Closing tabs - Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Questions & Answers

I can't close the tabs on my xiaomi redmi note 4x. I click on the square tab at the top right and I get a lot of previous tabs lined up behind my page, then I click on the three dots at the top right and it gives me the option to close all tabs but when I click on close all tabs nothing happens.

[Q] Lock the homescreen layout when have only 1 page?

I did that in my ATT s2. However, i forgot how to. Can someone remind me this?
Right now the screen move left and right when swipping. Would like it locks in place.

Looked to me like you could hit the menu button while at the home screen, select edit, and then drag the unused pages down to Remove...

I did remove all the empty screens. However the one page screen still moving itself a bit to left or right. How to completely lock? I think only scrolling wallpaper in TW in inter Note or ATT S2 can do it. Not our Note

X-Scope Question

Have gone back using X-Scope as my default browser on my phone after their recent big updates but 2 things i cant seem to find out, whereabouts is the address bar gone to type in website URL's and why after closing a tab does it then ask me to exit?
Thanks
If you scroll from the top, you'll have the url bar back.
If you've got no opened tabs, it will suppose that you want to exit, so it just asks how.

sorry mate that isn't working there is no option that i can see to type in a URL at all
in the previous version before the ICS update you could just close the tab and X-Scope closed, with this you close the tab and it then asks you to exit, surely you can just close the tab without having to click on exit too.
anyone any suggestions?

[Q] Touch screen sensitivity question

I posted this on a different forum but should have checked over here first. Hopefully one of you guys with a Gear S can verify this for me.
When swiping down from the clock screen to get to the quick menu it seems I have to be in the top center when I swipe down. If I try to swipe down from the top near the edges it does not work. This also applies when swiping down from a widget to get back to the home screen. If I am in app or scrolling through the apps the top edges seem to work as normal.
Just trying to figure out if it is supposed to be this way or my Gear S is defective?
Thanks
Just tried the swipe down on my Gear S. Won't respond if I'm swiping near the corners. Only responds when I swipe near the middle.
On my Galaxy Note 4, I can swipe straight down from the middle to pull up the notification panel. I can also swipe diagonally down from the corners to activate multi-window pop-up mode.
So, maybe the Gear S will eventually incorporate some type of diagonal swipe down from the corners to activate or open an app or setting.
Thanks for the checking. I figured it was designed like that but I had nothing to compare it to.
Thanks again

Change the default home screen

Hi,
I just bought a redmi note 4 with a global rom, miui 8.
How can I change the home screen default? I looked in google and there is a solution to swipe three fingers, but it is note working.
Thanks
You must "pitch" on screen, like zoom out, two finger from middle of the screen to the edges. Sorry for my bad english

I swipe three fingers upward with medium pressure to get to the home screen manager. (If it's not straight up, you'll only change screens.)
Yes Offcourse 3 Finger Technique Really work for that Try it to solve this issue
i couldn't able to access any buttons in my redmi note 4.. whatever options i do, am getting a screen continuously with " Choose your language 1 " with the options English and Tamil.
How can i rectify this.. Please, help me out..
In miui 8.2.10, 3 fingers technique will conflict with taking screenshot.
Turn off screenshot 3 fingers gesture and notification will allow us to go into add screen and set home screen.
update:
It seems like 3 fingers pinch no longer works for changing home screen in miui 9
How to change default Homescreen in MI UI8
Using three fingers, swipe your screen from left to right. Then you can change the default homescreen from the several screens that appear on your phone.
Change screen
Just put 3 fingers on the screen and zoom in (not zoom out)
Then you choose the screen you want

Tab S3 split screen multi window problem

Lucky though I am to suffer such trivial problems on my journey through life, I'd be very grateful if anyone has a solution to this particular Rich World problem.
On my Tab S3 I am in landscape and Split Screen Multi window mode. I want to change the app in the Left Hand pane. If I press the Recents button I am only ever given the option to change the apps in the Right Hand pane. It does not matter which pane, left or right, is in focus I can only change the app in the right hand pane.
The only way I can figure to change the app in the left hand pane is to 1. Swop the panes about so Left pane becomes Right pane. 2. Hit the Recents button and select the new app. 3. Swop the panes back. That's rubbish! Does anyone know if there is an easier way to change the Left hand app?
Why do I want this? I am right handed. I like to use the stylus with Samsung Notes in the right hand pane. I keep whatever app I am referring to or watching in the left hand pane and I like to change to different apps there fairly regularly. All this daft swopping is dementing me. I could just do my writing in the left hand pane but that is also rubbish as it feels awkward.
Really like the Tab but wondering if I should have got an iPad Pro for my notetaking.
Ok this is pretty trivial i know, hence plenty views but no replies! I'll leave it up in case someone else is puzzling about what multi window does and doesn't do.

It's not trivial. But it is how the multi-window is implemented by Google in Android Nougat. So there isn't a solution unless Google change their mind on the implementation.
