[APP][PORTING REQUEST] Polarflow for any AW smartwatch! - Wear OS Software and Hacking General

Hi guys I have received my new Ticwatch S and it's really awesome but the sports tracking app is not.
I managed to install Polarflow app from my old Polar M600 and it works really well (sensor, GPS and also syncronization with phone) I think this is the best sports tracking app for AW but layout is totally wrong cause M600 has a square screen and Ticwatch a round one (see attached photo).
Is it possible to modify the app layout to fit the round screen?
I've found this but I have no experience with development and coding: https://developer.android.com/training/wearables/ui/layouts.html
Thanks anyone will try to do it!

Does Polar Flow on your watch (Ticwatch S) count the number of steps? shows on the watchfase?

I have been digging in to this as I have both a M600 and a Huwaei Watch 2 and would love to use the Watch 2 due to its round screen, now although the app installs and appears to "sync" with Polar Flow on the wwatch 2 it does not appear to be working correctly, if you look in the Polar Flow app on your mobile it will not look right as it has a randomly generated device ID and fields are missing, the data will also not appear in the "my day" section of the app on the watch. I believe that Polar are locking their app down so that it will only use the Device ID that has been allocated by Polar, this is the same as you will see with other Polar devices i.e. Polar Balance, they each have their own unique 8 character ID which on the M600 can be found on the top right handside of the back of the device. I am trying to dig in to where it is getting this ID from internally as it is not the devices serial number that is also on the back of the device as well and the device ID cannot be found anywhere in the "about" screen of the device so I suspect it is a unique property stored somewhere in flash.
If I can determine how to get this device ID and it can be rewritten then I want to try and clone my genuine M600 ID on to the Huwaei and see if that resolves the sync issues, if it does and things start working fine then I will look at the app itself as I have already decompiled its code and think we just need to play with the layout XML to adjust so that it centres the window on screen on a circular watch. An idea I have had is that if the device ID idea sorts the sync issues out and things start to work, it may be possible to use the device ID of any Polar Flow compatible devices, i.e. the cheapest device! if you forge that ID in to your watch then install flow I am hoping it syncs and works, not perfect but at least you can pick your favourite Android wear watch and a cheap polar device or if your moving from another polar device you simply take its ID and stop using the old device.
I am currently trying to root the device but for some reason althoguh I got a TWRP backup of the device once my fastboot won't recognise the M600 anymore so I can't do much digging as I wanted to try and root it so I could carry on looking for this device ID in its properties.
Edit: Scratch that I have found the device ID, it is the last 8 digits of the Android serial number found in the about screen not sure how I missed that! So now I am going to see if you can change the serial number of an Huwaei Watch 2 to the same as my M600 and see if that resolves.

Wow James this sounds cool! Do you have any news about that? For me the step counter is not very important so also without that function is ok for me, I use only sports tracking that is really good and syncronize with polar flow. Let me know if you can modify the layout, that would be Perfect!

Hi guys,
Any progress on this?
I also just installed the Polar Flow apk on my Misfit Vapor and it is working for tracking the workout sessions, but the screen format is annoying.
Any idea on how to change the layout format to have it compatible with round watches?

Well I managed to create an Xposed app that reconfigured my Huwaei watch to all of the M600 values from my genuine M600, for example serial number, hardware ID even the Android version number etc... when you looked in the watches about screen it looked like my M600 did and when I paired it up with Polar Flow it also showed everything like my genuine M600 such as device ID etc... but still no joy getting it to sync step data either in the phone app or the watches app. I have not had much time to work on it recently but I am wondering if this is a hardware issue, when you look at the API there is an ability to list and select the accelerometer device it is using so I was going to try and find this in my reverse engineered APK and then was hoping it was trying to find something in the MTK based device that was incorrect, in that case I was going to swap out the Polar method/class with my own version by hooking it on the fly in my Xposed app and adjusting it to the Huwaei accelerometer and hopefully that would fix it.
On the other hand, I did notice that even by just installing the Polar flow APK on my watch that if you did a workout for example it still synced, so as fooling the app with the M600 settings did not help sync, it gives me a little hope that you would not need a genuine M600/Polar device ID to be able to use the app so that is good at least.

For me steps counter is not that important, I only need the polar app with the right layout to fit a circle display so I can use it for my trainings, I think it's the best app for monitoring sports and is very full of options but with this wrong layout I can't stop the run easily and numbers are cutted.

