Hello everyone.
I have had this problem for a long time:
I have LineageOS 14.1 on my Redmi Note 4X(Snapdragon version) because I like Android Stock and everything works perfectly. But when I use the data network WhatsApp notifications, when a short time passes, they only arrive when I enter the app. This only happens with data network, with WiFi works perfectly.
I have tried:
Change from 4G to 3G or 2G.
Change the notification tone. (Some people say that this is solved)
Another SIM card (from another operator).
Select WhatsApp notifications as priority.
Use Slot 2 instead of 1.
Disable the optimization of energy.
Change profile to high performance mode.
Change to the latest firmware.
Change kernel.
Reinstall the ROM.

1. Disable Mobile data, then wait for 3-5 minutes
2. Enter Service mode, then change network to WCDMA only, repeat it like 2 times.
Done.
Correctly good luck...

my problem is described here -Can others be so kind as to verify if they are also having an issue with receiving voice calls or SMS while their phones are using the 2G network for data access. (3G and wifi either unavailable or turned off.)
We have this issue with Orange and I have tested it on one Sunrise iphone4 and we had the same issue. Which is not surprising since Orange and Sunrise are operated by the same staff. It does work correctly over Swisscom.
I raised this case with Orange over one month ago and they still have given me no concrete feedback as to why their network behaves like this.
(FYI this is a network issue and not related to any phone configuration).
Feel free to harass Orange about this. It might get them to pull their fingers out a bit. When I raised the case it took me about 10 calls to their support plus 2 visits to Orange shops to finally get a technician who was capable of understanding this simple but critical issue.
EXACT STEPS LEADING TO PROBLEM:
1. Force phone to use GSM (2G) mode only or be in an area with no 3G coverage, or if your phone chooses to use the 2G network
2. Disable switching to wifi:
3. Connect to 2G packet data, download email or download webpages: Status Bar-> spinning wheel
4. While packet data is connecting, using another phone place a call to your phone
5. After packet data has connected, using another phone place a call to your Phone
EXPECTED OUTCOME:
You expect the packet data connection to either DROP or be SUSPENDED (depending
on network capabilities) and for the phone to ring indicating an incoming call or SMS.
ACTUAL OUTCOME:
The packet data connection persists and remains active; the phone does not ring
and the call is handled by the network as if the phone was unreachable (for most
users this means forwarding to voicemail).
REPRODUCIBILITY:
always; no exceptions.
This has been tested extensively on the Orange network by me and many other users.
Tested devices which all show the same issue, iPhone4, iPhone3GS, Iphone 3G, several Android models.
Hello everybody
I've checked forum to find a solution for my problem, but whitout succes.
Now I using LENOVO S750 Dual SIM, with standard Android 4.2.1.
SIM1(3G) - just data for the internet, skype, VoIP, etc.
SIM2(2G) - just voice calls and text.
My problem is like that:
When I'm using my phone for internet (skype, YT, data exchange) nobody can call to me on second SIM2 card number (it says out of range or phone switch off) even I have full range on both signal indicator's (3G not important but 2G is 100% range).
When I turn off the data on the SIM1 or turn on WiFI to use internet on the phone everything is OK (voice phone number on SIM2 works perfectly)
I try to change lot of settings but the problem still exist, It looks like I don't have active SIM2 card while SIM1 makes data exchange.
When I make normal phone call by SIM2, data exchange on SIM1 is switching off.
Before I do not remember that kind of problem on my phone.
Please anyone knows a solution for this??
And sorry for my english
UPDATE:
- when I turn off automatic data synchronization( settings, data use, auto sync.) everything works perfectlty, but the Gmail and any other online apps, need hand made sync, so it's just a partial soultion, any suggest??
Why data on SIM1 turn's off the SIM2 voice service??
Nobody helps??
Background:
LeEco LePro3 (LEX727) bought a year ago and in service since that time.
Not rooted. (Nor do I wish to root, if that was even possible.)
Use Nova Launcher for better desktop experience
StraightTalk on AT&T network. Indoors, usually shows LTE with 2 bars.
"Fully patched". LeEco EUI version 5.8.021S. (No LeEco Android updates available since 1/2017 as they pulled out of the USA market.)
Android 6.0.1.
Android security patch level January 1, 2017.
Handset worked fine for many months.
There was no obvious change or trauma to the handset (no drops, skills, weather exposure, etc.)
Lately, there have been data issues when WiFi is disabled.
(Everything still works with a WiFi connection.)
Not all features work with the StraightTalk/AT&T data connection when WiFi is disabled.
StraightTalk/AT&T data function details:
SIM card status
Signal strength -110 dBm 27 asu
Cellular network type LTE
Service status Voice: In service / Data: In service
Cellular network state Connected
Phone works (can make & receive calls).
Simple text messaging works (can send & receive texts)
MMC messaging works (can send & receive MMC texts)
(Ookla) Speedtest App works with good speeds.
Google Chrome browsing does not work "ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE"
Firefox browsing does not work "Secure Connection Failed The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading."
Gmail does not download messages, sent messages are stuck in Outbox ("Queued")
Google Maps does not work "Can't connect to Maps".
Google Play does not work. When searching for Apps, "No internet connection. Make sure Wi-Fi or cellular data is turned on, then try again."
Troubleshooting steps taken:
Adjust AT&T APN settings used as per StraightTalk Tech Support.
Change out StraightTalk/AT&T SIM card with StraightTalk Tech Support assistance.
Factory/Hard Reset with reinstallation of all accounts & Apps.
Anyone know how to fix my web data issue? (Or know what further tests/observations to make?)
Pocophone just arrived, one thing I absolutely need is call redirection services while I am roaming.
Usually I use GSM codes *21*[dest]# etc to set and on / off codes saved as contacts.
I test and my pre-existing redirect set on my old phone is working strange with this SIM inserted to the pocophone.. I cant cancel it on the pocophone either.. I use another phone to cancel it just fine but PocoPhone cant set it back up.
Looking in menus -> System apps -> call setting -> call waiting generates errors on all 4 options. Goes to reading settings and 'Call settings error Network or SIM card Error' note this works perfectly fine with a different phone on same network.
I am roaming currently, but other hardware operates just fine roaming and it is essential to me to be able to handle call forwarding.
Anyone else ??
Can anyone confirm if this is working on thier phone or network ??

