My phone is HTC EVO 3D, and it's bricking after the ICS update from provider. It hangs on the HTC logo. I read numerous post about flashing it with update or rom, but it's now S-ON and when I try to flash from SD card in recovery it gives me :
Invalid Operation
Rebooting Reasonem-00
As far as I know I have to get it to S-OFF before I can use recovery to flash it, but I tried revolutionary and seems like it require the phone in a working state to function. Currently when I run revolutionary with usb connected on HBOOT-1.49.0008 menu revolutionary won't connect. I don't have CWM either and I don't know how to get it onto the phone without Market Place and S-ON.
Is there anyway to get it to S-OFF so I can move forward to fix my phone with any working rom? Fastboot is connecting no problem (at HBOOT menu) but I don't know if it allows me to flash or turn it to S-OFF.
Thanks in advance.
Gil
I don't have your phone but I know that if u search it you might be able to get the official ics update for your device and the put it on your sd card and update from the boot loader and your phone would probably boot up and be fine but like i said Google it bc you probably have to rename the file something special. I'm kinda a noob so sorry if this didn't help

the RUU from Rogers wouldn't update either.
I'm not able to flash the Clockwork Mod to the recovery using fastboot.
I tried flashing King Cobra but after the flash the phone still doesn't boot. I'm still on S-ON. Revolutionary still won't connect...
I read this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1560279&page=21
that says I can flash the rom with S-ON with 4Ext recovery. But I can't do anything with the downloaded apk file as my phone doesn't boot up properly to the system. Where can I find the recovery img to flash it manually with fastboot?
Thanks.
Fixed this by:
1) Getting the official RUU on ICS.
2) Connect USB in HBOOT
3) Use fastboot to relock the bootloader
4) Run RUU on Windows and successfully flashed everything
So seems like S-ON pluse unlocked bootloader means no no to both official rom and custom rom.
My friends phone is an EVO LTE and it was rooted with a ROM and TWRP and HBOOT 1.15.
For some reason....He installed the system update from Sprint and rebooted the phone and wiped Cache, Dalvik and System. Then he reset the phone and it got stuck at the HTC bootscreen.
I was able to get into recovery, wiped everything and I tried installing FRESH ROM. It said 'successful' and then rebooted and the screen was just black. I went back into recovery and noticed the status is S-ON.
I downloaded the newest JB RUU but it won't detect the device as I cant boot into the OS.
What do I do?
Try flashing the kernel separately with boot image flasher or using fastboot

How?
My knowledge is limited to rooting and flashing ROM packages. On my RAZR there is a program I can run on my computer with the phone in fastboot and then push the RUU file to the phone via the program with the phone in fastboot mode.
I dont know if that is possible on the EVO or if I can do it.
HTC has self contained ruu packages that run themselves. It seems like you just need to flash the kernel separately though. In the android development section (or original development) there is a program there for flashing the kernel. If you want to just run an ruu, there should be links posted in development. There are issues with the new hboot and writing to system partition so try running the ruu for the hboot you already have to avoid any problems

DO NOT RUN THE 3.15 RUU ON THAT PHONE UNLESS THE FIRWAREs ARE UP TO DATE AND YOU ALREADY HAVE HBOOT 2.09.
Else this will happen to you:

That first post posted,
If you already did a factory reset...
All you need to do is fast boot the FreshRom kernel in fastusb mode. Grab boot.img
in fastusb mode in the bootloader do:
fastboot flash boot boot.img

^I'm not certain how to do get it into 'FASBOOT USB'. Mine just says FASTBOOT, that tutorial is a bit confusing. adb says "error: device not found". Obviously, I am having trouble connecting the USB....Also, what boot.img file should I use? Why does it say S-ON?
With the phone in bootloader select fastboot. It should say fastboot usb, type fastboot devices to make sure its connected. Open the Rom zip you flashed and extract the boot.img and put it in adb folder. Type fastboot flash boot boot.img and reboot phone. If all went well you should have a working rom

Out of curiosity can you confirm the current HBOOT version?
Also, you need to have the HTC drivers or HTC sync installed for the phone to recognize the computer and go into FASBOOT USB. Otherwise it just stays in fastboot.
I also have had issues using the USB 3.0 ports on my computer, like wise with USB hubs. USB 2.0 directly into the computer.
Outside of that, I'd just load MeanBean and let it handle the flashing of the kernel if I were you. Just make sure you have the latest radios.
I got it!
When I choose FASTBOOT from the Bootloader, it just says FASTBOOT, not FASTBOOT USB.
I then chose the option REBOOT BOOTLOADER and it came back up as FASTBOOT USB.
YAY!
Thanks fellas!

Not really, still running 1.15 firmware and meanbean with no issues. When I finally have time to, I'll soff my phone but until then the only issue is my ap not showing (all jb roms so probably fw issue) which isn't really a problem for me

Wow. What timing. You just answered my question. I was thinking about flashing a JB sense ROM (I never use sense, so I wasn't sure about radios). Then it occurred to me, I'm not on the latest firmware and wondered if I needed to be on the latest to run a JB sense ROM.
I've been on JB AOSP for a looong time. I know on my old Evo I always ran new ROM with old radio and it didn't matter, but this device is much more delicate.

So I bought a HTC One off craigslist and factory reset it using TWRP. Now I am stuck on the boot screen with nothing but access to recovery and bootloader. I have no backups or ROM to flash from and i can't seem to mount the internal storage. I tried everything! I am currently attempting to push a custom or stock ROM to it using ADB and TWRP's sideload mode but it is not detecting my device. I have the latest HTC sync application and drivers. I need suggestions and help
If I were you I'd start over with an ruu. There's one available for at&t in the dev section. Boot to bootloader and plug in the phone to the computer. If you see fastboot USB in red, you're all set
Here's the RUU http://www.androidfiles.org/ruu/get....13_10.33.1150.01_release_318450_signed_2.exe

Additionally, if you can boot into bootloader, download the TWRP img via goo.im and download a ROM you want and use adb sideload to install it.
So I screwed up and cleared my wiped my phone then when I went to flash CM 11 from Pacman I got a failure so I couldn't flash the ROM and it cleared out my Pacman as well so I didn't have any ROMs on my phone and no ROM installed so it would just boot to recovery (i use TWRP). When i tried to put a ROM on to my phone through my computer I got an error and when I tried to use the ADB Sideloader but it just got stuck saying"waiting for device." So I went ahead and re-locked my boot loader and tried to restore the phone with the stock RUU but it just fails every time and I have let it run for an entire day before. So at this point I have an AT&T HTC One that boots to a boot loader then says tampered, re-locked and security warning on the top i can use fast boot (but not sure what to do with it) no ROM to boot to, and cant get to TWRP (unless I unlock boot loader again). Any recommendations would be very helpful.

Unlock it again, run the ruu exe.
Only reason to go through the relock **** is to warranty it.

I use a usb OTG in TWRP almost everyday
and if sideload is failing it's likely because you don't have the drivers installed properly
and so you know the unlock is what wiped the phone not TWRP (unless you choose advanced and selected to wipe the sdcard which no one does)
get you drivers working
to test from recovery on the phone and command on the PC do adb devices and make sure you device is listed.
then in twrp you choose advanced/adb sideload
Connect phone to PC
Open command line where you have the file of ROM assuming you have ADB in Path of system, if you have not just copy the ROM to same place you have ADB files.
Type:
adb devices
(verify you phone are detect)
adb sideload name_of_the_rom_file.zip
(Wait the file is transfered to phone and recovery flash)