Yes but without the accelerometer information you will notice that the majority of metrics are missing in the Polar App, you won't give information such as your calorie fat burn % for example, the "recovery" state from your workout won't work either which to me is a major reason to workout using Polar instead of other tools such as Endomondo as knowing if you are training within the right zones recovery wise is very important i.e. you are not going to do a HIIT workout when you are at the top of the extremely strained section! Most of these features appear to be disabled without a full sync, we need the "my day" function working properly so that all of the data is available to flow otherwise the Polar app is a bit worthless in a way and so is the web site.
I wanted to get the app working before I started using Xposed to start overriding layout parameters, it is also better to do this in the Xposed app as hopefully if Polar update the app my modifications will carry on working.

any news?

[App] Marathon - GPS measure / tracking software

Latest version: 1.3.1.5.
Changelog
Information
Marathon is a Windows Mobile application which keeps track of your movement with the help of a GPS-receiver. It’s the perfect companion for sporting activates such as running and bicycling. You can configure Marathon to announce various statistics in the headset or speaker while you’re recording. This gives you the advantage of always knowing your performance and is a great morale boost to reach your goals. You can compete with yourself by setting the goal time comparison settings to one of your previous results. This will allow the announcements to tell you exactly how many seconds ahead or behind you are. You may also use the generic time goal in case you haven’t recorded anything to compete against. The application records and displays data such as time, distance, speed and your altitude change. You can also choose to display your speed and altitude as bar or line charts, as well as showing a map of your recording. As a complement to the application, Marathon is compatible with a free online service, which allows you to see more detailed information about your performance. You can view your result on a map as well as see various rankings against other users of the service.

Hello!
would this run on my diamond (640 x 480)?
+1 for google earth - support!
A few questions:
1. Will this work on a VGA, e.g., a Fuze?
2. Does it track in miles or just kms?
3. Will it work for cycling, e.g., mph, not just mins/mile?
I currently use GPSCycleComputer because it works for both running and cycling, but this app has some nice new features.
seriously guys, are you even reading the first post?
I’ve tested it on my HTC Touch Pro

I'll let the author respond to changes to mph instead of km.

I haven’t tried it on a bike, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work since it works with walking, running and cars. You can also select different methods, such as “Run”, “Bike” and “Ski” when you save your result to keep track of your travel method.
I've implemented the following units, you can change between them using "Menu->Settings->Unit":
km/h
m/s
mph
min/km
I'll add more if someone find it usefull. Would min / mile be of any use?
I would love you to add minutes per mile as that is the standard measure for running speed, so it would be useful for running.
Thanks.
Very well done!
Hi Ooije,
I did a first test of your app and I'm very impressed about it's features and how well it works for the very first beta! On my Touch Pro, it did find my current position very fast and the distance measured is exactly what www.gpsies.com tells me about it. Uploading to your homepage also worked well and is such easy to do. Congratulations and thank you very much!
Of course although it is already very functional, there are some feature requests:
- I did not dare to switch off the device at my first test, because I did not want the GPS receiver being stopped and used S2U2 as screen lock. Having an option to switch off the display and locking the device (as in GPSCycleComputer) would be a great thing.
- Having an option for specifying the GPS settings would be fine. On the Touch Pro it connects to the intermediate driver directly and works well, but actually I'd like to have it connected to GPSGate on another Port.
- For the running pace (min/km), it shows seconds as percent of minutes. Having it as mm:ss (that is 7:54 instead of 7,9) would be appreciated. BTW:

Here in Europe it is min/km, which is already implemented... ;-)
- I didn't try that audio feature yet (BTW: Do you use earphones?), but I'm thinking that it could also be useful if you're on an unknown route to have some very basic navigation features. That is, importing a route (on www.gpsies.com there are a lot of it) and at least being told if you're leaving that route. For more information you can have a look on your display then, which might show the planned vs. the actual route.
- I'm interested in having a plot "pace over time". I'm not quite sure whether GPS data are such accurate (especially these qualcomm receivers), but maybe there can be done some filtering in order to have good results.
- and of course exporting the track as GPX, KML or whatever (hey, there is GPSBabel to translate it ;-) ) would be great
Last but not least, there is a small flaw having +infity as speed after loading or saving a track - maybe it's currently there for debugging purposes (see screenshot attached)
Cheers
Matzix

