This is a new experimental script I decided to write this morning.
I've been investigating a bit till I decided to get my own hands on it: the LED of this device.
Now, I have packed it in a flashable zip for quick testing.
Installation and customization:
Reboot to recovery
Flash 'ledctl.zip'
Reboot
Open any file manager
Edit the file 'ledsettings.sh' at the root of the internal memory
Download:
Click or tap on the download tab at the top of the thread.
What's next?
Disable ambient display, lock your device and enjoy. If want, report hugs and give feedback.

I want to prove this that you are working exactly what is the function of this
my question is that I have to edit in the file ledsettings.sh because you mention that it must be edited with a file manager
I'm sorry I do not speak much English I usually use Google translator !!
Wow I can't believe you managed to do this! Will this eventually allow the LED to work with notifications?
---------- Post added at 04:43 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:28 PM ----------
I flashed it, but it doesn't work

Well, if I've understood properly, what you're asking is the reason for editing 'ledsettings.sh'.
So this is how it works:
You run 'ledctl.sh'.
It tells you to edit 'ledsettings.sh'.
You edit the file and tweak it at your likings.
Finally, you run 'ledctl.sh' again and leave it in the background (the flashable version does this by itself).
Changelog:
- Improve code.
- Solve weird behaviors.
- Correct performance issues.
- Fix the looping bug.
- Always use the last notification and not a horribly chosen one.

Introduction, How it works, etc.
This is a KnockCode feature addition for hellsCore kernel on our beloved Nexus 4.
I created this mod by modifying Stratoks's dt2wake in hellsCore kernel that you can input a pattern on the screen, which is separated in a grid of 4 rectangles (For further explanation search for LG KNOCKcode on Google). I record that pattern in Touchscreen driver, and then write it into a sysfs file.
In the second step, the hellsCode config Xposed module reads the code from that file, and compares it to the code saved in its preferences. If the code was correct, it finishes the Keyguard to unlock your device.
If the code is wrong, the screen still goes on, but this time shows the Keyguard. That means you can also use it as QuadrupleTap2Wake
At the moment, this mod heavily relies on Xposed, but I hope that I can integrate this mod directly into some custom roms, I will write a guide for rom creators later.
Since B80, my mod is merged into the official hellsCore kernel.

Installation instructions
* You need Xposed for this to work properly
* Install hellsCore kernel from here (since B80)
* Install hellsCodeConfig.apk, activate in Xposed installer, reboot.
* Set up your code in hellsCode Config app.
* You need to have doubletap2wake enabled in your favorite Kernel manager, and also enable the mod with
echo 1 > "/sys/devices/virtual/input/lge_touch/hells_code_enabled"
To disable temporarily, do echo 0 > "/sys/devices/virtual/input/lge_touch/hells_code_enabled", to remove permanently uninstall the hellsCode Config app.

FAQ
Why isn't there a version for CM?
-- There actually is one, just take a look at the official hellsCore kernel, which includes the mod since B80.
The device sometimes unlocks when woken up with the power button, why does this happen?
-- That was a bug, fixed with config 1.1

is it echo 1 > "/sys/devices/virtual/input/lge_touch/hells_code_enabled"
or
echo 1 > /sys/devices/virtual/input/lge_touch/hells_code_enabled ???

Whatever. With "" it has nicer formatting, and is most times better when you have spaces in folder names.

Really thanks! I really like knock code. This mod works great, but with three problems :
1. Lock screen is shown for a milisec, then unlocks. Not really a big problem.
2. After unlocking, status bar is sometimes pulled down.
3. Power button is useless now. Every time I use power button, it bypasses lockscreen. Every time.
I hope this mod advances with updates! Thanks!

1. I still have to research which hooks suit better.
2. Really? That's strange, and has nothing to do with the mod..
3. That's a bug, read OP
Btw, if you touch screen once, and then press power button, it doesn't unlock. Will fix later today IF I have the time.
I unfortunately ignored school a bit the last few days, and have to catch up :/

For me is working quite fine, only problem i face is that the mod is not respecting unlocking sequence configured on hellscode config, if you tap on anywere 4 times phone unlocks.

About the statusbar, I think it is related with my rom's feature(quick pulldown). Do you use stock rom?

