kernel update
A notice for the upcoming weekly:
The kernel has been updated to a new version. This requires an updated odm image, which Sony has supplied here
Please note that the zip is not flashable, simply unpack it then flash the img file inside using "fastboot flash oem <img_file>"
If you update to the weekly of 20180128, when it's released, then you MUST flash the new odm image, otherwise you'll end up with issues like a nonfunctional camera.
I have installed this rom, I think is the perfect rom for xzs...
but...
can you add feature for dual sim variant? Work only one sim card...
Can you add feature double tap to wake screen?
Thanks you a lot...
I'm using this on a G8232 with Singapore firmware. The 20180204 build works but any other subsequent build does not. Has the FTF been updated or something after 20180211?
fingerprint sensor issue
It`s a great rom i have ever used, but it still have problem on fingerprint sensor, hope can fixed, thank you!
If the rom can use sony original camera and be fixed the dual sim problem, I think it will be the greatest rom I have seen in xzs_forum
Can't seem to use VPNs? OK button for the connection request is unresponsive
EDIT: It was a different third-party app interfering

How easy to flash back to stock ROM
Hi, I'm interested in installing this ROM.
I've a little experience rooting and flashing stock ROMs via Fashtool (To get the right firmware for rooting)
I'm just wondering how easy would it be if I wanted to flash back to stock ROM??
If I backup with twrp before installing Omni, will it be as simply as just restore the ROM via twrp to get back to full stock condition?
I just wanted to know my option before going ahead to flash the ROM.
Thanks in advance!!

ROM can't be installed
Today I wanted to give this ROM a try but it won't install. I've flashed through TWRP and have the patched bootloader, but the script doesn't install the ROM. I've attached a screenshot from TWRP to show my issue. The Log says "Unmount of /system failed; no such volume" but a few lines above the script pushes SuperSU to /system.
Btw, my device is D722

I wasn't 100% if twrp could now do radio images and bl's like it can vendor images now. And I'm not sure what that bit of numbers stands for after you typed know
The point of my question was to answer his question as to why the op says to boot into the bootloader in the op, he offers the BL and radio in IMG form, not flashible..
My stating obviously, was to your stating you can get flashables for twrp for the radio.

Nope didn't misunderstand you, I answered why it specifically states in the op to go into the BL. Its under the assumption that you need to update all IMG files.
If you don't need to update your BL or radio using the files he provided. Then yes, you can flash just the vendor image however you want.

Not sure if it's compatible with the (Single SIM -- Keyaki) G8231 version.

Currently I would recommend to use this file from Chainfire to root your rom.
"download.chainfire.eu/supersu"
For me the Version "SR5-SuperSU-v2.82-SR5-20171001224502.zip" worked well.
You only have to flash it with your TWRP recovery.
___
Also I would recommend to use the newer opengapps. They didn't made any problems to my phone.
"opengapps.org"
___
Finally I'm usign this rom for weeks now and had no big problems. I like this build.
Also I have to mention that there's a charging problem on my phone. It works often only after a reboot. The phone shows the charging symbol, but doesn't charge.
Good work!!
waiting for more update
Any updates? I would love to use this rom

Use the one for Xperia XZ works like charm!!
Thanks for confirming. I was hesitant as first, but listening to strangers on the internet (hehe) made me try it and it worked!
I can't get Google Play Services and the play store to work. I tried 'force rebooting' (by holding vol+ and power until the phone vibrated three times in a row then booted it back up) but it still keeps getting stuck on "checking info" when I open the app. Tried using an apk from ApkMirror as well but that didn't work either. Any solutions?
please update rom ;(

Hi,
Can you please help me with the download from the GSI? Where can I get the right file from?
after install, bluetooth and settings tell me that it stops all the time and sim cant be detected. Also there is some encryption so i can't access data or system anymore with twrp... even magisk can't be installed. great...
After running into a ton of errors, I think I've done something wrong. I have a few questions:
1. Where does Disable ForcedEncryption (DFE) go to in the installation process? If I flash the zip before Lineage (or not flasing at all), the phone encrypts itself right on boot. If I flash DFE zip after Lineage, the camera (and all the sensors) die permanently.
2. Regardless of the phone's encryption status, sometimes the phone just fails to recognize all the sensors (except Wifi, battery and GPS). That means no accelerometer, no screen rotation, no compass or light sensor. Rebooting fixes this on Lineage (for a while), but on RR once it occurs all sensors die permanently. Also GPS reception is terrible, as I haven't got a single fix.
Hope anyone who has been using Treble roms could give me an answer. Thanks in advance.

