Posting another review... This time of a BookGem for those still searching for a stable stand for our G/Tablets.
Its very stable and portable (IMHO).
Check the review and let me know what you think of it, or if you also have the bookgem stand.

Thanks S2W for the review. I have a question for you. I also have the bookgem but don't know if mine is defective. When opened the gem sits on the front spring rather then the the two front feet. It seems like there should be a rubber pad on these (to stop it from sliding and holding the gem above the spring hub). Does yours sit this way?

Your welcome... The spring hub is aligned with the 2 front feet of my stand. I did notice that when I closed the rear legs, the spring hub is no longer aligned. Standing the bookgem this way will give you a bit of that teeter-totter action since its meant to stand on an angle. But don't care for it as much in this position since it becomes no longer use as a stand but closed to put away.
Overall, I like the stand. Hopefully you're within your timescale and can return it back if defective. IMO, Its kind of useless to me, if you dont have the front feet stabled and aligned because of the spring hub dropping lower.
We have to trust that our Gtabs are secured. So if your unsure I would return it.
Glad you you caught the video.
Book Gem
I've had my book gem over the weekend and had to make one mod.
just above the book gem sticker there were are two pyramid looking stubs.
I took an excacto knife (a box cutter knife should work as well) to reduce the stubs and filed the remain flat.
Other then that I love my Gtab Gem. With the legs in, it's easier to hold with one hand, imo.

Black leather case delivered
Thank you for your excellent YouTube review. I'm now enjoying the leather case that arrived today. An excellent fit, no problems with port access or power/volume buttons. Definitely adds class to the G-Tab experience. I highly recommend it!
Stand and Case Together
Great videos!
I really like both the case and the stand, but would like to use them together. Is it possible to use the gtab with the stand while it is still in the case? Maybe you could do another video review of both together
Anyone know of a Kindle DX case that folds over into a stand in landscape mode? The only ones I have seen the stand is in portrait mode.
Thanks!
I must thank you. I was going back and forth between getting the Kindle DX case and the Zec case. I was on the fence about the Kindle case, but your video review totally solidified my decision. Got mine in today, and I couldn't be happier.
Thanks, man!
Saw your review of the Kindle case on YouTube. It was instrumental in my decision to order it for every day use. Thank you for taking the time to put it up there.
I had ordered and received one of those cases with the built-in usb keyboard before I made this decision as the keyboard is not silicone and will damage my screen if I decided to use it every day. The other case also didn't really keep my tablet secure at all and I felt it would slip out of it at any given moment.
I stopped carrying my powerhouse laptop with me when I travel on business (with the power adapter it weighs about 20 lbs). Now I just carry my G Tablet and use LogMeIn Ignition for Android to remote in to my laptop I keep at my office. I kept the other case so I can use it when I travel on business and need to type a lot. But I am really looking forward to receiving this Kindle DX cover so I can use it every day.

In the video, it looks like the wings come in contact with the touchscreen itself when placed in portrait. In light of how strong those springs look, I wouldn't want them in contact with the touchscreen at all. Perhaps this case is more for landscape only?

After reading this post I tried to place the gtab on portrait and carefully examine what you stated above... with mines it doesnt touch the screen, I will say that the paddings are close by the border of the touch screen but does not effect it. I can only speak for myself on this.
Hope that helps.
Thank you SIR!

I'm with the gentleman above. I would love to purchase this one but can it adequately be used as a landscape stand? That's really the make or break decision for me. I currently use the cheap carrying case from Sears to hold it so I may opt for the Bookgem or another case.

It is a great video, but some people got lucky with this case as I have just received it, and couple of corner holders won't catch the corner really well in my case.
I am thinking about returning it.

Thanks for the heads up. I ordered one yesterday. They haven't shipped it out yet so I could cancel but I think for $20, I'll take the risk. They do have great return policies.
I know the one with the keyboard is comparable priced but after putting aaron's back cover on mine, I don't really want to stick velcro on the back of it to keep it in place.
I guess I just should have opted for the Book gem and continued to use the Sears carrying case.

