Hi,
at the moment my phone is running on 5.9.026S Small EUI by Aurel. I really would like to update to the latest rom, but unfortunately the file transfer between phone and computer via cable doesn't work.
The computer and the phone always show me an error while trying to copy files. Sometimes the computer even freezes while transfer. Does anybody had the same issue? I really would like to save my pictures before doing a clean install.
Thank you in advance!
Heyyo, hmm what does device manager look like? Is the Le Max 2 configured as a USB MTP device? Might have the wrong driver setup.
Right click it > update driver > let me choose > (Standard MTP Device) > USB MTP Device > apply.
Otherwise? Please follow this guide to temporarily boot to TWRP where MTP file transfer works fine. Worst case Ontario? You may need to configure MTP driver as mentioned above.

Thank you mate! After unplugging all usb devices it suddenly worked fine. Maybe a driver problem.

I have an Samsung GS2 and i'm happy, but i have a problem with Win 7 Ultimate X64:
After 2.3.4 update, when i try to copy something from/to Phone/Card, My computer stop responding and it shows the error: "A device attached to the system is not functioning " and the mobile is showing on display "synchronizing". I have reinstalled the Windows but the problem persists.
I tested on a Windows XP x86 and it works grate.
What can i do to fix this problem?
anyone know this problem?
Looks like a drivers problem to me, if you didnt already, try to reinstall latest version of Kies (but dont forget to kill the kies process before using Odin if you plan to use it)

I tryed to reinstall Kies and drivers but with no succes.
I have this problem too and i resolve it by turn the plane mode on, don't know why but now all is ok ..
Try this.
1. Go to settings --> wireless and network --> usb --> usb mass storage
2. connect the usb cable
3. turn the usb mass storage (the android icon changes to orange now)
Go to my computer and you will now see phone and sd card storage as seperate....you should be able to copy fine now.

Hello!
I know this topic is old but I had the same problem with my Galaxy Note this morning and the solution was to disable USB Debugging.
Just to at least mark this topic as solved.
Cheers,
Arkymedes

I had this problem with my Galaxy Note 4. I was using the original USB cable which was supplied with the phone. The error was showing up at random stages of the file transfer process - sometimes near completion, sometimes after a second or so; which indicates to me that it may be a hardware problem. So, I then tried using a different USB cable (cheapie from eBay), and it works fine! No brainer fix :silly::silly:
Same issue here - bad cable again in my case. Got a decent quality one and it works fine.
This worked on my Note 4 - Simple Settings -> Developer opions -> Check USB Debugging
I just install update-cm-9-20120422-NIGHTLY-tenderloin-signed
after that, TP can not connect to PC thought USB cable, got error message (driver can not install)
where can I download TP driver ?
Thanks
Did you go into settings/storage/tap 3 mini squares on top/USB connections and then check Media device MTP.
I have 042212 installed and connect just fine.

goto setting --> storage --> (on top right corner, select USB computer connection) --> select Media device (MTP)
I have the same problem as well..
I already turn on the MTP but still doesnt work.
Maybe is a driver problem?? Can anyone give me some help??
Have you tried uninstalling the Palm Drivers from your Control Panel => Add/Remove Programs (XP) or Programs and Features (Win 7) ?
You wanna remove anything that says PALM or novacom from those lists, then reinstall them. Personally, I use the WebOS QuickInstall to get the drivers installed properly, but that's just me.
Hello , well im sorry to bother you guys but i just cant seem to connect through ADB using any Cyanogenmod rom but adb seems to work on stock roms. Ive tried everything reinstalling drivers and using different cables but nothing seems to work , could anyone help me out?
Try this and see what the outcome is good luck
All credit goes to oc3rulz for finding this.

