Portrait mode is working fine on rear camera.

Is it only for portrait mode? Normal mode is not working for me
What works:
Video recording, front and back cameras
Portrait mode on rear camera
Front camera with regular pictures
Not working:
Hdr+ rear camera is always showing black screen regardless of config.
Portrait mode in front camera(pressing shutter button does nothing)
Switching between front and back cameras makes the app crash
Tested with latest apk(1.4) on nos 8.1 magenta
Logs are attached ( change file extension to .log as file was too large) @Arnova8G2

Yup it is not working... And we try opening it again and again it give fatal error
*one more bug:-
There is lot of lags while viewing or zooming an image in camera after capturing. This is a constant bug which i have seen from beginning. (this is what makes using camera uneasy infront of others)
Hope in fix for this

Hello @Arnova8G2, attached zip file with camera2test full log and 3 logcat of crashes using different settings, each begins with app settings for that crash and what I did to make it crash. Thanks for you hard work!
By the way I am running Cardinal OS official 5.3, Android 8.1, nano opengapps, magisk v 15.2 with busybox

Dear @Arnova8G2, thank you (and BSG) for bringing GCam to our device. I am using your gcam v1.5beta. HDR+ works like a charm. I found bugs is HDR+ doesn't work with front camera and sometime FC when i try to take selfie. Other bug is can swich camera in portrait mod and picture taken from portrait mod in front camera has greenish tint.

Ver 1.4 and 1.5 portrait mode is working well on Nos 8.1. HDR+ works well too except for front cam HDR+ (maybe not supported on our device) only issue I see so far is that the quality of portrait photos isn't as good as regular shots, the camera seems to be using a higher iso for some reason in portrait mode and the pictures come out grainy.

If you are using Nitrogen OS 8.1, go to:
Settings->System->Developer options->Set GPU Renderer
and select: OpenGL (Skia)
This solved the issue for me...

What setting using?
Hello everyone
I'm trying to install Gcam port on my mido (Redmi Note 4) running LineageOS 15.1 but whenever I try to capture a picture from rear camera with HDR or HDR enhanced mode enabled it stops working, It crashes every time while processing HDR+ and also when I try to capture a pic in portrait mode with rear camera. And surprisingly it happens with rear camera only, and works just fine with front camera.
For more information I want to tell you that I already tried enabling HAL3 and Camera2API.
Please help me making it work. PLEASE.

It captures an image after restart, but a very terrible image i should say. colors are not good.

Yes really disappointed with from camera performance but night mod is very good

So can you put in an upscaler which will upscale the video from 1836p to 2160p?? if it is possible then its a great thing, or can you increase the bit rate of the 4K recording, so that it can store details near to native/up scaled 2160p..... btw thanks for taking your time and fixing the camera for Le 2, really appreciate it!!!

How do i use install fix zip file guide me please

Great camera experience, using this as part of PixelExperience. Reporting on 24/12 build, very stable most of the time, but some random tinkering and switching back and forth froze and and eventually force closed the camera. Camera would FC upon reopening and hard reboot reset time and date. Will try to reproduce this and provide logs.
Otherwise, 16MP with 4:3 aspect ratio would be the very sweet cherry on top, maybe there's a chance you can make it fly

Magisk is a software firmwork which helps you to control internal working of the roms, systemlessly....
Magisk Manager is the software which helps you to control Magisk and manage the modules installed.
You need magisk firmwork flashed through a custom recovery before hand, to make Magisk manager work, so that you can add modules and other fixes.....

You need magisk installed before, you can use magisk manager to install the modules.....

Did you try rear portrait mode on a person?? Cause as far as I know, portrait mode works only on people and not on objects....try doing that.... Lens Blur is what you need to blur backgrounds of objects....

Really good mod. I'm running it on LineageOS 15.1 and it works very well (some rare crashes, but mostly when navigating to Photos, not when taking pictures or recording videos). Night sight is a godsend for our device and it's crappy-on-low-light camera.
On the subject of making a great mod even better, do you have any plans to also implement support for slow-motion in this mod?

Slow motion is broken because of the drivers and not the app.
Probably the best Gcam mod around and the only one that is stable on pie roms. So, um will you update this mod anytime soon? Anyway you could add 4:3 16mp 2160p 4K mode? 11.9 mp is good but why isn't the rest of the pixels being used. Potriat mode works perfectly. Sometimes (rarely though) there is a greenish tinge to my photos. Another thing. Can you unlink it from Google photos? I mean on tapping the shot picture, it opens in photos. Can you link that to gallery instead because it takes a lot of time to load google photos on my phone. Also, when I add this app as shortcut on the lockscreen,and try to access it directly without unlocking the phone from lockscreen, it says that there is an error and camera doesn't have proper permissions and that I should grant it all permissions in settings. On checking in settings, all permissions are already granted. Can you look into that ? Otherwise a really great Job. Keep it up!

Install via TWRP. Sometimes magisk doesn't recognize a zip as a magisk module. If you install via twrp magisk will be invoked automatically.
I request Miui Camera mod for the Mi 8 Lite specifically.
There is a mod for the Redmi Note 5 that apparently works on the Mi 8 Lite too, but changes several parameters of the build.prop such as the model and the device's code name. When trying to change them the mod stops working correctly and gives an error message (can not connect to the camera)
There is also GCam, but with some bugs and errors.
Anyone who can make a functional port of the Miui camera for this device?

Install Pixel Expirience CAF last version, install stock miui camera via Magisk and restart phone, replace vendor/lib libmmcamera_platina_imx576_sunny with this lib from zip and disable Hal3 support in vendor/build.prop and restart again. After this steps Miui front camera will work with 24.8mp, also Instagram, messenger etc will work like charm on 24.8mp ....
What about with Gcam? Without HAL3 enabled, it can't be used. Would there be any way for both cameras to work? Personally, I like both applications very much.

For now there is no way to make working both cameras alongside with camera2api and Gcam, another great thing is that I managed to port portrait for back camera and utilize both sensors for depth and main shooter, later I will made thread when i finish my work
