over bluetooth?
Thanks,
-MK

Sounds like some of the functionality isn't complete or was left out of the ICS leak. Could be either the BT driver or the Music app. Let's hope it gets better with future leaks or official.
I would like to know if there are any apps that support full track info.

I just sent an email to the developer of PowerAmp on this exact subject. I have a Lexus that works just fine with my Son's 4S - displays everything on the screen. So it must be doable and its good to hear that at least GB Note has it somewhat working - so I think it is up to the app developers to get there code tweaked to support it.

Any news from that Dev?
Also CM9 is supposed to enable the track number, time and track info display.
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/20091-request-avrcp-13-for-cars-w-bluetooth-built-in-etc/page__st__30
So there are some differences in ICS versus Gingerbread which give me some hope.
So now on ICS using the same version of Google Play Music Instead of getting the 600 as the track number and 000 as the play time, i just get dashes. But on ICS I actually get the rest of the track info, like artist, song and album. So two steps forward, one step back.
I have included some photos
ICS likes to pause music for a split second while the camera snaps a photo, so BT shows as paused and continues showing that even after playback has resumed. So in the photo you can't actually see the dashes I described.

Sure is, except there is limitations on the res. i.e. no HD slow mo. Still cool
Going out to get some landscape shots in the mountains today. Panaorama inc!
I tried this feature inside my house. For some reason when I click record the screen goes a little darker and that's the way the video comes out as well.
Very cool never the less. Maybe ill try it tomorrow outside.

That's the way photography works... Slow motion is more frames per second, which translates to faster shutter speeds which allow less light into the sensor. Hence darker video unless the iso is boosted, then it gets too grainy... Good light will make a big difference...
It makes NO SENSE (no pun) for the phone to not have slow motion HD recording. None. Buddy of mine at work has the Resound, and we record 720p slow motion all the time. Checked the file's resolution, and it is full 720p. Why would a NEWER phone from the same manufacturer with better hardware and newer software... backpedal?
Pop Player (Speed-Control Video Player)
I highly recommend the free Pop Player app. I recently made a couple of reviews on it on YouTube.
This new video player allows the user to utilize speed-control. The slow-motion
and speeded-motion are extremely smooth too and audio syncs perfectly with
the video at any speed. It can definitely be useful for athletes and students.
Some people I know even use it to replay their golf swings in slow-motion
in order to improve their form.
This player plays MP4 files that contain H264 and AC codecs.

Why does a video player need all those permissions? Read phone state and identity, retrieve running apps, kill background processes, discover accounts, market billing service. It may all be legit, but I wasn't taking any chances. Deleted the app without even running it as soon as I saw the permissions. Should have noticed it before installing the app.

[Q] How do you record Slow Motion video?

I see the guys in the International LG G3 forum talking about recording slow mo, but I don't see any options for the video recording on the Sprint version
I'm sure it's super-obvious, but does anyone know how to do this?
Thanks!!
[EDIT]
I found it! You go to the little gear icon in the top left of the camera application. Click the little "##M" icon that chooses megapixels... it drops down and let's you choose 120HD for slow mo.

Took me a couple of minutes to find also.
I'm glad they gave us the ability to record @ 120 but when it comes to editing how the video looks there are no options.
So even though we can play the video at 1/8 speeds (slowmo) we can't upload or share the video at the speeds. It then just becomes a 720p 120FPS video instead of slomo....
The question that I have is: Where is the ability to edit the video so that certain parts of the video can be slowed down?
Unless I'm missing something on the phone the software is a little lacking in this area.
Thanks for posting this i had no idea we had this capability
