I have Note 5 with 7.0
Installed native Samsung messenger app and Google messenger app that is default that I'm using.
Sometimes I receive messages that doesn't appear in the messaging thread and notification isn't received. I know I receive the messages because I have Cortana installed that is pushing notifications to my laptop. I see these text received notifications on laptop but it's not appearing on mobile.
Any clue?

When I get a message from facebook, it almost always looks the same. usually along the lines of "this is the fir..." but sometimes it is formatted such that it is a long paragraph on the messenger app displaying most of the message but the ending is still cut off with elipses. Is there a fix or workaround for this problem? The last thread I found on the topic was from 6 months ago when there was no messenger support for android wear and it was just the notifications being pushed to the watch. Now that there is notification support is there some way to get the whole message to the watch?
Edit: Discovered that this only happens when there are multiple unread messages in a conversation. very annoying.
Is there a way to split notifications in Android Lollipop. Would like to have a separate notification for every WhatsApp message instead of a grouped notification with all the messages (also with phone calls or SMS). Similar to iOS... Some applications like Calendar do it, but for some reason for GMail (same email address), WhatsApp, missed calls, etc they are only grouped and don't know if can split them into separate notifications. Can I? How?

I recently just updated to Marshmallow and since then my Messenger App (version 1.7.050) is not displaying any setting for Group messaging. I can make a group message by adding people to a group conversation but it sends individual text messages to each person.
I can switch my default app to Textra, Hangouts, or Sony's default messaging and they all allow me to use group messaging correctly. They also all display the option in the settings menu to enable/disable group messaging. (Currently all of my texting apps are "enable" group messaging in hopes it will force Messenger App to work, but it does not).
I have uninstalled, re-installed Messenger multiple times, and have performed multiple restarts of the device itself. (still not luck)
Within the settings of Messenger it does display my number correctly, just no MMS/Group messaging Options
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated

I have the same issue. Also on MM and using T-Mobile. I started using hangouts and that works better for me, but MMS doesn't always send correctly using hangouts. Its been a pain in the butt trying to get SMS/MMS working consistently since the MM upgrade. I also tried Textra, and about 50% of the time my MMS would fail on that also. Sticking with Hangouts for now, but once an update gets released for Messenger I will try it again.
Hello! I m using the latest whatsapp on a Samsung Galaxy S6. I m in a lot of groups in whatsapp and i get a lot of messages. When i turn on the internet connection whatsapp load in background all the group messages and this drains my battery if i m doing something different on the phone instead of whatsapp. In ios whatsapp app group messages only load when the application is opened but the contacts messages are received all the time. Is there a way to block group messages in background but keeping the contacts messages?

Is there any way that I can get 'grouped' notifications on my GTR similar to wear os or tizen?
For example, if there are 5 messages from person A and 5 messages from person B, then the notification should show A(5 messages) and B(5 messages). Once I open the first notification, it should list down the messages from that person.
By default, each message is shown as separate notification which is very annoying (especially for notifications from WhatsApp groups)
