What is the difference between the SM-S765C and the SM-S766C? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I want to install custom firmware on my SM-S766C but all of them are for the SM-S765C. Will they both work? How are both phones different?

I'm Chinese, and this forum is a fake one, although they "claim" they have the firmware, actually there is nothing in there.

IMHO there are equivalents as same date of issue, same country/carrier, same version, same pda, same csc...

Just different release versions of stock roms for different carriers

Versions are same sir, aren't they?

Android version is the same but build number might be different. What I'm saying is a carrier will build its own select Android and use that for release or future use. It has its own custom apps built in
Ok. Thanks for your efforts, people. You've got any idea on which release I should chose?

Request for ROM recommendation

Just got a 5X (in the US). I would like to use the fingerprint reader (so probably limited to stock ROM?) but would also like to use Xposed if possible,
Could someone recommend a ROM to flash? Or can I put Xposed on stock ROM at this time?

No problem with your stock ROM and with latest Xposed framework. No need to change anything.

Awesome, thanks!
Anyone idea if it will play nice with the Marshmallow update?
And in general what are everyone's impressions of the update? Is it better than the 5.1 stock, or are there bugs?

That's great! My wife has a 5X running the 5.1 stock, rooted but not modified in any other way. I assume the OTA is seamless in terms of not messing up existing apps/accounts/data/settings etc?
I don't want to run the update for her if it's going to cause any issues.

If you would want a custom rom with fp scanner you should try one of the modaco roms.

KII L22C569B130 looking for help.

Greetings! i'm currently looking for an android 6~7 rom for my huawei gr5 (compilation number on the title). I've found several but non of them matches the whole compilation and i'm afraid of bricking my phone, i've installed roms before but was on a nexus one (old old phone) so i'm basically new again. I would pretty much appreciate advice, links, and whatever might help me on this process. Thanks in advance.
There are lots of ROMs in ROMs and kernel section.
So any rom there with the kII l22 tag will work to me? Even if the c569b130 doesn't match? That's my biggest question.

All of them will work if you have a firmware with no VoLTE.

Those roms will work on your device...only caution is it should not be on volte..
Dont forget to Make a full backup and give it a try...
thanks for the advice!, what's VoLTE and how can i disable it?

Voice over LTE. You can't simply disable it for custom Roms to work. You need to be on B350 and below because B360 and above has VoLTE.
Mine is B130 so i'm ready to flash?

No.. stock marshmallow firmware should be on your device..
You can update via OTA update.. Or you canupdate manually.
After that unlock bootloader..then flash twrp and then flash any rom you want to.

Well I guess you can try from Firmware Finder. Worst case scenario is it will fail and your phone will boot normally.
