I tried to flash my note 2 to 4.1.2 and it failed. Now I'm just trying to get it back to stock. It keeps failing on modem.bin.
I've tried...

Any ideas?
If I remember right you should try a different version.
I tried using my work computer (also windows 8 64 bit) and finally got the root66_VZW_stock_system.tar file to flash, but then it gets stuck in a boot loop.
What version should I be trying?
Thanks
I can get the phone to boot using root66 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2024207) or VRALJB_rootedstockdeo.zip (from beans - http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=9390225151984926781), but I get no signal. My IMEI is uknown. I've been able to generate a new IMEI file with sgs3.nv.gen, but nv-items_reader_writer won't push it to my phone (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1804123).
While playing around I noticed something odd with the phone in windows explorer (image below). My internal memory and external sdcard seem fine, but the internal sdcard seems hosed. I tried creating a folder and it threw up an error. I'm guessing my partitions are all borked, but I'm not sure how to get them back to normal. Once the phone is back to normal I'm sure I can get my IMEI back in there and everything working again.
I've tried Section 1a and Section 1b from the root66 link above with no luck. I've tried a few other pit files with no luck. They hang on Get mapping for PIT in odin.

ODIN fails when trying to install stock firmware
Hey Guys,
Just joined the forum today, look forward to working with everyone here. I am new to this so please bear with me.
I have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900A) which I had previously upgraded to 5.0 Lolipop. Since I can't seem to root my Lolipop device, I figured I would try downgrading my firmware to KitKat, rooting kitkat, then installing the prerooted lolipop (Does that make sence?)
Ive downloaded and tried versions 3.07 and 3.10 of ODIN. I installed some samsung drivers, assumed they were good since my computer recognized the device. Also made sure the S5 was in debugging mode.
Here is what I get on Odin after running it:

I read that if it fails, you should pull the battery out, restart your computer and/or try a different version. I have tried all of that. I am currently downloading the stock firmware from a different website to see if maybe that is the problem, but figured I would ask the experts whileit's downloading on my slow internet.
Is there anything obvious I am doing wrong? Any suggestions on how to fix this? (or how to root my AT&T S5 5.0 since that is the reason I am doing this all...)
Any help is greatly! Thanks,
Jake
Hey Guys,
So, few months ago I had a problem with my Note 2 being very slow and freezing very frequently after it used to work very well. I decided to make a soft reset followed by a hard reset but the problem was still there. I decided then to flash a stock firmware which I used before and worked well. This time while I was flashing the firmware, the USB cable was removed and from here the coming problems appeared. I am having now a constant loop of the Samsung logo and I can not enter the recovery mode. When I try to enter the recovery mode, it just goes to the logo loop. I tried to flash a stock recovery but it failed and I got the following message:
Code:
<ID:0/003> Added!!
<ID:0/003> Odin v.3 engine (ID:3)..
<ID:0/003> File analysis..
<ID:0/003> SetupConnection..

I tried to flash it using TWRP and I got the same message. Also, when I try to flash the stock firmware, I get a fail message at sboot.img. Managed to make it bypass sboot.img but it got another fail at boot.img. Now it is stuck at this:
Code:
<ID:0/003> Added!!
<ID:0/003> Odin engine v(ID:3.1203)..
<ID:0/003> File analysis..
<ID:0/003> SetupConnection..
I tried two Odin versions (Odin 3 .12 and 3.04). I also tried different USB cables and ports. I am not sure if this may help as well to identify my problem but when I try to charge my battery, I get it stuck at this as shown in the image:

Did i broke it compeletely?
Hi first I would try to flash with old version of odin , for example odin 3.12 or 3.10 not the latest one .
If you are able to boot your phone to download mode is okay , just try another firmware for your region also use latest one !!!
If that doesn't help you try with DBT firmware which is without brand providers : ) ...
Good Luck : )

Hello, I've seen this post https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/samsung-xcover-4-sm-g390-twrp-magisk-t3927209 and I've tried like everything to root the phone. I don't understand a lot of this area so I'm just following everything I see on the article and even on youtube but nothing seems to work. The main problem, as far as I know, is that I've tried used odin 13, even odin 10 and it just doesn't flash on it. So I've searched like why is it always failing and some guy on youtube made a video about opening powershell and try to work from there but it doesn't work anyway. Is it possible to get some help? Or is it just impossible to root? Sorry again cause I'm kinda newbie on this but I've searched so many pages already that I'm probably going go give up soon.
PS: I tried to install twrp and magisk but the only model available is Xcover 3 and not XCover 4, tried also kingo root, odin and the powershell booting. Everything has an error. I already have USB Debugging and OEM activated, of course. Thanks in advance
@duckkz
Because your goal is to get a rooted Android, then take note that neither TWRP recovery nor Magisk framework must get installed ( flashed ) before. You can achieve this with running a couple of ADB / Fastboot command.

To root Android as 1st thing of all things these requirements must be fulfilled

Next step is to install the USB-driver matching your device

I've done what you said. I've gone to the article and used odin v3.13.3 and boot it on the phone. It still gets an error.
