Is there a way to sort favorites? I don't even know how they are sorted.

What firmware are you on? Mine definitely lets me organise them up and down. I'd do a screen recording but I have pictures and names set in my favourites that I'd prefer the whole internet not to see

I was about to say "yes, it definitely works" - but alas, it only appears to work - after clicking the tick on the top-right corner (presumably to save), they revert back to their previous order.
FWIW, I'm using a Mate 10 ALP-L29 with 8.0.0.128(C636) firmware.

Same here. Once you tick the sorting is gone.
I just discovered this, after I had absolutely same issue with the same phone:
In Chrome open contacts.google.com, where you can edit and organize all your contacts.
In the left menu click on your starred/favourites,
Deselect all contacts that have, until now, been selected as favourites, but don't click on anything else after this.
In your phone, go to Settings > Users & Accounts > Google > [your Google account] and hit "Sync". After a short while, your phone's favourites should be empty.
Back to Chrome, mark a contact as a favourite (add the star to its name), then hit "Sync" in your phone"s settings, then check in your phone contacts. That contact should now be the first on your favourites' list. Then go and repeat that with the second and third contact and so on. After each sync, the favourite contact should appear in your phone's favourites in the order you have selected them as favourites.
Moreover, now you can rearrange them in your phone without the arrangement being reset every time you hit the check icon!

I'm really missing the scroll wheel from the mogul/6800. Is there a way to make the ring scroll in programs that don't have it mapped (like zooming in Opera)? I'd really like to use it to scroll through e-mail. I swear that I got it to scroll once in mail for a split second while the app was still loading, but promptly stopped scrolling once it finished loading.

I know I've seen somewhere (I think over @ ppcgeeks) that there was a way to set up custom apps to use the scroll ring in other applications. I'll look again and see if I can't find it.
you can enable scrolling with the sensor using advance config. At the bottom of the list there will be an option with 5 or 6 sub options
I believe DiamondTweaks also has an option for this

Yes it does. Nice app too.
Not as consistent as it should be but I am sure the developer will improve it steadily.
When I say this, I mean that u can scroll around but onceyou make a selection, you can't scroll within that selection.
In advanced config you have to add the programs that you want to scroll with manually. Open advanced config, go to menu, more settings, smarttouch, and add what ever program you like.
there are 2 programs. 1 is called gscroll and the other is called sensorscroll. gscroll is not free, but here is the link for sensor scroll: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=466377
It does shut down on random, but allows you to scroll in manilla (fav contacts, programs, text message etc)
Having issue getting the calendar to STAY OPEN in month agenda in the calendar options even after changing the option to 'open in" Month View.
Every time the calendar app starts it displays the full month view for only a split second before switching to day view for the current day.
Any fix for this?
i think this file fixed it for me... not sure.. still kinda drunk. but give it a shot. just drop it in your windows dir with tc or resco. disable tf3d, reset, etc, etc..

I had this "problem" too,... here's what I found out:
It's actually working as designed when you fire it up from certain areas - for me it's the home screen of TF3D. IF you add CALENDAR to the application menu and just fire up the application alone it will come up as your Tools/Options dictates.
There is a way to customize TF3D so that it will not fire it up with the parameters that flip it into Agenda view - but that's a startup parameter and there isn't really a problem with the application per se.

Nice, I've been thinking that there are certain settings that works and doesn't work in other areas, but just dismissed it as me overthinking things. Could you tell us where the parameter can be adjusted? Thanx!

Unzip the file and put it on your phone.
Disable TF3D.
Run the EXE.
Click the INIT button.
Click the calendar shortcut.
Remove the $ from the arguement field.
Check the PATCH box.
Click the SAVE button.
Change to the NEXT tab.
Click on DEPLOY.
Restart TF3D.
For some reason it didn't work. When I launch the calender it flashes the month view then switches back. I checked SSMaPa and it shows that the $ is gone. I have to reset the phone in order to open SSMaPa again. Is that normal?
I put the SSMaPa program in my windows/startmenu/programs is that ok?
Nevermind. I got it to work. I had to disable tf3d first.
Thanks!
did anyone find a way to fix this issue in TF3D without adding a new app on top to control it?
Ehhh
I tried it. Followed the instructions to the letter. After I ticked the box in the TODAY settings to re-enable TFLO3D, all I got was a loop between nothing and "touch screen to start TFL3D" but no interface...just a blank screen, essentially. I had to "restore" with the program and now I'm back to square one.
On my Captivate I had the ability to add a Direct Dial icon to my screen, allowing me to call someone with one press of a button. I was using Launcher Pro, and am not sure if it was that launcher of the Samsun firmware that gave me the ability to add that shortcut.
However, on the Atrix, also running launcher pro, I don't see an option anywhere to add direct dial, as in its missing from the list of things to add.
I can add a contact to the page, but then there's a second step needed to actually dial the number.
Any thoughts on how I can get around it?
Nobody? Am I the only one who ever used the direct dial function?
I did it too, cant find it on atrix either
Had the same problem, here's what you can do:
Get the [free] app "Folder Organizer lite" from the market...Then go to the create a shortcut menu, and select Folder Organizer item - pick Direct Call / Direct Text etc. from the next menu and you're good to go. Works great! There is built-in functionality with Blur but I find it to be very flaky / hard to setup.
This worked! Thank you very much. Now I'm 100% happy with the phone!

how did you get this to work? after i make the contact in the app, I keep getting the error message that "shortcuts were only available in the paid version" whenever i click on the new contact .
Animated widget is pretty cool too. I can direct dial or text any contact in my book from a single widget. The other app that worked well was anycut.

