cm9 for huawei s7 -- test version

Hi all, after a great effort and lot of work finally i got cm9 compile from source working in my s7 model 105.
this is a test version it still has many bugs that i'm trying to solve, help is welcome.
I used kernel from jotamj from another forum and i use asturel device files to get it started, asturel files is for the slim so i had to made some changes in the files, thanks to them.
this work on:
my s7 model=105, it may work on 104 and in 106, probably will not work on s7 slim
do not work:
-wifi
-camera
-many other things
how to install:
first do a backup, IMPORTANT , backup first ( in case same thing go wrong)
copy file zip to sdcard
boot on cwm and install zip file
reboot and wait 4 to 5 minutes, if anything goes wrong restore from backup.
version 49 (more stable)
link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/c8wvy519w3l6ie1/s7_cm9-hal-49.zip
changes:
display more stable, fix the bug of some times does not display the aplication corretlry, fixed.
virtual keyboard, some times the key do not worked, now fixed.
wifi (still doesnt work, trying to get it to wotk)
version 33 out dated
link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/wikecppfewo5f1j/cm9-s7_33-hal.zip
This is my first stable version (it doesnt hang or reboots) but still needs lots of work until is 100% stable and all working.
help is welcome,
install on your device, test what work and what does not, google for solutions on the bugs you find, post solution here, i will aplly it to the next version, that way we can have a cm9 working 100% in very little time
in the case you can post, write a message to me.
to do next:
-wifi ( working on it )
-camera
-correct other bugs
test it

Hi,
Nice work. Do you have a git hub source?..
Hi goodoane, i dont have a github account, i have is a local device tree made after asturel device, with many changes in order to compile for my 105.
I found in a russian forum sameone is postinfgversions of pa for 105, i dont speek russian, i love to take a look at there device files to compare to many and see what i'm doing wrong or see what is missing.
Do you have a device tree for the s7 ? we can compare files and see if we can make a more stable version, working alone is hard and progress is slow.
I'm making changes in my files to see if i get wifi working, until now no sucess.
Any help is welcome.

Hey Hephappy!
Why did you leave XDA? We need you!
Your ROMs were first of the kind for our device. Moreover, good developers are leaving development of this device because they have moved on to another device.
Optimus One users want good ROMs too!
Hephappy left xda but still actively working on P500

Feedback - [DEV][ROM][4.4.2] [CM11] KITKAT for LG-P500[WIP][VER-1]
I've been using this KITKAT Rom (from 27. December) for 5 days now and I'm really impressed of it - thx goes to mukulsoni and hephappy.
My feedback here, since I'm not allowed to post on a dev thread:
- Battery backup is acceptable with 2 days for me (Wifi off, Location off, low usage)
- Installed Calendar from PlayStore and calendar syncronization is working
- If you do not want to use Hangeout as you default sms client you can install 8sms from the PlayStore instead (which I did)
- Not Working:
- Wifi Tethering (@mukulsoni please add to not working list)
- voice search does not work for me (maybe someone else knows how to get it working?)
- overall performance (smartassV2, 240-710) is good but not snappy (I'm using a class 10 8GB sdcard).
Conclusion:
@all who are interested in KITKAT on our old P500, give the linked ROM a try - you won't be disappointed.

Did not like the Dec 27 build.
I am running the Omni preview which is more or less cm-11. Favorably impressed.
Offline voice search will not work on our armv6 device. Thanks Google.
Online voice does work. Use voice dictation or swype/dragon to get it into google search. Must tap search, but ...
Actually, something before getting the voice is what armv6 stops. I cannot reproduce how I got there, but I had it actually, init, take my voice and get results!! Once, just once. So ... who knows?

So it seems that online voice search is not working for now.
Why do you prefer the Omni preview? Could you please give some more details?

I took this because this is what is being developed right now, where fixes are going.
On-line voice does work. Go to settings->language&input->voice recognition. Since you are likely running with Google Search around, you will see two (count 'em) google options here. Choose the other one.
If you only see one, you need to install the old VoiceSearch.
Feedback - [DEV][ROM][4.4.2] [CM11] KITKAT for LG-P500[WIP][VER-3]
Changes between Ver1 and Ver3 I encountered
- battery consumption seems to be improved a little bit
- stock SMS/MMS app included now (no need for Hangout or 8sms)
- "national roaming" support seems to be gone now (new MVNO Settins are unclear for me - any hints are welcome)
- camera problems
- autofocus does not work anymore - focus does not go green (worked on Ver1)
- choosing HDR option leeds to FC of camera app (to disable HDR you have to clean App Settings)
Trying to record a video freezed the phone (gave me an FC on Ver1) - had to remove the battery.
Experiences from other users are welcome.
Ver6-New:
I am not able to install this version oder version 5 - status 7 error (some symlinks missing)
New Experimental released Jan 14, 2014
A new experimental build has been released at Jenkins.cm_p500-userdebug-cm-11.0:victory:
can not install Ver6-New - symlinks missing
I am not able to install this version over version 5 - status 7 error (some symlinks missing)
Has anybody a clue? I already downloaded this version twice.
I had no problems installing the old Ver6 before. Unfortunately I've deleted the old Ver6 ;-(.

