I just got an update notification on my Verizon V30 and it's 926MB in size. Typical monthly security updates are only 200 or 300 MB. It's going through the update process now. I'll report back what it actually ends up being.
Anyone else get a update this large recently?
UPDATE: This ended up being a security patch. Software version is VS99610e
I just got mine today too....all the changelog says is security patch.....pretty big file for just security patch

Security updates on the V30 are around 750MB or so what i saw in other threads (so is the one i could do, but wont do because it would ruin my rooted setup of my european H930)
Major version updates are way bigger though (people with korean devices reported around 1.8GB or so i think)
Where are you seeing the change log? Verizon's web-site still says the latest is 10c. This new update is 10e.

The message that popped up and asked you to install it (or not). Where it told you the size, new firmware number and so on.

Have not found the change log, but I can tell you a few minor UI changes. 1) The arrow\carrot that showed up on the left of the nav bar to minimize is now a dot. 2) UI now shows the % of charge animation when put on a wireless doc (kind of like the samsung devices) and a sound 3) looks like the font has changed on at least 1 of the AODs

My US998 V30+ is downloading 10c right now.
I could have sworn it said it was over 1GB. I probably misread it.
But it is taking a hell of a long time for less than 200MB.
Where are these downloads saved?

You are right -- taking a tremendous amount of time for 187MB.
My wife's V30 is downloading also.

Mine is downloaded, waiting for me to coninue it.
I have a work project tonight and I need an app on the phone for it. Maybe later.
Reading other threads, I see updates for this phone should be coming from LG, not the carrier.
I'm pretty sure mine is coming from Verizon. US99810c
I still can't register it with LG. I've only had it a week. Need one more before they catch up. So I've read.
Is there any way to see the file that was downloaded before the update completes? I can't find it.

Installed the update this morning.
Phone does seem to respond better.
I thought it was slightly laggy before.
I wonder if this fixes the garbled texts from Verizon?
Does anyone know if this update breaks the ability to use adb commands? I have been changing the display size via adb because I like my display size smaller than the setting allows. There is no option for smallest width in developer settings but you can still change it with adb. All I want to know is if this update breaks that functionality

I've seen this before in other Android devices.
While this isn't a complete explination, it's what I've come to know
Like other smartphones, Android phones use an ambient light sensor to automatically adjust your phone’s display brightness. This often doesn’t work too well.
It’s up to each Android phone’s manufacturer to correctly calibrate the auto-brightness feature, and they generally don’t do an amazing job. The phone may go from too bright to too dim without anything in between.
Lux is a third-party app that allows you to easily calibrate your phone’s brightness sensor, saving you battery power and reducing eye strain if your phone is normally too bright in dark rooms.

Mine does that when I'm low on signal from the tower, mostly in my office which is in my basement.
I believe it does that to save battery trying to keep the cell connection up, but I could be wrong.

Has anyone tried to adjust the height of the keyboard in landscape mode? I find it too scrunched down. The settings has a slider to raise or lower it, but I can't get the slider to work in landscape mode. I think it might be a little bug. Works fine in portrait..
I'm currently using the TMO variant of the V10 (H901), and the smart lock does not seem to work when using the trusted places option. I have tried deleting all my trusted locations and re-enabling them. I have tried turning the location settings on and off. Nothing seems to help. Smart lock works fine when I have my bluetooth headset connected. Has anyone else had this issue? Any ideas what I could try to fix it? Thanks in advance.

The 'adb reboot bootloader' will only reboot it, and it does not bring up the bootloader.
How do you get into bootloader? Power + volume down does nothing.
AT&T just pushed out an update. Did they kill rooting?

Assuming you have USB Debugging checked under Developer Options,
First open "My Computer".
Watch under your Local Disk drive(s) in My Computer when you plug the phone via USB to see some kinda drive with an LG logo popping.(Beware it will disappear after a few seconds)
Once it shows then click on it; another window will open up with a few folders and files..
Look for the folder with the keyword SWUpdater in the folder name (or something close to that name).
Install the SWUpdater driver software found in it.
P.S: If it doesn't show the LG Logo type drive when you connect the phone to your computer, leave it connected then go to your notification on the phone. Click on "USB Connected" and switch between "MTP" and "PTP". That will force the LG to show under My Computer.
I did that using Windows 7 for my Verizon V10. Good Luck!!!

