Caller Announce

Is there any way to enable this option? I've updated to the latest 12070 and although I still can't see it in the ease of use menu
Can't believe something as simple as this is missing, my N97 had it.
I believe your lumia should have it but some carriers have decided to remove the feature:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsphone/en-us/howto/wp7/basics/use-speech-on-my-phone.aspx
To turn on Speech for accessibility, tap SettingsSettings icon > Ease of access, and then turn on On iconSpeech for phone accessibility. This enables the following:
•
Talking caller ID for phone calls. When you get a call, your phone will announce the name or number of the caller.
To have your phone announce and read incoming text messages, tap Settings > Speech, and then turn on On icon Play audio confirmations. Tap Read aloud incoming text messages, and then choose when you want to hear the announcements—all the time, or only when using a Bluetooth and/or a wired headset.
3
When your phone announces an incoming text, you can say "Read it" or "Ignore." Then you can dictate and send a reply.
Notes:
Speech may not be available in your country or region.

That's from the MS Page.
So assuming that's the case, if I de-brand the phone the phone I should get the option back?
I was looking for a similar thing. My European 059J3G4 (RM-801 EU NDT EURO1) Lumia 800 doesn't have the option under settings either. And I'm pretty sure this is unbranded.
Speech options are only available in English... Put your phone in English and you should have the options.

It is in english, I've tried flashing to stock nokia firmware and now the menu option has completely dissappeared!
Is it possible to registry edit the phone to reveal the option?
I have discovered that this feature was removed in the European version of the firmware, would it be safe for me to flash a US region version to my European phone or is this risky due to hardware differences?
Does anyone have any further suggestions? Nokia are giving me the run around.

Windows Phone Tango Update -region SloveniaEU

Finally after 30 min trials with this method I got the Tango udate on my HTC Mozart.
On the Phone:
1. Wi-Fi switch off
2. Cellular / Data connection switch off
3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NgK0eM7X3s&feature=player_embedded
After 50 times trying I got version 7.10.8112.7
Now repeat step 3.
...and after 3 times trying I got the version 7.10.8773.98
But without many features:
- no Slovenian keyboard
- no Slovenian display language
- no SMS/Atach Item / VOICE NOT
- no Export contacts to SIM
- no Network Call settings for Call forwarding
(forward all calls,when i don´t answer,when i am busy....)
- no Network SMS settings for Character set
- no GPS Location alert icon
......
So just adding more pictures in messaging...?
I don´t understand this upadate or Tango. Frustrated.
:crying:
Do you have a better explanation of what's in the video? very hard to see what is happening there, is it turning data off on PC connection?
head to this article to get easy steps
how to force zune player for tango update
In the video, you see how to disconnect the Ethernet Network Adapter after you pressed the Update.
I restored my HTC Mozart back to the version of Mango and then using the same method back to Tango 7.10.8773.98
Again, same song.
During the installation has been written you get this feature Export contacts to SIM.
But again I did not get It and some others....well.
Is this the fault of our region or forced update...
I don´t know.
Microsoft will have to explain.
(OK, all languages for keyboard and display are not yet available in Tango)

Updated my russian Mozart with the same method.
I have full Russian support
-SMS attach is present, but voice note is missing.
-Export contacts to SIM is missing
-"Network" tab in Settings menu (like in this video) is missing too (so does enhanced call forwarding / character set)
-GPS icon is missing too
Maybe you don't have Slovenian support because of Microsoft doesn't have Slovenian language package yet.
It seems to me that this is not only an independent problem
Even in Germany they have some problems with Nokia to
-export contacts to SIM and
-GPS Location alert icon
http://answers.microsoft.com/de-de/...bb?msgId=43842048-d080-462f-b75c-bd4f69ed6f51
And on the website of Windows Phone "Help and how-to / Browsing + maps"
for GPS Location alert icon says "This icon might not appear on all phones and depends on your phone manufacturer."

Voice to text greyed out on gear s keyboard

The microphone icon is greyed out on my gear s keyboard and I can't use voice to text which was a great feature on my gear 2 for sending quick texts. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I'm sure it isn't this but. ... If you're disconnected from the phone you'll need mobile data enabled on the G S
Also look in the keyboard settings in the gear s settings/language menu.
Sent from my SM-T320 using Tapatalk
I'm connected to my phone 99% of the time with Bluetooth and have my mobile data set to auto. Went through keyboard settings on gear s and didn't find anything
And you've already opened and set up S-Voice on the connected phone?
Yes, I use s voice frequently on my phone
In the watch settings for Keyboards and Input do you have the Samsung keyboard selected?
Yes and the microphone is greyed out on all 3 of the Samsung keyboards on the device
(Fix) microphone greyed out
I had this same issue... Samsung was no help. The problem is that the default language on the Gear S doesnt match your default language on your phone.
On the watch... you can't manually change the default language under settings-language and input. On your phone... go to settings-language and input. Check the very top bar. That language needs to be set to United States or another language that s-voice recognizes. In my case, the watch was stuck on (Canada) but my Note 3 didn't have a "Canada" option.
Assuming that you are using a Samsung phone...download Language Enabler from the Play Store...load English United States and set as your default. The watch will automatically change and everything will work. Hope that helps.
That app needs root unfortunately but I do see that the language on the gear s is English Canada and in the s voice app on the phone it is English us
Any other ideas?

I'm having the same issue as you. Wish there was an answer to this.
Me 2, still haven't figured it out
OK, here is the solution.
When I was having the same issue, my phone language was set to English (Australia), S Voice on my phone was set to English (US), language on my watch was set to English (Australia) and S Voice on my watch was set to English (AU). I changed them all to English (US) as there is no English (AU) for S Voice, and the mic works.

