Hi,
I upgraded to the Marshmallow rom via the OS upgrade early adopters at the weekend but now I am trying to unlock my bootloader to install CM13.
Unfortunately there is no option in the developer settings to 'enable oem unlock' and when I try to unlock i get:
Code:
sudo adb reboot bootloader
sudo fastboot oem unlock 1432461542335923
...
FAILED (status read failed (Value too large for defined data type))
finished. total time: 5.005s
After this no further fastboot commands work until I unplug and re-connect to the pc.
Is there anyway to enable the oem unlock setting via adb?
Or do I need to go back to a lolipop rom to unlock? If so can anyone tell me how to revert to a previous version.
Thanks.
I also upgraded to mm but the bootloader has been unlocked
because to not?
To answer my own problem/ for anyone else having problems it is necessary to remove the factory reset protection (frp) to do this you need to remove all pin/password/fingerprint locks, then remove all google accounts and finally do a factory reset.
Then the usual adb/fastboot commands work fine.
As linux33it says the bootloader can be unlocked without the option in the developer options.
I've a similar issue. I just updated my not unlocked KIW-L21 Stock-ROM from B140 to B330 via the early adopter option in the HiCare-App. Now I want to unlock the bootloader to install TWRP and CM13 afterwards, but I can't unlock the bootloader because FRP is locked and there is no "Allow OEM unlock" in the Dev-Options menu in B330.
Code:
$>adb devices
List of devices attached
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *
W6HDUxxxxxxxxxxx device
$>adb reboot bootloader
$>fastboot oem unlock 48310xxxxxxxxxxx
...
FAILED (remote: Necessary to unlock FRP! Navigate to Settings > Developer op)
finished. total time: 0.011s
$>
Does anyone have an idea, what to do in this situation? Do we have to wait for the next official update and hope that the option in the Dev-Menu is available again?

Hi,
thanks for your post, just one short question: By "remove all google accounts", do you mean under settings->accounts or any other accounts?
Thanks in advance!

Yes under settings>accounts delete any google accounts but it won't hurt to remove any others as you have to do a factory reset (from the phone settings menu) anyway. I followed some instructions about removing frp online and it worked fine and allowed me to unlock the bootloader.
try honor global site

He tried to change his phone region by flashing oeminfo ...bad mistake his only hope is to restore his original oeminfo
The phone actually stores the iemi / build number info / serial num / etc in the efs1 - efs2 - and oeminfo along with local.prop and somewhere else on the phone that's not flashable without a jtag type device.
I have a backup I get from twrp efs and other thing bit how restor it

no have option unlock OEM in my developer settings
my pc is windows 10 64bit
i receive correct code unlock huawei
the drivers is OK
Device is recognized by the pc in fastboot
the comand adb reboot fastboot is OK
but, in developer settings no have option OEM UNLOCK
my honor is abdroid Nougat
and....no work unlock comand
very sad
Okay, so it looks as if Fastboot is disabled on my device. I went into the Stock Rom, and I found there is a switch on the Stock Rom that turns Fastboot on and off. It says: Allow Oem Unlock.
I've heard of some folks bricking their Phones this way by flipping this switch in the stock rom. Is that true?
My choices seem to be:
1. Use SP Flash Tool to Flash TWRP. Then TWRP to load AOSP Extanded, or Lineage.
2. attempt to use that switch to see if it will let me do a fastboot oem unlock.
I'd like to try the second, but I want to know if thats a land mine to a bricked Phone if I flip the switch to allow OEM Unlock of the bootloader.
$ fastboot-android oem get_identifier_token
...
FAILED (remote: unknown command)
All attempts to use fastboot to unlock the device have met with this error.
It will fastboot reboot, but nothing else. I have a feeling something like the fastboot DirtyCow Exploit will be needed.