I was just coming on to post this because it seems as if this company is selling a different case now. My case doesn't have the same sheen on the outside, nor do I have the larger pockets on the inside like the one in the video. Never the less, it seems to hold the tablet the same, so I'm fine with it. Best option I've seen for the price I paid. ( $18.50 with free shipping.) I should add that I'm fine with the smaller inside pockets, as they don't push on the screen like the one in the video, but I do wish I had the outer cover as it does look like a better quality than the case I have.
Here is my review of the CLIP case. Just got it last night and so far I love it. Tablet fits very snug into the Clips, actually had a difficult time getting it into tabs. The stand function is great. I had been looking for the built in stand function ever since I got my tab. I got the white one since the black one was out of stock, but didn't really care about the color, although the white sort of looks like my uncles shoes down in Florida. No offense it2steve. The one tab does block the USB/sdcard slot, but I don't really use either very much so no biggie for me. The synthetic leather also had a very strong smell, but I imagine that will go away over time. Overall a very good product, will have to see how it stand up over time, and I will report back with any problems that do arise. Nice job it2steve.

Very. It pretty much filled up my office and bedroom. I'm happy to report that it's pretty much unnoticeable after 4 days unless you're, like, 3 inches away from it. So, uh, stay away if you're extremely far-sighted.
Hoping to grab a black one today...
but if someone is interested in swapping out for the white one, I would be interested in seeing it....of course if you live around DC it would be easier.
Do you have a link I can check out? I definitely need a case for my tablet. Also, did you get a plastic screen cover. If so, where did you get it?
So how long did it take you guys to get your stuff from Steve? I'm hoping to snag a Clip, but I will be on a trip from the 11th to the 15th, and I was hoping to get it for that.
CLIP just came in stock, I got a black one =D

Awesome, thanks.
Just placed my order for two clips, in black. Looking forward to having cases for my tab's so soon after they arrive (should get my 2 tabs tomorrow, and the cases next week!).
I really like the way it looks but i dont like that it is not leather and for $48 well? ???
Black CLIP on its way to my house as well...
I think I am all accessoried out. My wife is going to kill me when everything starts arriving. TAB coming today...then the screen protector...then the dock and charger from Steve...now the CLIP...and then the 16 GB MicroSD card.
Now if I can only get Vegan loaded without bricking the thing. :/
Grab the M1 then...cheaper price. Personally, I thought the CLIP looked easier to put on and off without covering the whole TAB. No one else I know has a TAB so I won't have any buyers remorse. I won't know what I am missing.

I have the white one and, while I may not be a leather connoisseur (hmm, that doesn't sound right http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZr8bbKxYrE ), I do know cheap when I see it, and this definitely does not look or feel cheap. I think it's mostly due to the fact that it has that leather texture and it's not that shiny, puffy, padded type faux leather that you see on a lot of cases or folios.
IMHO, it's worth the money, especially seeing how many awful (and less useful) cases are out there for as much money.
Oh, and it only took 4 days to receive, I think, and Steve seems like a very good guy and responds to emails very quickly.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend one.

It's worth it. And if for whatever reason you decide after you receive it that you really don't like it (I can't believe you would since this case is awesome) you can always sell it on eBay.
I"m not sure what to make of this case for the transformer. Does not have that many picture to show how well it fits and covers the transformer without the dock or with the dock. Does anybody have this product?

wow that doesnt look like the pictures from the amazon page.
how is the quality? imho doesnt look to great!
What poor designing...they really need to make one of these but with something like hard silicon/TPU/Plastic, similar to the InCase products for Apple Macbooks. Those just snap on in two pieces to the exterier of the laptop and cover it nicely when its closed. This just looks like a bombardment of faux leather all over the place.