I have changed everything to English us but on the watch it won't let me change the language, it says English Canada but you can't select it to change it.
I think there are 2 different gear s models, the sm-r750w which is for Canada and the sm-r750 for the US which might explain why I can't change the language on the watch, even tried a factory reset with no luck.

Thanks, this solved it for me, except I used English UK for all settings and now works fine. this was driving me mad and wishing I had an Android Wear based watch. Still S Voice has a bit to go to be as good as Google Now/Voice.
I am new here but have switched all electronics to Samsung and good so far although I am having the same problem. I tried to switch the language to english UK except on s voice on gear s as it does not show up as a language option. I tried to go to gear app on my note 4 and download the uk option and it does not show up in the Samsung app? Is there a way to find it or is there another language that will support the mic option?
Thanks!

Mate 20 Pro and Android Auto Call Dialer Bug details

As detailed here (rebuild url by removing spaces);
www. reddit. com/r/Huawei/comments/9w5vwc/huawei_mate_20_pro_android_auto_dialer_bug
It seems the bug stemmed from a missing Voicemail Option settings on the current version (126 and previous ?) of the EMUI.
Looking at my Mate 20 Pro, the Voicemail settings cant be found.
Thus from Android Auto app, an attempt to read the System Voicemail setting will cause program to throw an EXCEPTION error. Now, how do we fix this ?
Disable permissions for contacts and call log worked for me as a temporary fix.
I'm confused as if I press and Hold 1 from the dialler it connects me to my Carriers Voicemail as expected, and that's not something I manually configured.
NB haven't tested with Android Auto as I don't use it
NB I can also reconfigure by going to Call Settings| More| VoiceMail Where there are 4 options
Service Provider : Configured as "My Network Provider"
Voicemail number : configured as "901"
Notification Sound : Select
Vibrate On/Off
O2 UK provided M20P on .122 FW
Edit Add: Just installed Android Auto and starts , runs & seems to work as expected
NB also noticed you referred to the .126 FW which some peeps seem to be getting instead of .122

You are lucky Your version of the firmware provide Voicemail options. I tried looking for mine via press and Hold 1 on the Phone Dialer and viola -- No Voicemail settings i can set to . I also tried to look for it via search on the Android Settings Menu and there is none. Is it a telco activated option or is it because we have a different version of the firmware ?
Also, i did that "remove all the SIM cards" thingy to test if Android Auto will not crash when the dialer is clicked - viola -- Android Auto did not crash.
Now, how do i get Voicemail activated on my side ? hmmm
ok, here is my not so great Android Auto Dialer Bug QUICK FIX
I used TWO (2) SIM cards, 1st one is a Data Only SIM card with no Telephony service placed at slot1 of the Mate 20 Pro. 2nd one is my primary telephony sim card attached in Slot #2.
Settings:
All Data Access on Sim Card 1
Telephone Calls default on Sim Card 2
I discovered that Android Auto will always check which sim card with internet settings and will attempt to get telephony settings from there and since there is no telephony service on Simcard 1, Android Auto will skip the Voicemail setting retrieval and will proceed to display the dialer
From there, i can now initiate the call via Sim Card 2

From your other post I see you have a dual SIM version, maybe that explains the FW version difference.
Question :
Was your phone :
a) bought SIM Free Outright
b) Carrier/Telco provided with contract
If a) then I would have expected it to have all the options avaialble and be unrestricted.
if b) then it may be that your carrier/telco has deactivated some settings to make you pay extra for features.
Do you have Voicemail with your carrier ?

Bought it SIM Free.
I think the telco provider has disabled it but my previous phone which is a Huawei P10 (transitioned to Mate 20 pro a week ago) has Voicemail settings in it
UPDATE:
I recently got a PATCH update from Huawei for Mate 20 Pro FW .126 Patch 02 and VoiceMail options are there and Android Auto Dial Bug is now FIXED
Also, i dont have to remove call log and contact permissions from AA. It is now working as expected
Okay guys, this is an error due to the way the firmware is installed. It all comes down to the carriers and their software. Using the M20 pro on vodafone, AA crashes, doesn’t even start. I’m returning that phone and going with EE, and i forgot AA crashes, tried it just now and it works fine. It’s all to do with the default voicemail setting the carriers have. Also making a voicemail request by holding 1 may work for people having the crash.
Deleted VM no and re added works perfectly now
Happy user!!!
Which means previous versions of the EMUI tend to be buggy on the Voicemail settings. Either a reset of VM for those with the settings available and a f/w upgrade for those without VM options on their phone.

I just tried this and it also appears to be working when opening AA on the phone and going to dialler, just have to try in the car now and fingers crossed it will work.
*edit*
Just tried it in the car and all good also. Who needs the patch lol

Amazfit GTR 2 caller ID bug

If your watch show only caller number and contact name as "unknown contact", try to set phone language to english.
I set phone language to english (from slovak language) and watch show caller ID correctly.
After set phone language back to slovak, watch show again "unknown contact".
I sent in-app feedback, hope they fix it in some future update.
(Sorry my english)
Hello. Language was already in English on my phone and could not get the contact name on the watch when I was receiving calls. I tried several language changes as you proposed and got back to English, but still no "contact name" displayed.
I finally solved the problem by disconnecting the bluetooth and pairing again the watch with BT. The moment the pairing is required on the phone, there is a small box to tick just below asking if you allow the contact details to be transfered with the BT connection. I checked the box and now I'm having contact name displayed on my GTR2 when phone rings
I have the same issue with GTS 2 on my Iphone, specifically Whatsapp calls can't identify a caller, while the name shows after the call is done in Notifications. Anyone knows how to solve this issue plssss?
