[pace] features from 2nd gen on the 1st gen - Amazfit

Hi Amazfit lovers
1.Are the any news that the additional features (f.ex. remote control of airpurifier, or additional sport modes) from the AF pace 2 will be introduced on 1gen?
2.Maybe a port from the original 2nd Gen could work on the 1st?
3.Are the any differences from electronic perspective (ram, storage, processor) between the versions? (I'm not talking about the elegant version without GPS)
Regards

1. Those things are already in the cn ( or pacified ) version, not in the US version.
2. As most of the things are the same, it could be possible
3. There is no elegant version without GPS.

When I read the thread about the ROM PACEficator the I see the US is available to install. Why do you think it's not possible?

I think you don't understand what you are talking about.
1. The Amazfit PACE is the US version of the Amazfit.
2. The original US firmware ( 1.3.5F that comes for the Pace) does not come with smarthome, or any newer stuff.
3. The Pacified Rom is a Chinese Dev ROM that has translations for other languages.
So no, there is still no original US ROM with smarthome connectivity.
But as it is possible to get the far more advanced CN ROM onto the Pace, it would surprise me if there won't be a back port of the Stratos ROM.

You're 100% right.
I have the official 1.3.5. few things annoy me in the current SW and I see they are fixed in the PACEified ROM or the 2nd Gen Amazfit
With the xiaomi phone I have already figured out what to do, but the smart watch I'm learning.
Unfortunately there is no "full" (at least what I saw) tutorial explaining every aspect of the phone... Form basic stuff to unlocking bootloader and flashing of ROM. The knowledge is scattered and sometimes misleading or not up to date.

[Q] Can someone recommend a ROM that fits the following needs?

Hi,
So, I am buying a new tablet soon, and I will be giving my Nook Tablet (8GB) to my 7 yo nephew. I want to find a ROM that satisfies the following conditions:
1. Supports Japanese (not just a keyboard to type but as a system language)
2. Stable without any issues (he lives in Japan, and I live in U.S., so I won't be able to fix any issues for him, so I want to make sure it's a very stable ROM).
3. Doesn't have issues with Google Playstore (when I searched and read through some ROM's threads, I saw some of them having compatibility issues with apps)
4. (preferably) based on newer Android builds because nobody around him will know how to update it, so this ROM will be the last ROM this tablet will ever use till it dies.
If you can think of any ROMs that satisfy the above conditions, please let me know. I very much appreciate your help/input in advance.

To buy or not to buy? - Questions: RN3pro official MIUI, rooting and custom ROMs

Hi all!
I live in Germany and would like to buy a RN3 pro from Aliexpress. I don't want to stick around with MIUI but would like to try out different CM-based ROMs. The community here seems very alive, but I am confused by certain things. So I hope you can help me :highfive:
1) Some months ago, I followed the news about the Mi4c. People were complaining that Xiaomi won't let them unlock their phones. Are there no such problems with the RN3 pro?
2) Concerning the official firmware: I read that the phones come either with a Chinese or international firmware (or sometimes even bloated by retailers), and each has a hundred of version numbers. Are all versions possible to unlock? Or do I need a particular version to be able to root/unlock bootloader/flash a custom ROM?
3) Are there any differences between the 2/16 gig and the 3/32 gig version of the RN3pro apart from RAM/storage?
4) Is Xposed working fine on CM-based ROMs?
Best regards
1. I spent around a month to get it officially unlocked, till then I unlocked unofficially in few mins. But if you unofficially unlock whenever you flash a rom you must be more conscious and read every step that's given by Developer or else you will end up bricking your device(don't worry there are solutions for very bricking scenario) . So if this is not a concern you can buy
2. Whatever the firmware phone may come with you can flash MIUI global firmware and unlock it from there.
3. Nope not that I know of.
4. Yes it's working.
Welcome to the community.

1)as an unlock reason I pasted some chineese text found in the Internet and after 1 week I got my unlock code. So no problem there
2)Developer rom is recommended for that, but I think that the never versions of stable build also support unlocking. Anyway, it's easy to install developer rom with locked bootloader
3)nope
4)yep

1) If the phone is updated to the latest firmware (7.3.2 at the time of writting) then the bootloader unlocking process time will depend on how long it takes them to approve the permission for you (got my phone on Tuesday and unlocked it today).
2)Yes all are eligible, but you have to be on the latest one. Likely you will get with an outdated Chinese rom and will have to update via MIUI updater (or similar name of the official software). I also suggest looking for the phone from else where, like here in the EU (think ebay.ie had some cheap ones), since i had to pay an extra 50eur for taxes and expenses (am from Lithuania).
3) No idea, likely none. I got the 3gb version because it's more future proof and can upload 2 videos at the same time vie desktop version of facebook. Also the software itself uses about a gig of ram. Plus it's doesn't cost that much more and a gig of ram makes a difference.
4) No idea, wasn't a fan of xpossed before and am not planing to become one.

