Hello..
I have Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge that is almost 2 yrs old. I have come across a point where my device refuse to connect to any USB device vta OTG cable or recognise PC. It also charges extremly slow (roughly takes 8 hrs to charge completely).
I have tried all the tricks that i can find on the internet and even got my battery replaced but nothing happned and it is still the same. Now this has turn me into huge problem. I suspect the charging port have some issues with it. If not then what could be the cause of the problem ?
Please help me out of this disaster
Thank you

I have the same problem.Changing the charging port wont help you.I changed charging port witg generic one(not OEM) and then I changed again with OEM one but still not working.I took some measurments on the charging port flex assembly and all 3(original from the phone, generic board and OEM board) measure the same uninterupted connections and voltages.I had succes(sort of)...i took the original flex out of the phone, cleaned it with IPA alcohol and shoved small screwdriver inside the port and lifted up little tab with contacts...it looks like mess and then i connected some **** allowmost broken cable inside and it was charging fast...but still it would say Cable charging instead of Fast charging and it would charge in about 2h from 0-100%.Over time the port fell apart and now I am back on slow charging and even the batery life is worse now. When connected to PC it says Unknown USB.I'll keep you updated if I find the solution...so visit this thread occasionally.Sorry for my English...its not the best.

EDIT:
I found solution in clangms. its a Spanish forum, So basically if your having same problem u need to check 2 diodes that u can see in this image:

If your the ones that changed usb port too, and keep getting same error when conecting to pc, this is the solution, check continuous in the diode, if one of them has continuously with grownd, change it, or in the fact only remove it, u are going to gain again, fast charge and USB recognition in the PC and Odin..
sorry my english, here is the original thread..
https://www.clangsm.com/forum/index.php?&showtopic=439670
Thanks for clangsm for the solution..
use a wireless charging pad .. 0 to 100 in 2,5 hours ..
Which two diodes? 1 or 2
ibb.co/nsok38
I goes on the original topic , i remove the two fuse (because its like fuse if i read correctly) and nothing change, it just charge. thats all.
Damn this phone really..

[GSM/CDMA] How to flash via RSD when you read "Cannot program" or "Battery LOW"
Welcome to Eternity Project!
What are these things?
The Motorola FactoryCable is simply skipping the battery and making your phone to take the necessary current for powering it up from your PC's USB.
Note that it won't charge your battery. It will SKIP IT.
On a device with removable battery, if you remove the batt, it will still powerup with that cable.
Why should I have one?
- "Cannot program" or " Battery Low" when you try to flash via RSD. The Factory Cable eliminates this problem.
- The device won't powerup or charge: if it works with a Factory Cable, then it's a battery problem. If not, your device is a paperweight.
- If anyone finds other uses for it, I'll write 'em here
-----Factory Cable:-----
You need:
1. An USB cable to break, or an USB to MicroUSB adapter (~2$) to break.
2. A brain
3. Soldering iron (if you don't find another method for fixing the cable.....)
4. A brain.
5. Pieces of rigid copper or aluminium (copper preferred)
Pinout:
1 VCC Red +5 VDC
2 D- White Data -
3 D+ Green Data +
4 ID NC Identification
5 GND Black Ground

Guide for a 3-in-1 cable:
1. Solder rigid copper wires on PIN 1, 4 and 5.
2. Drill 3 holes in your USB to MicroUSB adapter for making the rigid wires to pass through.
3. Connect PIN4 to PIN1 (externally ) for FACTORY CABLE or PIN4 to PIN5 for OTG CABLE (for USB HUBs and USBHost functionalities). Don't connect anything for normal USB cable for USBSync/ADB etc.
Enjoy!