You should be able to switch of the device since it keeps the GPS receiver and sound devices running (unless you mixed with the power options). But I guess that could be useful in combination with the ability to read from a NMEA-data directly from a COM port. Unfortunately this is not my highest priority right now, but I might look into it.
Showing pace as m:ss instead of a decimal number might be handy. If that’s what people expect when using the min/km unit I’ll definitely change. What would the expected audio announcement be for such a metric? “three point forty five” could mean either 3.45 (as a decimal number) or 3 minutes and 45 seconds.
The audio feature works with both speaker and headset, but if you’re listening to music at the same time you probably don’t want 100% volume in your music player.
Import/Export seems to be a requested feature, so I’ll look in to a few formats and see which fits best. Announcing when you’re too far away from the expected route is a great idea. I’ll put that on my TODO-list.
There are bar charts (5, 10, 15 or 25 bars) as well as a linear diagram built-in to plot the speed. Just select “Menu->View->Speed” and “Menu->Settings->Diagram Type->…” to view them. The diagram is not inverted when min/km is the selected unit, but that shouldn’t take so long to implement.
Since your speed is 0 m/s it will take you infinitive time to move 1 km, so it’s kind of correct . But I guess I’ll replace it with a ∞ (infinitive symbol) to make it look better and less confusing.
Thank you for all your feedback; it’ll definitely help me improve the application. A translation would be nice, but I think it’s best to wait until I have a more stable set of localized strings in the application. It’s hard to keep the English / Swedish translations in sync even when im translating between them myself. So I’ll keep in touch.
Looks great and though i do now own a pocket pc anymore it would be
awesome if you could contact me. I am the head of the urban sports

Maybe we can work out a system that allows your users to upload their
activity right to endorphin !?

Not working at all
Hello, this is my feedback:
though the program starts ok (I can see the main interface Window) the GPS is always in "starting..." but never starts...
I tried to start first Tomtom navigator, gps starts, close tomtom and start Marathon but... no way.... "starting gps..."
I see no options to configure it...
My phone is a Windows Mobile 6.0, QVGA resolution, HTC clone (amsam M810)
Thanks.
Test with a Touch HD
First start I got no GPS conection. After softreset, I got the GPS lock after a couple of secods. Then I started for a test run which was fine on the fiorst Minutes with havin a short voice anouncement every Minute. after 5 Minutes the system stopped talking to me and after 25 Minutes the SW stopped completly. So I will wait for the next version to give it a next test. so far the SW is already on a good way, but also not very reliable.
I released a minor update today. Here are the news in beta 1.0.0.2:
Fixed a bug with the start button when the GPS-device was started before the application.
Added support for minutes / mile.
A few other small fixes.
I've also updated the website with Google maps integration, some rankings based on distance and the ability to filter by transport method.

The latest release fixes a bug when the GPS was started before the application starts, but I don't think this is the issue in your case. Is your GPS set to be managed by WinMo automatically (Settings->System->External GPS->Access->Manage gps automatically )?. Marathon uses Microsoft GPS intermediate driver, so the OS has to manage the GPS.
I've bought a Bluetooth GPS to play around with, so hopefully it will help me increase the compability with different kind of hardware. By the way, how is your GPS set up in TomTom?
Thanks for the feedback (both of you). It's very valuable since it's kinda hard to fix problems without knowing of there existence .
Cool, just downloading it now.
Any chance you can integrate ApptoDate so that updates are added automatically? Thanks

Hello,
I just downloaded and installed.
Also tested outdoors and jogging
I started Marathon but no way. (waited 10 mins, enough right?) GPS status was always "starting..."
Then I started GPS device from 2 other apps. It did.
Both apps worked and located me in the World.... then closed and opened Marathon
Does not work.
Answering your questions:
yes, GPS is managed by the OS. Option is checked in Settings->System->External GPS->Access
GPS config is: COM1 Baud 9600
ps: what is missed in your software (I think) is the GPS config.
Other software have it.
Thanks a lot.

I assume you haven't changed the settings in "Menu->Settings->Power Management" (at least the first two checkboxes should be checked) and installed the application on your device and not on a memory card? I would really appreciate if you could change the logging level to verbose ( Menu->Settings->Diagnostic Logging), record for a minute or two and then send me the log file in /Program Files/Marathon/Logs so I could investigate further.

