Does any substratum theme support skinning the Play Music or is there some kind of zip I can flash to change the Play Music look. I love the features and everything but the interface is horrible imo. Any third party streamer would be fine too
I'm interested in this as well... Although I could make one but I just don't have that much time to kill. It doesn't have to be a theme, persay. It can be a simple overlay skin packaged and sold in the play store. Or even a bunch of translucent dark tinted squares selectively arranged to dimm the white areas... Humm... That last one could be handy.
Anyone know if a tinted universal overlay violates any play store rules? I doubt it...but...

Just thought I'd share this neat lil find with the community
This is a live wallpaper similar to the playstation 3 menu screen. With the waves. Has a few settings that add textures and multiple colours n best thing is it's free.
https://market.android.com/details?id=crazyzenlab.wavelivewallpaper.lite
It's like a cross between the PSP and PS3 one (i think)
The PSP one is more solid color like.
The PS3 one is more translucent and glass like.
But I'm working off memory, havnt touched my PSP/PS3 in a while (cant install android on them, well mabye some day on the psp with android/mips)
Wait, why does a LWP need course location access and full internet? They trying to track you down?
No idea prolly 3rd party bs. I just use droidwall n block most apps that don't need the net
The paid version has more features like making it auto change colors and lets u control the textures/speed and shake to change sorry if most this is also in the lite version. I paid the $1
I absolutely love this theme, been using it since the day it came out.
Have one problem I can't figure out. On the music page, no matter which player I've tried, amazon mp3, Google Music, or power amp, it will not show the album art or the track an artist information.
The only modification I've done to the theme was to unlock the widgets so I could delete Instagram. I don't use it.
Oh, maybe it would be a good idea to release an update for this skin with the Xbox 1 SmartGlass app added to it. I've added the shortcut in place of the Instagram one, but it won't Center in that window.
Thanks for the great work. Love this app.

Thanks for the Smart Glass addition, will speak to the team! Regarding the music widget (we're guessing you're running KitKat, let us know if you're not) there should be an update soon for it. KitKat is giving us a lot of hassles :silly:
Yes, on my Nexus 5.
You guys are great, thanks!
I was just wondering if any one could port S6 r S6 edge theme store app to our beloved note 2?
& would it work or not...?
any flashable zip or apk, may be...
I can't say 100% because I'm not familiar with the S6 or the app of which you speak of but it would seem to me that Theme support needs to be built into the firmware and the theme changing app itself is only the front end of that whole system (kind of like the steering wheel, pedals and dashboard in car allow you to drive and operate it but are only a small part of it). Transposing the Theme app alone into a Note 2 firmware which has no theme support would be like taking that steering wheel out, sticking it on a couch and hoping the couch would take you places.
I can totally understand why you'd want Theme support though... Samsung's Note II UI is mind numbingly ugly. I have NII as well and am still on root stock FW as well. I personally don't want to flash a 3rd party rom. I've swapped out most of the samsung apps for more modern looking ones to refresh UI a bit (ADW launcher with marshmallow theme, google messenger/photos/calendar/chrome, k9 open source email client with daytime theme, true phone for dialer and contacts, VLC for video, PowerAmp with White Plastic theme for music, Clock L/Camera M from app store etc). 80% of the UI looks really good now: flat, bright and modern. The only holdouts are the notification menu, the system dialog boxes, the part of the dialer that actually makes the phone calls and the system preference app. I'm actually seriously considering decompiling these apks and modding the UI to make it look like Marshmallow or Lolli. I'd probably post them if I do. I'm still on 4.1.2 though and I don't know how many people are still on JB for the note 2.
If you decide to install 3rd party apps to modernize your phone, be sure to read very carefully the permission section (especially the Misc part) before installing them. The fewer permissions they need the better. If an application is asking you for a permission that doesn't make sense for it, install something else. I would highly recommend a firewall to block internet access to apps that have no business going on the net (like camera, dialer, contacts, clock, launcher etc). DroidWall is an excellent firewall, bit of a pain in the ass to setup initially but totally worth it.
Hey
Loving my new Xperia 1, even the camera is actually good in Auto Mode this time round, however, Im wondering if SONY included a theme store or services in the X1, like they did in the XZ2 and XZ3..
At one time it was called "Whats New", then they just integrated it into the Settings menu under "Appearance", but now it looks like SONY have ditched any kind of Themes, Icons, Sounds, wallpapers, Services etc..
I know there are dozens on the Play Store, but they all come with BS ads or pop ups or blote..
Any advice
Themes no longer work on Xperia 1 and What's New has been discontinued
I've been using this launcher for about a month or so now, and I REALLY love it!! If anyone else likes Windows 10 inspired launchers, this is the best one I've found. It is very true to the name. It looks and operates like Windows 10. There are absolutely NO ADS, or in-app purchases. It has a lot of features, with more on the way. The developers are very friendly, and prompt with their responses. Third party icon pack support is included as well, so you can have the layout you want.
Here's a play store link to the app in case anyone wants to try it out. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.InternityLabs.Launcher.WinX
I have added screen shots showing the home screen and various windows for functions, and options. This launcher does support live wallpapers, I tested that out as well. The live wallpaper I used is about 10 years old, and there were no errors or interruptions to my regular everyday usage. I spend a lot of time on my phone changing my layout and themes, and this works perfectly for that.
Items that have been moved to the recycle bin can be deleted directly from there. There is also a screen shot showing apps that have been hidden from the app drawer. You can resize the app drawer as well.