What a man!!!!
You are big!!!
I had a problem on doig this on a full discharged phone and bboting into fastbbot, i was swetting, but i solved anyway.
this maybe is a goos solution
pic fore more help
You can anyway use the Factory Cable even if your battery is in your phone.
You don't need to remove it for using the factory cable.
I'm sure this works, But:
Just fully charge it, there's a reason you're not allowed to update when running on empty, you may brick it, and without firmware you can't charge the battery.
i get the point that a little DIY is always adventurous and fun but whats the big deal to charge the device before flashing a rom?
This is for a phone that can't boot the kernel for charging the battery.
You saved me
Uhhhhh,
i used Your scheme and everything is correct,
i just programmed the phone while battery was low and bricked it, but with your cable averything was fine..................you saved my phone...
thanks
I remember doing this for my Defy and actually fried the Battery after doing it for more than 4-5mins.
I dont know if this setup is an improvment over that but I think one needs to be careful. Before, we ended up with a hot over charged battery and had to buy a new one. Later we got hold of an external battery charger (that was a removable battery of course).
I hope some accessory like that exists on eBay for us to just order it incase phone goes dead. We might be able to just open screws, pop out the battery and put it into a charger
@Pietrona
The EternityProject is here for helping
@chaihg
I've used it with my ATRIX and never experienced something like that.
Perhaps, your cable was bad and shortcircuited something else or your battery was already bad ... or the DEFY simply reacts different.
But anyway the battery circuits are stopping the charging process when it is fully charged, so probably your battery was bad.
EDIT : THANKS
You save the life of my phone !!!!
BUT :
How can I charge the phone now ?
The phone boot very well in android, but battery bar stay red
If I plug in a normal usb cable, it was a White front LED, but the phone don't want to boot
If I boot with Volume UP +Down + Power, the dot disapear 5 sec and come back again
EDIT :
I found a way : I use the Car charger for charge it, with this way, it charging
But, can't charge now in normal Usb.... with the computer, in Charging only mod, or in Storage mod, he don't wan't to charge....
.... after 5 reboots, work's again oO
I don(t understand, but it work's
ok. I really have never solder'd anything in my life, and dont have any friends that know how to do it as well.. Is there anyone willing to do it and send one my way, ill pay of course. please help a fellow friend in need.. Im stuck.
or factory cable : http://shop.teamblackhat.info/
would love to. but out of stock.
Heh, if you were in Italy I could have made one for you.. but shipping costs would be too high for a $3 cable..
doh. yeah that would probably cost a bit. thanks though

I'm in the same situation. I'd buy one from someone.
Thanks kholk, after many tries now the factory cable is working for me xD
But it's look so ugly lol
My XT910S is dead anyway, no korean sbf file to rescue it
Just to let some people, sometimes even if you have a full battery that doesn't mean anything. It helps to ensure the flash goes well yes. Even with a full battery its possible that you flash and for what ever reasons the phone reports "Low Battery" even knowing it had a full charge. This was my case tonight, sense I was sure where I placed my original OEM Motorola cable. I decided to make one. Lol i was about to post a thread my self already seen this one though. Here is some pics of what my home made one looked like.
By the way the only cable I had spare of was a Samsung Micro, lol i must say they really in cased this puppy in a shield and bunch of rubber.
Hey guys,
been a long time lurker, but I've ran into a bit of a snag that I need some help with.
missus broke her charger and used something else to charge the phone and after a bit the phone just went pop and turned off and wont switch back on again.
There is no visible damage to the phone whatsoever.
Is there some sort of mechanism designed to protect the phone from the surge or whatever it was?
I would hate for the main board to be completely knackered :S
I've been reading around and there is a USB board that connects to the rest of the phone? will it be just a case of replacing that or is the phone shafted? :S
Thanks folks.
Depends on what kind of charger she used. I do know that there are some micro-usb chargers/cable whose pin connections are different than the ones that come with the i9100.
If a different battery and a oem charger doesnt turn on the phone at all, your only option may be to send it to samsung for repair.
Thanks for the reply.
She's tried charging it on the PC and it wont work.
not to keen on sending it to samsung as they'll charge an arm and a leg.
What do you guys think? Will the damage be limited to the USB board or will this cost me any more?
Im not at home right now to be able to open it up so will rely on your expert opinions!
Honestly, how would we know without looking at it ? Something is blown which is stopping the phone from powering up, what, is anyone's guess.
Take it to a mobile repair shop if you don't want to send it to Samsung & get a quote.
As above and they might say it needs a new USB board then you can price a USB board up on ebay .
jje
Thanks guys,
In your opinion. Is it likely that the main parts of the phone have been damaged or do you think the damage has been absorbed by the battery and USB board?
Have you sniffed it to see if it stinks of burning.I would open it up and look at the internals.I would only send it for repair as a last resort as mboards are like 180 bucks.

Ok. You already got an answer, so frankly, you deserve this.
I reckon the phone is totally shot. Not replaceable. Foolishly using an incompatible charger has turned the phone into a $500+ 135 gram hunk of useless plastic. Stuffed, in a word. Time for a new phone.
Now, for the slow kids up the back, you put too many zzzzs into the phone. Something burnt out. I don't know anyone on here who has the ability to view the innards of your phone over distance.
Take it to a phone shop.
I can say it slower if that didn't get through ?