Thanks for the screenshots. The wrong skin is loaded since your bottom bar is 10 pixels higher than the one built into WM. I'll improve the skin loading algorithm a bit so the correct skin will be loaded. Where can I get hold of the bottom bar you're using so I can make sure it works correctly before releasing an update?

The "Starting GPS Device..." should take less than a second, it says "No Signal" when there is no GPS fix. So the problem is that the GPS device isn't detected at all. Do you usually have to configure applications before using your device or do other software detect your GPS automatically? Currently Marathon uses the GPS intermediate driver which is supposed to increase the abstraction level so I don't have to parse the NMEA strings from the COM-port, but I guess I have to take a look at other alternatives.
Thanks for all the info!

[Shopsavvy alternative] Mobiletag

Hi,
Has anyone tried this before? I works very well on my touch HD. The integrates a price comparator does quite a good job. It even allows you to search locally using gps. However, recognition is not perfect. For example when I scan the barcode of 'Canon BCI-3eBK inkjet cartridge', it finds 'Canon PGI5BK inkjet cartridge'. Furthermore it shows me a picture of a shoe instead of the product figure.
The software is also able to recognize different kinds of tags which it does a perfect job.

This is definitely the best barcode scanner I ever used and I would absolutely recommend it.
Link mobiletag.
Tested it on HTC touch HD, wm 6.1 original rom NL
Dont work in LEO
Camara failed!
A workaround for the camera has been reported. There are some people who got it to work after activating the camera separately. That is, first start Mobiletag, start the camera trough the home screen and switch back to mobiletag.
Hope it helps. For the best recognition you have to scan very near the barcode. So I don't think devices without autofocus will work properly. Furthermore, it only seems to capture on daylight or other circumstances with propriate light condition.
So weird... I had a really hard time finding the correct version of this for my phone, and an even harder time getting it to work!
I tried the Touch Pro 2 version of it first since that is what I have (CDMA Sprint branded), and it seemed to load a QVGA version... so I tried the Diamond 2 version, and it sort of loaded the camera but didn't look anything like the screenshots here and wouldn't recognize the barcodes. Also, it was not in English.
Finally, I selected the Touch HD version, and I got what you see here and it worked... sort of. It would identify the barcode, then freeze. I turned off the option to search by GPS location proximity, and then it seemed to work OK.
Neat app, but like this it only seem useful for comparing against online services like amazon. The GPS nearby store search would have been cool.

Going to the website it only seems to list ancient HTC devices. when you say you selected the diamond 2 version where are you looking? under HTC it lists supported devices as Startrek, s710, s620, Prophet & Meteor.
I would be happy to try out the diamond 2version if I could locate it

Just use the mobile version of the website:

would be sweet but it isn't geared for the US.
Anyone know of a good US version?
Kinda annoying
....having to select HTC Touch Pro2 every single time I open the program(even if I already click on the "Remember This Choice"
Works well.
Overall, cool program to play with.
I'm trying it on my Touch HD. It scans the barcode ok but then I get Server Error when it try to look it up. That is with GPS either enabled or disabled. Ideas ?
These guys seem to have problems with their servers. 3 out of 4 times I got an connection error.
Also while it says it uses shops from your location it still shows me amazon.com and not amazon.de
I just hope Shop Savvy finally releases the Windows Mobile version, it´d be the first windows mobile app that I buy.
Working on my blackstone, but after scanning most of the times gives the message "cannot retrieve data, check your internet parameters".
Possibly their servers problem?

Mobiletag for windows mobile??
I've tested it on my HTC touch HD and it does everything it's supposed to do well but, big big problem: it eats my battery in about two days!!!
I've closed it after every try, I've run Sktools and nothing seems to have being running or remained resident after exiting the program, but the fact is that after removing it everything got back to normal.
Any ideas or suggestions?
Anybody outside US got this searching local websites?
I chose £ for UK in settings but only get US sites.
great app , but...
great app, but too many server error and no local DB support !!!!
scans and decoce better and faster than BarcodeZilla....
( on my OMNIA II )
maybe with litlle hack - add support for local DB - and mobiletag is the best !