I am not allowed to post in dev thread, so please be lenient towards me.
Back to my update problem: I already checked md5 hash and in Addition I repartioned and formatted my sdcard, formatted system and tried to flash via recovery (ver from 16th january) - but same error.
Is it possible that system of this rom is almost full and that some memory blocks of my system storage is dead? It is just an assumption or guess, but if too few memory could cause such an upgrade failure, which apps are secure to remove?
Once again, thx for any hints.

Ok, now try flashing any older cm 10.1 or 10.2 over the new recovery (jan16) and let me know the status. You can write on my thread after completing your 10th post.

I already installed version 5 which didn't cause any problems. But I will try an older cm version in addition. I'll post the result afterwards.
@mukulsoni: I installed 10.1.6 (hephappy) without any problems.
Could you please provide the old Version6 rom again. I want to install this version until there is a (I find) a solution for my specific problem.
Thanks in advance.

Thank you for the link. I flashed that version 6 over version 5 sucessfully. As you said, it is really strange that i can not install the 6-new version. But for now I am happy with it. If you are able to find any possible explaination I am still curious to know of course.

[x86][GApps] FrankenGApps 20140826 4.4.x *UPDATED! Stable! Universal!*

DO NOT FLASH THIS ON A TOUCHWIZ ROM. AOSP BASED ONLY
This is a custom GApps package I created to work with x86 devices (namely, our tab) as the normal GApps packages available are arm-only. (and no, to those who would ask, it's not as simple as downloading PA-GApps and swapping the update binary. The actual files therein are NOT x86 compatible, namely, the libs.)
UPDATE 1: With the release of 4.4. for the P5210, I am pleased to announce that this is now a full, complete, stable GApps package
It contains everything found in the PA-GApps stock zip plus:
-Hackers keyboard
-Root browser
-Xperia home
note that Hacker's keyboard and Xperia home are just there in case google keyboard / google home don't work out of the box. I don't anticipate any problems, but just to be sure. After some feedback / testing i'll remove these if people want. Root browser however is here to stay.
UPDATE 2:
As of the 20140823 build, this is now a UNIVERSAL x86 GApps package, meaning it will work on ANY x86 device running 4.4.x with zero tinkering to the zip. I did this by using a slightly modified pa-gapps updater-script coupled with an x86 update-binary.
UPDATE 3:
The 20140826 build is mostly bug fixes. The updater-script in the 20140823 build was broken. This is now fixed. Google + was broken. This is also fixed.
Google keyboard was broken. This too, is now fixed.
Tested this build myself. All is well.
For those who want a ROM to try this with, head over to @moonbutt74 's thread "odds, ends tests". He posted a successful 4.4.4 build from a few days ago on i think the 4th or 5th post (though it is by NO MEANS dd ready. We're working on it)
DOWNLOAD LINK IS BELOW.
If you want to use this for any reason other than personal use, ask me first, unless you just want to include a link on your ROM thread. If you do want to include a link in your ROM thread, link to this thread, not the download link below.
Download link:FrankenGApps-x86-20140826
old builds:
20140823 build:
FrankenGApps-x86-20140823.zip
The updater script in this build is broken. On top of that, if you fix it yourself, google + and google keyboard are borked.
20140814 build:
FrankenGApps-x86-20140814.zip
This build only works with the tab 3 10.1.
Old legacy hackey build:
FrankenGApps-x86-20140813.zip
there is absolutely no reason to flash the 20140813 build over newer builds. The 20140813 build is an unstable / hackey 4.2 gapps port, I'm just posting it for reference purposes. Naturally this build is unsupported. Please download the new build(s) from OP.
if i flash the build of 14th then i stuck on samsung boot logo. firmware was stock rooted deodexed 4.4.2. i have tryed it twice but always stuck on boot logo.

@evilspawnas
 @ghforlife
Why did you flash this on a touchwiz rom?
This zip is meant for aosp based ROMs like cm11. (I tested this package on @moonbutt74's wip cm11 build, works like a charm)
Besides, TW Roms have GApps built in

Oh, sorry, but all the other devices have cm 11, it´s like my normal behaviour to flash gapps... shame on me
Just updated to 20140823.
As of now, this GApps package is universally compatible with all x86 devices running 4.4.x. Zero tinkering to the zip necessary.
Just updated to 20140826. This build fixes updater-script, google keyboard, and google +. Read "update 3" in OP for more info.
Nice
Another stone in building our road to CM11. Thanks.
I know many will used this update.
To be honest, I am forced to used the market, but try to stay away from C I A applications. I am sorry did I say C I A. My apologies it is the Alzheimer, I mean Google.

