Hello guys i have big troubles with my sony M4. I wanted to root the phone buy of course first i have to unlock the bootloader because it is on 6.0. But then i got Bootloader Unlock allowed: NO. So i tought if i change the firmware using flashtool to 5.0 i can root it using some of the premade rootkits for 5.0 and M4 but i have another problem. The phone is locked by T-mobile and they won't unlock it unless 2 years pass which is for 6 months from now, so if i install another firmware like the commercial 5.0 i think the network will not work right ? So guys do you have any other ideas how can i unlock the bootloader if the status is NO and also keep it locked within the network ? Thanks in advance.

yes I've have unlocked bootloader actually that sim issue started just after unlocking the bootloader , baseband is .71 I'm on stock right nw & yes my sim is unlocked I'm beginning to think that issue is a hardware thing :S
did you resolve problem witch the signal ??
no i didnt :S
Did you flash the A1 kernel before installing this rom.
You unlocked your bootloader with the wrong tool or you unlocked your X10 from another unlocking service than setool , next time read all info before unlocking your bootloader
You can unlock your X10 with setool then you will have the right certificates and it will work
or
you can relock it with the tool the_laser posted in this thread but ofc you won't be able to flash some ROM's
I resolve this problem

I wonder many ppl are facing this same problem after unlocking their bootloader. I reverted to 2.1 fw, unlocked it and restored 2.3 and flashed .71 baseband. Its working fine.

Hey

Regards,
I've been reading all day, yet I still don't have it quite clear.
My phone can not unlock the BL, therefore regardless how many firmwares I will flash it I won't be able to remove branded apps, right? because I need it rooted to remove the apps I don't want.
On the other hand, If I get a code to remove the sim lock when the time comes and the BL may be unlocked, will I be able to unlock the BL, I read in a post something that confused me regarding unlocking the sim by a code from a internet provider, but don't remember where.
Thank You
I got mine networked unlocked and the bootloader is still locked. From my understanding it does not change it to yes by unlocking sim. I have only seen 2 people who said this method worked for them compared to the dozens that tried with no luck.
the only way to have your xperia rooted is through the unlocking BL and flashing rooted kernel or rooted system.img at this time. I suppose in the future there will be more options of doing it, so maybe that will solve your problem of locked BL.
i don't know if there is still the testpoint method for the xps.. but if yes you could try that .. should work afaik.. and if not then just wait for another root method

nope in the xps dosen't work, but i think if you connect the unused usb pin 4 and 5 with a resistance of 301k may come with something, idk if it works becose the 301k is hard to find

I have done already, two actually, the CE1 Generic and the NL Generic(because I heard of the speed).
Before I flash them I got from Antutu 6580
When I flashed the CE1 lower to 6520
And with the NL 6460 and now is 6634
But still some of the apps that came with the phone are still there, seems like the only way to get rid of them is only rooting.
I can't wait to get a way to do it.
By the way does anybody knows of a North America firmware for the LT26i, I can not find one. I live in El Salvador and I want my phone with a firmware for Latin America or the States, main reason is Google Voice another is that if I want to buy something from the Google Play the prices appears in Euros €.

I use unlocked phone, but I guess you can go to sonymobile.com and use sony bootloader unlock to get a code for unlocking your bootloader, although since u have a branded phone you may need a code from your career. when you got the code use fastboot to unlock it. other than these, if you just want root, flash your phone with flashtool to any rom you like. you dont need any bl unlocking for this and you still get the updates from sony. you dont even need any code from career or sony. since xperia S is new there might not be any prerooted rom so be patient and let the xda developers play around to find a way.
Hello, the code desimlockage operator does not allow unlocking

Antutu ratings fluctuate hugely on their own, test three times in a row and you probably wont get the same result each time.
Use Quadrant as your standard
I think you should wait for another way of rooting

You can only flash stock based ROMs with a locked bootloader.
If you wanted to flash custom ROMs or kernels, you needed to buy a SIM Free, carrier free phone.
There is no way to unlock your bootloader.
thanks for the reply, i dont mind a stock based rom but i cant even get root

You can easily get root without an unlocked bootloader.

Please anyone who have the Stock 5.0
26.1.B.3.109_R6A Saudi Arabia
Please send me
I'm now using 26.3.B.0.131
My problem is i unlocked my bootloader then activated My Xperia then i decided to hard reset so i deleted the system(I'm so stupid). I installed Marshmallow using flashtool from other country. My Rooting Status was unlockable before i deleted the system and now its Rooting Status:Unavailable, i can't flash Recovery, unlock bootloader, root officially. I want to go back to Lollipop to fix it. Should i use Xperia Companion or should i Upgrade to newer version or downgrade to Lollipop
And i have a problem with my sim slot 1, it won't read any sim card. If i use only the slot 2 it work but when i use slot 1 only or Both slot it won't work
I just want to Root that's all but fixing the Rooting status is better I'll pay $100
I can pay for $50 if rooted
Dual Sim variant
Please help asap
Thanks

the unlock tool itself supports all kinds of xz1. but i've heard that the xz1 sov36 version got no signal problem after using the paid unlocking software.
about the bootloader no to yes possibility by flashing global rom, i guess there's 50/50 chance here. some say they finally got yes, some say no. in my experience, i would say not really since the "No" option is embedded in the hardware itself

haha, don't lose hope my friend. i used a program to change that for my xz1 701so. unfortunately, it's paid and costs around $30. this will also help for simlock devices
that's why i'm still a loyal sony fan. with sony’s supporting aosp, i think i'd never leave sony ecosystem
this program should be viral to people who want to root their sony phone but use japan version. so we can increase more people in developing more rom for sony phones.

But, Im a nomadic backpacker so . . Im glad i can unbrick it, now i will just live with it

I don't want my $30 "unlock" to be such a waste though....