Now again I am using Windows 7 so the steps are almost exactly the same. I literally just changed the device to a USB Mass Storage device and it worked!
Lol after trying so many drivers and it being the generic driver makes me angry. Here's what I did.
1. Right click on My Computer, go to Properties.
2. Go to Device Manager
3. Find your My HTC (should be the second one Android USB Device), right click on it and select Update Driver Software
4. Then select Browse My Computer for Software
5. Then choose Let Me Pick which driver to install on the bottom.
6. Then choose USB Mass Storage Device
Then it takes some time to think and viola! All working! However we are not DONE!
EDIT: So the next step I did after experienced issues remounting after unplugging the phone. I have change the MTP to ADB Testing Interface and things seem to be mounting everytime. Rebooted phone and PC, both worked again so I think this may be a working solution.
Now go to MTP.
1. Right click on My Computer, go to Properties.
2. Go to Device Manager
3. Find your MTP (should be under Unknown Devices), right click on it and select Update Driver Software
4. Then select Browse My Computer for Software
5. Then choose Let Me Pick which driver to install on the bottom.
6. Then choose Google Inc. and the Driver is ADB Testing Interface.
ENJOY!
My phone is not recognized by either my home or work pcs. I've googled and did the basics - enabled usb debugging, preferences set to file transfer. I've never had this problem with a phone before.
It will connect to a usb stick via adaptor so I can transfer files with a multi-step process. This is a pain.

That's strange, either your port is damaged or you don't have drivers installed. I've heard if this happening on Windows 11, never had a problem on Linux

Do you have the latest USB drivers installed?
Get the Google USB Driver | Android Studio | Android Developers
The Google USB Driver is required to perform adb debugging on Windows with Google devices.
developer.android.com
The drivers are installed. My home pc is what I used to unlock/root the phone.
When I look at Show Hidden Icons -> Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media, there is an option to remove Pixel 6. Yet it doesn't display under File Explorer or XYplorer.
If I start up my Arch (linux) vm with VMware Workstation Pro under Removeable Devices there is an entry for Google Pixel 6 with the option to Connect (Disconnect from Host). The contents can be under Arch.
Have you tried different cables & different ports? Sometimes the cable is the problem for me.
Different cables/ports had no effect.
I've got the same issue, what's weird is I can move files with ADB but can't in Windows.
If you figure anything out please hit this back up?
First make sure you have a good usb cable.
Some cables are only made for charging.
Second install the USB drivers from Google.
If you can transfer files, but can not use ADB/Fastboot, then it is a driver issue.

Cables/drivers are good. ADB/fastboot work fine it's the transferring of file/recognision of device in windows explorer that is the issue.

Switching from charging mode to file transfer mode in the Connected devices/USB menu should give you access to Android's internal storage from Windows. USB debugging or other Dev options aren't necessary.
I had this same problem. Connecting to pc would show connection options but they were all greyed out and the phone would only charge. I couldn't find any option in the standard settings to change this.
Eventually I found 'default usb configuration' in dev options. Default was set to 'charge only'. You can sort it from there.
edit to add: although re-reading op you may have tried this already.
I solved mine by setting to PTP mode then the PC started to recognize the phone connected

It's the stupid Windows drivers. There is an .inf file you need to either edit or delete but I forgot which. Might be wpdmtp.inf in the windows directory, right click and install. You might have to uninstall the driver in device manager first, the one with the exclamation mark if it's there. Sorry it's been about 3 or 4 years since I have done this but it's most likely a driver issue.

I'm checking this on my work pc. It gives me access to DCIM and Pictures folders only. Which give me something to work with at least.

I agree about drivers, that they're either corrupted or incomplete. What's going on in Windows Device Manager when the phone is in a certain state?
During normal operation I assume the general purpose driver is always visible.
Device Manager > Portable Devices > Pixel 6
In fastboot mode with USB debugging enabled, is this driver showing up?
Device Manager > Android Device > Android Bootloader Interface
While Android is running with USB debugging enabled, do you see an ADB driver (the daemon may need to be started)?
Device Manager > Android Device > Android Composite ADB Interface

LoL What?? No
Make sure that your Android phone is set to "Media device (MTP)" mode when connected to the computer. To do this, connect your phone to the computer via USB, then swipe down on your phone's notification panel and tap on the "USB" notification. From there, select "File transfer" or "Media device (MTP)".
Also, enable USB Debugging on Your Android Phone.
Go to Control Panel then Device manager then Portable Device wher you will find your device with exclamation ( ! ) mark. Right Click on it, update driver --- Browse my computer for driver -- Let me pick from a list --- select MTP USB Device -- Next
Probably you will be now able .....