This version of LOS is outdated and does not work on latest Treble.
An updated LOS build (with Expanded volume and latest security patch) can be downloaded on this thread and installed over latest Treble.

You can use Chippa_a's Unofficial LOS16 instead. That one has some heating issues and gaming performance might not be optimal (due to CPU throttling), but camera and battery life is almost identical to stock. In fact, I only use Treble LOS as daily driver because I play games on my phone quite a lot.
If you still insist on using Treble however, you can check out Google Camera ports (scroll down a little bit on Treble page). With HDR+ or Night Mode the picture quality is stellar, but taking pictures might be a bit slow. As far as I know it only runs on Treble and Omni.

Yeah I am using the gcam port and I get pretty good pictures with it but not very good video quality so I guess I'm gonna give it a try to Chippa_a's Unofficial LOS16.
Analogous to my other projects I present here a custom ROM on stock basis. This ROM is based on the 10.0 DBT FW. It is not supposed to become something big. Actually it was only meant for me, but I thought, maybe it would help some of you who don't want to flash the FWs with Odin.
The ROM is mostly "stock-alike" because I'm no friend of "heavy modifications" anymore.
Neither I nor XDA is responsible for any damage to your device. You flash it at your own risk!
Before you start, make a Nandroid(Backup) of your system. Safe is safe!

my FW (Zip)
are familiar with the matter of flashing:winki:
How to get Root?
You have to patch the TWRP yourself
Alternatively i can provide the patched TWRP see latest twrp file above
Pictures
None, since everybody knows the Stock FWs
Download
Stock ROM Q 10.0 (AndroidFileHost)
Download Modem/Bootloader
Flashable_T510_Firmware (flash it through recovery - follows next!!)
How-To flash:
Place the Zip on the internal or better external memory.
Boot into Recovery -> Hold Vol. Up at restart
--> Fullwipe if coming from another ROM
Then click on install in TWRP
Searches the folder where you put the Zip in
And flash them now by clicking on the zip and dragging the slider to the right at TWRP
Then reboot -> Reboot to System = Boot with Magisk!
The reboot with a fullwipe usually takes a while - can take up to 10 minutes. So keep calm.
Troubeshooting
If you got an bootloop or it stays on samsung logo, make a fullwipe. Otherwis it wont boot correctly into root partition.
I had the same problems. Only a fullwipe solved it.

MOD EDIT : No need to quote the ENTIRE first post ...
Does this rom lag or feel sluggish to you?
Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
Not more like on Stock. Samsung didnt made a good job with this Tab. It feels more sluggish as on my old Tab A 2016. Maybe its the SoC or the OneUi stuff.
No problem here, using it with custom kernel with oc and everything works fine. As fast as nexus stock

Update to Q-based BTFN FW.

Rebased auf XXU3BTFN Android 10.0 (Security Patch vom 01.07.2020)

Read Troubleshooting in OP!
Thanks for the update.
I am currently using your v1.0 (Android 9).
To update to v2.0 (Android 10) i have to flash stock rom XXU3BTFN first and repeat the procedure to patch TWRP, flash TWRP, flash multidisabler ...?
does the rom work with the T510N version also?
@seppfx
Yepp, you need latets bootloader and twrp etc. Otherwise it won't boot.
@AndroSysQ
Im not confirm what's the difference between both models.

from what i have read it has 3GB instead of 2GB ram and 64GB instead of 32GB storage.
I think the rest of the internal components are the same.
It is the wifi(T510/T510N) version and not the LTE(T515/T515N)
Hmm try it out if you want. I don't guarantee it will work. If so, it could be that it show not the correct Infos about your tab, ram, emmc etc.
@seppfx
You can push the twrp inside the AP_ file, delete recovery.img and rename twrp to this one. So you don't have to format Data again.
I'm on Android 10. And as you know that TWRP version is T510XXS3ATE3 and TWRP is still not available for T510XXU3BTFN So how am I suppose to do all these stuffs. Can I flash your file through TWRP on Android 9 ?
Please clear my doubts.
No, you must be on android 10, as i said before. Flash Magendanz TWRP. There is a q twrp in his thread.
Can you please post a link of that TWRP ? I'm unable to find that.
Take a look at here.