When using the camera app with the front camera, what is the slider at the bottom of the screen that goes from 0 to 8? Also with the ffc (in settings) , what does the icon with 2 faces (they're either facing the same way, or opposite ways) do?
So, my OK Google was saying that there was no mic, so I figured I'd uninstall and install it from the play store. Only now, the extra settings are gone. Like, the settings to say OK Google from any screen and the lock screen as well. Only option is to say it within the app. Is there any way to fix this? I'm on T-Mobile, rooted stock
Not sure if this has been mentioned, but has anyone noticed the colors on the screen occasionally going kind of greyed out.. Like lighter and more grey than usual, almost sort of inverted or grey scale, but not entirely? Its not a huge deal and it doesn't seem to last long, but happens sometimes. I haven't pinned down if it has a cause, or if it's just my phone or what. I wanna say it mainly happens outside in daylight rather than inside at night, but I'm not positive. Anyone noticed it also?

What a shame of Oppo.

Unfortunately due to the software restrictions the phone is practically rubbish and useless. It had the potential to the best phone but oppo really know how to screw a brilliant innovative phone.

The 5 start limitations is on the Chinese version
Which means you only get notifications from 5 apps. On the global version its limited to 9 apps.

Not really. If you have fcm installed with Google, then you don't need auto start to receive notification on global version.

Yes. As long as fcm is supported for the app. Most apps in Google play supports fcm.
Fcm is the notification system used by Google.

I assume you're using global version? I asked this particular question but all users confirmed its limited to 9 apps. So I was very disappointed but if you have tried this yourself then do please confirm

It may be right. But system with fcm doesn't require an app in background to receive notification ..

This is the usual way Xiaomi releases firmware for the Mi9. It’s been like this for the last year that every other firmware is more like a beta and only a limited number of users will get it, then after some time there is an update or it will be pushed out as OTA again.
I’m not that picky, I can tolerate the odd bug, so I have set to get early update notification in the settings.
So if you see the notification and you want early updates, don’t wait as it often will get pulled.
I don't have your problem after upgrading firmware from 11.0.8.0 to 11.0.9.0
My ROM is PE+ 10 wo Edxposed.

I was able to solve the Google Pay problems by clearing all data of the google pay app
At me everything works as it should. I even have a feeling that I have longer battery life (I hope it's not a placebo effect )
I was expecting a wallpaper fix but it's still the same, once dark mode is activated the stock 24 hours wallpaper automatically turns to night time. I haven't noticed any bug so far, and battery life seems to be the same.
After this update TWRP is unavailable. A MIUI screen instead (rebbot / wipe / assistant). Magisk also removed.
I just installed it via the OTA file because the update wasn't available on my device
I'll check if I see any differences with the battery life
I just got a message saying that I can't see the changelog because my account is not allowed to do is, because I flashed it by myself but it's okay
Google Pay works without any issues here
I have had this update for a couple of days now and I haven’t found anything that bothers me. Battery time is a bit better, instead of 55% left at the end of the day I now have 65% left. This gives a couple of extra hours before it runs out of juice the next evening if I don’t fill up. Not much but still, good to see.
For me, battery is better, but I'm experiencing occasional stuttering, choppiness and lags while scrolling content, it isn't related to the app, it happens in Chrome, Play Store, Mi Browser, etc... This didn't happen on 11.0.8.0. They've probably changed something in the way cpu is boosting, which is probably causing longer battery and occasional stuttering in content scrolling.

I see this happen only if I enable anti-flicker under the display settings. I do not use this as I do not like what it does to colours, but I was just trying out some settings just for fun!
For me it was most noticeable in Chrome but was present in other apps too.

This option is already disabled for me. So that's not it. It seems like it's slow because it's dynamically loading images. When I navigate to a web page it is extremely choppy while scrolling until the entire page loads. After it does load, it scrolls fine. I did not experience this issue while on 11.0.8.0.

well, im from Portugal and the update notification popup came around 7 P.M. today...i will update it now but since im rooted and using twrp i will need to do a reflash of the 11.0.9.0 in MiFlashTool and then update to MIUI12 with all stock. Here's the screen:

There is still bug in dark mode.
In some apps looks wrong. Opera browser for example. And status bar icons are Black in allready dark background.

i have strange issue: when i try to send a picture from the gallery to someone with whatsapp, i have a short message: "unsupported format"....

