700000.Ssub wakelock on most custom roms - Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Questions & Answers

Hi, i tried to clean install roms(miui9,viperos,rr,nuclear and now aex) but all the rom gives wakelock of 700000.ssub under kernel wakelock(as per betterbatterystatus, wakelock detector) . it kept my phone awake all the time, not allowing it to deep sleep. Normally it drain 10% battery from 12am to 8am when i was asleep.

It's not ROM but one of your apps causing it, i tried pretty much every popular ROM for MIDO and never had this issue on any of them.
And since you posted screenshot from AEX, here is mine: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74586864&postcount=6367
So yeah stop blaming custom ROM's - it's the ****ty apps you are using causing wakelocks.

This wakelock is related to mtp host or you can say otg .
Quick workaround is to reboot Ur device after using mtp or otg service .
Refer these below post that would help you :

Thanks for the link. But those are for 600000.ssub instead of 7000000.ssub. I tried all and it didnt work.

Doesn't matter till the wakelocks has ".ssusb "
Its sad to hear that nothing is working for u

Try wiping the full phone and flash the stock ROM again, then try to change to a custom ROM.

Help with Gallery

Hi, this is my first thread so go easy on me.
I flashed CM13 on my device sometimes after 2 weeks after it came out. Besides the bugs that was already there in Unofficial CM13 I faced an extra problem.
My Gallery fails to load Images/Video thumbnails and just shows up as empty black spaces. And after some time Gallery stops responding, and I have to force close it. Here is the list of stuff I tried to remedy this:
1) Clearing Media Storage data and doing a re scan using media.Re.Scan.
2) Wiping Cache/Dalvik Cache
I don't have this problem on Stock, only on CM13 based ROM's. And I'm sure I clean installed CM13 properly.
And I got this from the logcat:
Code:
08-24 19:28:51.517 23297 23375 E MetadataRetrieverClient: failed to extract an album art
08-24 19:28:51.518 6399 6422 E MediaMetadataRetrieverJNI: getEmbeddedPicture: Call to getEmbeddedPicture failed.
Any help would be appreciated.
Same here but the bug is fixed in latest build
Yet few ROMs still have that

Disable in built file

Maybe something (file) in the storage is causing this problem.

Resurrection Remix - Nougat

AEX - Oreo
Credits to the work of this ROM completely goes to @Woivod , I, in no way, take any credit or responsibility to any of His works...
I think Woivod took a break from RR and started working on AEX for now.

I don't remember much as I used it only for half hour or so. Due to random reboot and crashes. Which I still don't know why happened. Anyway his aex build is smooth just like his RR builds, I didn't checked all the customisation but it was lil less than RR.. Performance wise I will say both are quite same.. But as I didn't used much so can't say more. ? Sorry.

I installed October 8th Beacon build (RR-N-v5.8.5-20171008-land-Unofficial_mod_kernel_beacon) by Woivod.
But the kernel still remained as the lineageos kernel. As the rom was not pre-rooted, I installed SuperSu.
Now can someone tell me the steps to flash Beacon kernel on this rom? Is there any special steps to be taken such as flashing the stock boot.img from the RR-N-v5.8.5-20171008-land-Unofficial_mod_kernel_beacon.zip file prior to flashing the kernel zip file?

Do a clean flash again (turn off Your mobile and press both volume buttons and the power button to enter TWRP)... If it doesn't work try re-downloading the ROM... Even then if it doesn't work try flashing Stock MIUI and then clean flash the ROM...
How is your battery on Woivod's build? I am currently on RR-N-v5.8.5-20171008 and I have a problem with battery drain. On build RR-N-v5.8.5-20171006 was the same. The problem is that my phone doesn't go to Deep Sleep state. It is always awake, even with screen off.
The wakelock that cause such a behaviour is a Kernel Wakelock called msm_otg. I have checked that with BetterBatteryStats.
I have tried 3 different kernels: a default one v.3.18.72, customs Beacon 3.0 stable and Beacon 3.5 beta. Behaviour is always the same.
I have a screensaver and pocket detection disabled. The only way to start entering Deep Sleep state is to reboot the phone after it is charged. But it is a pain in the ...... always to remember it, have time for it and always keep an eye if phone gets Deep Sleep or not.

Same issue here... Initially in both 6th and 8th build it was fine but deep doze didn't work later... May be You can try the doze app in Play Store... But battery drain in 8th with Beacon is unbearable...
I clean flashed October 8th build (with the new kernel 3.18.72) today. I feel that phone is a lot smoother now. LiveDisplay and miui camera is working fine (I will not go back to MIUI anymore ).
Previously, I had dirty flashed his Oct 8th build over Oct 5th build.
Once again thanks to Woivod for his awesome work on Redmi 3s.
Regarding the battery issue and not falling into Deep Sleep state described in post #12... I have a feeling, that installing Kernel Auditor from Google Play fixed the problem. I need some more testing to be sure, but anyone having similar issues please give it a try as well.

