So i just got my mate 10 and i want help in understanding things, plz?
- notification center and icons are very big and close, is there a way to decrease their sizes ? (with or without root), i come from AOSP and things look so huge on this phone.
- is it possible to unlink the ringtone and notification volume ?
- is it possible to wake the phone with "ok google" ? (with or without root)
- is it possible to get google lens in google photos ? (i guess that requires to change the device ID in the boot file?)
- will adding a launcher like nova cause troubles with widgets and other EMUI functions?
- is it possible to adjust the swiping and tapping on the fingerprint sensor to customize what they do?
- is there a faster way to install update on the phone? maybe through pc or another source because huawei server are very slow and takes a lot of time.
- Also just discovered, that the phone supports either 2 simcards or 1 sim and a microSD right ?
Root questions:
I m used to rooting and flashing twrp and so on, but i want to ask before messing with my huawei:
- is it easy to brick the phone?
- So if i rooted the phone. will i still receive updates? and if yes, would that just remove the root or brick my phone?
- I read so many users re-brand their phones because chinese roms or so have more options? what are these options? and does it worth it? can the language be changed to English if on chinese rebranding?
- The rooting will void warranty, but is it possible to unroot, and have it back fresh, if an issue was discovered later?
- if you have your phone rooted, what apps are using that requires root?
- if i want to rebrand my phone one day, is my only source funkyhuawei ? or it can be done through twrp, flashing, like any other rom on any regular phone ?
so far those thank you very much for taking time to read and respond

Hi
I have the Samsung Galaxy S I9100 and a few problems. Please proceed and read carefully.
Summery of my problems:
(1) The famous clipboard bug: when copy text for about 16 times, the phone restarts. Samsung won't update the SII so the problem will not be recovered.
(2) Home button doesn't work: I read somewhere that this can be recoverd trough deleting a special map with root acess. Is that true?
(3) Front cam don't work correct: this is a software problem because when the battery is unloaded (phone go off) and charged for about 20% the front cam works again. Is this a bug?
All the problems don't solve, even after: clean cache per app, clean cache in recovery mode (via the reboot recovery app because home button doesn't work), multiple full factory reset. I have these problems for about 4 months now, and I'm getting CRAZY!
Now comes the part with flasing, for example CM. My 5 questions:
- The one-click installer is compatible with my phone (thank God!). Is it safe without a working home button? Are there other things I need to take care off?
- Will flashing CyanogenMod solve the above 3 problems?
- My phone is rooted, will this cause problems during installation?
- I want the stable version. I there a danger that functions like the alarm won't work? I read somewhere that CM is not reponsible for eventually a loose of job because the alarm won't work...
- Will my network provider keep on working after flashing? Can I keep on talking and using 3G?
3 more questions about CM vs other mods:
- I have now official 4.1.2> if I don't like CM , is there also a one-click backup and reload installer available?
- Will flashing to a new official stock android version solve the above three problems?
- What other things I could try to solve the problems, before trying to flash?
I hope someone can provide me with answers and can help me to get a better phone!
(Please explain in child language because first I'm Dutch and my English is not THAT good and second I am a noob in flashing, roms, CM.......rooting succeed because of another one-click installer. I love them!)
Hello guys,
I buoght the z18 mini ( nx611j ) 6 months ago and it camed with some vendors firmware (geekbuying maybe) , witch meant that I could not receive OTA updates;
-- like a month or two ago I flashed ( using TWRP) V2.29 official firmware ( nothing weird during the process - maybe a bit , the fact that i had to delete some files - the pattern security had gone mad and didn't alowed me to unlock the phone ), I installed GAPPS via TWRP
-- after that all mixed felings :
PROS - better imput screen response
- I could check for updates in Settings / System update
- almost instant unlock via fingerprint
- even faster unlock via face recognition
- probably more improvements which I don't recall and
CONS - PUBG start crashing , BIG TIME ....like more than once per match.... MOORE... to be more accurate I had to start it
over after every crash
- other apps start crashing aswell but still not that often , not in a worring manner
- maybe more Displaying Popup Ads
I flashed MAGISK , update it and rooted the phone and checked if I pass Safetynet - one didn't
and V2.33 firmware came out, Google it for infos , flash it via twrp , flash gapps, belive I lost root and twrp in the process, no problem ..... but hell broke loose
- even more apps crashing , including Chrome
- unable to set fingerprint, pattern or facelock - I have no lockscreen option activated
- still not able to receive whatsapp messages , I couldn't receive with neither vendors firmware nor v2.29 , only received
messages when unlocking screen (phone), I tried everything in the past and hoped an update will solve it
Now I have 4.4.78 kernel version from 3 Jan 2019 ( belived my problems were past and dust, but nooo sir)
should I flash a custom rom ?
so if somewone have some tips would be much appreciated
Now, I use nubia rom (Chinese) v 2.36 with flash with twrp. work fine.
pls, bear in mind that all default of permission of android 8.x so serious therefore all app will not gain all permission as developer want. You have to give gain permission by manual. again. Try to do.
As your problem, it seem to be good clear all cache, davik and data
Wipe all to settlement it.
There is a trick durng flash rom you need to do a lot. Try to search article and following.

Hi guys,
I've got a 7.1 with the latest Android (10). The device is under full control by my company. This means that It says that it is under control everywhere (text on lockscreen, statusbar etc), that certain things are blocked (entering developer mode, installing apk's outside of Play Store etc) and that I have a personal and work profile on the phone. If I delete the last one, the phone automatically resets (!). For me this is a reason to get rid of it asap.
First things first: the IT guys said this is okay (there are people that only have a personal phone and are allowed to use this too within the company), but they just won't help me with it So here I am for your help!
Do you guys know how I can disable/remove the corporate stuff? I tried a normal reset, but the company stuff is allready there on first boot and forces you to load and install it all before you can properly enter the Android environment. I tried installing the december firmware here on the site by ADB sideload, but it aborts because it's an older version (downgrade).
Do you have any idea how to get rid of it all? Where is the company stuff incorporated/embedded? Is that in firmware or on a deeper level? And is it possible without unlocking bootloader?
Thank you in advance!
You can have some one pay to unlock the boot loader and flash a rom ( you have to pay to unlock the boot loader ) I would link it but some one told a mod on me so you will have to search for i t

thanks for the reply. are you sure then that al the corporate stuff is in the rom and not in some deeper level (like on boot level or a special partition of some sort)?
cheers!

Hi,
As somme others users, I'd like to have the record option on a call, event when micro is off. I was previously on Asus and their app did perfectly the job. Having to change, I see that on my redmi phone 10, miui global 12.0.4, android 11, it's not the case. Looking here and there, I found the app True Phone Dialer & Contacts & Call Recorder.
It's a good replacement of the native pak, but, it as the option to record the line only with a magisk module.
And here come the problems. For Magisk to install and, I presume use a module, Magisk requires root.
I succed having root, despite no TWRP yet.
But, in root mode, the dialer apk don't want to receive or make a call. I de-root : function ok... I re-root, not ok.
I hesitate posting on their thread cause I also remark that the capture screen function, Vol down+power, do not function any more. Maybe there are other bugs, but not found yet. The method of using three fingers to capture-screen function ! (scrolling up to down). The combi Vol down+Power function no more, with or without root.
The only thing I did before was using XiaomiADBFastbootTools to remove some bloatware.
Does anybody else have such comportments on their phone with the root ? And how to fix ?
Thanks
