Hey..basically I walked home in the rain today, using my original HTC Headset that came with my Touch HD. I got home, and a couple of hours I tried to make a call using the headset to find that although I could hear the caller, they could not hear me through the headset. All was fine once I used the handset alone, so I assume the rain has affected the microphone in my headset.
Anyone experienced this before? More importantly..anyone experienced this and managed to get their headset to work again? As is, i'm going to try and leave it over night to see if it makes a difference, and any moisture has evaporated..hopefully this will solve the problem. I will keep you all updated!
Also, does anyone know of an alternate headset with a microphone that has fairly decent sound quality..the stock HTC ones aren't all that great, and I can't use my Sennheiser HD205's as I need to microphone in a headset. Any suggestions welcome.
Many thanks in advance!
UPDATE: I've just found that the cable of the headset is damaged near the jack itself, so a replacement will be necessary...any suggestions?
there is no other headphone than bose. if u really want to listen music (at least of me) but
go for sennheiser £19 that one is made for iphone one for normal use if u dont want to pay bose.
i had headphone misery with htc touch hd and bose together,,however,
i bought this sennheiser i feel this is best for price. if u dont want to pay bose.
cheers mate! Think i'm going to go for the Sennheisers
HTC Touch ProII
I have exactly the same problem that just the mic on the headset is not working... but this was an out of the box! So I assumed that it was the headset, and bought a new one. Alas the new one didn't work either. I also bought an htc adaptor and connected a 2.5 mm mic head set and the voice came thru very quitely for a couple of seconds and then died. I don't think its the software... I updated my rom to:
ROM 1.86.401.0 (67102) WWE
And changed the Orange SPL to Rhodium-HardSPL_V2_00R3
Any one got any ideAS?
One day, after I took my X10 out of silent mode, the "boop" sound for volume adjustment wasn't clear. Tried music and it was quite obviously distorted. Sound through the headphones remained perfectly clear!
Music distortion is one thing, but this makes my ringer much quieter
If the headphones are clear, it seems like it can't be the internal amplifier.
Does anybody know where a replacement speaker can be found?
if i'm not mistaken, a speaker of that size cannot possibly give you the type of sound you would find on a desktop computer.
and if i'm not mistaken as well, speakers of all phones are really horrible, compared to using the headphones. so it's a normal thing.
i believe there are speaker accessories for the x10. look at SE's global website
To clarify:
The phone had clear sound for months.
One day, the sound was distorted.
It has remained distorted, even at low volumes.
The headphone sound is still clear.
Therefore, I suspect the speaker is damaged.
I don't want external speakers, I want to hear my ringtone when I get a call!!!
(bump)
Any sources for X10 parts???
why don't you send it to se that they repair it for you ?
here is a page with spare parts:

call me crazy, but blow (using your mouth!!) into the speaker holes. My old C905 had the same thing and it turned out to be dust/sand/junk that was stuck in the speaker hole - causing the speaker to distort!
worth a shot hey!
I have only had my rezound a few days, While on the phone the earpiece speaker sounds distorted, almost like the volume is to loud and the speaker cant handle it. I turned the volume down but that didnt help either.
Hard to explain the sound really, the voice coming from the earpiece is not clear, It would be like buying a cheap $20 kmart car speaker and hooking it up to a alpine tuner and cranking the volume all the way up.
Anyone else have this issue?

I had the same issue. RETURN IT NOW! Seriously take it back and get a new one. I took mine back, mine had the earpiece problem and it sounded like a blown out speaker. My new one is perfect!!!
Hey I own the i9300 and for a while my audio has been very quiet, to the point where I had to put my ear next to the speaker to hear anything, and the odd thing is only earphones with one cable instead of two joint ones coming from the jack will work. I've replaced my speaker earlier and it's no different. Does anyone have any idea what the problem is? Sorry for the poor explanation.
I have a very special problem, when using custom roms on my Lg G Pro 2 my microphone for phonecall acts very strange.
I hear myself while speaking and also the people I speak to hear themself, if I touch the backside of the phone I can hear it very well in the earspekar. It is like the whole back of the phone is like a microphone that takes in sound around it.
Anyone here know how to fix it?