I felt 6th Build to be the Best... Does clean flashing 8th build with Lineage Kernel feel smooth??
Im currently on Wadjm81's 16th Build... Its a lot laggy...
After the overnight charging to 100% I find that Kernel Auditor is not a solution. Still no Deep Sleep state.
I've flashed PERXEPTED-N-v3.3_20170925 kernel today. Will see what happens tomorrow morning.
@bharathulaganathan
I feel both 6th and 8th to be very smooth, don't see any difference. I even did dirt flash 8th over to 6th build and have no issues... apart from this Deep Sleep But it is not related I believe.

Issue related Pixel Experience Rom

Dear Devs, after the new OTA update of Pixel Experience Rom i am facing a severe heating problem after a little use.Battery is also draining.I m using Redmi note 4 mido.Snapdragon ver.

Wrong section and Rom isnt official supported on xda, but you can try a custom kernel which should solve battery drain (if you have the deepsleep issue), else you can try naptime (force doze - against battery drain)... But i dont know how to solve heat issue

I flashed this rom 2 months ago , everything was fine. But yesterday I tried to format my phone . From settings I clicked on format , after a few warning messages my phone booted into twrp . There I clicked on wipe then format option. After completing when I tapped on reboot , it went into a bootloop showing G logo for a long time. Then I again went back to twrp and wiped everything and flashed the same room using otg . My phone booted up. But during setup , it started saying that looking for a software update for about 20 mins. Then I skipped it and my phone opened. But I couldn't sign into my Google account any more , it says can't connect to server though I have good internet speed. YouTube , playstore , drive , photos i.e. google apps not working . In settings i saw play service not working . I tried to sideload it but failed. I flashed room a couple of times , same happened. Please help me out.

I installed pixel experience rom on my resmi note 4.Before this i was using stock miui rom.It used to take 3 hours to charged completely. But in pixel experience rom the phone is charging completely from zero to hundred in 1hour 10 min.Due to this my phone is heating also. And my battery percentage is also fluctuating.By fluctuating i want to say that it shows 62percent but when i lock my phone and unlock it then it shows 64percent.How my battery can get charged without charging it.then next second it becomes 60.please help me.I am facing this problem after installing pixel experience rom. Before this my phone used to work perfectly fine.please give me aolution

Slow performance of the phone

Hello all,
I have a Redmi Note 3, Qualcomm Snapdragon processor based with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB ROM. I bought the phone from mi site(Indian version) online. It was bought in May 2016.
I dont know how to root the phone and I have only updated the OS whenever i got an update from MI.
Eventhough i heard about Lineage OS, i dont know how to apply one on the phone.
I use it to browse, watch youtube and chatting app like whatsapp.
Of late the phone is too slow. When opening Youtube, the app closes after few seconds(I believe it has crashed, I dont know though).
This happens for many apps.
Is it possible to fix this issue? Can you help me or point me to a site with enough details that novice like me can fix it.
Thanks in the meanwhile
Pradeep
I have something similar with my phone, same 2\16gb. A month ago it started to stutter so bad, that I can't even use it normally. I am using AospExtended ROM now, but I tried many other ROMs, nothing helped, also I tried AGNi and franco kernel. Phone freezes very often when i try to open some apps like a telegram or instagram, sometimes when I just unlock it with the graphical key it freezes completely, then reboots. I used to play Fallout Shelter, but now it is completely unplayable with like 1-2 FPS.... Looks like it is some hardware problem, or what

Yup, that's the reason i guess.

Notification delay and background app closing in pie roms.

having the same problem with all pie roms. messenger and whatsapp keeps getting closed in the background, also doesn't give me notifications. I made them "not optimized" in battery optimization but it didn't help.

Then it maybe caused by several issues,
1. Old firmware
2. Malfunctioning core gapps
3. Maybe a hardware related problem
4. Restoration of apps using titanium backup
5. Wrong Wake lock blocker settings which prevent phone form waking up on critical wakelock such as gmscore wake locks, which will definitely results in delayed notifications (tested by myself)
Maybe gms dose for magisk can also be responsible.

Here's my situation:
1. I placed latest global firmware I could get my hands on. I'm not sure was it beta or stable.
2. This is a GApps issue?
3. I'm pretty sure it's not since I came from Havoc 2.0 just 2 weeks ago. Before AEX 6.1 it worked normally.
4. I used Migrate to restore apps.
5. I don't use any wake lock blocker whatsoever

I'm pretty sure it's a ROM problem. Tried running without DA kernel and literally nothing changed, except my battery life which worsened a bit. Hoping for a solution or I'm going back to Havoc OS
