Did u go in the file manager to delete it?
BTW, how much ram did ur phone had already?
If it is more than or near to 1 GB, u are wasting your time.
Virtual memories are slower than physical ones.
Ur phone will become laggy than ever before.
Don't use the ram expander.
what can i do to get more free ram
and reduce lags.?

John, as I read you say that you have 4 GB junk files on your SD card ?
Try to format your SD card on pc and restore default size.
You can use some SD card reader and format your SD Card if you are unable to format your SD card in phone .
Use sd maid pro or root cleaner.
DOES THIS THING WITH VIRTUAL RAM WORK OR NOPE?
because my phone is using 1gb at least and i have 500 free ram
and i get lags etc
Problem
I have the same problem which was posted on hashtag 3 please help me thank you

Although we can move apps to sd with rooted device but it still comsumes some memory form mobile. Is it not possible to move apps to sd without any consumstion of internal memory?

I dont think so...
Partition your SD and use link2SD if you're on stock rom or a2SD / s2e if you're on custom rom. Still, all apps use a small amount of internal storage. Also check if your cache isn't too big, I've recovered up to 40 MB by clearing cache every few months.
You can use "S2E" from market and tick all option including the data one but you will get a decrease in performace. For data you must enter in definitions and tick advanced for accessing it.
I am using Miracale v4 by itasoulas and using link2sd to move apps to sd but if i download heavy size app or games it takes much more internal memory so, i'm running out of internal memory.
If i do partition of my sd card to install app separately will it also consume internal phone memory?

I have made partition of sd yet. Im thinking of making it if I get any solution.
I used Link2SD and now have over 100mb free internal space. I partitioned the sd card to ext3, 1024mb.... works like a charm, no performance issues.. widgets are recognized as well.

get titanium backup and use the "Convert to system app" option...this moves the app to free ROM memory...this should give you at least 25-45 MB user memory

i choose manual to move app to sdcard from settings(no use any app for this),20 hd games+17 casual games + 35 apps i still have 70mb free memory, maybe s2e gives more free space but it isn't stable, sometimes when i unplug my battery because of lags, then my apps are gone,link2sd is rubbish, they just give me 40 mb space and unstable like s2e.
sorry for my english

Absolutely true, the only thing good is that it still keeps the app fast (+ widgets) and no hassle on connecting USB
Useful for just those 4-5 apps one wants
Even in link2sd no hassle in USB class 10 sdcard so its super fast :-D

You need a rooted Ace for this? And custom ROM?
Guys,
Sorry to ask a noob question:
I know how to partition the SD card to EXT, but does these apps mentioned, Link2SD etc, working with stock rom? And uprooted phone?
Thanks.
Yes.
But you need follow the tutorials that are posted in the forum (hit search).
In stock roms u need (i guess) another kernel that support inid.d scripts.
The only reason i love cyanogen is because of s2e, after move dalvin on ed-ext i have 160 mb and with all my apps (20-+) i have 140mb.
I don't know if on stock u can do what s2e does but there are another tricks. (Link2sd) for exemple.
Hi,

S3 is designed to treat the memory as one unit, when internal is full it will start to use external.

Are you sure? The last time my internal SD card was full and the phone was not installing the apps stating that the device is low on the memory. If it is designed to be able to use internal first and external afterwards then why it did not use it in may case. Is there any setting or anything to turn on this feature?
It's how the nexus works and how the s3 works.

Root and use DirectoryBind.
It's more technical, but it gets most of the job done, especially those huge games from Gameloft.
So before I try another method and possibly break something else does anyone know if Directory Bind actually works?
You have 16 of storage on the phone itself. Why would you need to move apps to the SD card anymore? I could see back in the days when you only had 1GB or less, but now there really is no need for it.

OK so you dont play many games on your phone & the internal memory is obviously enough for you But thats not the case for everyone!

Free up some space (move a Gameloft game folder from /sdcard/Android/data/ to /mnt/extSdCard/Android/data), install Directory Bind, then use it to bind both folders.

Can't believe you asked this man...
If you're rooted, run the following on Terminal Emulator
(you may want to reate a GScript link and e.g. an autostart entry so that it's easier to use)
Preparation:
* Terminate the app
* Copy/move the folder you want to transfer from the internal to the external SD
* Create a new folder on the internal SD with exactly the same name
Execution (run in Terminal Emulator / GScript)
Code:
mount -o bind /mnt/extSdCard/YOURFOLDER /mnt/sdcard/YOURFOLDER
Note: This does not survive reboots, you'll need to execute or automatically execute the 'Execution' part on each boot.
This setup can be repeated endlessly for all folders you want.

