How to rebrand Huawei mate 10 without using funkyhuawei - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently bought a huawei mate 10 china variant (L00) and I want to rebrand it to the international variant without using funkyhuawei. It's too expensive!! Is there another way? How about firmware finder? I already installed play store and all, but I really dislike the "China feels" of this variant. I'm too OC.

I want to rebrand my phone from L09 to L29. FunkyHuawei is really expensive, I'd need 7 credits, so I'd need to pay 50usd, which is 2 days of my work, I'm not that rich.
I'm looking for different solution as well.

Mate 10 ALP-AL00

Hi, was looking at the Mate 10 ALP-AL00 as it appears to be available now by resellers. Can anyone confirm if the bands on this Chinese model are sufficient for Europe? And any other potential issues? Thanks.
I think that is Chinese, I believe the international is L29.

Yes, since AL00 has even more bands supported than ALP-L29 (version that will be sold in Spain, for example).
See bellow Mate 10 ALP-L29 (Huawei Alps) vs. Mate 10 ALP-AL00 (Huawei Alps) Frequency Band Comparison
https://www.frequencycheck.com/comp...-mate-10-dual-sim-td-lte-alp-al00-huawei-alps
The only hiccup you get with buying Mate 10 ALP-AL00 (Huawei Alps / China) is that although it does include English language there will be few parts in EMUI that are not fully translated therefore re-branding will be necessary (see link bellow for the rebranding tool and info) to have it without any chinese language leftovers throughout the system. After re-branding is done your phone will "act" like the ALP-L29 version with all OTA's and everything working

Did you have opportunity to check if dual sim is active or it is only standby?
Can you you be more specific? When you say that parts of the OS will still be in Chinese are you referring to system files that the average user will not be using and doesn't need to care about or part of the user interface that will be interacted with regularly or occasionally.
Why!!!
I bought a ALP-AL00 like it says in the box and in the cellphone itself.... I bought that version because of de 6Gb RAM and 128Gb ROM... BUUUUUUT... The firmware says it is ALP-L29.... I checked de imeis and both are the same that is shwon in tthe box.... Why?????

Unless you are in China, that is actually a good thing... AL00s are models for Chinese market, with different software and no Google apps. The fact that it say inside the phone software that it is L29 model means it has been rebranded to international software, with fully translated apps, Google apps and international OTAs

Honestly, I don't know. I haven't had the chance to test and use it. But as mich as I've read on dozens of threads here and online, yes - it should be a good thing.

i would recommend to rebrand to bla29 aka the international version, but only possible via funkyhuawei so it will cost you 31 US $
Thanks that I Will do now just to choose The right firmware.
I think so it's more than 31$ because my boot loader is locked.
So, I'm seriously torn between which Mate 10 I want, the ALP-AL00 or the ALP-L29. The L29 would cost be about $600, where the AL00 would hit me for about $840.
I feel like I'm not a super power user so I wouldn't notice any kind of a difference between 4gb and 6gb, but at the same time I want the best.
I have a Mate 10 AL00
I rebranded my phone to L29
Will the LTE bands on my phone work like AL00 or L29?
I own an alp-al00 6gb version which is Only availble in china. Installed all the google stuff easily. And if you change the language its all English.

Same here, I bought the AL00 6gb version in china, and use it in USA without a problem. I download all the google stuff. The phone can automatically receive updates without a problem.

Yes if you are in eu you need to rebrand to c432 because the problem it's only for Europe huawei still didn't added eu country's to the list for associate the phone services with huawei ID that's why in the rest of countries in the world they don't have this problem With notifications with cn version of huawei devices
I had a honor v9 and I had the same problems In Spain then I rebranded to c432 and any more problems with notifications before that I need to have opened the apps for recive notifications

Where to get the 6GB/128Gb non-pro Now?

Hi all,
I'm keen to get the Mate 10 (non Pro) 6GB/128GB now - and I see some of you have it! (I have the Mate 9 Pro)
I'm in the UK - where's a good place to buy it? I see Wondamobile and TradingShenzhen and some of you give good reviews.
A few places like Banggood have it but not available for weeks.
Can this version be rebranded? FunkyHuawei seem to do it?
I have purchased from Wonda before with good service. Took a while to arrive though! Thinking of the Mate 10 at moment!
I've been in touch - FH say that the Chinese version of the 6GB/128GB can be rebranded to Asia. They're saying not to rebrand to Europe as this is a single sim ROM and they don't know how the second sim slot will behave.
So where can I buy it? Somewhere preferably that can avoid import customs and tax to the UK?

