LG is reportedly planning to rejigger its flagship naming scheme – there will be no “LG G7”. Instead, the company will choose a new name for its early 2018 flagship, claims an LG official quoted by Digital Daily.
The G-series traces its roots back to 2012’s Optimus G, a name that was simplified to LG G2 for the sequel. Four generations later, this is coming to an end.
The final name has not been decided yet. “Numbering the phone with a two-digit number and rebranding the phone with a new name are some of the options on the table”.
LG will rename the G-series starting with the phone formerly known as LG G7
What does that mean for the LG V30 successor? Nothing, if the company goes with “LG G70” (two digits, same format as the current V-series), but that leaves a gap - why is the LG V40 so much behind the G70?
Some think this is might be the reason behind LG's desire for new names - numbers make the LG G7 look like an older generation compared to iPhone 8 or Galaxy S9. Such numerology might seems silly, but Samsung did skip the Galaxy Note6 for similar reasons and Microsoft’s Xbox has been all over the place trying to chase Sony’s PlayStation.

Road SMS? send messages while walking safely

We’ve a soft spot for augmented reality (AR) apps and a dislike of walking into lampposts, so Samsung’s new Road SMS app for the LG Optimus GT540 satisfies both our hunger for gimmicks and personal safety. Available exclusively through the Samsung Apps download store on the LG Optimus GT540 – and, we’re guessing, on the Vibrant, Captivate and any other LG Optimus GT540 variant the company pushes out – the Road SMS app basically overlays a QWERTY keyboard on top of a live view from the phone’s camera.
That means you can strut along the street, texting away to your hearts content, while simultaneously keeping an eye out for open manhole covers, angry dogs or stray celebrities. Unfortunately the app itself is pretty basic: all you have is a keyboard, a shortcut to choose the message recipient and a character counter (which seems to want to limit messages to 80 rather than the more usual 160 characters); there’s no way to browse incoming messages or indeed take a photo for an MMS.
Still, as a free gimmick it’s pretty neat, and we imagine someone will soon rip it from the Samsung ROM and offer it on other custom installs for rival handsets. Full demo in the video below.

i did my research with the phones model number and all. so it seems plretty legit. the installed rom does come with korean and english language option of choosing. i was wondering i can root this device the same way you would root a regular samsung galaxy s ii, install custom recovery, flash OTA Rom or custom, etc. what we androidians mostly do with our devices. forgot to mention that it is a cdma phone and if it is possible to unlock to use here in the u.s.
if anyone could shed some light on my current situation, i would highly appreciate it. thanks in advance.
Don't do it.
Apparently, LG U+ SGS2's have some kind of special rom that is difficult to find. I have been living in Korea for a while and happened to get one of these. I'm sure one of the XDA hackers will eventually get around to giving us a good root solution, but until then we are rootless.
BTW - the antenna is for DMB reception. I'm pretty sure the DMB signal is only in Korea though...Maybe in a few years someone will start tinkering with it and get normal TV somehow.

Save to google in Android L. Did it return back?

Hi,
On my old Samsung Ace Plus phone running an older Android version v2.x, I used to read/save contacts directly to google (shown below in picture) because I simply don't wanna save on phone or sim card. For some reason, I didn't find this option on my LG G2 international version thinking that this feature have been removed for some reason from KK4.4.2 which I'm running so I missed it a lot but there was nothing to do about it since I didn't find it also on e.g. Samsung S4 running KK which kinda confirmed to me that it's a KK thing and not mobile dependent.
Is there any one who have seen this feature back on Android L which I'm waiting for, officially, in early 2015?

it's not persistent! I tried it millions of times before but for some mysterious reason, I have to go through the whole boring process of choosing where to save my contact every time I create a new contact!
Tried this?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fjsoft.mylocalaccount
When you create a contact in AOSP 4.4.x it will state "Phone" (local phone account, unsynced) and "Google" as destinations for saving contacts.

lg v30 H933 firmware

Hello, LG V30 H933 users, please send me the first 10 digit of your LG H933 imei, I want to check the firmware for the LG V30 H933.
According to LG official, LG released the firmware for LG H933 on Oct. 21. It is available for download from LG server,
Good luck with that one.
Seems nobody can help with h930/h933 dumps. In other time these would have been available some days ago. Seen that people shouldn't expect much developing.

The H930 still hasn't been officially released. As of October 29 (right now) LG site still shows H930 "preorder" available and UK retailer Carphone Warehouse shows Nov 1 available for H930 on their website.
Someone in this forum got one a few days ago by signing a two year contract through "1&1", but that seems to be the exception.

Once the bootloader is unlocked on the H930 and then the US998, then there will be lots of development. Bootloader unlock has to wait until the devices are added to the LG Developer Bootloader Unlock list.
