I am using Redmi Note 4 with linage os of unofficial build 8.0 Oreo. I've flashed soviet star custom kernel which supports android o (as mentioned in kernel the therad) and got bott stuck. I have wiped data and dalvik cache but problem not solved. I have also tried other kernels after reverting to stock kernels but not worked for me. Please help me to make this kernel work. I think i am doing something wrong. Please help me out. Thanks.

Los 15 or you can say Oreo roms based on new sources are not supported by Soviet star . And that kernel is too old man . The thread was closed long time ago .
I have tried another kernels like revolt and electra blue kernel and got boot stuck. But that two kernels worked on nougat rom. Please suggest me a good kernel which supports android o. @Boomshiva

Revolt doesn't work on new Oreo roms yet .
Electra blue works in new Oreo ROM (get the Oreo based one )
Also there is velvet kernel that works with oreo

Apparently, I can't delete this thread now :| for me the solution was clearing the Dalvik cache
Hi friends,
First of all I would like to thank all the developers, testers and members of the forum. It is good to see that new roms, kernels are still being developed.
I just got a Note 3 few days back and I want to gain max from it in terms of balance/battery performance along with some customizations. Although I am familiar with the concept of rooting etc but in a simpler way. Like I have Nexus 7 2013 and there is a tool called Wugfresh NexusTool Kit. It does all things by itself and I just have to download roms or update the ToolKit.
I do not want to try many roms or kernels to find a right one for me. So consider this as a review suggestion for Rom+Kernel Combo. Now, What I need is :
1a. Volte must work,
1b. FP must work,
1c. Xposed Framework should work for greenify/adaway etc (preferred choice)
1d. Battery should not drain more than stock else no point flashing custom rom for me.
1e. Signal should be stable & wifi/hotspot work without problem as I use this device solely for WifiHotspot.
1f. Should be stable but I can adjust with less important bugs like Reading Light, Lite Mode setting etc. I dont need them.
1g. Feature rich.
1h. Rom should use least resources/ram etc and have no bloatwares.
So, kindly help me in finding a stable Rom+Kernel combo. My device is Kenzo(Snapdragon) with the latest stock MIUI 8.1.1.0 Rom and FP is FPC. Also, I do not have micro sd card so I can take back up of phone on the phone itself. I would also like to know about the process of successfully using f2fs format on Note 3. So friends, I am awaiting your kind suggestions.
Thank you.

Thanks but what about Kernel? Any Nougat Rom suggestion?

If you want Xposed, you can't have Nougat, there's no Xposed for it. Radon kernel and the ROM I linked to is a good combination.
You can try RR Remix Rom + Radon kernel. Its a great combo with lots of feature, good battery life and stable for daily use. If you want Xposed than flash MM version of RR Remix Rom cause Nougat Rom does not support Xposed as of now.

Thanks but in Lineage OS 13(very good rom), people are still reporting bugs. I prefer a stable rom with almost no bugs.

Thanks, but which rom supports substratum and vulcan, if not RR Remix?
And which Recovery would be good, ZCX or Official TWRP 3.0.2.2?

1-). Nitrogen OS Stock kernel is the best. (Dummy know why it isn't bootibg Try clean flashing)
2-). Franco kernel is the best for any nougat ROM AFAIK
3-) Radon kernel a stupendously made kernel you can try it (its the best for miui mm works very good on nougat roms too)

A few days ago i posted a Thread Where I shared the Best ROM for Gaming...
There i said RADON Kernel GAMING CONFIG is good to use stuff.....
But Strange Thing Happens NOW!!!!!!
Every ROM now which has the lastest build like After MAY 2018.....
If it is Flashed With RADON KERNEL it BOTLOOPS...
I Tried MANY ROMs
ABC
AEX 5.4
COSMIC OS
MCAOSP
HAVOC
BOOTLEGGERS
I Know That MCAOSP has not been updated after 5th April.....
But All BOOTLOOPED With RADON KERNEL
BUT ALL OF THEM BOOTED-UP WHEN FLASHED WITH AGNI KERNEL
If you say enjoy with Agni then i would say i need them for gaming purpose & Gaming With RADON is DOPE
The Kernel Has Also Not Been Updated Since Long Time
Now I am Thinking What Is The Real Problem....
Can Someone Help me Out....
I also Flashed The Latest Firmware And Tried ...SAME RESULT
ANY EXPERT GOT THE SOLUTION??
DID IT EVEN HAPPENED WITH YOU
Nope, never happend to me
Maybe try to clean flash,?
The kernel is abandoned I heard. Umang got an rn5 because his Kenzo broke. Also you can probably get the same results editing other kernel for the gaming experience.

I tried every kernel i can think of for Nougut and Oreo (Radon, Shadow, Darkness, Agni) And Radons performance was 10 times bettee then every of Thema together
The first thing I advise you is to check if the bootloader is unlocked using the Mi Unlock application (you have to go into fastboot mode), it ends up stuck and you see if you recover.
Otherwise it returns to miui flashando the Rom through Miui Rom Flashing tool (Fastboot), and then after you if you want to install the custom rom again you have to install the recovery twrp.
You cant flash older kernels on newer roms due to this commit, if you want Radon : flash older roms.
lol idk about your problem but im using bootleggers rom + radon kernel and everythings works fine

Bro i have exactly same problem...not getting the solution???
which android version (O/P???), did you flash the right kernel version? (O for O, P for P? and yes, there is a radon kernel working on pie, but not the official version ), what ROM did you use before, what did you wipe before flashing, if you are coming from miui, did you format data, you wrote everything down except the informations we need to find what you should do differently.

Use nitrogen OS, this problem is fixed there. Or RR of you want oreo. Ididn't use bootleggers because for me it didn't provide anything more.
I wanted to flash a custom Kernel for the best battery life and buttery performance over my Nitrogen OS 8.1 ROM. After going through the xda posts and several kernel review videos, Franco Kernel was the best match.
So I tried flashing the latest version 'fk-r16-anykernel2.zip' over my clean ROM but it resulted in a bootloop. So I did a factory reset, flashed AOSP Extended (I thought probably Nitrogen OS and Franco doesn't go hand in hand), and tried Franco Kernel again but without success. I tried all the available versions of the kernel for Oreo ROMs but all resulted in a bootloop ultimately. Please help if anyone has faced the same problem.
I tried wiping the Cache and Dalvik Cache before and after flashing the kernel (although I don't see a point in doing that).
My device information:
Device - Redmi Note 3 SD (Kenzo)
ROM - AOSP Extended Oreo (June 10 official build)
Bootloader unlocked.
TWRP Recovery 3.2.1 installed.
No custom kernel installed.
FK is outdated and will NOT work with roms with the new device tree. This is already posted on that thread and AOEX too.

Ohh.. I didn't know that.. Thanks for your quick reply.. Can you please suggest any alternate Kernel that's as good and supports the new device tree?
Thanks in advance.
Agni kernel latest
The stock kernel is good enough for me, you can always use a kernel auditor to edit it. People use agni kernel.

I tried that too. But there were stutters everywhere. That led me on to Radon. Are you using it with AOSP Extended?
Im using it on bootleggers