Nice work. I was waiting for this for a long time. I'll try the mod as soon as power button bug will be fixed.
Is there any chance you fix the micro lag that makes lockscreen shows for a millisecond?
Thanks

I just can't wait for Google to upload an official Nougat image for our beloved Shamu, so I compiled this from the source.
V4 Flashable ZIP: https://mega.nz/#!qkpBHQwY!9fWIu36NCDtP4NXnTnWE_FblWlk9vrwNtDE13eJbocA
Obligatory screenshots: https://imgur.com/a/cXrnH
Working
As Shamu is a supported device, most things work well here:
Booting
Cellular (Calling, SMS and data)
Audio
Wi-Fi
Bluetooth
GApps (see below)
Easter egg
Not working (?)
Not working on Verizon, as reported here
There are probably more
GApps
This build has dm-verity enabled. With the stock kernel, GApps will not show up, or a warning is displayed when booting. To solve this, either use a custom kernel or use FED-Patcher.
After installing OpenGApps, you may encounter force closes during the Setup Wizard.
replica102 said:
You can just skip setup without editing the build.prop. Just tap on the four corners of the screen, starting from top left, clockwise. Do it right, and you'll get sent to home screen.

Afterwards, to get rid of the Play Services force closes, go to Settings > Apps > Three dot menu > Show system and find Google Play Services. Enter the Permissions menu and grant all the permission it needs.
If apps requiring WebView force close, try excluding "WebviewGoogle" using the gapps-config config file. Details are available here.

Just curious why you're calling it "useless"?
Have you tested it at all, and if so, what works and what doesn't work?
Iirc, at the very minimum, you need to symlink vendor to system to get cellular connectivity working.

Thank you. Cellular connectivity is working, and the vendor blobs are present in the build. The exclamation mark on the screenshots are due to Google servers being blocked in China (which you can fix by changing the captive_portal_server global setting, in case if you are in the affected regions).
The reason I call it "useless" is that Google will likely get the official images out very soon, and this build will quickly become obsolete.
I will update the original post to include the test results.
Noob Question:
Where can I get the GApps file for this build?

Dirty flash will work, I've tested it that way, nonetheless, for better results a full wipe is advised

If it's stock based, it should work. I didn't get it to work in RAW mode using footej camera, I got it to work using manual camera app. Also is there a way you can incorporate the dirty cow vulnerability fix in this build?

This is a debloating script lol. You can find the "source code" in the updater-script.
Thanks for this, I've reached my daily thanks limit,
Waiting for your DEODEX MM ROM.
MM version is coming today or tommorow. It's not deodexed but debloated. Deodexing is used to edit an app more in-depth. Please test the script and report if it works for you.

I don't know about that nest alternative, but you can check the free ram in Settings > Developer options > Running processes on MM.

Remove everything which has "SmartManager" and you'll be fine. If I remember properly there is SMCore too which is for SmartManager.
maybe i should do a separate uninstaller for smartmanager, and also version 1.2 with even more bloat removed. but now im amazed from areskernel so i cant really work on 5.1.1 XD

I know , i seen. Simply want to try new rom.
Home page rotation
Where do I find the setting to allow landscape orientation of the home page? My slim case/stand doesn't rotate.
edit: Nova launcher installed OK and that solved the problem. I'll be glad to see when the ROM, or the 8.1, reaches RC status. Thanks for the work.
Rom seems fluid, but theres this red frame when an animation is happening? also Developer options Force Close
Hi just downloading it now and noticed on android file host that it says it is for a tab a 9.7. Is that just a typo or are they interchangeable?

Rom is build in eng mode for debugging.
Flash supersu and edit build.prop.
Change build type from eng to userdebug.
Reboot.

Yes i put Official because it is NexusOS is my rom and so i can make it offcial at any status also nope no bluetooth currently if i would know how to fix it it would be working
Without trying to presure you in any way, any progress on this rom? Looking forward to install as soons as the bluetooth issue has been resolved
I found how to make bluetooth works
You just need to install build.prop edit
Now you create news propertys called
" qcom.bluetooth.soc " value " smd "
" ro.bluetooth.ver " value " 1.6"
And of course reboot your device