Received mine today. I can't send it back fast enough. It's fairly low quaility and does not fit well. The description says it is leather but I can't find any. Seems to be made of vinyl and fake suade. It was only $23 so I was not expecting much but the fit and quaility was poorer than I expected.
This looks like it could have promise for a similar pricepoint.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Asus-Eee-Pa...?pt=US_Tablet_Accessories&hash=item3f0d4f8fa5
It's a shame that the Poetic case turned out to be such a disappointment.
I'm surprised, because I just got this Poetic case on eBay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/280719327360?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
and it's great. It arrived in about 4 days from California.
It's a sturdy case that holds the Transformer using corner/side clips only,
which leaves all the ports easily accessible. It appears to be made of leather, or
at least a good quality plastic simulation. The case closes with a curved metal clip
which seems well-padded and doesn't damage the tablet.
The case has three positions. I use the highest for watching movies and the lowest for anything
that requires lots of typing. The front of the case folds completely flat behind the back,
and you can even dock the tablet, although the case isn't intended to hold the dock.
The best part: Even though the pictures don't show it, the flap connecting
the front and back has an opening for the dock/charging connector.
I can charge the tablet without removing (or even opening) the case!!!
I e-mailed the vendor and they assured me that the dock/charging connector
opening is standard and offered a refund if anyone gets one without it.
I've tried a bunch of cases - separate sleeves for the tablet, a "dual" sleeve with separate
pockets for the tablet and dock, etc., but this is the one I'm staying with.
If anyone is interested, I got the Diamond design one
Pics: http://imgur.com/a/ZXR7c
I just got mine! I actually paid 26something USD to ship it to The Netherlands (why are these rates so ridiculously high!?)...
In the end, it works fine for me. It fits my tablet, I don't have to take it off to attach the keyboard dock and it also closes with tablet + dock inside. Details are fine, fit is reasonably good (it seems to be a bit off at the front facing cam).
$24 makes a good buy.. at 50 (including shipping), I feel a bit dissapointed.
Then again;
to protect my phone, I bought www.pielframa.com last year they don't sell Asus eee cases (yet??). Cost me quite a bit. Great finishing, real craftsmenship! When I dropped the phone, the leather ripped and bit by bit fell of the casing. Now, there's a leather-less patch (about 1 cm) doesn't really bother me, but it made me wonder how much a phone case should actually cost.. knowing you're not that carefull and might drop it anyway
Do you want Maximum Protection and Maximum Batterylife Yet you can only choose one or the other. well ive got news for ya . Introducing the Otterbox MAXIMUM edition Extended Case
This otterbox DEFENDER series Sets a good example for other phone cases on how they should be built. this case fests a Wamping 3500 Mah Hyperion Batterypack and Fits absolutely perfect Without even violating a percentage of protection.
This case took 2 hours to prep and 2 hours to make.
The case was a success !.
And now for the pictures.
Awesome! Just what I've been looking for. Gonna Google this to see how much it cost.
I'm afraid its doesn't exist till now . I crafted this whole design except the patent patent of otter boxes design
Ah, makes sense now!
What's protecting the battery's heat from the rubber?
some type of heat resistant tape. there are just a few things left that I have to do to complete it-
Maybe Otter will see this and start developing something like it! I would love to have a 3500mAH with the protection of the case.
Yeah I have like 4 of those for free.

Nice work man,
I did a mod like this on my defender for the hd2 HERE the case for that phone is a slightly different design + the battery is right in the middle of the case which helped.
I just did one for the Ballistic for the EVO which isnt as tidy but has been going strong for about 2 months.
I want to do a V2 of the ballistic a bit tidier this time .
Did you have to cut your backplate? I used the remainder of the extended one I used for the "bulge"
pics below>
EDIT Inspired by posting here last night, I was up late in the workshop V2!
Bottom 3 pics are the re-worked mod.
More people should try this mod on either Ballistic or Defender it takes some skill and the right materials but its totally do-able
Guys keep this up! I definitely need a case for this 3500 battery. I dropped this phone twice today. Face down! My luck may run out if I do it again.

Yeah man, throw some pics up soon, I love these mods!
one of the reasons why I got the evo3d over the sensation was the Extended battery/rugged case potential
Here are pictures of my 3D with the Seidio 4000.
First picture shows the back of the 3D.
Second picture shows the inside of the holster. It was dremeled to allow the bigger battery to fit comfortable.
Third picture just shows the phone sitting on the holster.
Fourth picture shows the phone clipped inside the holster. You can't even tell that there's a big fat battery inside there. =)
The last few pictures shows the cradle that i made out of pvc pieces. Besides not having to take the phone out of the case, you can angle the phone forward or backward when watching videos so it's very convienient.
(I've also made a simple mount out of plexi glass for my car that will work with the 3D inside the Defender. Which I will take pictures of and post after I get my car back from the body shop sometime this week.)
So is anyone going to put a tutorial on how to do these mods? I would really like to protect my phone with this beast of a battery on.
I wish I had taken photos as I was making the mods, but I didn't think about it. However, all you really have to do is SLOWLY cut out the back of the cover with a dremel tool.
*edit*
Oohaylima - if you were planning on using the 3500mah battery, then you don't have to dremel out the inside of the holster or cut the rubber on the case, bcuz I didn't have to when I had my 3500, but that battery didn't work as well as the Seidio 4000. I was trying to save a few bucks by buying the cheaper battery but in this case, you really do get what you pay for.

The holster is what keeps the battery in. So if you use the case with the holster than it shouldn't be a problem.

