Cardinal is stable if you don't mind the not round icons. By far it's the most stable for me.

+1 for NOS oreo
The only thing in 8.1 ROMs that annoys me is the inconsistent swipe gesture issue. Lock screen swipe issue has been fixed in latest NOS, but it's still there during incoming calls.
In my experience, Cardinal 5.2 is the perfect 8.1 Oreo rom for now. All the Oreo Roms have Lock screen Swipe bug and some other stuff. Where Cardinal excels is the Network and Data use. For some reason, I get full speeds and best network coverage on 2G, 3G & 4G in this Rom.
For example, in NOS & McAOSP, I get roughly 2-3 Mbps or upto 7-8 Mbps at max on 4G LTE, while in Cardinal, with same network and in same place, I get around 30-50 Mbps, I thought it was one time fluke, but I re installed the rom, all clean flash BTW.
McAOSP has the advantage of fixed Bluetooth capabilities, i.e. I am able to route Whatsapp and Messenger Video & Audio calls to my Bluetooth Earphones/Headset, which is not happening in NOS and Cardinal.
So, its really a matter of usage you have. All Oreo roms are stable enough for now.
same issue!

Yes.. +1 for NOS 8.1 . But some bugs are there still. Answering call doesn't take place instantly. Its takes a two-three tries to accept the call.
Anything new?

Guys, I bought this device recently, the x829 version of 64 GB and 4 of ram, and I would like to know which rom is more stable now? Mokee, RR, CM? Fingerprint and IR are working normally? Camera?
Anyone who can share the experience would help a lot.
Sorry for bad English

For Android 6.X it is better to stick with Cuoco92 ROM as it supports OTA weekly and everything is stock and just debloated. Install Nova Launcher and you are good to go.
For Android 7.X now that the camera is working I am looking for the people that have already updated to 7.X for daily use to tell us our experiences and bugs and see if it is worth it or better to wait.
I am using mokee with Android 6
Everything works for me ?
I'll wait few days to get some nougat release for daily use

More battery life with this rom?
All have problems except those based on stock and just debloated. Best are china s21 or s23.
Other ROMs have many unpleasant surprises, are always broken somewhere and you never know it until you need a specific feature and then realize you can't use it.

Heyyo, just a heads up with my x829 I found that the fingerprint reader didn't work properly until I flashed a different modem firmware. It seems it also handles some other parts of the device. I flashed the latest Chinese s23 firmware and she is golden now

Sorry but i don't see any problem or anything broken in AOKP, Unofficial LOS and Mokee all MM and all by andr68rus.
Only the Nougat versions have issues. BTW stock rom has various issues and problems, one of them being SOT, battery life, not supporting QC3 and i'm not even mentioning performance...
Please tell me which problems do you find on the custom roms stated above...?
My stock x829 supports QC 3.0 even metered it to make sure.

I don't think so, email notifications don't work on my phone with this ROM.
Most stable rom is unofficial lineage os 13 by andr68rus

I'm using the last Indian stock and don't see any problem.
Several days on DU rom Nougat 7.1.2. I'll be staying with this for a while. I've not found any bugs, at least those that effect my use, and can be fully themed. By now I usually find a good excuse to flash something else, but andr68rus' DU is a true beauty IMO.
hi Guys,
I have a new X829 and I'm looking to flash the best ROM from a stability and battery perspective.
I've been a fan of CM in the past so would have a bias towards Lineage and prefer stable versions which have OTA support rather than nightly's or beta versions etc.
Is there any reason not to just go with the official 7.1.1 Lineage ROM? http://www.lineageosrom.com/2017/03/Download-LineageOS-LeEco-Le-Max-2.html
Looking for a stable Oreo rom, that can be used as a daily driver! Stability is the most important, but ROMS with some customization will also be appreciated. Thanks!

Nitrogen OS O is equally stable and developer is muy activo in the development of the Rom.
Go with Nitrogen. You won't regret it.

FYI, there is no goodix support in Oreo yet, so if you have a goodix fingerprint reader, you will lose the ability to use it with Oreo at this time.

Does those ROMs based on OREO have a feature to set different ringtones per each SIM card?

