I've been using my Xiaomi Redmi note 4 (SD) and I'm on roaming and one thing that I can't understand that when I use miui 9 then I get full signal on Jio 4g but as soon as i flash Lineage is i never get full signal even in the same room. Is there any workaround or fix?

Hi, My new Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 has network reception problems. Singal is weak, max 2 bars and it drops to zero randomly. 2G/3G got the same problem. Wifi is working fine. I have tried a new SIM card, factory reset, changing all settings but it didnt help. It looks hardware issue.. antennas are not working properly. How can i fix it? Any ideas? I can not find a tear down video for Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 anywhere online.

Which ROM are you currently running? I know that the DELIRIUM ROM has very good signal strength. Sometimes this varies between ROMs. Check your router as well with other devices to make sure it's your phone that is the problem. Try to test it with other phones as laptops usually have beefy WiFi antennas.
Hello,
So I've been using my Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro Global Edition (kate) for a month now.
Everything's been going great except for one bug that's really annoying : when I enter an rural area with only EDGE, and then get back into an area that has 3G, H+ or LTE, the phone doesn't switch back to a better data network.
I've found a trick that allows me to get a better network back, by changing the preferred network type to 2G and then to LTE again. Only then does it finally detect the LTE network. It works but it's annoying to have to do this everytime I want to search for something quickly.
I'm currently using CyanogenMod 13 for kenzo with kate modem flashed, but I don't think this is the source of the problem as I previously used MIUI 8 and there was the same problem.
I live in France but I'm almost sure the bands are not a problem as I can receive LTE, but it just doesn't switch to it when on EDGE.
I'm hoping you have some solutions.
Hello guys, Im using Jio as my primary sim and getting poor signals in most areas with frequent fluctuations, can someone suggest a good firmware to fix this issue?
Flash any latest firmware and then flash AOSIP
Have a stable LTE signal
Sent from my Redmi Note 3 using Tapatalk
I have good experience with the same, too.

Port out. It's only issue with Jio.
I use Airtel and Vodafone on 4G and the signal doesn't go down like Jio. I don't think any firmware can fix it. I'm on latest developer firmware. Test yourself, use any other network sim on 4G in your phone and see if the signals fluctuate.

I dont think so, I tested with Voda too it was stable (only Volte 4G signal is unstable) but on MIUI it is great
Use CAF based ROMs like AOSiP or CitrusCAF to get accurate signal representations.
Other roms too get the same signal strength but they're misrepresented.

If you can, check the speedtest on both MIUI and custom rom. It'll be same. Atleast, that's the case with me when I started using MIUI and than moved to custom roms. I think MIUI fake signals where as the stock roms give you the real picture. That's why people think the signal is stable in MIUI roms. That's my opinion.
I''ll never go back to MIUI rom else I would've tested it myself today.
BTW: signal is based on MHz and JIO is not stable as of now. This is why Vodafone is working fine for you. JIO fails most of the time cause they are still not prepared with network, I don't think Volte has any role in that.
I (living in Switzerland) have my Redmi Note 4X ("International", includes Band 20) since approx 2 weeks now. Unfortunately I am having "problems" when on LTE (cellular data). Before switching to the RN4X I had a Mi4c (and before that a Samsung GSIII), so I am comparing to these.
When out of a wifi I "often" have no internet connection. I installed "LTE discovery" app which allways shows signal reception in the bands 3, 7 and 20 (I guess I have seen band 1, too). The bars toggle (even when not moving) from 1 to 4, though. I seldom see a switch into the 3G net.
I am currently running
cm-14.1-mido-firmware (could the modem-FW "in there" be the problem?)
RR 5.8.3
Unfortunately I can't say whether the "problem" described existed from the very beginning (i.e. with the original MIUI) because I switched to RR on the very first day I received my RN4X.
Is this a modem-FW or (even worse) a HW issue? Can/should I
1) download the latest greatest fastboot ROM from here
http://en.miui.com/a-234.html
2) extract the NON-HLOS.bin (which is >80MB, whereas the bin you linked is just 36MB)
and
3) flash it (as explained by T.Ru)
What else can/should I try?
Thx for any advice
Clemens
PS: Excuse the flaky wordings: "problems", "often", "sometimes" etc. but I can't be any preciser
Flash this firmware zip from twrp. I hope it will be fixed

Hi, did you manage to solve your problem? I'm having some too (even if data works fine, I have problems with the voice network, when it comes to receive or make calls or messages).
As of now my "workaround" is setting "Preferred network type" to 3G /
We know how much you like to stream, ahem, "videos", and so cellular data is mega-important. Rate this thread to express how you think the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4's LTE performs. A higher rating indicates that it's fantastic: throughput is excellent and signal strength is top-notch.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add.
I'm not sure if it's an issue with the firmware on my device (using firmware from MIUI 9.1 with LineageOS 14.1), but I often find that my Redmi Note 4 drops signal in low signal areas and fails to return much more often than my previous device (Uhans A6). That said, it doesn't drop calls and seems pretty good otherwise.
Same to me with LinOS 14.1 where stock Miui had a stable signal strength using SIM slot2 (nano sim). I've tried several firmwares with no difference. I'm not sure if this is really an issue or if the signal strength indicator simply has a bad resolution to look that flaky.

These issue are a cause by the error in software that handles the signal indicator. There's no real issue with your custom ROM affecting your signal strength.

Wrong. If I toggle flight mode, signal returns instantly. Otherwise I can have no signal for minutes at a time.

I have been using Lineage OS 15.1 on my Redmi Note 4 for 5 days but a major bug in it is that I cannot place call through Vodafone sim when Volte of Jio sim is on.On the other hand if I turn off the Volte option then I can call using Vodafone but not with Jio. Can anyone help with this problem???

I saw Vodafone also launched VoLTE services. Since RN4 doesn't support dual LTE, could that be the problem?
