When I try to use the stock messenger app to send a group message, it winds up sending each person in the distribution list a separate text from me, instead of sending it to the whole group so they can all respond to the group. I'm not sure if I can't find the setting, or if it just doesn't work with the stock app. I like the stock Messenger app though, it's got a great layout. For now I'm using Google Messenger app and the group texting works just fine, so it isn't an issue with my phone.

I need to get a decent app that will allow me to send group sms messages to 70+ contacts at a time. Currently I'm using go sms pro to send them as it can use the groups i've imported via goggle contacts into the stock messaging app.
However some contacts aren't receiving my messages for some reason.
Anyone know of a good paid or free app that will allow me to get the job done properly?

Does go sms pro only send a set amount of texts in one go? If this was the case then maybe that's why alot of my contacts don't get my messages???

Handcent and install the group sms plugin... I don't know why people hate on handcent so much.. The thing works amazing with many nice features

I use CM 10.2 on my HTC ONE X and I really enjoy it. However I have a problem regarding group messaging:
I am in a few group messages, mainly consisting of iPhone users, and all they group text are shown as individual threads. If I want to answer into the group message, I cannot do it. I am using FB Messenger for my SMS/MMS, but I looked at the default Messaging app and all the messages are grouped into individual threads also.
I did some research, but I only found some workarounds using apps like goSMS, but I want to use either FB Messenger or the stock one. I found some websites that claim that this issue was fixed with Android 4.2.2, but it doesn't appear to be.

Need help with finding a messaging app that works the way I want it to. I just recently updated my note 2 to 5.1. My old messenger App allowed me to send a text to multiple recipients without it being a group text. I find group texts to be highly annoying. I have tried about 20 apps on 5.1 and I have found that all of them but the verizon app make it so whenever you send a picture it automatically converts it into a group MMS messenger. On verizon you have to manually change it every time. So my question is if there is a way to send picture messages as solo texts to multiple recepients. Is their an app that will allow me to do that by default.
I have turned off settings such as send as MMS etc. The issue is picture messages are already MMS and therefore that setting does not affect it and it still sends as group.
Please help.
i typically want mine to send out as a group so never checked this on my current sms app.. but right now i'm using Textra. Has all the features I want and is very stable and reliable.

I recently just updated to Marshmallow and since then my Messenger App (version 1.7.050) is not displaying any setting for Group messaging. I can make a group message by adding people to a group conversation but it sends individual text messages to each person.
I can switch my default app to Textra, Hangouts, or Sony's default messaging and they all allow me to use group messaging correctly. They also all display the option in the settings menu to enable/disable group messaging. (Currently all of my texting apps are "enable" group messaging in hopes it will force Messenger App to work, but it does not).
I have uninstalled, re-installed Messenger multiple times, and have performed multiple restarts of the device itself. (still not luck)
Within the settings of Messenger it does display my number correctly, just no MMS/Group messaging Options
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated

I have the same issue. Also on MM and using T-Mobile. I started using hangouts and that works better for me, but MMS doesn't always send correctly using hangouts. Its been a pain in the butt trying to get SMS/MMS working consistently since the MM upgrade. I also tried Textra, and about 50% of the time my MMS would fail on that also. Sticking with Hangouts for now, but once an update gets released for Messenger I will try it again.
Is there any way to get MIUI messages app running on a BB Keyone?
I need the keyboard for my work phone but the stock android messages app is horrible. It doesn't let me send group SMS (text messages). Xiaomi's messaging app is amazing in this regard, as it lets me send group messages via SMS and even shows the group message in the individual conversation.
Is there any way to make this work?