Here's the biggest change for me - took my phone off charge yesterday morning at 9am, didn't use it, checked it around 12noon - 95% battery life. Updated the phone last night then did the same today, 61% battery life. Something wrong there!
I can confirm. Huge battery drain in this update!
But i was using super wallpaper. I will try normal wallpaper.
And one more thing. Google assistant still not fixed. Keeps opening by itself.
Also there is a issue that there is no more possible to uninstall "com.mi.globalbrowser" package through adb shell, only disable.
When I have tried to uninstall from adb shell I get error "Failure [1000]".

well, 24 hours with MIUI 12 and bugs until now are almost none, battery life are amazing, way better than V11.0.9.0 - the last one.
Only bug is inside chrome app, the 3 dot menu in the left are too dark almost dont see, and with snapchat while using dark mode (dark mode in phone not the app since there's no dark mode for snapchat) the text of the settings and so one are white, cannot see them at all.
My bank app are dark pink background with black accents and they are in light pink and grey now, is like a negative of the original colors...nothing special, i can use the app anyway.
Otherwise i can complain about...its solid, but they can improve little things like dark mode, the way they trying to push every app to use it are ruining the experience.
I noticed too that battery life is lot better than before miui.. so i think this can be now used
After updating yesterday my phone started locking up by itself and flickering lockscreen (until rebooting) shortly after boot.
Couldn't figure what was wrong so did complete wipe and during reinstalling managed to pinpoint the problem to WorkingHours app.
It's an excellent time tracker that I've been using for quite some time, but something doesn't seem to play well with MIUI 12.
Anyone have an idea what might be going on?
Settings Missing
Hi all,
I was excited to update yesterday to MIUI Global 12.0.1 and see some settings to be missing.
For one I don't have the option to change the battery icon in the Status bar because the Status bar entry in the display settings is just not there!?!!
Also the data plan settings seem to have vanished for me. I can't tell if that's all but it seems odd to me. Did anybody else notice something like that?

i'm interested in the camera changelog, hopefully the pro mode contains manual video. But I'm still hesitant to update, I'll let you guys be the early adopter to find critical bugs.
I set notification shade back to android but somehow still can't see buttons on Gmail notifications to start actions right away, am I missing something?
file manager has ads and i cant disable those? thats not good.

im usin EEA because im from Finland. Region is china and i cant change it? is it normal.. language is finnish ofc.
EDIT: i need fastboot image of latest EEA. then i could change also region?
Can someone help?! I had the MIUI 12 option for two days in update settings but I was waiting for today because I have more time to set it up, now when I go it says no update available??

searching "Sony 61.1.A.4.78" on google. Maybe they copied the old changelog even for this one. dunno.

This seems to be the original source. If I managed to translate correctly, one comment mentioned improved battery life. Looking forward to that, , the battery life on my 5 III is far from decent.
I got the update on my phone the only thing that seems to be changed is that it include the latest March security patch and I don't know if PS5 controller support was in android 12 from the beginning or not but now the controller paring menu has been changed and it now include PS5 controller as well.
The UI still doesn't has full android 12 theming support as well as the inconsistency in Xperia launcher and the annoying gap on the top right corner is still present.
PS does anyone know how to adjust the gap in the top right corner or disable the permission indicator all together?
I'm using XQ-BC72 version 61.1.A.2.211 but it doesn't have call recording

Call recording is not legal in various country from what i remember and latest privacy rules enforced this really hard, then maybe it was removed from some fw in various zones.

PS5 controller support has been there since the 1st Android 12 update.

The Google Photos app has received updates, but unfortunately it has not been resolved yet.
This release schedule is seriously pissing me off, why is the us customized the last release like a month later, FFS!
US model updates are running months behind. I'm starting to think that this phone has serious bugs and Sony would rather that this model fade from memory ASAP. Everyone complains that YouTube pauses and unpauses itself. Many phones rebooted constantly after enabling fingerprints with the original firmware. I don't think it ends there.
I'm getting weird touchscreen and fingerprint reader behavior in several apps. OsmAnd~ causes the phone to constantly unlock itself. The phone unlocks itself when the fingerprint reader is bumped at least twice a day. The lock screen is constantly getting stuck on despite all my efforts to adjust settings to keep it off. Video playback causes random screen touches. The quick settings tiles sometimes don't work or self-trigger if they're opened while the phone is locked. The screen wake, notification sound, LED flash, and the actual notification are so out of sync that I don't know what's going on. There's also the mystery of SA 5G being disabled for all US bands on the US model.
Overall the phone is a mess.
Someone who update to 61.1.A.4.78 can confirm that call recording available?