My brother got the same behavior.
It worked fine as he set the forwarding.
Later he enabled VoLTE and ( after unlocking the Bootloader) VoWiFi.
We can't figure out which of these 2 actions leads to the behavior yet, but we are looking into it.
Did you enable VoLTE or VoWiFi too?

Mine is working now..
I set it up with a different phone but with the latest build I can pause and resume the set up forwarding..
Still have a few issues (call echo, some camera problems) which reduce it from perfect but its very liveable.
Forgot to add.. I had to change the vendor firmware to get the latest PE rom working so could have been that..
Hi , is there anyway to force 3g/4g only on this phone..? I've seemed to try every hidden menu code and nothing seems to work.
The reason I ask this is that I've downloaded a global firmware (171) for this phone and unfortunately my carrier no longer does 2G and when im getting poor 3g coverage it switches to 2g and lose service completely. This never happened on my old carrier firmware as it was setup not to switch to 2g.
I also think it's because I have a single SIM version and this new global firmware is setup for dual Sim.
Anyone got any solutions? Sounds like downgrading firmware isn't a option at the moment...
4G only on Huawei Mate 20 Pro works!

Hello,
yes, now we finally found a solution.
Do exactly as described:
1. Download Settings Database Editor from playstore and open it
2. Look for hw_networkmode_preference and edit the stock value "9,6,2,1" to "11"
3. Restart the device
4. Open Settings Database Editor
5. Click on + Add new setting at the top
6. Type "hw_add_4g_only" (without " ") and press save changes
7. Type in your country code, example "502" Malaysia or "262" Germany. Press save changes
8. Type "hw_add_4g_only" (without " ") and press save changes (YES, REPEAT STEP 6)
9. Type in your country code, example "502" Malaysia or "262" for Germany and press save changes (YES, REPEAT STEP 7)
10. Restart the device and VOILA!
Now you have access to ALL network modes. Select "LTE" or "4G" for 4G only functionality.
Like this, you have stable Internet nearly where ever you go, without dropping back to overcrowded 2G/3G Networks.
Best,
Stefan
i know this thread a month old but i tried this and 4g only option is there but it also removes all other options which for obv reasons is not good if in a non 4g area, is there a way to add the 4g/3g option .
ps: i found an old thread to add the 3g again but have to manually switch between the 2 options
Hey,
My device updated to the new firmware yesterday and I have lost the '3G Only' option. Is there a way to unlock this?
Apologies if this has been asked before but I can only seem to find the 4G solution. Thanks in advance
No texts
I can't send any text messages over any network mode, and to make or recieve calls I had to change modes.
