Hey Guys,
i searched for a second Charger for my Mate 10 Pro - since Huawei dont have a own Shop - i searched online.
All i could found was the Huawei Travelcharger... with:
Input: 100-240V -50/60hz, 0.5A
Output: 5V = 2A or 9V=2A
Thats exact the same Charger like the one from the Mate 8!
The Mate 10 Charger has:
Output: 2V or 4.5V = 5A or 5V - 4.5A
that means they are differnt! There is no charger for the Mate10 Pro from Huawei yet....
Can i use the Mate 8 Charger? Or better not?

Hi there
I have a Mate 8 as well as the Mate 10 pro.
When charging using the Mate 8 charger it shows that it is "Fast charging" not "Supercharging".
Speeds aren't as good as the Mate 10 pro charger but they are still good. The phone can charge at about 77% an hour as apposed to the 103% an hour of the supercharger.
But this is much quicker than the 5v 2a of a typical charger pumping out 55% an hour speeds.
Hope this helps

Yes, don't switch the chargers, or the charging performance will be poor.

Hey guys I bought a huawei super charger with the following outputs:
5V 2A OR 4.5V 5A OR 5V 4.5A
Now I know that the honor super charging uses the 5V/4.5A option but when I plug in the phone, it charges as usual. The lockscreen says charging and I have an app that says the voltage is around 3.8 and not sure what the amp is but the charge speed is like 36% in one hour which isnt really fast. So what do I need to do ? Any options I need to toggle on ? Maybe it is the cable ? Because I bought the phone from someone and im not sure if it is the original cable.
Thanks ! :good:
Edit1 : This is the item I bought:
100% HUAWEI ORIGINAL FAST CHARGER FOR P10, P10 PLUS, MATE 9, MATE 9 PRO
MODEL NUMBER: HW-050450B00
INPUT: 100-240V-50/60HZ , 0.75A
OUTPUT: 5V - 4.5Amp
I assume this is the correct charger though it doesnt mention the View 10 by name.
Do you have the link of the charger you bought?
You'll know the cable is original if there is purple inside of the USB-A and USB-C port.
You need both the cable and correct charging plug to get supercharging

thanks Chris, one final question, does it have to be the 5A cable or 4.5A ? I am not sure if there is a 4.5A cable but I did find a purple on the inside 5A cable, would that work ?
Thanks

You need 5a cable to get supercharge work. If you use general usb cable supercharger will only give maximum 5v2a output. I will test the supercharger with normal cable and it will not charge fast. Try to discharge battery upto 20 to 25 percent and use supercharger with 5a cable. U will got better results. Try ampere app in playstore to check what chrge rate u get.
Hey folks
When I got my Pre-owned Mate 10 pro, I didnt get an Official Huawei charger in the box.. I know the Huawei chargers use quite a high wattage..
Would a 5V / 3A charger be ok.. or what would you recommend?
Thanks
Yeah he will charge it at 2A takes tad longer but safer for battery
Thanks for the reply...
Can I just ask...
Do you mean my 3amp will charge it at 2amp... Or should I use a 2amp charger instead
Thanks
Most know but if your new to Huawei look for the USB cables that are 5 Amp. Others will work just slower charge speed. For the Mate 20 Pro, it may be a completely different cable. Also for your chargers look for 5a output.
Has anyone seen any super charge cables that are 3 to 5 meters in length?
The longest I have seen is 2 meters.

Pretty much the longest I found when I was searching for some for my M10P. Maybe the limit for the 5a charging.
Maybe it is the same, Super Charge Cable X1, from the title TITACUTE Huawei Mate 9 Super Charger Cable, 6.6FT Quick Charging Cable 5A USB C Cable Durable Nylon Braided Cords Data Cable Type A to Type C Cable for Huawei P20 Pro Mate 10 Pro P10 Plus Red
Works well.
The one plus 5 pin long cable does not support super charging unfortunately does not work. The TITACUTE is a good value comparatively.

Hello, over the last few years being a Samsung fan boy I've accumulated a number of Qualcomm 3.0 quick chargers, powerbanks etc. Will the mate 20 pro negotiate the higher voltages/faster charging rates offered by these? Or will it stick to 5V 0.5A, 1A, 2A? If anyone has had a chance to test this info would be very much appreciated!
Sorry if this has been answered before but I've not managed to find any definitive answers, Thanks, Matt
Yes, but not at it's full capacity
Just stick to using the 40 watt (10v 4a) super charger that's included with the Mate 20 Pro for the best charging speeds.
I has a Samsung s8 with QC 2.0 and the mate 20 pro will charge at QC 2.0 speed if I use it. Honestly though, the build in charger charges so much quicker that I've never found a reason to use the other one. 30 min charge in the morning gets me above 70% which will get me through a day at work or anything I might do that day.
I'd like to know if there are any standard QC 4.0 chargers available in India. Or one that can be shipped from outside India.
Notch light
Qualcomm QC 4.0 Charger
@shenlone.. QC 4.0 chargers available on amazon but I wouldn't trust the brands. However I hav ordered Xiaomi QC 3.0 for myself frm Amazon India and it charges the phone to 70% in 45 mins. Its faster than the standard 10W charger that Mi provides in the box.