Theres no need to be arrogant about it.
Not once did I ask for you to use your magic skills to look inside the housing of my wifes phone. At this moment in time, even I do not have this ability.
I asked for your "opinion" as to what the damage could potentially be, google it if you require a definition.
I still thank you for delivering to me your opinion (eventually)
I'm away from home for a few weeks so I can't have a look inside the phone so just trying to get some feelers as to the likelihood of damage byond the USB flex cable.
Thank you very much,
GP
You have to first tell us what the "something else" used for charging is before we can make an educated guess as to what has happened.
whoops sorry about that.
It was a broken charger from an old android phone.
It would sometimes work, and not at other times.
I'm guessing the charger short circuited or something??
Cheers again
Think he means volts,mAs,polarity of the charger
sent by my s2 using xda premium
Right, I did some digging and it turns out I was lying.
it wasn't a broken charger, It was a perfectly healthy charger for a Samsung tocco lite
i checked the spec on it and it seems to be the same as the S2
5v
0.7A
?
yeah that wouldn't damage the phone without anything else being wrong, like the charger being 110V and you being in 220-220V country or something like that
nope :S
nothing like that.
it was used in the same house.
So you're saying there could be an underlying issue?
Broken charger or broken phone. It wasnt the charger's specs that killed it
Connect it to a car in the car battery and start ignition. Now there is "something else" for you

Hey guys,
I have an update.
I've finally gotten home and managed to pull the sucker apart.
No corrosion on any parts of the phone whatsoever.
However I have noticed something about the actual USB port that is stuck onto the USB flex cable
If I face the socket away from me, there are 7 joints that solder the port onto the usb board. The Joint on the far right, I wouldn't say it looks burnt, but it just looks a little dull compared to the rest, and definately looks slightly different.
This joint has a white arrow pointing towards it printed on the PCB of the actual board.
I tried taking some photos but they're not exactly high res.
Unfortunately I can't determine if the dullness of this joint is significanlty enough to denote damage or whether thats how it should normally look like.
Does anybody know what it should look like?
I tried googling for pictures but there arent any clear ones that show this. :S
Cheers.

After talking to alot of people about my modded dock last year alot of people are still having trouble doing this
and getting Red X and Not charging properly etc..have had recent PMs asking for help so i hope this can help you guys..
Decided to Try make a full guide to OTG and Charging at same time for Galaxy tabs.
I only have 7.73G but would guess it should work for all tabs?
If you have a different Tab or Differnet Rom i cant say it would work for you..Not all Roms are the same..At this stage im on Official JB Rom Stock for 7.7..will test other custom roms and report..
I started with my Kinetica Break out Board (Google it if you want to buy one, about $15 when i got mine)