Hey everyone,
Very recently, my rooted P769 on Jellybean (20f) isn't letting me install any applications because there is no free space. But that isn't true - I have 560 MB free on my internal SD! At first I was down to about 150 MB free, but I couldn't install any applications then, so I deleted some applications and cleared some data so now I have about 560 MB free, but I still can't install one small 5 MB application! I haven't done any app2sd (I only have 2 GB free on my external SD so there would be no point anyways). I also have CWM recovery 6 by artas but I haven't installed anything with it recently. Any help? Maybe there is a way to modify build.prop to allocate more space for application data?
Any help would be really appreciated, because I can't install any application on my phone right now.

Try checking your clockworkmod/backup folder on your internal sd card. if you have one or two in there it will make a difference. Transfer those files to your SD card. Sounds like you need a new sd card as well. Get a 16gb one from Wal-Mart for like $15! Once you get your new SD Card then follow this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44683922#post44683922

I don't think you understand my problem. I have 560 MB of free space on my internal SD, but I can't install any applications because every time I try I get an error that I don't have enough space, regardless of the size of the application. I should be able to install a 5 MB application if I have more than 5 MB of free space. I have a 32 GB class 10 external SD card (and I have a couple CWM backups on it) but it's almost full so doing Link2SD isn't realistic, not to mention the many problems that Link2SD has been known to cause. If somebody has had this problem before, where they definitely have enough free space to install applications but their phone tells them they do not, I'd appreciate some assistance.

You could try uninstalling the last few apps you installed or fix permissions before you dump the rom

I hope that your 5mb application is not TitanBackup and you are not having LuckyAbcxyz in your phone! If you do, that's the source of your problem, and you can see if all the time and troubles you got worth the pirated stuffs...
If u are using remount SD to switch ur ext sd with ur internal SD then u need to make a folder called external_SD in ur sdcard0 folder after u use remountsd to switch storage.. if not, then I say u need to use remountsd and use jb settings to change ur storage.. if u want I can link u to the instructions post of remount SD
Sent from my LG-P769 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Download remountsd and OPEN it.. (must have root) click on the wrench settings icon and input these mounts to their respected places
JB Settings:
Interne SD - /storage/Sdcard0
External SD - /storage/Sdcard0/external_sd
Target external SD card - /storage/sdcard0
Reboot ur phone and when finished media scanning go to ur storage and see the changes. I've experienced if problem before and I had to not only hard reset the phone I also had to flash a cwm backup stock of my current Rom
IF remountsd doesn't work right away u need a fresh install of Rom THEN try remountsd. Remountsd is a Definite for switching storages

alright guys i brief it out...
1. i wanted to run NFS MW game in my phone, but it requires 2055 MB data to be stored and accessed via phone internal memory
2. so i root my phone to swap memory, so that my 8GB memory card can act as internal memory to serve the purpose..
3. swapping memories went successful but still game gave me same error that 2055MB needs to be downloaded but 0MB storage is available in your phone, clean some memory and try again.
4. then i created a 3.5GB partition out my 8gb card hoping it may work (also used an app Link2SD) but the problem still persist.
please suggest me how to proceed?

Bro, it seems you are running jellybean 4.1.2 on your phone. That's why it still uses your internal memory as your default memory. Rather than doimd all the tedious work of swapping memory and partitioning, it would be much better if you just upgrade your phone to stock Jellybean 4.2.1 which is the official version released by micromax. The tutorials are extensively present both in xda and YouTube. By doing so, Jellybean 4.2 by default takes your ext.SD card as your your default memory( there's an option under Settings > Storage to click on your preferred default memory. Just click ext.SD card and your job will be done! You can download any heavy games like NFS MW or FIFA or anything. You won't have any memory issues again!
Hope this helped you. Don't forget to hit the thanks button

Hi there,
I was wondering if somebody could answer, why the App Storage for the Desire X is limited to 2.9 GB. Apparently some apps can no lobger be Moved and I currently seem to have only 18 MB free. An installation of an update of Facebook (19 MB) or Chrome (36 MB) often fail unless I have cleared all the cahces.
Can somebody tell me how to increase this space? I have used cache Cleaner to Move all apps to sd card that were possible to move.
Maybe sb. has some ideas.
Thanks
Andy
You can install a micro SD card and move a few apps to SD if possible. If that's not enough, root your phone, partition your sd card so it has an ext4 partition and install Link2SD from Google Play. Then, you can move any apps to your sd card.

How can i install a micro SD card???:good:
i can insert one though
I think I moved all the Apps I can and I don't think rooting will do the trick.
Under AppStorage in Settings I used up 2.73 GB / 2.90 GB
Apps 0.91 GB
Other 1.81 GB
I am stumbling over the Other category.
I recently found out that my camera actually saved to phone memory and not to my sd card. I changed it now and actually moved the files.
But why is other so high here? If Apps only take up 0.91 GB that would be fine.
Did your clear the apps caches? Maybe it helps.
