Hello,
I had a Galaxy S7 edge and now I bought a Mate 10 Pro; for now I miss two features that were present on my "old" phone:
notification LED for every app.
Always on display (AOD) with thirdy part apps (WhatsApp, Telegram, etc...) notification icon.
The notification LED seems to work well only with WhatsApp (I chose green light) and Telegram (I chose cyan light) but for other app notifications (like Gmail, Instagram, Facebook, etc...) the LED doesn't blink. Is it normal? Can I correct/configure LED blinking?
Is it possibile to add (even with a third party app from Play Store) third party notificaion icons to AOD?
For now I'm a little disappointed with my first Huawei device...
Hi, just wondering how you're getting on with the Pro 10? I also have the a7 edge, and this might be my next phone. Did you sort the notification light out? How's the signal and battery compare with your old s7? One reason why I like this Pro 10 is the ir blaster, which Samsung seem to have stopped doing since the s6!

One of the reasons i bought this great phone is that it has multiple colour notification lights. I found it strange that you can only enable or disable them in the configuration of the phone.
I've tried some apps from the Play Store to configure specific colours for specific apps, but non of them work very handy and consumes a lot of power as well.
Any suggestions?
you may use Light manager pro (works fine), Light Flow.
Unfortunately, notification Light (on non-rooted phone) has small viewing angles and can be enabled only after screen is off.
Dear members/owners!
I am considering buying the Mate 10 Pro or Honor View 10.
One thing that keeps me from the purchase is the lack of front reader on the Mate 10 Pro.
Basically, I have fallen in love with the P10 Pro's front reader's gestures. It's so great to get all that extra screen estate. But, if there is a workaround/solution for the Mate 10 Pro, I am sold. (The AMOLED panel means better battery life, it has +250mAh juice, and it also has a barometer and a better GPS and OIS.)
I saw a Youtube vid about the Oreo EMUI, that you can place this little circle on the screen, and control the device through that. (I.e.: return to homescreen, etc.)
My question is:
- Is this circle the only way of alternative controls? Are there others?
- Can you use a PIE control (with or without root?). If you don't know what is it, it's a program that hides the bottom navbar, and you slide up your finger from bottom to get a virtual controller. It worked amazing on my G Pro 2.
- I know the fingerprint sensor can pull down the notification bar, but can it do more?
Thank you all!
So I have a problem with my mate 10 notification led it only mostly pulses green color for most apps only whatsapp pulses white I wonder why does that happens since for most other people it displays the app color for example Facebook blue Instagram yellow and etc but mine only green and also in the app notifications settings there's no option for me to change the led color depending the app does anyone also have this problem with their mate 10? I would appreciate some help thanks.
I have just come from 1st gen pixel and one feature I really liked was that when using maps and I had the screen locked the phone would show directions on the always on display.
Anyway to have this working on the 20 Pro?
Sadly no, Huawei does not support 3rd party applications on the always on display. It'll only display calls and text as a small symbol
That's a shame. I wish they would do more with the always on display.
I couldn't agree more!
Arc Lighting adds a highly customizable ring of light around the camera cutout of your phone. You can use this light with various indicators such as audio visualization, notification lighting, critical or low battery warnings, as well as a charge indicator. The ring can also appear on your Always-On display. (to make aod work you need to make sure you have downloaded always on amoled and activated it, you also need to make sure samsung stock aod and samsung edge lighting is disabled under samsung display settings you also need to make sure that aod is enabled under arclighting with override set to off)
Features:
- Highly customizable lighting for Galaxy devices and most other devices. Select a variety of colors, animations, and styles.
- Always show ring with various gradient effects (add multiple colors and make them spin for a visual experience)
- An adjustable glow effect that can be turned on or off (sometimes this can cause the light to freeze to a white glow this will be fixed)
- Notification lighting both when the display is on or off (update planned for only the lockscreen or only inapp)
- Music lighting that syncs the light to your music (does not work together with other indicators so other indicators will stop working if you enable music lighting this will be fixed)
- Battery indicator lighting for charging, low and critical battery states. (note it will not work until you configure the zones you want the colors to appearm, not configuring zones can freeze the light entirely this will be fixed)
- Device overheating indicator for gamers and power users (note it will not work until you configure the zones you want the colors to appear, not configuring zones can freeze the light entirely this will be fixed)
- Arc Lighting can be configured to match the color of your wallpaper, the app you're currently in, or both! (this only works for the only show ring and only when you set it to a solid color the option is not available for gradient colors which will be added later)
This app requires certain permissions to function correctly.
Accessibility: This permission is used for the ring to appear over your lock screen, always-on display, and for accessing the color of the current app you're in. This permission is required for the app to function properly.
Draw Over Other Apps: This permission allows the ring to show on top of other apps. This permission is required for the app to function properly.
Microphone Access: This permission is used to analyze the internal device audio for the music lighting. You will not be asked for this permission unless you choose to enable the Audio Visualizer indicator for the ring.
Storage Access: This permission is used to get the color of your wallpaper. You will not be asked for this permission unless you choose to use the color of your wallpaper for the ring.
Notification access: This permission is used to change the color of the ring after notifications
Burn-in concerns: Some Android displays may suffer from mild burn-in if a single item is displayed on the screen for an extremely significant amount of time. If you are concerned about this, feel free to enable the rotation animation in ring settings. That will ensure the display is constantly changing. Alternately, you can disable the default effect to only show the ring while an indicator is being triggered. Note: Samsung Galaxy devices come with burn-in protection that moves the pixels a little each time.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
how do i disable individual notifications: currently this is a planned update, you can go into custom colors and set each app you don't want notifying to 100% transparent
light is constantly flashing even if i cleared all notifications: sometimes theres forced notifications such as when you're charging it will force a notification that says you're fast charging, the light will pick up on these you need to hold on these notifications and turn them off to stop the light there should be nothing at all in the notificationpanel, if you still have a flashing light with nothing in the panel contact me.
frozen light: music lighting will disable all other indicators same with battery indicator or battery temp indicator, you need to set custom zones otherwise the light will be frozen, glow also tends to freeze the light so turn that off if it's frozen (this will be fixed in a coming update)
i have given out codes now to over 5000 people and i still have more people to send out to, it would mean a lot if you rated my app as it has received quite a lot of hate lately, this is ofcourse not required to receive a free code but it is appreciated and would personally mean a lot to me considering the damage the bad ratings has caused, the s21 has not been officially tested yet so there may be bugs, arc lighting comes with an alignment slider to support most devices
also note that currently the code is being rewritten i have not heard from the developer for some time so i don't know any eta but hopefully soon, if i had more money i would do more with this app unfortunately theres not much i can do apart from bug fixes, but the new code should fix most bugs and make it overall better.
Does anyone have the s21 yet to properly test I should get mine on Monday