Thank you. I tried to reset through the setting and through eRecovery, for both, the reset stuck at 0%. Bootloader is unlocked, FRP is locked. I can't toggle the button to enable OEM unlocking.
Are you using phone with working sim, or without? Why I ask about sim? If not working sim card, then a lot phones will not give OEM unlock option, once it was for me with Sony phone, after I inserted sim needet to wait weak and only then OEM unlock option was accessable.
What are your phone full model ? Like, ane-lx1c432b166

ok, didnt give full ph0ne model, dont need, can go and find all you need yourself : from this : https://forum.xda-developers.com/hu...om-official-emui-8-0-huawei-p20-lite-t3773999
7. dload package
In this site you can search for firmware by Huawei P20 Lite or directly by your device oem name (ANNE-L01, ANNE-L03, ANNE-L21, ANNE-L22, ANNE-L23, etc...
http://androidhost.ru/search.html
Download the firmware that match with your device and unzip.
Under folder Software you will found the folder dload, copy this folder to sdcard.
Under folder ReleaseDoc you will find a Software Upgrade Guideline.docx, read it.
User data will be wiped.
Update is done with stock recovery
If your Bootloader is currently unlocked at the end it will be changed to lock state.
i gues you have your bootloader code, you can even use older package, adn reset your phone using this dload method!!

Hallo again,
Ok so for the stock recovery you can download it on the thread by ciubi93, on this link https://mega.nz/#!SR9RzKST!dhXS0yC-p_SvWu-SYYLaop1aRFzSulLVrnSXCVVJiGI after you download this, download the fastboot adb tools - here's a link of the xda for that https://www.xda-developers.com/install-adb-windows-macos-linux/ after you did that guide from xda, copy the stock recovery into that folder and then press shift+right click of your mouse on the folder and select "open powershell window here (in case of windows 10) or in case of windows 7 (open command prompt window here)" , if you have a power shell window then power off your device then press power ON + volume down and type on the window ".\fastboot flash recovery recovery_ramdisk.img ", after this you have your stock recovery successfully reset and you can now flash the official dload package, try it via power ON + Volume down + Volume up at the same time until the huawei logo disappears and then you release.
I really hope this helps cause I tried this a lot on mine.

Hi there
Yeah I forgot you have FRP locked....My bad....Anyway, can you tell me the current build you have and the one you want to install? Example: C17 8.0.0.140
Because if you try to install a different firmware which is not from your country you need to change your oem info first.

Also if you had it unlocked I assume you have the unlock code with you, in that case try this first:
Relock the bootloader using fastboot command "fastboot oem relock *codehere* " this will erase all DATA, it will do an hard reset, be sure to backup first!
After that, you can unlock the bootloader again via fastboot command "fastboot oem unlock *codehere*" and then it will unlock both bootloader and FRP

Hm, if I'm correct, you can't unlock bootloader, if frp are locked, frp will be unlocked, when you allow OEM unlock under developer options.
Only thing there can do, connect with mofuz ROM developer to help return to stock, otherwise our suggestions will not work, because all I know is for stock emui.
But yeah, with right phone build number he shulda be able to return to stock with no problem, so, does he know what was stock emui build he had before started to play with phone..??!!
And, can download all dload packages and try them all, no harm if it fails, but maybe some will reflash system as it should be

You can't unlock FRP when you have the booloader unlocked yes I know, but what I said is for him to relock first and then unlock it again Once he unlocks again the FRP will become unlocked, I looked into this thread for that and they also confirmed it works here's the proof if you have doughts quoting @clsA "FRP Lock occurs when the phone has a firmware mismatch and or oem unlocking is not on in developer options":

That's interesting. So all your data was wiped when you used the hstool?
Someone else said flashing firmware via dload method also relocks the bootloader.
hmm i'm not sure.
I'll explain the whole situation.
I had just unlocked the bootloader and installed magisk.
after installing magisk, I installed a few modules, one of which made my phone bootloop.
I managed to get back into fastboot mode, use hstool to select my firmware (224) along with the patched hisuite from funkyhuawei.
after my phone recovered, it seems to have been completely reset and locked.
*edit*
I guess I should also add, I've never installed TWRP on this phone, only patched the recovery_ramdis.img for Magisk

