I think there's an option on bools.xml which you can enable the horizontal lock screen. Search for the crt animation tutorial and look on the same file that you enable the animation and you'll find the option.

I want screen timeout but with one exception?

Hi all, I am using a Galaxy S III. I am happy with my 1 minute screen timeout but with one exception; when I open navigation, (google maps) screen fades when time-out has reached. Smart-Stay is open but I can't look into the phone when I am driving. So is there any chance that I can both use the timeout and not to fade the screen when a app (navigation for example) is on.
Thanks
Navigation or Google Maps? Navigation has a power settings menu that allows you to turn off screen dimming.
If you want to keep the screen from timing out in Google Maps try Tasker.
Try Screebl Lite, it's orientation based.

[Q] How to simulate clicking and hand gestures without touching the screen

Is there a way I can send a touch screen event to an foreground app programmatically on Android?

Hide Googe Gesture Hint Bar?

In Android 10 on the Pixel XL 4, with gesture navigation turned on, there is a thin white hint bar that appears at the bottom center of the screen, presumably to remind users that they can / should swipe up. However, if using the Gboard keyboard in flloating mode (vs. having it docked at the bottom), this causes a very wide black band to appear at the bottom of the screen, which can obscure app functionality. See an example of the text area getting partially hidden in Android's own Messages app, which is attached to this post. Is there anyway to turn off the white bar or prevent the wide black band with native Google gestures turned on?
My workaround has been to use Fluid Natural Gestures (FNG),which doesn't present the problem. If it weren't for this, I'd be fine using the native gestures.
Thanks in advance.

Immersive mode in wide view with keyboard

I'm using the wide view app to use the phone as a mini laptop. The problem is that I can't get the navigation bar to go away. It hangs out at the side of the screen (which I guess it thinks is the bottom) and takes away space from the keyboard. I can get rid of the navigation bar using Fluid Navigation Gestures and ADB, but as soon as I activate wide view, it reappears. Is there a solution for this?