I tried evernote long ago but didn't find it much use since there was no winmo app. Any tips or tricks?

Evernote has a WinMo app, but it is pretty bare-bones and has not been supported for a long time.

I'm not sure what you mean by sending notes through bluetooth. Would you elaborate?
Adding more colour schemes is unlikely. The app currently includes two versions of the interface, one for high-resolution displays and one for the low. With more variants of each, it could quickly become unmaintainable. I can't change the background colour programmatically either, because it is baked into the graphics. They are all dithered for 16-bit colour, and dithering is incompatible with transparency.

It's simply you can send the notes you have to another device, say to another phone or pc, using bluetooth.

The thing I wonder about is what to do with the note on the receiving end. Official Evernote clients cannot properly transfer notes outside of synchronization. Exporting to HTML is possible, but would raise the question of what to do with file attachments.
Of course, if you can connect to internet through Bluetooth, then you can simply sync.

Perfect timing: I just started trying out Evernote this week and wasn't really keen on Evernote's own application because it's useless offline. And here comes your app and looks great.
I got one problem, though: It refuses to connect via wifi. No problem at all via 3G, but on WiFi it steadily shows "connecting".
Oh, and being able to create new tags would be a good addition.

Thanks for complimenting the app. I have not used WiFi in a while, but will try to reproduce your problem.
Started a new work item for tag creation: http://peoplesnote.codeplex.com/workitem/1005.
Voting on feature requests gets them implemented sooner.
Since restarting my phone a few times, the app doesn't hang up while trying to connect via WiFi anymore - it just takes way longer than via 3G for some reason, but it's usable.
Edit: Forget about the described problem. I'm sure it was a generally lagging WiFi connectivity that day. It works like a charm in other WiFi networks and now at the same one, too.
I apologize for taking so long to release a new version — just did not have much time to spare. Version 0.38 implements one of the most-requested features, letting you choose "All Notebooks" to browse, search, and sync all your notebooks together.

Great App! Working on my old Axim X51V!
I see on your website that you have Notes popping up with a timed alarm reminder as low priority. Let me put in a vote for higher priority.
I would use it as a timed "sticky note" to myself to do something.
Keep up the good work!
Just released version 0.39, making it possible to delete notes from the main note list screen via a tap-and-hold menu.
http://peoplesnote.codeplex.com/releases/view/84127
Version 0.40 adds an option to compact the database from the profile screen. Compacting a database can make it smaller and faster by removing empty spaces left over by editing, moving, and deleting notes.

It must be just me; since nobody else has mentionned it; but I cannot log in to evernote at all on my HD2. On 3G it immediately comes back with network error (never even tries to open a data connection). On wifi it seems to be trying to do something in the background but after a few minutes to just goes back to the login screen.

This program is making all the right steps in all the right directions, it has great prospects.
There are some features that Evernote has that I hope would arrive in this software in the not-too-distant future. I make more handwritten notes that any other form of note taking, and what I find with 'PeoplesNote' is that the 'Ink Note' feature is just a one page scribble pad without any option to scroll or add a page. It would be fantastic if the Ink Note feature of PeoplesNote could automatically scroll as the old Windows Note does as you approach the bottom of the page. Evernote's Ink Note recognises that you are reaching the bottom of the page and facilitates extra space to scroll into. Additionally, it would be very helpful to have an erase feature with Ink Note.
Please don't take this as criticism, I can see this app being extremely useful for as long as Evernote allow you to develop it.

[APP] Wear IP Cam Viewer

I've just finished my new Wear IP Camera Viewer app - find it here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.barkside.ipcam
With it you can view snapshots of your favourite public cameras, or your personal (security/baby-monitor/bird-cam) cameras, right on your Wear Watch. Other features include the ability to tap on a snapshot, and then pinch/double-tap to zoom. Also refresh a particular camera image from your watch. It works for MJPEG streams and JPEG snapshots only at the moment.
It is early days, so please let me know any issues.
Also, it is free (donations can be made within the app - if you get on well with it that is!)
Also again, if I type "Android wear IP Cam viewer" in Google Play, loads of non Android Wear IP cam apps come up - regular peeps aren't going to easily find my app! Any ideas?