I stuffed it last year experimenting and burned out a earth of pin 01 but just soldered a wire to the top and all good now
(ignore the black earth wire when looking at my pics, your black wire should go to pin 01 of board).
*instead of using a female usb port for host i use a USB MINI MALE Plug that can go directly to a HDD or Powered HUB.By soldering this directly to the Break out Board it eliminates bad connections and annoying drop outs whilst watching movies from your USB HDD.
This is how it's wired.
OTG USB
Black 01
Green 03
White 04
Red 06
Power Source (must be 2 amps 5v.. if you want it to work properly)
Red 07/08
Black 30
OTG Host
Resistor 20k 13/15
Thats it very easy..
Before connecting your new set up to the Tab be sure to run a test light and check for any shorts or crossed up wires.just apply power to the wires and check the surrounding pins even if you didnt solder to them(just incase you have a short)once this has been checked you are good to go..
First step is Tablet is OFF and kinectica board is pluged in.
Power is applied to your wires and must be 2 amps 5v..
noted i used power from my external battery for this exercise and is 2 amps source...but you can get from power adapter or somewhere else..
Powered Hdd and usb are now connected to break out board.
This part you will see it trigger charge by plugging in the powered hdd.
(Its not the power wires that trigger it.For advanced people Dont try anything with shorting data lines to trigger charge or the 2 resisters that are used in the stock charger,i went that way and fried my tab and break out board once but got it replaced under warrenty not worth playing around with it.ive tryed switches and everything but found the first way to be the safest way after shorting the board.you can never rely on switches to work properly and they can make contact when closed etc damaging you tab so dont bother trying it)
If you got a Red X over your battery Its NOT charging and you shouldnt see one.You need to restart the tab again and need to get rid of the red x properly before going further.
To Get Rid of Red X is tricky sometimes and can be a pain and give you one every time but sometimes it just starts with out one.you need to be patient and just figure out the right time to connect the hdd on start up.when it works remember exactley when you did it and do the same next time.eg count samsung logo flashing etc..then connect it.a bit of experimenting is required here.
Restart the tab with power added and hdd powered but no usb connected.this time put usb in as samsung logo apears.delaying plugging in the hdd seems to work for me and next time it starts you should see its charging on lock screen.
at bottom Right hand corner you will also see a usb symbal and get a message usb device connected.
Now you must check settings/Battery status to see its "AC Charging".
If not another restart will be required untill you get AC Charging.Remember no .5amp 5v sources these may give usb charging instead of AC Charging..
Once this is OK continue..
Now open paragon or what ever you use and mount your drive where you want it im doing mine automatically as recomended and seems to work good with the new Stock JB 4.12 rom....
this pic you can see the hdd is mounted in my files
Hdd Sizes..
im using a 3TB NTFS on this pics and works fine.Have also tryed 2TB,1TB,500GB and all work fine inc multiple drives at same time with powered hub.
Movies can be played with MX player or BS player for the ones that dont play on mx player like some of the blueray rips
Next step is optional..
I wanted to clean it up abit so dug out one of my old USB Host adapters and opened up the plastic case and removed circiut board.
now glued the kinetica board to the case after checking it all works..
glue drying all day before a i close the case but will look a bit neater than wires and stuff everywhere.
I like this better than the dock i did before..
Any questions fire away..
I havent used host for any other purpose than the HDD.
The guys running DanielHKs Roms are 4.2JB
for NTFS Mounting you will need to use Cryo File manager to first make a new folder at /new folder location.
You will need to mount it exactley there..you can not mount it in /storage as NTFS has problems in 4.2 im sure a fix will be around the corner but i ended up going back to stock 4.12 for a while cause wanted to try the new stock rom and so far no complaints.Im still Rooted with TWRP and have DanielHKs Rom Recoverys so when i get some time ill make a back up then swap roms and post up my results using charge and hdd on those roms(PA and CM10.1).
have done this on ICS before and can confirm both host and charge worked at same time.
Will update more pics of my board when the glue dry and case is back together..
Well plugged it in and played around with it this morning turning on and off repeatedley..
went into charge and hdd every time with no red x.
the only time you will get a red x is when you plug in otg host and charge at same time whilst the tab is on.
I did this to look for solutions and found simply restart it will get rid of the red x..dont touch anything just reset it.heres the red x over the battery..
Ive made it sound simple to do and works with no problems but must admitt ages ago when i first started using host and charge together at same time i also had troubles with drop outs and red x s alot.Really i think soldering the usb cable directley to the board fixed all that, now i never got a red x again.also forgot to mention..When you battery is full and 100 percent or so..if you unplug charger and keep watching movie or whatever you were doing you cant plug charge back in when its turned on and hosting it will give you the red x and you battery will continue to deplete..when you want to reconnect charging again you will have to unmount hdd and restart it with everything plugged in again.
Ive clocked up more hours than anybody would beleive as used this to watch movies whilst working at my old job last year.it was shift work and my co worker would take over and use it aswell when my shift finnished.we had the Tab running the HDD and on Charge 24/7 for 7 months straight..
the tab never had a problem charging all that time as was depleating at same time to keep the host connection.once it gets full i unplug it and let it drain.
well im going to change roms now and test it out on different ones..
will post up to confirm which roms are ok..
Tried out danielHKs newest CM ROM...for a short time
Charging and OTG works fine....
If using es file explorer need to change permissions to root access first and remember forever..
Then make a new folder outside of the /storage directory .
It needs to be made at /new folder.
Then use paragon to set manually and mount this location.
This 4.2 is not working properly and won't mount NTFS in normal place.unfortunately you need to make this new folder on every start up.
Aside from that you can charge and access the drive at same time on this ROM..I'm guessing PA would work the same.I found there is a
/usbdisk0 that looks like it could be used but when I try use paragon manually to select that one it over rides my selection and mounts it as /storage/usbdisk0.This won't work as can't be mounted in /storage so this is why I made a new folder. Not 100% sure but looking again /usbdisk0 doesn't show up in CM file manager
Under / . so I'm guessing es file xplorer is showing it maybe its a shortcut link to /storage/usbdisk0 and that's why won't work...will
Have a look further when I got time...
Will try some More ROMs and post up details...I'm guessing they will all work fine now after CM works...
Well my tab still on charge in CM..
Just checked the battery level and notice it says charging but is depleting slowly....
Sorry but CM doesn't work at moment I need more time to find why and re check everything again...
Will test and report....
hi, would it be possible for the usb card reader kit to be used and where could i tap/put for 5v input so it could charge and same time use the card reader?
Really I would have to say No ..
Best bet would be to get the break out board from kinnetica and replace the board inside the card reader like my pics.the problem with the card reader is the 30 pin connector that is soldered to the origonal board is not populated at the charging pins.to remove it or try to populate it i would imagine you would stuff it up and just easier to replace the board with kinetica one.It only cost me $15..
Best investment i ever made.
other way to do it is to open up a old desktop dock and add power to inside it.
search modding origonal desktop dock samsung for more info..
Adapter available now that can simultaneously charge and have USB hosting Galaxy Tab
An adapter is available now for that has simultaneous charging and USB hosting for the Galaxy Tab. See the blurb written by the designer, Roman Wynnyckyj of LAVA Computer MFG. More info on the adapter is available on the LAVA Computer MFG website (I can't post the link since I just joined). Maybe someone else can post a link to the product page: "xxx://lavalink.com/products/usb-host-charging-adapter-for-samsung-galaxy-tab/"
"Well it is possible to charge and have the Galaxy Tab in host mode at the same time. It took us a good while to figure it out but it has been done.
We have built a little cable with 2 usb connectors on the end - one for charging, one for a USB host device such as a usb-memory stick, keyboard, serial port etc. Note, you can also connect a hub.
The circuitry to do this little trick is quite complicated and requires a state-sequential machine (cpu) to cycle the tablet whenever charge power is applied. The unfortunate negative of this is that whenever charge power is applied the tablet will disconnect all host devices, enable charging and then reconnect the attached devices. If charge power is unplugged later on the host mode is not affected. Charge rate varies with battery level. The highest rate (about 1.7 amps will be achieved when the tablet is near or below 10% battery charge. As the battery becomes more fully charged the tablet automatically reduces power draw. Once fully charged the tablet will draw about 700mA with screen full on (full brightness) keeping the battery at full charge.

