Hello.
I'm trying to install Remix OS on tablet "Lenovo ThinkPad 10" (1gen). Processor Z3795 with Intel 7th Gen graphics. I installed x86 and x64 versions, but there is no touch screen support.
Is there any way to do something about it?
I can't help you with that, but good to know someone's trying!!!
I'm also trying to get a reliable Android OS to run on my Thinkpad 10. I've so far discarded all emulators, and also not in favour of virtual because of low power of our tablets. I've so far only tried Android-x86's ROM and though that's a lovely piece of software, running beautifully with touch and keyboard and pen and all, I can't get it to produce sound nor use bluetooth.

Hello! Any news?

I am thinking about getting the viepad 10 with the intel Atom processor and was wondering if any existing viewpad 10 owners/users have tried dual booting this instead of android. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UNR it is designed for netbooks, so in theory it should work just fine given there are drivers for the hardware. if this would work even with a little tweaking to get all the hardware working, it would be an exceptional tablet IMO, and an excellent substitute for honeycomb. (until it gets ported or released for the tablet)
I would post this in the viewpad 10 section but... there isn't one (yet)
Sorry to bump this topic but I have an answer to your problem. You can get the last version of Ubuntu Netbook Remix working by using this guide:
http://www.ollie-reardon.co.uk/ubuntu-10-10-viewpad-10/
To find what other Linux Distributions work on the Viewpad 10 here is a small list (But it's growing fast!!):

Hope that helps!

Not sure about compatibility with Viewpad 10, but it might provide another option for a starting point.
The Viewpad 10 has got an Intel Atom inside so really it's just a matter of USB booting a Linux Distribution like Ubuntu 11.04.
Hey XDA! This is my first post so bear with me...
Recently Acer announced their new Tegra K1 Chromebook and I have to say it's pretty intriguing. I really want to buy one, my only problem being Chrome OS. Don't get me wrong, I love it, it's just not robust enough for me. I want to really make use of the K1 by playing more high end games like ones for Android that are more optimized for it. Touchscreen not being a huge issue here. I'd use a PS3 controller of course. Plus with all the apps already developed for the Droid platform it makes a lot more sense than web based Chrome OS.
So, question time.....
Do you think it would be possible to install KitKat or maybe even Android L Beta on a system like this? I have researched it a little and the Tegra uses ARMv7 architecture. I don't know a whole lot about what that means, but as far as I understand it's 64-bit not 32. Does that mean I would have to use a special KitKat OS on this? Also how in the world would I go about doing this? I have successfully installed Ubuntu (I think 12.04) on an older Samsung Chromebook which dual boots both Ubuntu and Chrome OS; however, I am not sure that the steps involved would be the same. Seeing as how this is a fairly new device, Google is of no help whatsoever....
EXTRA, EXTRA!
Would it be possible to make Android the default OS so it auto boots without going to the OS verification screen?
Thanks for reading! Really hope I can get some answers, looking forward to doing some "real" gaming on the cheap!
Reading so much things about Chromebook that I want now test by myself but which one should i buy...Acer R11, Asus flip, HP 14 ...lenovo ?
I'm loosing my mind... Could you help me to choice referring your experiences
Thanks
Asus Chromebook Flip because it has support for Android apps from Google Play Store.
older refurbs can work well
This might not be the direction you wanrt to go, but I liked the acer c720 (refurb).
Successfully ran crouton (trusty( on it (more like "briskly walked" crouton on it).
The version I had could not be reasonably upgraded from 2 GB of RAM.
I found a page about upgrading acer chromebooks, you can find it by searching for "How to upgrade the Acer C7 Chromebook" (i.r. noob, thus no link)
I then found an older c710-2834 (higher clock on previous-gen celeron), swapped in an SSD and added RAM to the spare slot.
I ended up with an ultraportable with 10 GB DDR3 and a 240 GB hard drive that actually runs crouton (occasionally even sprinting), at a very low cost.
The caveat is that the slightly more power-hungry processor along with upgrades trade off some of the battery life that the c720 had.
Whichever way you go, I hope it works out well for you.
Thanks for your answer... Asus chromebook flip is not available in France.... Only amazon us but no azerty keyboard... So the last one Chromebook out in France is Acer r11 with better CPU and same versatility.... Tablet mode, PC mode and one another.... It cost 299€
I don't know if chrome os will be fine for me but I'm searching for something different....I also saw that chrome os could be installed also under a raspberry pi 3.... So may be I could try this os under this device before buying one real Chromebook....
The new way to run android apps in native is interesting

If you have an old laptop sitting around, load CloudReady Chromebook clone software on it. I have a Dell 3010 Chromebox and I have CloudReady loaded on an old Dell 1545 laptop. CloudReady is nearly identical to a Chromebook. At least you can get the feel of a Chromebook before buying one.
CloudReady by Neverware. Free for individual use.

The HP Chromebook 11A is a good choice. It has got a great design and a powerful mediatek processor.
Yeah even I was reading about this Chromebook today. Great choice for budget users tbh. If you're still looking for a good chromebook, I'd also suggest the Lenovo Duet Chromebook. Both have fab mediatek chipsets and are under Rs. 26K. The Acer Spin 311 is good too.
Hey what’s up guys, I wanted to share my review of the Chuwi Vi10 Plus, a very inexpensive tablet running Remix OS 2.0. This tablet costs $130 (currently on sale) and uses the Surface 3’s screen, so that’s definitely a plus! It runs Remix OS quite well and is a very good low cost entry point to trying Remix OS, it’s a great option for someone who wants Remix OS on their tablet permanently. There is also a keyboard cover that is custom made for this tablet and is sold separately, but it costs $25, so it’s not too expensive. Let me know what you think of this tablet!
My full text review can be found here:

Chuwi Vi10 Plus Specifications:
10.8" 1920x1280 IPS Display (same as the Microsoft Surface 3)
Intel Cherry Trail X5-Z8300 Quad Core
2GB RAM, 32GB ROM
Remix OS 2.0 (5.1 Lollipop)
2MP/2MP Camera
8400mAh Battery
The chuwi Vi10 Plus with Remix OS can be upgraded to dualboot with Android and Windows. I have installed them and it works quite well.

Which did you find more stable? I am getting frequent freezes with Remix.
I'm still getting random freezing and random rebooting even after the "GFX Fix" on the Chuwi forums. It's also worth mentioning that the attached keyboard constantly wakes the device and drains the battery.
Edit: Do NOT buy this device until it is verified that these major issues are fixed. This is unacceptable!

Fix to this problem is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=69877148&postcount=19
Leave system partition writable in TWRP, so fix could be properly applied. Hope it helps someone...
Hi All!
Installed remix OS the other day on my Lenovo Yoga 300 as it is pretty much incapable of running Windows 10!
It's much smoother now however my touchscreen doesn't work which is a pain. I have done some research and see that drivers in android are not made and managed in the same way as through Windows. Instead they are integrated into the code. Is there anyway I could get my touchscreen working?
Kind Regards,
Darren