Oh dear that doesn't sound very good. So you can either fill out the various boxes with ip/host, Port, path, etc or you use the manual setting to manually type (or paste) the full url. Are you testing from the phone first to ensure it is correct. Do the demo cameras work?

good apps
barkside, great app!! i set it up to work with my foscam (a very popular webcam) so i'm going to post the details below to help others out and maybe some others can provide some input as well.
Foscam FI9821W V2 Cam on my LG G
The image above is a JPEG snapshot, but one that refreshes whenever I launch the webcam app on my watch.
Step 1 Purchase Foscam and setup on your local WiFi (not going into all the instructions, but basically its little more than giving your camera its on own IP address internally so you can see it on your local network.
Step 2 Launch the local URL, go to the your "settings" tab using IE, Firefox or Chrome and under "network" select the "port" option. Note the HTTP port, the only one you're interested in. Change it to something you like such as 8090 or 8095 or whatever and hit "save".
Step 3 Go to "basic settings", then "user accounts" and go ahead & create a "visitor" level user. You don't need or want your default admin account being the one you plug into the URL you'll ultimately put into your watch.
Step 4 Now that you have your visitor/user account, you just need to set up your virtual server/port forwarding for the IP address of your camera. Depending on the router, these settings are typically under "WAN" or "Virtual Servers" or "Port Forwarding". Its a very common feature that every router will have.
Step 5 After you've located your Virtual Server page, simply add a new "virtual server" and key in your IP cam's *LOCAL* web address. This is the same one you see at the top of your browser window in Step 3 above. Typically something like 192.168.2.210 or something. Add this IP address to the table along with the port you setup in Step 2 (8095 or whatever) and select "TCP" as the type.
Step 6You're almost done. Now you're ready to test the access to your camera on the web outside of your local WiFi. Make sure you have the NAME and PASSWORD handy for the visitor account you created.
You can do this one of 2 ways:
>> If using IP address (I don't recommend) do a 'whatismyip.com' lookup and get your 'outside facing' IP address.
>> If using a dynamic DNS (strongly recommended..i won't go into how to do this, but you should do this anyway when you set up your router) use that.
Here's an example of each type you'd want to type into your browser window VERY CAREFULLY
blah.freedomain.com = your DDNS or IP address
8095 = whatever port you are forwarding
blah = your visitor username
blah2 = your visitor password
Code:
http://blah.freedomain.com:8095/cgi-bin/CGIProxy.fcgi?cmd=snapPicture2&usr=blah&pwd=blah2
or
Code:
http://68.43.55.698:8095/cgi-bin/CGIProxy.fcgi?cmd=snapPicture2&usr=blah&pwd=blah2
Step 7 If you can see your webcam image in your browser window you're done! All you need to do now is to open Wear IP Cam on your phone and paste that in.
Step 8 Hit refresh on your watch and you will be able to see the updated web image on your watch each time!
Caveats
This works for the 19821W V2 and the CGI scripting language is slightly different for different foscam models. You might need to browse the Foscam site to see if the CGI code is. I can help out if needed but its really just getting the syntax down. NOTE the user is 'usr' in the code above. I was pulling my hair out for awhile because the older CGI script used 'user' and I kept misspelling it.
I haven't gotten the MJPEG working at all..in any browser. I get a broken image regardless of whether I'm internal or external. However the correct CGI to use for that (if you have better luck than me) is:
NOTE That the author says the end result is the same for MJPEG and JPEG; just a snapshot so there's no need to explore the MJPG option further unless you just want to play with it.
Example
Code:
http://blah.mydomain.com:8095/cgi-bin/CGIStream.cgi?cmd=GetMJStream&usr=blah&pwd=blah2
Of course you'll have to replace the DOMAIN, PORT, USERNAME and PASSWORD with your credentials.
Let me know if you have any questions!

Great guide! Just to avoid confusion, can I reiterate that it will only ever work for snapshots of mjpeg streams, not the video stream itself. So it ends up being the same as jpeg.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Free mobile app
oh ok. That actually helps. I'll just stick with this version of it then. I wasn't sure if I was missing something by not seeing the MJPEG flavor. If there's no difference I probably won't pursue getting that working.
Thanks!
After playing with this a couple days, I think what would really make it nicer is to have the option to zoom..i guess 'pinch' zoom controls dont work on a watch touchscreen, so maybe a double tap will zoom the image and you can then move it around and another double tap to zoom back out.
that would be helpful as I can't make out the timestamp in my webcam image and i'd like to know its pulling a current snapshot.
Other than that, I think the app is great for what it is does.
Nice job!