It's not the same. The e-bay item only offers (supplemental) power to a USB device connected to the tab (a hungry HDD for example).
This can be simply solved by a powered USB HUB.
The device from LAVA does CHARGE the TAB while using it.
The problem is you cannot usually use the tab (with a USB device attached) and simultaneously CHARGE it.
Will the Lava adapter work with Galaxy Note 10.1 with an identical 30 pin connector?
Should work the GT2 Note 10.1

It should work with the Galaxy Tab 10.1 Note. There is a video on YouTube showing it working with the Verizon LTE Note 10.1. Search for "galaxy tab usb adapter host charge". It is one of the videos from LAVA.
It doesn't work with mine, Galaxy Note 10.1
I've got this Lava adapter, but unfortunately it doesn't charge the tablet while using it. Even if I use an usb hub or the adapter directly.
But the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is charging well while using it...
sent from htc one...
It seems Kineteka (manufacturer of the breakout board seen in the guide) no longer exists. Does anyone have an idea where something similar might be found?
I've got an galaxy Note 10.1 2014 too,and order the lava tl-002 adapter now. It should work, i got a p605,the lte version. I think, the problem is,the p600 (without lte) have a complete different hardware (exynos),i got one before, and some adapters for usb works complete different. In two days, the adapter will arrive and i will report,

i have installed Samsung Tab2 GT-P3100 in my car,did everything as in diagram for charge and host, but was getting red cross very often, tried one thing and it works for a day already, just connected positive 5v power for host usb socket from main power feed, from 7/8 pin, just left 6 pin not connected,so USB is getting positive lead from main power, not tablet
Great job! I use ready product (TL-002) from Lavalink for connecting my gamepad with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S. It provides OTG/Host Charge for Samsung Tabs. Meaning, you can simultaneously charge and use USB peripherals at the same time. As much as I can see from their specs, there are few elements to consider. Not every Tab supports this functionality (kernel issue), plus, there are 2 components (hardware + 5pin cable) to make a data & charging possible. Cheers!
Hey guys, recently bought an Onda V811 Quad Core android tablet (a Chinese tablet).
2-3 days ago i could charge through USB cable plugged into a laptop and a AC adapter to charge on the wall.
But the next day i couldn't charge, i tried plugging the USB in the laptop and the wall charger and it still didn't charge.
My tablet still has 11% of battery left, My tablet works fine, everything works fine smooth and brilliant, it's just the fact that i cannot charge through my USB cable anymore. idk why =(.
I could turn it on and everything is functional, except battery charging.
I also tried hard reset and factory reseting, that didn't work either.
is anyone here at XDA an expert at tablet repairs/fixing? that can help me?
That would be much appreciated. Thank you