You don't make the contact in the app. You just add a shorcut like you would any other on your homescreen (so press and hold and select shortcut), in the shortcuts menu there is an option for folder organizer items, select that and then select direct dial from the list.

It is neither. Rather it is by design. Any app busy in the background (not merely running), will show up as "working". After it completes its work, the status will change to 'will be hibernated after screen off'. It will then be automatically hibernated once the screen is off.
This is to allow apps to complete their work before being hibernated.
If you don't want Facebook to even work, highlight it and then tap the three dot menu at the top and choose 'ignore the app's state'.
I am not responsible for any consequences.

Try what Black_Focus_X said earlier. When Facebook shows up as 'working', highlight it and then tap the 'zzz' at the bottom. I've now installed what I think is 2.8 beta 3 bit still can't get this to apppear, perhaps because I can't get Facebook to appear in the working state. It does however keep getting started by other apps. I shouldn't have to stop the services manually in developer settings. So how is this accomplished? The whole reason I have Greenify is to stop Facebook and other data stealing from running rampant when I'm not using them.

When it's awoken by another app, it will say "woken by ....." underneath the app name. If you tap on facebook in greenify main screen, then tap the scissors icon in top right of the page, a pop-up will explain then allow you to cut off the wake-up path. Play around with it and you'll find that cutting some wake-up paths is good and cutting others will stop notifications.
I currently have these paths cut-off for facebook:
...notify.MessengerForegroundProvider
...provider.PlatformProviderBase
What wake-up paths have other people cut?
You are missing a notification LED on LG G6?
You don't use the AlwaysOnDisplay (AOD)?
You are using Tasker?
I have a solution for you.
The AOD screens goes on if you have a new message and goes off after reading that massage.
Beside the newest version of Tasker you need additional the app Tasker Settings
I have attached two files "AOD_ON.tsk.xml" and "AOD_OFF.tsk.xml"
These are the Tasker task which turns the AlwaysOnDisplay on and off.
How to import these XML as Tasker task: read this XDA thread
Now you have to add 2 new profiles in Tasker
Profile 1 - Notification
Go to the Profile tab in Tasker, and press the "Plus" (+) button
Choose: EVENT - UI - NOTIFICATION ... you can choose now an app (owner application) let's say WhatsApp (you can choose more than one app)
Related task : AOD_ON
Important : leave all the fields TITEL, TEXT, SUBTEXT etc empty.
Profile 2 - Notification removed
Go to the Profile tab in Tasker, and press the "Plus" (+) button
Choose: EVENT- UI - NOTIFICATION REMOVED ... you can choose now an app (owner application) let's say WhatsApp (you can choose more than one app)
Related task : AOD_OFF
If you don't want to be notified in the middle of the night by AOD, you may have that Profile only active during daytime. Short tap the Prolie name, long tap the profile description. A new window pops up, choose ADD. A new window pops up, choose TIME. You can now define in which period of the day the profile is active.
LG G6 settings: Notifications/ LOCK Screen / do NOT choose Hide all notifications !
It works for me on LG G6 (H870)
Have fun
EDIT: for SMS & MMS add Contacts, Phone App and (if possible) SMS App to owner application in Tasker Profile
For missed calls you need to add 'Calling Accounts' apart from Phone app.
Here are the steps how to add this: (thanks to user Vitoski, who found out)
1. Click on the 'Owner Application'
2. click 'ALL' button at the right bottom corner
3. Select 'Calling Accounts'.
4. click back twice and tick to save changes.
EDIT : If you like to have a brighter AOD , please read this useful post added by user vitoski
Many thanks for that!
Thanks a lot to users Dracushor87 and Vitoski for testing and giving hints and ideas!
Edit : new versions of AOD_ON and AOD_OFF tasks
martmarq great post - thanks a lot!
I've been using AOD with Tasker since two days now and in most cases it works fine. It kicks in when the notification shows up and turns off when I remove the notification.
However sometimes the AOD turns on itself, even if there was no notification registered in the system. These are the two situations in which I have spotted this:
# when you go to Display Settings and click on three dots next to AOD - you don't need to change anything in there, just go there and back to homescreen.
# when you connect phone to the charger. Even when you disconnect it, the AOD stays on.
# under some other circumstances which I was not able to pinpoint right now
So, have you observed the same?

When you connect the phone to the charger, there is a notification.... therefor AOD should go on.
You can manage that by choosing apps (owner application) in Tasker. That solved the problem for me.
That might also solve the other circumstances.
I don't have that problem with the display settings... I have just tested that.
