Hello, I wanna port the dual app feature from lenovo k6 power rom which is aosp (nougat) to lineage os 14.1 which I'm currently using. I have extracted the system img file of lenovo's rom. I dont know how to port that feature. I dont want to use apps like parallel space because of so many bugs and lags. I want that feature system wide. Please help me to port. Any help will be appreciated.

Upgrading Ported Custom ROM
Hello everyone here,
By following this thread so far, I've managed to port a custom ROM successfully for my device from existing Base ROM. Kudos to ArjunrambZ for this helpful thread for noobs like me. But both the ROMs are Android 4.1.1 . Now can anyone help me how to upgrade the version(Example: I want to upgrade to Android 4.4.4) of my Ported ROM? I googled a lot but I couldn't find anything useful/understandable for me. Thank you and thanks to KJ for pushing me in the right direction :cyclops:

Nice guide I haven't actually tried this yet but I have a few questions
As far as i knw porting means running a rom on a device for which it was not created
If this is the case why do we copy only specific folders (apps, fonts, media, framework) . from port rom to base rom? So there r still parts of original rom in new ported rom what is work of those parts? And what is work of parts we copied from port rom?
At 1st i thought the remain of base rom which we didn't replace is device specific i.e it contains drivers, etc am i correct?
Plus i have one more query what if i want to port a completely diff version port rom
For example i have a note 2 and i knw there won't be any lollipop release for it
So what if i want to port lollipop to my device since i have base rom as kitkat and port rom as lollipop, is it possible cross version porting?

I was also not able to find app which can do both so now
I had decided about building one for my own in next few week
cause right now I'm busy in another project will do it after I will be free

First off, I have a rooted Panasonic P81 with a MTK-6592 Chip-set maybe, and its rooted(obviously),
So Can someone tell me how do i port a Rom for my device, like i want miui v6 for my Panasonic P81(which is not available currently). And the base rom which you are telling should be of cyanogenmod, but cyanogen is not available for my device! So what base rom should i take? thanks! and should the port be of the same type as the base? i mean like i have a base of cyanogen (just an example) and i have a port of miui then what should i do?

I tried your method and there were a few problems.
I took cosmic rom for galaxy s duos as the base rom.
I didnt see any set perm files in this base rom , so i could not copy.
Not many files were there in init.d of Omnirom 5.1.1 which i used as port rom as compared yo what you have shown in ur tutorial.
I still continued and zipped the rom and it was installed but ,NOW ITS STUCK ON BOOT!!!!!!

I found that all rom for micromax a311 are cyanogen based... I tried lollipop all cm based based roms have same bug on data and network im fed up with it.. Now using miui 8 .. But it is kitkat i want to try lollipop or above.. Without any data or network problem.. Any suggestion
Hi surjit I think your new to to this thing.The answer is in your question... All Android ROMs greater than or equal to Android 5.0 are based on Cyanogenmod.(ONLY applies to devices with no source codes/mtk) Because we have to take a device specific ROM and convert it into a310/11 specific ROM. As most mtk device's with mtk have only cm's official rom,we take it and port it and all other ports are made out of that ported ROM.you'll find all non cm based ROMs to be below Android 5.0 because they are ported from Micromax's stock ROM. They seem to be pretty bugless. Hit thanks if you understood.

What is the most stable ROM for Micromax Canvas Nitro A310? I installed resurrection remix after trying CM13 & I am issues with BT, Wifi & GPS in the RR ROM.

Hi Rajesh,
I think there is no MM ROM out there which completely stable I mean 2/3G switch for dual sim users is a major bug. Though I never faced any bug with GPS on the RR ROM yeah it was slow to lock down but worked. WiFi is not a bug its like this in MM builds for MTK due to lack of source codes.The Best stable ROM which never gave out issues is RR lollipop vr 2 by bikaram007. I use it as a daily driver.
( The bugs are VPN and YouTube 5 second. Which are solved and have a workaround)
Note if you do not find the YouTube 5 second fix ask me to upload it.

AOSP rom was ported by me.... And i had ported many roms like rr5.8.2 and miui but some peoples had problems with me or the roms bcoz of bugs which i was constantly trying my best to fix but they reported my videos as scams and my channel was shut down..... Now i have RR 5.8.5 Nougat rom stable but i m not gonna upload it anywhere.... ....

i have a swipe elite note with 6735 chipset n 3.18.19 kerenel..with marshmallow
found a rom that could be ported to my device...resurection remix rom based on nougat..i am new bee..facing too many problems while trying to port..can assist a little if possible so that i can get working rom to my mobile...
can nougat rom be flashed in system(folder) or with system.new.dat ...and updater script in resurectiom remix is different in relation to i have seen in internet to change mount points...it has like
mount("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/platform/mtk-msdc.0/11230000.msdc0/by-name/userdata", "/data" in
It has no command as dev/mmcbkl0p20 like that(i have seen in internet on other update scripts)...is this normal..i dont have updater script as i have my stock rom in the form of sp flashable tool image format(.img)..

I have Huawei G8 (Emui based android 6) but that form is dead now, so I am posting here for help...
Recently I flashed AEX (4.6) (android 7.1.2) Aosp based rom (Very fast Wide range of functions,background tasks and Xposed works best etc..) that is much better then EMUI stock Rom(hanging, poor exposed, minimum background tasking and slow)...
But the problem is that I totally lost camera result that worries me...
I know it is due to HAL.
So I am thinking Can i Port this AOsp Based Rom over Emui base, I mean I still use all Apps and android 7.1.2 but based on EmUI for best Camera Results but still Aosp Functions and apps???

I've already tried Resurection Remix, LOS16, and many others...
Or maybe using a Oreo ROM + Xposed + VirtualXposed is the only way to do that ?
Because im actually using Parallel Space to clone Snapchat, and i don't really like this app...