And also why do you need instructions? Same as all gapps just flash the zip after flashing the rom

I have a tab 3 10.1 WiFi so if anything pops up around these threads I always have a look.
The tablet is still working fine for me without any gapps on it as I've found gapps are extremely heavy on such an old tablet. Instead I opted for a microg installation and it works perfectly (even being able to play games like bullet force or fwd assault) but i mostly use it for reading and cooking and that kind of stuff which it is perfect for.

Owhh, i see. I put this rom on my tab: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-3/development-10/rom-lineageos-14-1-t3587761
It does lag sometimes, but i removed some of the GApps it came with. I mean, the second i removed playstore some other Google apps stopped working so i had to delete them too. It's a bit better, but i dont play games on it, it's still laggy i should've chosen another ROM but i guess this is fine. Which ones are you using? If you want we can talk in discord, or here if you want, which ever way you fele comfortable. I can share the apps i have and etc, since we have the same tablet, finally i found someone in 2020 having the same device as i have! Ha. I'm still here, so if you reply and i wont answer, i will answer later, i have schedule to follow that's why
Ill wait for your response, anywhere, if you want dm me here, chat in this thread or check my discord, send a friend request and tell me here ur name so I'd accept it. You can also find me in the XDA discord server.

Hey, where have you been?

Broken vibration motor

Device:
Redmi Note 3 Pro, Snapdragon, 2GB RAM, 16GB Internal.
Currently on ViperOS Coral with stock kernel. (latest version of magisk is installed)
Hey community (and hopefully devs)!
As the title suggests, (I think) I broke my vibration motor. Basically, I flashed two custom kernels on top of each other. I really don't have any more info about that, like which ROM or kernels I used. I know, there were warnings everywhere, I've seen them.
Anyway, all I'm asking is if there's any flashable zip or maybe edit of the build.prop to fix this issue.
I've tried RR, LineageOS, NOS, ViperOS, CosmicOS, AOSPA, AOSP Nougat and AOSP Oreo with Radon, Agni, ElementalX and Infected for kernels. All of them were at the latest version at that time. The firmwares used were (and still are) miuifirmware_kenzo_7.7.6 and miui_HMNote3ProGlobal_7.7.20_Firmware. Alongside those ROMs and kernels, I've used Kernel Aduitor. Having tried all of those, vibration had not worked fully. Sometimes, rarely, there was a gentle vibration when I pressed a button or letter, that's all. Though that gives me hope it can be fixed.
I really do need that vibration to work, it's how I used my alarms to wake up. Just sound doesn't cut it. School year's about to start and this being my final year, I want to go all in. But, I can do nothing if I'm asleep.
Please, for the love of me, provide sings useful feedback. I do need to fix it, and service centers aren't an option.
Thank you all.
PS0: I know it'll sound crazy, but if any dev reads this and wants to fix this issue, as I'm not the only one who faces it, please, at least send a message out leave a reply here. Any logs or other feedback, I'll be more than happy to try and provide!
PS1: I have not yet searched on MIUI forums. I do dislike all MIUI themed stuff.
:good::good::good::good:
Flash miui fastboot rom
Flash miui using miflash, it should get everything back to normal.
alright mates. i will try flashing the stock rom. i'll keep you posted for any difference.

I was on Viper 3.0 as well. Flashed ElementalX, then dirty flashed ROM, Flashed agni, dirty flashed ROM again and got this very problem.
Did you manage to fix it?
I did not flashlight the stock MIUI ROM, thus I do not know if that'd be a possible fix for this issue.
(I cannot stand anything premade, that I did not get to mess around. That's the reason why I didn't flash it.)
So I don't know how my vibration came back this morning but I lost it after a few hours.
This happened all of a sudden a few weeks after I lost the vibration under similar circumstances as stated in the OP.
This is quite surprising since it worked without any problems - it wasn't weak or inconsistent for the few hours I had it running today.
Could anyone please explain.
Hey there! I had the same problem. Problem arose when I was on CosmicOS on stock kernel. I don't have any service centres nearby so on the suggestion of my friend, I switched to NOS and the vibration motor started working after 2 days. Wierd, and I don't know whether CosmicOS was the problem but NOS has fixed it.

Question OxygenOS 12.1 AlwaysOnDisplay&HorizonLight APK broken

Good day! Can someone please share original AlwaysOnDisplay (AOD.apk) &HorizonLight APK from OxygenOS 12.1 Android 12 DN2103_11_C_01 for OP Nord 2?
Unfortunately, i installed custom APK's from apkmirror and broke my AOD&HorizonLight, as a result notification icons on AOD does not show at all, i cant choose canvas and horizonlight is not working too.
I dont want to make full backup, hard reset and re-flash my nord 2, that's too much time consuming and risky.
I would really appreciate if someone can help to fix AOD and Horizonlight issue without loosing my data and settings.
Thanks!
I've got the same Problem...should've never installed those.
Try this , is from my phone . Aod version 2.1.29 ( A12 - C.11)
i got it working by now but thank you very much for answering!