This is supported already. Tap on a snapshot once which opens the zoom window. Now pinch zoom and double tap zoom will work (to a point). Long press to exit.

I have everything working fine ON MY TABLET for a Foscam FL8910W PTZ @ 640x480...
How in the world do I get the app to show up on my Moto 360 now?
I have every other app working well, but this one doesn't seem to sync when resyncing all apps
Any help would be appreciated!
There is nothing special with this app. I suppose you've tried the unoriginal restarting your tablet and your watch? Otherwise the only other thing is uninstalling and reinstalling the app?

I would mention that refreshing the image would be nice - maybe a 5/10/15/30/60 second option in setup? That would be SPANK!
Let me know what you think, otherwise, I'll report it working well with Foscam!
Glad that worked for you. Yes auto refresh would be nice. I didn't want to complicate it too much to begin with...
Nice app. Donation submitted. I also would like to vote for an auto-refresh enhancement. I think that would make the app perfect if it had that feature.
thanks

OpenFit: Open source Gear Fit application

Hello XDA, I am updating this post to now reflect that this thread is a development thread versus a general thread.
What is OpenFit?
OpenFit is aimed to be an open source alternative to the Gear Fit Manager (which cannot be run natively on non-samsung devices), with hopes that it will provide most/all of the features provided by the Gear Fit Manager app and possibly even more. That being said, this application is in early development and lacks a lot of features.
What can it do?
Connect to the Gear Fit
Auto Connect
Sync time with the Gear Fit
Toggle 12-Hour/24-Hour clock
Media Controller
Alarm notifications (stock android clock app, cannot dismiss alarm from Gear Fit)
SMS notifications
MMS notifications (does not show mms content)
Weather notifications (currently only english support)
Weather clock style
Phone calls notifications
Reject phone calls (quick reply doesnt work yet)
Find device
Email notifications (does not grab the contents of email, that data is protected)
3rd party apps notifications
Pedometer data
Google Fit Sync
This app was developed using firmware: R350XXU0BOA2
Download from Google Play: Open Fit
How to install:
Download from google play
Run OpenFit application
How to upgrade/downgrade firmware:
Tutorial provided by user: @LilLowEK
Tutorial here
How to debug:
Install and Open CatLog app (Free on google play)
Press Menu key on you phone to bring up the record button
Press record and when prompted for file name, add filter with text 'OpenFit'
Press okay, it will begin to record logs for OpenFit.
Perform the action you are trying to debug (try doing it a few times, this helps me figure out the cause of bug)
When completed, stop the recording by tapping on the CatLog notification.
Email or pm me the logs so I can try fixing the bug

How did I make OpenFit
The first thing i decided to do, was to try to research on how the phone and watch communicated. For this I enabled Bluetooth HCI snoop log in the developer options in the CM rom. This would log all traffic from bluetooth. I factory reset my watch and then connected it with the Gear Fit Manager app. I sent/received a test messages, using custom apps and text messages. I then stopped logging bluetooth traffic, and began inspecting the logs using wireshark. For each new connection after a factory reset of the watch, the Gear Fit Manager checks to see if a Firmware update is available and then sends most of the data to the watch; updated texts, images, predefined text etc. Then shortly after I began seeing the logs for the text messages and custom messages. For text messages, nothing was needed, but for custom messages, the app will send to the watch the image of the app along with some metadata, such that the watch can now receive the custom type message (think facebook messenger). So now that I had a nice data set to work with I tried connecting to the watch using androids BLE connections, but I could not connect successfully with it, and so I tried using the BT RFcomm and that worked (I can try to revisit BLE, now that I have more knowledge). Now that I can connect, I tried sending messages (messages from the BT snoop log), however I didnt have any success with this. I realized on each connection, the watch will require a message as a handshake and to my surprise the message was "ODIN" (Samsung's software to flash firmware). After I sent the "ODIN" message, that watch now acknowledge OpenFit and would accept incoming messages. Shortly after I was able to figure out the protocol for sending messages to the watch specifically, setting time and sending a general message. For each type of message, the packet that is sent is different, which is why it time consuming to figure out how to send a particular message. This is where I currently am in the development, I was only able to get this far by using the BT snoop log in conjunction with a decompiled Gear Fit Manager app which I used as a reference. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask.
Hi!
The idea is good, but with this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-fit/general/diy-gear-fit-samsung-devices-lollipop-t3004234
I've been able to make it work on my Nexus 5 on Lollipop.
Maybe the real need is a open community that work on official gear fit manager and patch it, or develop a script to auto patch the last release of the apk!
I think that a open source project is a good idea. The original gear fit manager has too many problems and limitations (with non Samsung device).