You need an external usb-c drive with some firmware on it.
I initially used v187 from this thread
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-20-pro/how-to/firmware-update-187-brings-oem-unlock-t3897301
Since then I downloaded a v206 which works over USB but I cannot recall where I got it from.
Note that you will loose all user data since the phone will be fully wiped.
Also this method requires a phone that is working, as in able to boot and access the dialer and menus.
If I find out where I got the v206 I will post it here as well.
I should also add, maybe it might work with a memory card as well... But this method requires an external source for the firmware since it formats the entire phone
@ xeroxide Thx for your help.
I Try this at the weekend.
If you need to relock your bootloader, this is the process:
Using eRecovery, restore your phone to stock
Once done, boot into recovery and RESET your phone (if you dont, it will not allow you to lock the bootloader)
Boot into fastboot mode (Holding Vol-DOWN, plug in usb cable) , and run the command
fastboot oem relock < bootloader unlock code>
the phone should now ask you that it will wipe your device, confirm,
Enjoy locked phone!

Hi,
has anybody tried to relock the bootloader?!
i was a little over hasty and unlocked a device. I thought (yeah, i didnt checked it ...) if asus is offering a unlocker, it should be no big deal to lock it again.
But everything i found is for the ZF8, and all i found does not work on the ZF9.
It starts that there is no adb/sideload option in recovery nor have i found a custom recovery.
And every relock command in fastboot is not known by the fastboot environement of the ZF9...
So has anybody found a way?
thx in advance.
Matt
Has anyone found a method to close the bootloader again? I'm thinking of opening it but I'm worried that I won't find a method to close it if necessary.

If you haven't tried it, you can try it with:
-fastboot oem asus-back
-fastboot oem asus-csc_lk
-fastboot flashing lock
-fastboot flashing lock_critical
-fastboot oem lock
-fastboot oem lock_critical
-fastboot flash !frp-partition! default_key.bin
-fastboot oem asus-lock
No. Didnt work. 'Command not supported in default implemantation' All of these commands.
I did not try the *critical commands and the "frp partition". I had not time to read me in on that. And i dont want to brick the phone complete.
For what it's worth, fastboot oem asus-csc_lk worked for me. It also wiped the phone itself, I didn't have to do it manually.

Doesn't seem so. 2050 was released two weeks ago and didn't show up in the updater, so I had to install it manually today.

Same, though I expected that since I rooted.
For any one wondering how to update, just take the firmware file from ASUS's site, place it in your phone's internal storage, then either wait a few seconds for the update notification to pop up or restart your phone (you should see it then). Follow the prompts from there.

This command works? Can someone give me a quick guide to close the bootloader? Right now I have twrp and magisk.

1. You can only re-lock the bootloader by going back to the stock firmware/recovery, losing twrp and magisk.
2. Re-locking the bootloader does not re-enable the OTA updates, but might help with Google Pay/SafetyNet attestation if that's broken for some reason.
3. This command works. Just flash the stock firmware and recovery, then do adb reboot bootloader and fastboot oem asus-csc_lk.

To flash the stock recovery is it enough to install the full zip of the stock ROM from twrp and reboot?

ok, just one last question. If I have the latest version (2060.113) with TWRP, to leave everything stock what I have to flash is the zip downloaded from ASUS (also 2060.113: https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/ZenFone/AI2202/ASUS_AI2202-33.0804.2060.113-kernel-src.tar.gz?model=Zenfone%209 ). I have seen that there are other ROMs called RAW, but I don't know exactly which one to install. I'm afraid that when installing the zip from that link something "non-stock" will remain installed and when closing the bootloader the smartphone won't boot.

I can't say much about this. I don't think it's going to be a problem, but of course you're doing it at your own risk.
