Anyone experiencing front camera broken after the update, video taking is fine but for some reason taking photo is just showing gray photo at all, I have to restart every time to fix it.

I've just noticed a very slight click sound when I launch the camera on the s3. Only the rear camera not the front one. Dont think it was there before and just wondering if its a problem. As I said its very slight and only when you launch the camera not when taking pics, switching to video mode etc.

I've been asked to try and sort an issue with the rear camera (main camera) on a family members SGII (I9100P). The rear camera when activated just shows black. I have tried numerous different Kernels and different ROM's. I installed the latest 4.1.2 for the I9100P and the rear camera worked for about 20 minutes and then it went back to displaying black. The front facing camera works fine.
Any ideas on the cause of this or how to fix it?

Quick update. I rooted the phone using this method and now the camera works for a little while and then freezes and "Unknown error by ErrorCallback" comes up on the screen. I exit out and re-enter the camera and the screen is black, but if I then exit out and re-enter, it starts again for a very short while.
Bump - Anyone? I am 'assuming' it is software related as it works for a short while then cuts out.

My mobile front camera isn't working or not I don't know but I think it os issue or any other is front camera hardware effected. After opening front cam it doesn't taking photo and the screen turns into green often black but idle no captures stucks.

I have started experiencing this issue with my galaxy s9+.
The camera no longer capture those impressive shots which it used to capture last month or until few weeks ago.
Now the photos are blur and focus is very bad.
Anyone facing similar issue.

My camera is capturing photos, the shots which it used take were very impressive and now the quality has become very bad all of sudden.
Please see the 1st photo in white t-shirt. It is few weeks ago.
The second photo in black t-shirt is captured now. It is very blur. No matter how many times I try or change location or light condition. Photos are very blur and focus is very bad.
FYI... I reset the camera settings and clean the partition cache several times.

To see if it's the hardware or the software, I would suggest you try the same photo setup with a DIFFERENT camera application to see if the problem is in all the camera apps or in just the one you're using.
Each camera app will have its own set of settings which may help you debug, e.g., the GCam port has these settings screenshotted below which can help you debug such as "dirty lens warning" and resolution setup.
But the SIMPLEST camera app to test might be this FOSS camera app from Mark Harmon. If that doesn't work, nothing will.
There is also the free "camera2api" probe utility program which may provide hardware malfunction indicators.
Hi, I recently bought a tripod and tried to use my pixel 6 with an external shutter. However I noticed that the camera app became greyed out after I took a photo with the external shutter.
After I force close and reopen the camera app the screen became normal again. When I take a photo with the 'normal' button in the camera app everything is fine, so I think the grey screen only happens when photos are snapped with the external shutter.
The whole screen became white washed in a sense, may I know what might be causing this issue and how do I fix it? Thanks!
