Hello Newbies/Experts/Hobbyists,
Recently I have acquired a Sharp Aquos xx 404SH made for the carrier Softbank. The specifications are as follows:
Model: 404SH
SIM-card amount: 1
Weight: 168 grams, Width: 79 mm
Height: 146 mm
Screen size: 5.7 inch, resolution: 1920x1080 (386 ppi)
CPU: Snapdragon 810, RAM: 3GB, ROM: 32GB
GPU: Andreno 430
Battery: 3000MAh
During the first days of usage, I had no problems with the phone until later on when I found out the problems with this phone:
- The lack of free memory from all the bloatwares that are built into the device.
- The OEM somehow had turned off 3 big Cortex A57 cores, making the device suffer in terms of performance.
- It has no (or so I thought) bootloader since I wasn't able to access to it (by using ADB or hardware keys).
After days spending time on the forums and videos online, I decided to ask for help in order to have it recognised by the community, as there are little to no support for this device even when it's considered fast for its days.
Going further into the "No bootloader" problem, I'm becoming more and more suspicious that the carrier (or the OEM) has managed to have the bootloader locked and make any kind of exposure to it impossible, let alone knowing that it's there., which means rooting this device is going to be a challenge. All I could see from the device regardless of when I tried to boot into the [fastboot] mode was: Sharp logo (powered by Android down the bottom) -> Aquos logo flashes for a few seconds and comes the Softbank logo -> OS. Going to the manufacturer's website revealed nothing much useful but several FAQs and drivers. No source code or guides whatsoever
I'm asking if there's any hope for this type of device and if there's anyone who is willing to help make this device recognised, because there are people like me who is owning or will own it and want to explore it further in the future and I also know that there have been attempts to request for this device, and also if there's anyway to root or unlock bootloader on this device it'd be helpful.
Thank you.
Very little people use this device, nobody cares about it. You could have bought a more popular device.

Height: 146 mm
Screen size: 5.7 inch, resolution: 1920x1080 (386 ppi)

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone involved in this site. The experience has been very enriching so far.
I have a Cherry Mobile Razor which I bought here in the Philippines. Specs are as follows:
- Mediatek MT6589 Quad-core Cortex A7 Processor
- PowerVR SGX 544MP
- 1GB LPDDR2
- 540x960 qHD IPS LCD Screen
- 4GB Internal Storage
-16 GB SDcard/ External Storage
- Android Jellybean 4.2.1
- 1750mAh Battery
Now, it is a sweet device for it's price point. Catch is, the screen refresh rate is locked to a snail-pace 22Hz. That's right, 22Hz. The big difference between the amount of frames the device can process and the rate it can spit images out on the screen is so big it shows as a laggy platform for a myriad of 2D applications. You can even feel the "display latency" when typing on the on-screen keyboard. The animations are fluid, but laggy response can be felt.
The question:
I wish to edit the refresh rate setting on the device and set it to about 60Hz. I am rooted and read somewhere that settings are located in the kernel. I am thinking of editing the boot.img in my device, either the manual way via ADB or through a kernel kitchen. But before I do any sort of unpacking, editing, then repacking - am I looking at this correctly?
Are there other things I need to consider and know like LCD screen specs, etc.,... ????
Hey.
I recently purchased a Gigabyte Gsmart Akta A4 smartphone for 130 euros.
Gigabyte as a company is only known in PC market, but they're very trustworthy and they make quality PC parts.
And for 130 euros I've got:
Octa-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A7 CPU
Mali-450MP4 GPU
8GB of internal storage
1GB of ram
13 mp camera and 5 MP front camera,
A bit small resolution but good screen with good color reproduction (540 x 960).
At this price point I couldn't find any other phone which would match these specs (at least in Lithuania).
In AnTuTu it gets over 26K-27K score.
So I went through a lot of searches and I didn't find any custom roms or anything for it. It's like it's a non-existant phone.
How such a superb budget phone doesn't have any android developers around the globe? :[
Any news? Did you found something?
You most likely won't. Devices like that almost never get any development due to no kernel source and having minor specs. Most developers go after flag ship or near flash ship devices.

I would definitely be considered inexperienced at rooting so I have been searching for anyone or any help with trying to root this tablet as well. If there is anyone who could offer any help or maybe point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it!
I'm in the same situation. I guess no one here gives a s**t about the Ares 10L NXA101LTE116. i suppose i understand, the tablet is a royal piece of s**t but if it could be rooted i would put linux on it. Maybe raspberry pi could be installed unfortunately i can't get past the locked bootloader.
Hello xda members.
I have a problem with the phone battery, I installed GSam labs and Wakelock Detector and I found some amazing stats there I haven't seen.
The device is manufactured on China from Sumvier, the phone is Sumvier P50.
It is not rooted, the bootloader is locked, it has Marshmallow and the Android on top is Stock except some applications from the retailer here in Greece.
I found that the device is waking up too much times when the wifi is enabled, and when its not under system battery stats says it is enabled. I did discharge a day on sleep mode with wifi off and a day with wifi on. The screen was barely 5 minutes enabled. I took a logcat from the device with wifi on and I will attach it with some screenshots from the system and the 2 apps.
Can someone explain me how to fix this drain? I can add more information if you ask it, I'm newbie on doing questions and I don't really know what other information I could add.
Thank you in advance.

After a lot of research I finally found the problem. The SystemUI application has a malware in it's code. Can someone help me solve it? Thank you
Hi, I'd like to know if there's any development for this device. I'm surprised it doesn't bring up any interest, as it packs pretty good specs (specially battery) for its price (~200$) and kernel sources have been released at least (though I can't confirm if they're complete, link). Here are the specs if anyone is interested:
- Display: 6.01" 1080 x 2160 pixels 18:9 ratio
- SoC: Snapdragon 625
- Memory: 4 gb RAM, 64 gb ROM
- Battery: 5000 mAh
NX608J
Hi. I am also interesting about any questions and answer for our model NX608J.
N3 has a good hardware, but very pure factory rom. I think many users of this phone need custom firmware, like Lineage OS or anything other. We have recovery TWRP 3.2.2. and Even chinese rom MIUI 9.5.50. But more interest for other custom ROMs.
Thanks)
The answer is that developer don't worry about how much a device costs. They will always buy the latest and greatest and almost never buy mid or low tier devices which is where this one sits. If you want development then that would be a great time to use xda for what it is here for. To learn to do it yourself.