Flyme 7 based on Android 8 Oreo is coming

Flyme 7 Coming to Older Phones Like Meizu PRO 5.. to see click here :fingers-crossed:
It's good news, currently only 4.7% of mobile phones have Oreo.
The trouble is until Flyme gets stable
And if there are new drivers maybe someone (@faust93) is able to port it to Resurrection Remix 6, which is still in beta on most phones
You just have to wait and all the pieces are put together
They just released the Meizu 15 with Android 7.1.2. and Flyme OS 7, does not even come with Oreo.
I'm very disappointed!
Meizu is one year behind in the design and software of its mobile phones. They pass the fashions without offering anything.
I expected them to catch up, but nothing. He's going to win a bad name forever.
They will end up putting the sign closed for vacations, which we already know what it means.
Above, they do not pay Google for having Google Play well. The International Version is a fake, they aren't Certified
And they also have blocked the bootloader so you can not install any ROM (there are none in the Meizu Pro 6, Pro 7).
My next mobile will not be a Meizu is clear. In 2015, they competed with Xiaomi, I thought that they would get over them but they have chosen very bad strategies, such as making several versions (China, the International), moving away from Google, problems with apps, very similar designs for all their phones, prices that are too high compared to the competition , many software failures in Flyme, without Android updates ...
Luckily I have it with RR and Android 7.1.2 (in 3G and without finger print but this does not matter at all). And I'm happy with him !!
You do not need another Android if you have it well customized (Substratum, Exposed, Magisk Manager ..).
But it would be cool to have RR with Oreo..
Flyme 7 is out since 22.04.18 and IS NOT BASED on Oreo
It's again based on Nougat 7.0
I've tried 7.8.4.22 A, not soo bad, some little bugs with camera and other things but overall 's good
in 2022 i bet they are going to have oreo
or meizu will die
Meizu has disappointed me so much that I bought another mobile (not from Meizu). I have endured so much thanks to the Faust93 ROM but I could not do it anymore, it was a little on a whim, more than other things
Meizu was downgrading ever since 2015 and their strategy to focus on the Chinese market with dozens of new devices every year led to abandoning all their previous flagships and lack of focus on software updates. Obviously providing regular up-to-date upgrades does not bring in too much revenue compared to the new devices ranging from budget to flagships that bring in millions. This fact showed their real face - hunt for money rather than for creating an outstanding product and attracting even more customers. Pro 5 is my first Meizu phone and is definitely the last one. Even with running RR 7.1.2 and fully and smoothly functioning hardware, I do really lack fingerprint option and I don't like having any sacrifices on the device. which once used to be a flagship and still has pretty powerful insides to date. I like trying different roms and flashing firmware, but for the testing purposes, not because I am forced to in order to have more or less up-to-date Android version and properly working Google Services and Play Store. This is just ridiculous and disgusting.
Did someone tried flyme 7, this version 7.8.5.8?
hi everybody.
I'm surfing the internet.
https://www.getdroidtips.com/flyme-os-7-meizu-pro-5/
I came across this site.
I downloaded and installed the Meizu pro5 Flyme 7.0.2.0A from the https://www.flyme.cn/firmwarelist-23.html#3 link provided on the site. I got backup of my phone. I've installed wipe cache. And it works.
I wanted to share it with you.
Notes:
- I had a flyme 6.3 rom.
- I installed vipe cache from the first installation. sim network did not work. vipe cache cleaning and installed all functions worked.
-Flyme has added facial recognition and works very nicely.
- Press the power button. I installed the version uplink type. As described in the first link. (https://www.getdroidtips.com/flyme-os-7-meizu-pro-5/)
-I've been using it for two days. very nice. Flyme7 is the original system board and stable.
- Before loading, change the ro.product.locale = zh-CN line in the zip file (update.zip/system/build.prop) to -> ro.product.locale = en-US.
- Bad news - I use English. Problems can occur in other languages.
The pro5 really got android 8.0!?
Maybe I should (after switching to the global version a year ago) back to the chinese roms...
Are the google apps all working? Incl. contacts etc?
Thanks already for the update!
pro 5 now is with oreo??
i´m speechless lol
Unfortunately nope, Oreo was only a dream for us

U can use it as daily rom, it's almost near to perfection. But it's not new, it's 2018.08.10 so 3 months old.
:good:
Hi all,
Since it seems there are not updates coming for the global version of pro5 anymore I am considering to switch to the Chinese ROM.
Is it possible to install the latest Chinese version to a GLOBAL Pro5?
If it is a more complex process, do you have instructions a link that shows how to do it?
Thanks a lot!

i think you have to change the product label to chinese ( i tried without doing so and i failed miserably )
it's depend on what recovery you use to update, stock or TWRP. If with TWRP, you need to replace bootloader and recovery in zip to be unlocked bootloader and custom recovery.