Right! That's one of the worse feelings in the world when it comes to damaging a vital electronic device.

Looks pretty good for $16... I ordered one to give it a shot. Hopefully the picture of the Galaxy S IV is accurate for the note 3 as it looks like the little rubber pads could be cut down to allow my slightly bigger wireless charging back cover to fit, if not oh well thats easy enough to change out.
Even the $30 knock-off lifeproofs for iphones suffered high leakage rates. There is one issue with the sealing band, and your $700 device is SOL. I wouldnt trust it at all.
I am curious to see your results. I really want a solid Water proof case if possible. Wish you luck and hope it works!
If this actually works well then that would be cool but I personally wouldn't want to be the one to test it out lol. I just refrain from taking my device anywhere near water. If it does manage to keep your device from getting wet then that is a $15 well spent.

I could not agree more. A waterproof case is nice to have, but how often are you swimming with your phone? The most moisture it will get is sweat or rain. I am in the Army, in Hawaii. We are outside all day doing stupid stuff in the rain. Rains all the time. A prepared ziplock is just as good
There is a good reason we don't take our phones swimming. They are not waterproof.
if they were. WE WOULD take them swimming. Baggies are great for protecting your phone from moisture while its in your pocket or your back pack. it sucks for shooting video through

What I'm really interested in about this case is the headphone jack.
For me it doesn't need to be completely waterproof as listen to music while I Mtn Bike or trail run with it in a jersey pocket...
I have always used a Dry Case with my other phones
http://www.drycase.com/
This works great to keep condensation out of it as you can suck the air out, however the Note 3 is just a little bit too big for it.
So, while it may not be something you are interested in, this is almost exactly what I'm looking for, 100% guaranteed waterproof would be nice, but not necessary for me.

I wish they made a waterproof for N3, honestly. The best part about work when I had a failphone 5 with a LP case was turning screen up, open notes write "HELP ME IM DROWNING!" and stick phone in a full pitcher of water only to have everyone freakout whenever they saw it.
I dont care if its big, Its fun to traumatize people that way.

Yeah close to the dry case, however no headphone port or one way air valve to prevent condensation... I have had lots of condensation form in ziplocks despite my best efforts to remove all the air.
A good solution for many no doubt.

I wouldn't trust this bag either. I bought one for my Galaxy Nexus when I went to Maui this year and it leaked.
Has anyone got the Love Mei water proof case for the Note 3?
(Sorry for no link, still under 10 posts. You can find it by searching "love mei note 3 powerful" in Google, it's the first link)
I've seen it for roughly half the listed price on ebay and case fanatic but yet to find anyone who's actually tried it yet.
I have ordered but it has not arrived figure another 1-2 weeks

Here's a lifeproof style case for the note 3 that I've just ordered. For only $15 it's worth a try, come on lifeproof aka Otterbox if they can do it so can you. Look out for my review when I receive it

Got a badly translated message from the seller about a warehouse issue, they refunded my order and took down the listing. I asked if they had any timeline for restock, or knew of any other sellers, or more information about the item and they didn't, so I'm suspecting that because the picture showed Galaxy S4 that they maybe have not produced a Note 3 variant yet.
I got my case. I am impressed. Waterproof? yeah not me buddy I won't be testing that with my baby inside.
water resistant? a very optimistic yes. I am really impressed with it so far. impressed enough that I will be doing a long term review and actually use the case for a while and see how it goes.
I have 3 videos uploading now. will post links once they are uploaded (2 are in 4k so they are freaking huge) I did the 3rd vid in 1080p since I liked the case enough I wanted to do it with the real phone in the case instead of the dummy stand in
Videos are online. 3rd video is "processing" should not be too long before its done

I hope everything worked out well for you and your Note 3...lol you've either got 1.) TONS of faith in this untested case, 2.) A large "pair" of ***** or 3.) More money than you know what to do with! lol if it's the 3rd, you can send some my way!
Oh. trust me. this case will NEVER intentionally see water with my baby inside it. no way. waterproof? not a chance. water resistant? probably.
I will test the water resistance with the dummy phone.
My balls are no where near big enough to trust my phone to it in any serious water. no freaking way
I don't need to waterproof my phone, just something I can use to play Ingress when it's raining (I'm in Vancouver, so it rains quite a bit here). I may just get one of the bag type setups (or use a zip lock bag)
yep. bag it and use a bluetooth controller is your best solution for that.
4g still works but the signal is degraded inside the case. I assume all signals are degraded to a point.