That's a very critical piece information, thank you. It seems like I have to stick to Nougat for a while longer!:crying:
Nitrogen oreo is far from stable. It's a nice project but I tried it yesterday and I have so many bugs that I had to change rom. Black screen, a notification stuck on screen and I couldn't finish the Google setup. I think in the next month will be awesome but now I think it's better stick with nougat

Odd, I have been running it for a week now as my daily and I haven't had any issues that would have me going back to Nougat.
I did have to do a complete wipe of the internal storage in order to get it installed properly. With just the standard TWRP wipe, I was getting constant google account issues using OpenGAPPS.

I did a complete wipe including internal storage. Then installed just the rom and gapps and superus 2.82. removed sim card to complete the setup.

Definitely not maybe in a few months, we can have stable oreo. I had sim disconnections also some of the calls were not connected & random reboots so reverted back to Resurrection remix.
Note: I know oreo is in beta & reported some bugs I encountered but trust me the thread is toxic af, I'm never gonna recommend one to use Nitrogen

Some weird bug. Only needed to do that for the setup
For stability go with Lineage, not perceivably slower than nitrogen and **** not blowing up your face. Nitrogen ****ed me 5 times : sometimes it just randomly reboots, then bootloops and adb says "dalvik cache corrupted" and you have to fcking wipe everything to make it work again.

Try the pixel experience rom. It's really good. I'm currently using it
Any Nougat ROM. Xiaomi officially released Nougat sources for mido a few days ago, so expect even more stability as Nougat ROMs continue to update. I favour LOS myself, but I'm sure there are better ones out there (probably).

You can try RR rom official version which is nougat
MoKee has been working perfectly for me on my Mi4 and now on RN4. It's very similar to LOS, but has built-in root and the ability fingerprint-secure an app. There's also an OTA updater and the whole thing is rock solid.

U can try omni rom .
it has delta updates
updates regularly on weekly basis
u can track the daily changelogs with the help of their pre loaded app
close to aosp with just the required features implemented
u dont have to worry about updating or flashing, everything is done by the updater app
Hope this is enough for you .

For me lineage 14.1 official is the best for stability speed and battery with franco kernel
AEX is good rom
MIUI based Rom, Multi Pro global stable Rom. The best in stability, battery and performance.

Jio works on Omni .
But I don't use Jio xD
AOSP Extended (N) is good.
I haven't been active on XDA for 2 months so don't know which custom rom is most stable of all?
Any suggestions? Preferably Pie.
My concern is Performance in Games. I don't care much about camera or battery backup.
VOLTE is a must. I know IR face unlocking won't work since not in the AOSP sources
Edit: Hotspot should also work.
I saw some comments on LOS 16 and seems like hotspot wasn't working. So I am adding this.
Thanks in Advance
Ok so since no one replied..... I tried LOS PE Carbon NOS Arrow AEX
SO far NOS seems to work the best along side LOS but has more customization so If anyone wants to try they should try NOS.

Thanks. I've too have been outside the scene for a long time. I've used NOS on my previous devices and it's good with very minor bugs. I'll give it a try after the stable MIUI 10 rolls out. And when I figured out why nandroid backups aren't working out for me. Peace

I don't know why but my previous MIUI 9 backup didn't work. The phone wouldn't boot.
Untill now there's lot of development for our mojito/sunny but im looking for something that can be suggested easily a daily drivable. Ps: I dont change rom i just flash once and stay with that, so having the ota update functionality will also help.

If you want a recomendation... PixelOS , Pixel Experience and crDroid are the most stable (in my humble opinion)

I have tested almost all of them. The most stable is cDroid.
With most of the others, the video recording did not work properly.
What they all can't do, and what I sorely miss, is notification of missed calls or messages.

Hi,
I currently have "Xiami.eu rom 13.05 global" installed.
But...
- there is still the bug with AA (after a call no more audio via car speakers)
- sometimes it´s very laggy (e.g. using the app "komoot")
At the other hand, the stock camera is working very well und takes really good photos.
My favourites custom roms are Pixel OS and Crdroid8, but I think the cameras aren't nearly as good or fully working,
I think, first i ´ll try Pixel OS