1. Posting in the android themes section isn't going to get your question answered.
Post about this in your device section or android questions and answers.
2. Use Google.
There are NO CUSTOM ROMS for your device
There are no developers active, the device has no support and cannot update due to its bad firmware that doesn't allow the bootloader to be unlocked, so it cannot even run a custom ROM.....
3. Did you not check the android version before purchasing? Thats just stupid.
This device is from 2016........no one should be buying 2016 hardware or a device with an android version which is over 4 years old in 2018.
For less than half the price you paid for that cool pad you could have got a Nokia 2.1 or Nokia 1 both are running android 8.1 or can install a project treble android P GSI - both those devices are project treble compatible!
Here's some interesting information....
Your purchase cannot be justified from the device specs, the current budget Nokia range use android GO and have been proven to perform much better and faster with much less powerful CPUs and far less ram that a more expensive multi core CPU device with 2 to 6 GB ......
These devices perform 15% faster and only use a small portion of on device storage.
As for your cool pad, You are stuck on lollipop I'm afraid.
Look at the price comparison of the cool pad A8 and the Nokia 1 with android 8.1 Go.
If you want the "latest" android version you always need to buy a device that has it, not buy a far more expensive one that has an android version that will no longer be supported in the next few months.
FYI - Google are going to make android 6.0 marshmallow a minimum requirement to run their apps early next year, and then are going to make android 7.0 nougat a minimum requirement to run their apps by the fall of 2019.

Amazfit Nexo

It looks like a nice improvement over Amazfit Verge. The hardware platform seems to be quite powerful as well.
Maybe someone can help me with some questions:
Is it based on a modified version of Android?
Is it possible to install Android apps?
Any chance to have some custom ROMs like for the Verge?
Thank you very much
From what I heard and based on my experience with mine,
Yes, it runs Android 8.1 . Actually a mix of Wear and regular android.
I guess that in the future we could install modified ROMs , manual says that if you install a modified rom your guarantee may be voided. My guess is that they have seen that coming ...
About installing apps I can't even get to activate adb, but it's virtually possible.
My 2c.
PD: I archieved adb access installed play store and poco launcher . Also discovered that the EU version has NFC but disabled. Pics Attached!
Worst Huami smartwatch ever... Very bad battery life, adb disabled by default (it can be enabled from Huami Lab hidden menu but it reverts in every reboot), you can install some apps as the watch is ARM based but since it's very quite easy to enter into bootloop after installing something, I don't recommend playing with the watch.
There is an unofficial TWRP by a Chinese dude which is not public AFAIK, and this allows installing Magisk root, Magisk modules,...
Truth to be said, roms we have are version 1.0.0.0. I'd rate them as pre- alpha versions. Let's see how this device will do after few updates.
At this stage, what kind of apps is possibile to install? Are they permanent or will disappear at reboot?
I hope there will be a custom ROM in the next future to fully customize device behavior.
Nexo
Hi,
I bought Amazfit Nexo for my wife. White model. It is wvery light and comfortable in use instead the quite big diameter (concerning women )
I was able to set eSIM in Orange, Poland (Amazfit support says that it is impossible ). It works wery well. My wife is able to receive and make phone calls, receive SMS' (it is unable to send SMS).
Lead by some information found in the Internet I discovered the "Lab" section, but... There is no option to set anything in Android settings.
Is there any chance for different software?
I can do almost with smartphones, but in smartwatches I am beginner.
Can you give me some instructions, show the tools and the way to change ROM in smartwatch...?
@mrosi Enable adb in Android settings (not watch settings) and you should be able to install APKs, some AW2 ones even work with it, but watchfaces are gone after a reboot (you must install them again).

I bought the Amazfit Pace (used, second Hand ) for dirt cheap ( for 25 bucks ) .
And because i came from the Mi Band 3 previus... Its a nice upgrade and a good device for self education on smartwatches ( thanks to XDA ) .
But my next one in a "a few" month should be a better, faster one. With buttons ( because touch inputs while cycling is crap @ serius sports activyties )
Maybe the Stratos 2 or newer
ola pessoal tudo bem, estou com um grande problema, meu smartwatch amazfit nexo ligou e travou na tela de inicializacao e nao sai alguem poderia me ajudar porfavor.
Hello.