1) Try a new microusb cable
2) Try another USB port from laptop
3) Reboot the tablet, and if the problem still there, try at least, off-mode charging
Well, finally , if you does not resolve the problem, seems that you have an hardware ,,error,, (short..), so go to a service.
Well, i have just tried everything you listed, doesn't work, i guess its either the battery is dead or the port has something wrong or wires wrong.
B ut then again, if the battery is dead, how come i can still use my tablet with its 10% now left?

Now i understeand that the problem it`s coming from the tablet, more exacty from the charger microusb port.
Solution: Buy an universal battery charger from an elecetonics store, and everything would be ok.
Something like that:

Well, you just put the battery in, then connect it to a wall socket, and wait until an LED flashes.
BUT this solution won`t work for you because, it seems that your battery it`s integrated in tablet`s hardware.
No sense in wasting any money. The usb port on the tab is probably bad,or the voltage regulation part. I will assume the port is the same for both USB and Wall Charge? If so, there's a hardware malfunction on the tablet.
If you can not return it for an exchange or the warranty is expired, then you could possibly open the tablet and look for any type of loose connection near the USB port.
Does the PC still recognize it when you plug in the USB?

The PC doesn't recognize it at all, and the port is used for both the USB and Wall Charge.
So you assume that it is hardware malfunction, so would it be the ports fault or the battery with the wires connected to the motherboard's fault?

Could be either. The port itself is bad, or a connection to the port. Without opening it up, you wouldn't know. Either way, if its under warranty, I would return it,

Oh i opened it up before and checked, but i didn't unscrew the motherboard since the ports were upside down, so i couldn't check whether the port or the battery was wrong.
Greetings all, I am currently trying to figure out which contacts to short and am wondering if anyone else knows which are the EDL points on the Moto G Power. Here is a photo of the motherboard with all the points labeled. If I figure this out before someone is able to reply, I'll update my findings. Thank you for viewing my post.

Sorry for the late reply. I have yet to figure out an answer still. All of the points are unpowered which is strikingly odd as I've worked with bricked phones before and at least the some of the points have juice running through them to figure out which is what.
My device does indeed power on as the status LED is functioning correctly. I've yet to take the device apart any further, but I'm assuming that I'll need to in order to figure this one out.

Sorry, I do not have an answer yet. I hope I will soon enough, but I've been busy with other work and put this project off to the side for the time being. I have tried the points under the LCD as well with no avail.
Best of luck on your end as well. I hope one of us is able to solve this though.
Ok same here I'm keep trying...the other day I found a post for G8 stylus on the forum here and it worked so I spend the half of the Sunday trying again and nothing I tried as well under the LCD connector I even tried to do the one pin and the other to ground as I remember on my old Lenovo that how I fixed it....anyway thanks for the reply if anything comes up I will let you know and I hope some of the masters here can step up here and help us..
trying to figure this out as well thanks for the post
pretty sure i found the points
huge pain in the ass to short them because theyre under the usb cable
when i short these points my phone is recognized as an unknown usb device for a couple seconds and then nothing
anyone trying
the usb ribbon needs to be connected for the short to do anything
I had mine hooked into a port with hardbrick, the computer would off and on recognize as some foreign port. But then I flashed the wrong. Now the computer doesn't see it at all. Tried your edl points with some solder wick, just threw it under the usb cable. Sorry to say I didn't get anything back.
i wasnt able to test further because one on the pads came off the board

that method is very unreliable
remove the battery so you can peel up the usb ribbon
bend the usb ribbon so that you can bridge the pads with tweezers while the ribbon is connected
this is the only way i was able to get it to be recognized as a device on my pc
however, i was never able to get it to stay in whatever mode it was booting to as it would disconnect itself after about 2 seconds every time

Any luck? Looks like this is the same mobo as the g stylus and I'm also trying to activate edl mode.
FWIW I found this thread, but the points illustrated here don't seem to work for me: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/sofia-edl-points-found.4457105/