yes ! i think like this .... make a new app for managing and make connection to non samsung devices please .... think this is a good way ....
hope for the release soon
will follow the thread !!!
This is not a development thread yet, so it's good to keep it here to get some attention.
Once you start to develop something, you should post it in the development section, otherwise it'll be overrun by "general" posts and threads.
Good initiative though!
I would use it, especially if alarms could work. I bought it knowing its limitations with non samsung devices, but nothing has happened so I'm not using the thing as much as I could
Thanks, @NeoS I'll only post in Dev if I can get a connection with the gear working.
Get fitness sensors data from GF
It would be great to have data extracted from the device. For example it would be a good idea to import data into Google Fit application or just store it to an Excel file.
So I vote "yes" for this reverse engineering project. :good:

Very good idea, I would like to test your .APK in the future.
I would love to see this happen, getting this to do more and open it up and getting more out of it that samsung never planned would be awesome!!:good:
Sorry guys, I'll try to resume working on this.
Hey guys, thanks for all the positive feedback. sorry I havent worked on the app for a long time, I stopped at when trying to learn how to connect to the device, and then got very busy as I am working on multiple projects and work. I'll try to figure out how to connect to the device via this app. I'll also try to update to the latest firmware to see if anything has changed or become easier. I would be more than willing to accept anyone who would like to help out. :good:
I am also using strava app alot, and google fit, and would love to see if i can get metrics from the device and use it to sync with google fit
Galaxy Tab tester
This is a great idea!
I would love to sync my Gear Fit with my Galaxy Tab 4 using an app that works. Gear Fit pairs with the Tab, but the data won't sync, even though Samsung apparently included the Tab as a compatible device...
I've had limited success with the EndoMondo app, but EndoMondo doesn't seem to pull any data from Gear Fit's native software. I also saw a Youtube video that mentioned the 'Lose It' app worked with Gear Fit, but I did not have any success there either...
Looking forward to seeing where this goes.
Cheers,

I am also using strava app alot, and google fit, and would love to see if i can get metrics from the device and use it to sync with google fit

I'd like to help in anyway I can. I use a Nexus 5 and a Gear Fit. and have access to a Stock Galaxy S3. Unfortunately I don't know Java, but I do know some C++, and QML. Are you only planning on re-implementing the Gear Fit Manager? Or are you thinking about maybe working on more the fitness features side? Or both? PM me if you want to work together on this, I'm generally pretty good at figuring things out. I remember I looked into the Fitness with Gear side more than the Gear Fit Manager Side, rather than the Gear Fit Manager side. It might be interesting to look at libpebble, since Hexxeh basically did what we need to do except for a different device. I think it'd be nice to try to write an app in such a way it's easily portable to other platforms. (I personally really like sailfish...)
Unfortunately I also work, and am generally pretty tired by the end of the day.
Thanks, Core2idiot
thanks @Core2idiot, I left off on actually trying to make a connection with the device. Like you said, Its hard getting started once you've gotten stuck. But i'll try my best to get back on it
Sorry

Sorry I'm new... but just to be sure... is possible use Aerlink: Wear Connect for iOS on Gear Fit with any pc program. Or use Ble Utility for connect it on iPhone? Because when I try the App always disconnects.
@becket As far as my testings, you cannot connect to the Gear Fit, using any of the tools on the market such as BLE testers. I think I am "near" getting the connection paired. When you first connect your device, is shows your a security pin, both on phone and on watch. I am what I think close to figuring out how to do that. I have a bunch of decompiled files Im looking trough so its not fun. But hopefully I can figure it out.
I think I successfully connected(paired) with the device. I was trying to do it with Bluetooth low energy, but turns out, The first time needs to be done with the old Bluetooth protocol! I have yet to still find out how to convince the gear fit that i am gear fit manager so it can begin operating.