According to Wonda Mobile website, they have arrangements with shipping courier to pay all VAT and import fees. The price at checkout is FINAL. No need to risk being charged a VAT up to 20%
This explains why they're about £50 more than anyone else.
Giztop now appear to have stock and cheaper than Wonda(£699) or Shenzhen(£649) at £615
https://www.giztop.com/phones/huawei-mate-10.html
But Wonda will rebrand the phone for you and have excellent ratings.

I have ordered it from Wonda and asked them to rebrand it to L29C636. I know it's more but I hear it's very difficult to rebrand so I will let them do it.
I'm quite curious as to how well this particular model would work on AT&T in the US? I'd love to grab it but $900 is very pricey if I cannot take full advantage of its connectivity.
Guy's I would recommend Wonda Mobile, I have bought a total of 22 phones from them in 12 months and never had a single issue

This is getting exciting! I'm still a little confused about versions. Is the L29C636 the Asian version? Is this version devoid of all the Chinese features, but allows two LTE sims? Whereas the "European" version only allows one sim? Are there other differences. Anyways, please keep folks posted on how it works out. Thanks!

Yes - that's the sum of it.
You may find that you can't do OTA if you're outside Asia. I have a Mate 9 Pro - L29C636 and until very recently, I had to install updates via Funky Huawei. Huawei seem a little odd in their approach to updating - your device needs to be authorized to receive it, but if you were in the wrong region for your phone, it wouldn't update without a sim from that region.
Saying all that, my Mate 9 Pro received, for the very first time, an OTA update this week.

Ok. Hopefully the OTA situation changes with Mate 10. One more question. Do voice commands for default apps work in English using Asian version? For example, I have a Chinese version of the Mate 9. The default phone app allows voice commands to answer phone but you had to say "answer" in Chinese. It could not be made so that you could say "answer" in English. Thanks!

My understanding is that Asian version ties up to Singapore, where the default language in English. I've never encountered anything remotely Chinese on my 'Asian' version. I use Google Now, but not used voice commands per se!

Huawei Cloud

Anybody in the UK manage to get Huawei Cloud working? I keep getting "Service unavailable in your region"
I take that as a no? Does nobody in the UK have a Mate 10 or Pro?
I get the same
Me too i get the same response. Plus uptill now I've not received OTA for 119 latest firmware. Tried with Hisuite but got the response that i have the latest even though am on 115.
So even though the phone has been released in the UK, some features don't work

It's probably related to the region. UK version works fine in the UK. For Chinese or other versions outside their region it doesn't work.

Mate 10 Pro BLA-L29 U.S.A usage

Gents and Dames:
Does anyone have experience with the Mate 10 Pro BLA-L29 alp working on U.S.A. Networks? I am on Cricket Wireless and would like to have a version without potential AT&T Bloatware, that also works with the Cricett/AT&T network. Please let me know if anyone has success or insight, thanks.
I purchased the standard Mate 10 ALP-AL00 with L29 Rom installed. It should be fairly similar to the Pro. I'll report my experience when it arrives.

Amazon is partially supporting advertisement that promotes the availability of the L00 series... I believe this is the Chinese variant. What are the safe models to get that are fully English?
HI I am on this version and I am on the Tmobile Network. Everything works except obviously WIFI calling and volte. I have had excellent reception around NYC and NJ so far.
I have the BLA-L29 in Alabama and no issues with Cellular Radio at all. The only thing I am having an issue with so far is Bluetooth disconnects. I am going to reset my bluetooth headset itself first and hopefully that will resolve the issue. Else, I've tested on AT&T get around 70M down (LTE) and around 10M while on a phone call (3G speeds).

Anybody try to reband the BLA-A09 to other version, like chinese version?

I just saw the FunkyHuawei can reband the U.S. version of mate 10 pro to chinese version. Has anyone done that before?

I'm pretty sure that I read that doing that will brick your phone. Our US variant is a weird cousin that is trying to get along with the other M10P's, but he just needs to sit at a separate table.
Don't do it.
