TWRP for the OnePlus 5T with File Based Encryption support. Everything is working as expected! Unlock your device with fastboot oem unlock and then fastboot flash the recovery. The stock rom WILL reset your recovery on boot!
Not working / issues
Restoring data partition from backups will lead to boot issues if FBE-encrypted. It's not a TWRP issue but rather a side effect on how FBE works.

any plans for 3.2.0 ?
Currently there are some issues with it booting. Once 8.1 is merged, I’d say 3.2 will be out from me. Otherwise, I’m waiting on the test build from #twrp to get it official. Once that comes in, it will likely be expedited.
Official twrp has taken a surprisingly long time considering that sources have been out for a while
Waiting for official one. There must be a issue which takes time to fix. Never saw TWRP team need a so long time period between device release to TWRP release.
Finally an official TWRP comes out. That was the only thing I was waiting for. I just now need to find the time to root the phone...

Just to understand this correctly... We will have issues restoring data partitions if FBE is enabled? Since FBE was introduced to Android in 7.0, this means we would have to be decrypted for any restore operations to work? Is that only for this version? I swear I saw others restoring data without issues in TWRP as long as they removed their Fingerprint.
Thanks for your work, regardless.

It worked for me if PIN was used exclusively. There still are some ways for the restore to go wrong, so I left the warning.
3.1.1.0 doesn't recognize my OTG and fix for this ?

Updated to 3.2.0. Enjoy!
Also, this is now official: https://twrp.me/oneplus/oneplus5t.html
I liked the theme for the previous version unofficial version.
anyway to replicate that theme with the updated TWRP?

Dont use it for now!
5T users are advised to stay on TWRP by ibe or bluspark as official twrp has issues with data restore, I have tested restore on ibe and bluspark and both work fine for now. Looking at the past track of OnePlus devices official for dumpling would also not be maintained and further updated so it's best to stay on unofficial for now which would be frequently maintained and updated.
Thanks to @FuNkWizard for his tests and heads up.

Try the OTG on TWRP, but same adaptor working on OxygenOS, don't want to work on TWRP... strange.
Did you boot on TWRP with OTG connected?
I solved it by upgrading to version 3.2.0..OTG work fine on that..... Love the custom theme as well.....
Sent from my ONEPLUS A5010 using XDA Free mobile app
This is quick, Thank you.
For some reason USB otg is not recognized when I'm on official 3.2.0 TWRP. Bluspark doesn't have this problem. Any advices?

Tested /data restore using Bluspark: works just fine.
Tested /data restore using Official 3.2.x: works just fine.
But, ymmv, so if BS version is safer/better: use that one

Hi All,
So after searching all the threads and forums I have created this thread to address this issue and to get possible solutions.
I have a Redmi Note 4 - Snapdragon/Qualcomm variant 4GB/64GB version.
Bootloader Status: Unlocked.
OS Version: MIUI 8, 7.4.20 Developer Version.
So sometime back I tried to upgrade to the latest Version of MIUI9 7.9.15. When the system got updated and rebooted my phone got softbricked. SS below. I was on one of the Custom ROMs AEX and tried updating the firmware of MIUI9 and faced the same issue. However am able to come out of the brick using MiFlash tool am still not sure what's causing the issue.
NOTE: Even after reverting back I see the weird lines on screen unless I flash the previous firmware version again.
Would appreciate your thoughts and inputs. Thanks!

What about fastboot mode?
Have you tried a full wipe and fresh install of the developer ROM, if that's the one you want?

Apologies not able to add the Screens onto the OP for some reason stating I need to post some 10 posts or so.
Everything fastboot, recovery, boot screen shows a display which is messed up and shows scrambled screen.

Did a full wipe and flashed Dev ROM latest build through MiFlash also the latest stable build causes the same issue. Not able to see anything the display gets messed up showing only some scramble red and black vertical lines.
Not able to attach the screens. Will do attach them as soon as am able to.

Yeah that too. Gosh! wish XDA allowed me to attach some SS.
Everything goes Haywire, I would have to flash the old Dev build through MiFlasher again and flash the TWRP .IMG file through fastboot. It such a pain good thing I have my bootloader unlocked else would be lost.

Thanks for the suggestion but like I mentioned few posts earlier I did try flashing the Stable build fastboot version - v 8.5.4.0 and the same thing happened. So got me thinking issue seems not to be confined with MIUI9 but something which am not able to figure out.

Pretty sure firmware is closely associated to Bootloader, Boot and Recovery much more than the ROM itself. Then the Signal reception, radio and stuff. But I may be wrong.
I am looking for someone who has a Xiaomi Black Shark (SKR-A0) that HAS NEVER ROOTED THEIR PHONE!

Has a locked/unlocked bootloader
Has NEVER rooted their Black Shark Device
MUST be CN version (SKR-A0)
Thanks!

i messed up. im stuck on fastboot (bootloader) mode. everytime i choose recovery mode or start, it vibrates and restarts 4 or 5 times only upto the S logo, before going back to fastboot mode again.
"fastboot boot twrp-3.2.3-0-blackshark.img" didnt work for me. it just starts my phone normally. so i tried "fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.2.3-0-blackshark.img" and got error.
need help pls.
edit: im still reading the whole thread and learning of flashing my bs from skr-a0 to skr-h0. i hope ill succeed from the files and procedures im getting at this link: youtube.com/watch?v=ywC_9Hrpb_I
edit2: was successful in flashing to skr-h0 using flash_all.bat (not brick anymore yay! it gave me the chills really.) sending "fastboot boot twrp-3.2.3-0-blackshark.img" command also now loads me to twrp (thank heavens) but i need to system update OTA first before trying to root again. will update soon.
edit3: now enjoying root on android 8.1... found the hard way that twrp-3.2.3-0-blackshark.img is not for android 9 and wont boot to twrp. probably flashed back to 8.1 for like 5 times more or less. hope maurino or someone else will make and release twrp-3.2.3-1-blackshark.img soon. thanks again for this wonderful thread.
btw: i originally wanted skr-a0 but i cant seem to download the link in the youtube video. file is corrupted. is it just me? i tried on 3 different workstations to no avail.

I haven't had any issues with the pie update. TWRP currently doesn't work, but the source files on GitHub have been updated I believe. TWRP needs to be available for rooting.

Hi,
does anyone know if there's an actual official build of TWRP for Curtana in the works right now? I'm waiting for this to install Xiaomi.eu as I don't trust the LRTWRP or the LineageOS one that is going around lately.

Don't hope to get official release very soon as they are in bottle neck with Android 10.(can take months...)
If you want a TWRP make use of LRteam one. Just avoid to do back up with it..

Just clean flash it.
Edit: Last time I encrypted my lineageos, I couldn't flash anyting through twrp as it wouldn't ask me for decryption password. So make sure your current TWRP supports decryption or else you'll run in to the same problem as I did.
Then I can't take the risk if it wasn't possible to flash via TWRP (twrp-3.4.0-0-kiwi).
So you couldn't even flash LineageOS updates.
Goddamit. 2020 (almost 2021) and still not possible to encrypt smartphone easily with LineageOS+TWRP.

Those decryption commits never went far with developers. Also, you should not encrypt this device, it will lag like hell probably.

To be fair, it's just this one device. I don't have any other device that doesn't support encryption. I have 5 other devices currently running LOS all with encryption that work perfectly. The only one that hasn't ever worked correctly has been the Honor 5X.
I'm currently running OOS 10.3.7 on my HD1910 and it's been that way since new. But, I'd much rather be using the European OOS 10.0.13 as I'm in the UK. I can't do a local upgrade because it won't let me. It considers 10.3.7 to 10.0.13 a downgrade.
So, I was wondering how to switch? Will it let me do so when OOS 11 arrives? I realise I'll need to make sure everything is backed up and that switching will wipe my device. It needs a good clear up anyway. I'm familiar with ADB. I used to flash roms to my OnePlus One years ago.
Any advice or tips appreciated. Thank you.

Happy to say that I've managed to switch from the India version to the International version by simply updating to Oxygen OS 11 Open Beta One.
Backed up all my data, installed OOS11 Open Beta and then did a factory reset. Everything works well. Enjoying my 7T Pro all over again. Just like a new device.

Further update.
I was running Oxygen OS 11 Beta 4 but wanted to revert to the normal build. I was told it wasn't possible without reverting to Oxygen OS 10 via the MSM tool and then upgrading. Anyway, I managed to switch when Oxygen OS 11.0.0.2 came out.
I downloaded the full zip using Oxygen Updater. I then tried the local upgrade from settings and expected it to fail. However, it went ahead and did a factory wipe at the end of the process. It then rebooted and I'm now running Oxygen OS 11.0.0.2.HD01BA.
